Okabe Rintarou was a man capable of many things.
Going up against villainous organizations threatening to take over the world?
Sure.
Repeatedly traveling back in time while enduring severe mental trauma in order to save his loved ones?
No problem.
Getting stabbed in the stomach before ripping the wound open even more in order to fake a crime scene and trick his younger self into accidentally discovering time travel?
Been there, done that.
But this...this…
This was a problem.
Okabe started the morning off with a very killer headache, and while he was no stranger to that, it wasn't due to Reading Steiner.
The phonewave was destroyed, and Okabe made very sure that the world would never come close to inventing another time machine. With the help of Daru, thousands upon thousands of documents were altered or erased while ongoing research projects pertaining to time travel were actively sabotaged. All of this done to make it so that the dystopian future of a SERN dictatorship or apocalyptic World War would never come to happen.
Without time travel, Reading Steiner couldn't have possibly been activated.
But then why did his head hurt so much?
Rubbing his forehead, Okabe let his eyes flicker across the room. The sight of littered beer cans and knocked over furniture gave Okabe a rather solid idea of what had happened. He was hung over.
He didn't really have any recollection of what happened last night, just a blank space in his memories.
Okabe clutched his head.
Damn, he needed water…
Moving to get out of the bed, Okabe froze in place when something else shifted beneath the bed sheets, letting out a quiet mumble before wrapping a pair of arms around his side.
It was then that Okabe realized he was very naked.
With increasing trepidation, the scientist slowly lifted the blankets, just enough to peek his head under, before his facial expression twisted in mounting horror.
Latched around his side was the slender form of a sleeping Kurisu, blissfully unaware of her surroundings.
She was also very naked.
But not only that, laying across the bed, were the sleeping forms of Suzuha, Moeka, