Hello! Thanks for the review! Let's get to it!

Warnings: touchy-feely situation between demon and human: kind of like mild yaoi with cheese on it. Not too subtle and not too descriptive.

Chapter 10

In an apartment, a slim woman with long red hair tied in a low ponytail and green eyes lived there. She was a college student from another city. She was busy cleaning the dirty dishes in her kitchen until she was suddenly grabbed from behind by a pair of strong arms. A knife was placed on her throat-she didn't do anything. She was being robbed on her own apartment! She tried her best to stay calm under the current situation.

The attacker was about to slit his victims throat in cold blood…That was until he saw across the kitchen through the living room. "Come on out. I know that you are hiding somewhere. I was able to sense you just now."

Out of nowhere, Hiei teleported a few distance near them. "Here I am," he announced to the attacker.

The attacker raised an eyebrow. "Hiei, I presume?" he asked as he recognized the fire demon.

Hiei recognized him as well; the attacker was actually a demon. In fact, he knew immediately who this other demon was. His name was Nijiro: a C rank demon shinobi that used sharp objects as his lethal weapons. He was a demon that would do any jobs for hire back in the Demon World. How the demon entered the human realm went beyond Hiei.

Hiei's eyes focused on Nijiro. He remembered perfectly the details of the mission that was in the red folder. According to the mission briefing:

"There is a serial killer that is currently targeting attractive women of different ages with short, medium or long red hair in the city. Spirit World doesn't have an identity or a leading physical clue of this cold hearted killer. Your mission is to find this serial killer and be stopped at all costs, including death as one of the means necessary."

"I've been waiting for you to strike your next target," Hiei said with little emotion. "In the name of Spirit World, you are under arrest," he said ready to fight Nijiro, which he was sure he was going to.

Nijiro chuckled in amusement. He couldn't believe what he had just heard. The Great Hiei actually working for Spirit World, along with something else: "Don't amuse me. The word about your stay in this realm is spread everywhere in the demon realm, and so is the rumors about your human lover that you are protecting. Just to let you know. You have to watch out for her: she is the one who found out about you two, and she told everyone. And she is strong as an A class demon now- she may target your lover first. I know this because she is the one who hired me to kill 'any pretty red head' as your warning sign."

Hiei furrowed his eyebrow. He might know the one responsible for spreading such rumor about him… He didn't care what others say about him, really. However, "she" planned to target Shuichi first to get to him. He wasn't going to let that happen—he will protect Shuichi at all costs.

"Enough. I will take care of you first somewhere else," Hiei said somewhat annoyed.

Nijiro nodded to him as accepting the condition to fight him. Then, he teleported out of the room as the red head woman fell to the floor.

Hiei looked at her, and he spoke before she could do so:

"You will no longer remember this."

The Jagan Eye was used on her to erase the memory of what happened on this night.

NEXT DAY AT MINAMINO RESIDENCE:

Shuichi was in the living room of his house. He was reading quietly his biology book as he sat on the couch. He was absorbed in his reading until he quickly looked up: Hiei had teleported himself in the middle of the living room. "Hello, Hiei. How are you doing?" he greeted him.

"Yesterday, the last mission was a bit hard to figure out on my own but it turned out to be easy," Hiei said directly as he looked at Shuichi.

Shuichi set the book down next to him on the large sofa. He was on the verge of pouting and crossing his arms but he contained himself. Here he was on his house, waiting for Hiei to get to the mission since last night he was able to figure out a clue or two that lead to the serial killer. Instead, Hiei went to do the mission without telling anything to him. "You should've waited for me," he said, somewhat disappointed.

"I was bored, and I haven't been given anything important to do by Koenma."

"Yes, but still…We are supposed to be a team," Shuichi said by reminding Hiei of their partnership.

Shuichi was starting to get stubborn on him. It was better to explain the reason, Hiei thought, "I told Koenma about your injury, and he said that it was fine for me to do the mission solo while you were recovering."

Shuichi blinked his eyes. "Wait. You didn't tell him anything about…?" he looked sort of apprehensive as he was making the question.

Hiei knew what Shuichi was referring to: his connection to Youko Kurama. He shook his head before replying: "It stays between the two of us. If I did that, Koenma would be questioning you and hold you off your Spirit Detective duties until further notice. Youko Kurama is still a fugitive criminal on the list, and obviously, you would become a suspect if I said anything."

Shuichi released a sigh, being relieved and grateful for Hiei's cooperative silence. "I see…Thank you. So anyways, Hiei, I'm glad you could come. I wanted to show you something," he said, changing the subject, as he stood on his feet.

"Watch this," he said as he used one hand on his red mane. He searched for something until he was able to found it, and closed the hand into a fist. When he took the hand away from his red mane, he pulled out a red rose. "Rose Whip!" he said and the red rose turned into a large green vine-chain whip with thorns.

Hiei raised an eyebrow. "When did you learn to do this?" he asked carefully. Shuichi didn't do anything of this... At least while he wasn't under the influence of Youko Kurama's demonic energy like the other night.

"It happened to me this morning while I was taking care of the garden. I did it as first without noticing, and I have been practicing a little ever since then," Shuichi explained to Hiei.

"That is something that Kurama would do as part of his power," Hiei commented rather impressed. Shuichi had begun to learn on his own about his powers of plant manipulation. Perhaps he could help him develop more his power and abilities by training him...

"Huh…? So that means that I share the same power as him, then?"

"Why yes, I can sense that you have a demonic energy of your own freely flowing inside you. However, it is not the same grand amount. Speaking of which, have you thought of any clues regarding to Kurama?"

"I believe I haven't these past two days…" Shuichi said thoughtfully. The tone of his voice changed into one of concern: "I also don't think that the memories that I've lost last year will ever come back to me, no matter how hard I try to remember," he said to more to himself as if he was voicing out his current thoughts of the past.

"It will come back to you; stop being hard on yourself," Hiei said to Shuichi as he crossed his arms.

"Sorry…but it is important for me to remember, especially what happened during the last mission that I failed. Botan and Koenma know what really went on but they won't tell me anything about it. It is not about Kurama this time- is what actually happened on the mission that I failed," Shuichi explained with a hint of sadness this time.

Out of the blue: "I apologize again. I need to be alone for a moment," Shuichi said rather hastily that he stormed off to his room by taking the stairs.

When he reached to his room, Shuichi opened and closed the door. He sat on the floor in fetal with his back against the door. Tears were accumulating on his eyes: 'Shuichi, you are so stupid! Hiei couldn't care less about that…I know I must move on already but I can't until I am able to remember everything. Whatever happened last year, I just can't help but to feel very responsible for it besides from failing that mission.'

Some time had passed since Shuichi had left to his room…Hiei hadn't left the household or bothered to check up on the human. He was sitting on the sofa all this time while thinking.

Then, a door opened and closed: Shiori just came from work and found Hiei in the living room.

"Hiei? It is so nice of you to visit!" Shiori said warmly. She assumed that if Hiei was visiting, then Shuichi must have received him after he came back from school. "Where is Shuichi? I thought he would be with you," she said when she didn't find Shuichi on the same room with his guest. It was rather odd to her since Hiei and Shuichi were the type to be almost inseparable. However, it was just her intuition and reserved opinion.

"Your son was fine until he remembered something that happened last year and he went to his room," Hiei said in a summary of what happened in the last few hours.

"Not again…" Shiori murmured in anguish, already knowing everything. "Come to the kitchen, Hiei. I will prepare some tea for you," she said with a courteous smile on her face. Being a kind person, she felt the need to attend her son's guest, who was unattended for hours, and it was sort of lacking hospitality.

After preparing and serving the tea for her and Hiei, Shiori spoke when she was finished drinking her own tea cup: "Poor Shuichi… It has been already a year or so. The depression gets on him every time he remembers. I'm certain that it wasn't his fault but he can be so emotional sometimes to the point of carrying the heavy burden on his shoulders."

Hiei didn't made a comment. He thought that it wasn't in his sole business to inquire about the human. Therefore, he pretended that he was listening to Shiori talking.

"I will go check on him," Shiori announced when she put her empty cup of tea on the dishwasher. She made her way to the living room to reach the stairs...Within less than a minute, she ran back desperately into the kitchen. "Hiei! Shuichi is gone!" she said in panic.

"I thought he was cooped up inside his room," Hiei said calmly.

"I'm afraid that whenever Shuichi can't handle the depression, he jumps off by his window and leaves the house," Shiori explained to him.

"Hn. I will go out and find him," Hiei said to calm Shiori down. His own mother used to also worry much for him whenever he went out on a dangerous business without telling her anything. So he knew how Shiori strongly felt for Shuichi's wellbeing and safety, and he chose to do this as a payment for her warm hospitality into her own house.

"You will? Thank you very much, Hiei. Please do find my son: I'm very worried for him."

FUYOMORI MEMORIAL CEMETERY:

Shuichi had set a bouquet of flower down on a grave he was facing. He was on his knees. "…You are here because of me. Sorry is not going to be enough for your death or ever bring you back to life. It is my fault," he said with the apparent emotion he displayed on his features.

He stood on his feet as he was getting ready to depart back to his house. It was getting dark, and he was here for quite some time after he jumped the window from his room. He had lost track of the time… He also had been to a flower shop before he came to pay his respect for the dead.

"It is good to see you again, Kurama."

Shuichi stood frozen on his place… There was a stranger behind him, and he was so close to him.

"You had changed over a year, perhaps? I almost didn't recognize you with your long hair," the same voice said.

Shuichi gathered some bravery to finally turn around to face the stranger that called him 'Kurama'. The voice inside told not to do it…He took a step back to fully observe the tall, dark and mysterious stranger that had some kind of oxygen mask that covered nearly half of his face. "I'm sorry. My name is not Kurama—I'm Shuichi. You happen to be mistaking me for somebody else," he answered politely.

"Don't tell me that after all the torture I have brought upon you in one day had caused you amnesia?"

Shuichi shivered upon hearing the words "torture" and "amnesia". His mind worked on those two words as if two missing puzzles were being put on its places. However, he felt uncomfortable at the moment, not wanting to keep talking to the dark long-haired haired stranger. "I…don't know what you are talking about. I better get going now," he said, making haste towards the cemetery's exit.

The stranger grabbed Shuichi's left arm to stop him from walking away. "Wait, Kurama. You are not as strong as you used to be last year, and your personality had changed. It isn't you," he commented.

"Of course I am not Kurama. Will you let me go now?" Shuichi wanted to lose his patience and his collected temper towards the dark stranger's persistence. Besides that, he felt a bad feeling what would become next between the two of them.

"No, you must remember me," he said a little forceful. "I came to the Human World, sneaking away from the Toguro brothers back at Sakyo's place, specifically to see you again. I'm Karasu, remember?"

Shuichi's eyes went widen upon hearing the name of the persistent dark stranger. '…Karasu…' His mind worked now quickly as his heart accelerated its rhythm.

A flashing blur of memories poured into the red-haired human's mind. A vivid of images from a young woman around his age covered in her own blood being grabbed by Karasu, and then an explosion occurred on that scene. The next image was followed by one of Shuichi (having short hair and wearing another uniform) screaming in pain as he was being tortured to death by the same Karasu in an abandoned place.

"Karasu..." he said as he looked at the other. He was feeling that he was able to somehow recognize Karasu from last year upon the memories and the feelings. He clenched a fist…

Karasu felt relieved now that Kurama remembered him. Kurama must have suffered from amnesia during an entire year to not remember and assume a different identity as Shuichi, the ordinary human. However, Kurama was more than just a mere human to act so weak. Kurama was actually fox demon in his human disguise. He knew this because he fought Kurama himself last year when he worked as a Spirit Detective for the spiritual realm and had a greater amount of demonic energy compared to present time.

"Finally, you remember me. We can catch up—" Karasu was interrupted when a fist collided on a cheek. He just stumbled a little upon the impact of the punch.

Shuichi panted as he held an angry look on his features. He looked like he had concentrated one part of his energy into his own fist. "You monster! Psychopath! Heartless! Demon!" he screamed as he launched himself to attack Karasu in a blind and senseless rage.

Karasu braced himself…He dodged every punch and kick pattern at ease that came from the well-mannered and non-violent Shuichi. He was losing his patience: here he was, in this eerie place for humans, wanting to talk to the fox demon in peace. Instead, he gets attacked for no apparent reason whatsoever.

When Shuichi was about to deliver a blow, there was an explosion sound practically next to him and in mid air. This took him by surprise that he fell onto the ground by instinct to avoid being caught by it. Suddenly, his arms were being grabbed in a twist. Shuichi was in pain: Karasu was stronger and faster than him. How did it occur to him to suddenly attack a stronger opponent than himself?

Karasu kept twisting Shuichi's arms as he sat on the other's back. He leaned his body over the arms until his face was close to the right ear: "You became so weak…and it is very pathetic of you. Still, I wouldn't want to hurt your pretty face," he breathed the last sentence, and he used one of his free hands to caress Shuichi on the face.

"I can't deny that you look delicious looking so helpless under me. How about we have some fun? Your pure human body seemed to have matured from last year…"

Shuichi felt helpless being under Karasu's weight that he couldn't do anything to get out of the upcoming situation. Then, the same caressing hand went into roaming his red mane. If only something or someone would save him…

Karasu stopped what he was doing to Shuichi to look up to see the following: an imposing short stranger appeared in front of them. He had appeared out of nowhere and Karasu never sensed his incoming energy.

"Well, who do we have here?" Karasu said as he raised an eyebrow towards the intruder that interrupted his alone time with Shuichi.

"You have to fight me now."

Shuichi looked up when he heard the familiar voice, and he smiled upon seeing Hiei. He was very glad that the fire demon showed up on time. He was never this happy to see him.

Karasu looked at the sincere smile that was on Shuichi's expression and then he looked at Hiei. He became irritated. "I'm afraid that I have to refuse," he refused to fight Hiei because then he would be easily found if he used his energy, which it was currently concealed too faint to be detected by another being.

He stood up from Shuichi to let him go, and the human quickly got himself off the ground to go quickly to Hiei's side.

Karasu frowned upon what he had just witnessed. It was starting to make sense to him. "It was a good timing that your boyfriend showed up to protect you, Kurama," he said being displeased for Shuichi's relationship with another demon.

Shuichi wasn't offended in the least but he had to defend Hiei from false comments coming from Karasu. "Leave my friend Hiei out of this!" he defended passionately.

Karasu didn't believe Shuichi because the relationship with Hiei was obvious to him. He couldn't help but to feel a pang of burning jealousy. "Right…Your boyfriend is infamous around the Demon World for killing countless demons, surviving the Jagan eye operation and stealing whatever he is interested in. He also wasn't supposed to be born… You have made him soft enough to go the low level of protecting you in this world made of weaklings."

Shuichi listened very well to Karasu's words about Hiei. He placed a hand on Hiei's shoulder. "It doesn't matter. I will defend him from anyone who says bad things about him," he said firmly. He was unfazed because it didn't matter where Hiei came from and what he used to be. Hiei had a good heart despite of not showing it. He was willing to fight Karasu just for that.

Hiei didn't have anyone else besides Yukina to defend him from hurtful comments and mentions about his lifestyle as a thief, a killer, an unwanted creature to never been born…"You are also a demon here on the Human World," he said in retort to Karasu's judgmental words. He tried not to get carried away with Shuichi's caring words and warm touch.

"That is true…However; I came here on business. I must run along now, they must be looking for me. We will meet again, Kurama. Be strong again," with those words, Karasu left them to leave the cemetery.

Hiei and Shuichi watched as Karasu left like he had said…

"What was that all about? And why was that demon was calling you Kurama?" Hiei asked to Shuichi.

Shuichi shook his head, and looked at Hiei. "I have no idea myself. He knows what really happened last year."

"It would be best to wait for your memories to return than to seek him out on your own."

"Yes, you are right. Karasu is very dangerous and if you hadn't showed up on time...Why did you find me anyways?"

"Your mother got worried when she didn't find you inside your room," Hiei said why he had come here. He had sensed from a distance Shuichi's energy and being in distress by the other subtle energy that was Karasu.

"Oh…well, let's go back home then," Shuichi said because it was dinner time. His mother must have not found him inside his room and she got worried sick about him. She also must have asked Hiei to search for him as a favor.

Hiei's gaze shifted from Shuichi's eyes to his hand that still lied on his right shoulder. "You can remove your hand from me now," he said coldly.

Shuichi looked at his hand and he quickly moved it away from the fire demon's strong shoulder. "I'm sorry, I got carried away. Although, I did meant what I said earlier. You don't deserve to get talked that way by anyone."

Hiei shrugged his shoulder to show his indifference in contrast to Shuichi's behavior. "It doesn't matter what others say about me… I'm used to it."

Shuichi felt pity for Hiei…Actually, he felt something deeper than mere pity for him. He faced him and put this time both of his hands on each shoulder on him. "No…you mustn't. In fact, I won't let that happen again to you because you are my only friend, my partner... You deserve to be respected. You may be tough on the outside, Hiei, but I know how it greatly bothers you on the inside."

Hiei could only stare at Shuichi, especially at his eyes, which they still held the same sincerity of earlier...and perhaps something else.

Shuichi took his hands off Hiei's shoulders to speak. "Hiei, um, could you give me a few minutes by myself before we actually leave? I promise I won't take long. I want to say hello to my father since he is resting in peace somewhere around here."

"Hn."

MINAMINO RESIDENCE:

Hiei and Shuichi just came back from the cemetery. They entered the front door. Shiori came all the way from the kitchen into the living room. "Oh Shuichi! I was so worried about you! Thank goodness!" she said as she opened her arms and hugged her son.

Shuichi gave Shiori a peck on the cheek, and he returned her hug. "I'm sorry, mother," he apologized for the worry he had caused on her.

"It's all right, sweetheart. You are safe, that's all that matters," Shiori said forgiving Shuichi. She gave him a peck on the cheek before breaking away from the hug. "Come on now, I have just made dinner. I made one of your favorite dishes tonight, and I'm sure Hiei will like it too."

Shuichi smiled at the thought of having his favorite dinner even if he liked every dish that Shiori made for every dinner. Also, Hiei would be joining him and his mother to eat the dinner. "That's wonderful. I'm going to wash up before I eat," he said, excusing himself to wash his hands in his bathroom upstairs.

Once Shuichi had retired the living room, Shiori turned to the quiet Hiei. "Thank you for bringing Shuichi back safe and sound, Hiei. You are a good friend," she said before changing the subject. "So, you haven't told me anything about yourself," she was more than interested to get to know Hiei.

"I rather not."

"Then, you happen to be a demon, right?" Shiori asked, and Hiei was quiet than ever. The human woman took the silence as a yes. "So it's true, then?"

"Yes, I am," Hiei said honestly because there was no point in denying his heritage.

Shiori gave Hiei an accepting smile. To her, Hiei was not like any other human. Something about him made him special. "It doesn't matter if you are. What really matters is that you are strong. Please, I ask you: stay with Shuichi and be there for him. He enjoys your company more than anyone else."

Hiei didn't understood what Shiori asked to him: a demon of all the existing creatures. He decided to pay no heed to the request from a mother that wanted the best for her son's life. After his time with Spirit World and the search for Youko Kurama was over, he was going back to the Demon World for good.

After Shuichi went back downstairs from the bathroom, he didn't found Hiei but instead his mother setting the table in the small dining room. He went to help her while she served dinner. When he was finished setting the table for three people, he approached her in the kitchen.

"Mother, where's Hiei?" he asked.

"He is in the living room. Can you go tell him that dinner is ready?" Shiori asked as she served the last bowl full of boiled vegetable.

Indeed, Shuichi went to the living room. He did found Hiei, sitting quietly on the sofa...as he had his eyes on a book. "What are you looking, Hiei?" he asked. He didnt pegged Hiei as the type to read a book.

Hiei didn't respond because he was absorbed looking at the book while he flipped one page after another page.

Shuichi could recognize those pictures.. His eyes went wide as saucers. "Is that my picture album?"

Hiei finally looked up from the picture album at the nervous Shuichi.

"H-how much did you saw?"

Hiei smirked upon seeing the reaction from the generally calm human. "I'm done," he said when he closed the picture album. He had seemed everything.

Shuichi's skin became whiter than paper itself. He had never been this shocked before. No one beside his parents had seemed his baby pictures until now. The world was coming to an end to him by Hiei looking how cute and adorable he was during his earlier years as an infant until becoming pre-pubescent.

During dinner, Hiei and Shiori ate dinner on the dinner table...

Meanwhile, Shuichi was as pale as ever. He was yet to get over the shock.

"Shuichi, dear, your food is getting cold," Shiori said to him so he would finally snap out of his trance.

NEXT DAY AT MEIOU HIGH ACADEMY:

Shuichi just got out of the building of his school. He said goodbye to most of his female classmates that went pass by him to go over to the school bus. He looked over to a particular, where Hiei stood with his arms crossed. He approached close to the fire demon.

"Hiei, there you are. How was your day?" Shuichi asked to him.

"Nothing much. What is it that you wanted to ask me?" Hiei asked because after dinner last night, Shuichi had asked him to meet up with him after school today.

"I want you to train me to be strong like you," it was Shuichi's request.

Hiei nodded with any hesitation. He thought that it would be a good idea to train Shuichi as a fighter and teach how to handle his demonic energy on his own. On the following missions, he was certain that there were going to be stronger demons than Nijiro. Having Shuichi capable of fighting with Kurama's ability would come in handy and less trouble for him. "Fine, but I have one condition. You must do everything I say."

Shuichi nodded to Hiei, accepting the condition. "I will do my best."

The two of them went to the abandoned park in the same city, which it was a fine place for training with no one to bother them.

"The first thing what we are going to do is learn about your demonic energy: how to sense other beings energy, how to rise it in battle and how to hide your energy so you won't get easily detected by others," Hiei said as he faced Shuichi.

Shuichi listened carefully to Hiei's instructions on each subject before practicing, and he did everything as told. He was able to learn quickly about managing his own demonic energy... Two and a half hours had passed since they have first started to do this. Hiei had told Shuichi to take a break since training non-stop with his energy had taken a toll on him.

"Not bad, you learn fast," Hiei commented being impressed for Shuichi's progress in learning to be a better fighter.

"I believe that is all for today?"

Shuichi had made Hiei a very good question...The fire demon suddenly disappeared in mid-air.

Shuichi blinked his eyes. Where had Hiei had gone to...? He wondered as he stood from his seat in the ground. He tried to sense for Hiei's energy around the area, which it was nowhere to be found.

He quickly turned around and blocked with own hands an incoming fist that was meant for him. Indeed, Hiei had reappeared from behind just to attack him with his black cloak off.

Hiei and Shuichi were fighting against each in a frenzy attack of continuous punches, blocks and kicks as they moved around their surroundings. While that, Shuichi tried to come up with a strategy because he wasn't planning to ever give up. Hiei tried to do the same thing since he liked to use strategy to increase his chances of winning. They were like this for almost five minutes...

Just when Shuichi was about to execute his strategy, Hiei had already read his mind that he was about to land a fist on the human's face. Out of reflex, Shuichi blocked, grabbed and pulled Hiei towards him that it caused him to lose his balance. Both of them fell into the ground: Hiei ended up on top of Shuichi with his hands in each side of his head.

"You were a bit clumsy on your attack moves…Although, I must give you some credit for at least blocking and having good reflexes," Hiei commented after a moment.

Shuichi panted a little from the intensive fight. Suddenly, his hands got grabbed with one of Hiei's hands and were put above his head. Hiei also sat on his abdomen. The situation was getting familiar to the human. He felt a little embarrassed: "Hiei, would you please have mercy and-?"

"And what you are gonna do about it? Suppose that I was that leader of those weaklings from the other day or that dark demon: how do you fight back?" Hiei stared at Shuichi for an answer. The purpose was that Hiei wanted to teach Shuichi on how to get out that kind of situation by himself without having to rely on someone else.

"I…I…" Shuichi was at a loss for words. He didn't know what to do himself in this specific situation, really.

Hiei leaned his face a bit close to the wondering human and made his hold on him a bit tighter. He had also leaned his body forward so his body was merely pressing with the human. "Well, what are you waiting for to get me? I'm waiting…" he said this time in a low voice, almost husky.

Shuichi tried to think for a clever way to get out of the situation that was created. That was until he felt Hiei's other hand slowly caressing his face in general and his soft hair. It was distracting yet…An emotion reflected on the ruby eyes. "Hiei, what are you doing?" Shuichi said because he didn't remember ever getting touched like this with his previous attackers.

Hiei leaned in to the left ear as he inhaled Shuichi's natural scent, which it was intoxicating. "Time's up," he growled softly for some unknown reason.

The emotion that Hiei reflected briefly on his eyes; Shuichi wanted to question it. "…Hiei…" he breathed.

Hiei's hand went under Shuichi's uniform shirt.

Shuichi blushed at what it seemed to be an intimate contact coming from the reserved fire demon. He wanted to protest since the action never happened with Yan or Karasu. However, he couldn't find the courage to tell the other to stop and slowly closed his eyes. He was starting to enjoy the contact as he felt the feather-feeling fingers tracing lightly one side of his lean abdomen.

Shuichi let out a soft moan, then one after another one: the fingers went up to his chest and pinched a nipple. Then, that same nipple was being rubbed between two fingers. The other nipple soon was given the same treatment by the same hand.

Shuichi's eyes opened, with his face flushed, to look at Hiei. Hiei's expression remained cool and passive while he touched him with his right hand. It was hard to tell what Hiei was actually thinking while he was touching him. "Hiei, um, what are you doing to me?" he wanted to know along with that emotion he saw on his eyes.

"I'm supposed to be them, remember? You are not supposed to be enjoying to be raped; in fact, you should be fighting your way out," Hiei answered while his hand decided to go downward to feel one of Shuichi's thigh area. That same hand then went from the side of the hip to behind just to feel and squeeze each of Shuichi's buttocks.

The answer made sense to Shuichi but still, the touching wasn't making any sense whatsoever. As if Hiei's actions were trying to speak louder than his words. "Sorry…I haven't really experienced a rape myself. And um…" he stopped talking when he felt Hiei's hand making its way to the front of his pants, touching him slightly. He shivered at the new growing feeling.

When Hiei was about to put his wandering and talented hand inside of Shuichi's pants: "So that makes you pure? No one has ever touched you like this before?" he asked before he could proceed.

Shuichi could only nod shyly to Hiei as his answer.

Hiei took both of his hands away from Shuichi. He lifted the uniform shirt all the way up to the chest. He witnessed that the human was actually enjoying every touch. He removed himself from Shuichi by sitting on the side. How he didn't notice before? He felt stupid. Now the human thought that he was attracted to him or something. Humans and demons were different from one another and not to be ever together in any way. He rationalized with this thought…

Then, Hiei felt two hands roaming on his arms, his taut abdomen…. The hands had moved on onto his chest. He could eventually feel a tongue on his right nipple.

Shuichi was situated between Hiei's legs. He had tried to give Hiei almost the same experience that felt good on him. It wasn't fair for Hiei to do everything, so he was trying to give the same experience back. He had stopped what he was doing to look a serious look on Hiei's face. He was confused. Hiei was supposed to look as if he was enjoying what he had just done to him.

"What were you doing?"

"I'm doing more or less the same as you were doing to me. It felt so good, and I kinda thought that you should enjoy it as well, Hiei," Shuichi explained to him in honesty.

"Stop at once," Hiei's voice was rather cold and indifferent.

"Why?"

"Don't get carried away by your curiosity. The fact is that demons rape female humans to then either eat it or kill them or both. In this case, you somehow can attract demons from a radius, and they have nothing but that goal in mind once they see you at first sight."

"But between us, it was different! As if—" Shuichi spoke but he had stopped talking when he looked down at Hiei's body and got surprised at what he saw.

Hiei noticed at what Shuichi was specifically looking at. He quickly stood up on his feet to search for his black cloak that was somewhere lying on the ground. He looked to another direction because he didn't want to face the human right now. "We are not doing this again. I can teach you to defend yourself from this situation in other ways. Come on now, we are almost leaving to your house," he said firmly before walking away.

Shuichi was finally able to regain his common sense. Hiei was right, and he tried to make the situation as real as possible for him. He was getting carried away by his curiosity to explore a demon's anatomy. Well, make that an attractive demon.

'Yes, that is true…I'll just pretend this never happened,' he said mentally, feeling a little bad on the inside. He almost hoped on what would have happened if the two of them kept doing it. He followed after Hiei so he could leave together with him.

Unknown to them, a slim figure was watching them from a distance. She had a very displeased look on her features. She couldn't believe Nijiro got defeated, and he had taken his life away when he was taken to Spirit World for questioning. It doesn't matter now that her time would come soon to take matters into her own hands.

"Hiei...I will get you and your pretty lover personally for this kind of humiliation. Just you watch now," she swore to herself as she gave an evil laugh. "You will be mine."

A/N: Hiei and Shuichi will finally work together on missions on the next following chapters!

I have an estimate that Yusuke, Kuwabara and Botan will probably appear in five chapters more or less (it depends more on how I cover every idea and details on each chapter). It will be like finishing between the Genkai saga and a prelude to the Saint Beasts saga to wrap, Shuichi, The Other Spirit Detective, the second saga of the fic to start the third arc.

Of course, we'll have more Yomi super-awesome-fun-time since he is quite the future and potential antagonist who happens to be plotting his scheme in advance in the fiction. Also, he wants Youko Kurama and/or Shuichi Minamino to be part of it. Enough said.

FYI: I'm following the anime and sometimes the manga to write this fic for directions, in which I make obvious references and perhaps spoilers, until I reach where I really want to take this.

Later!
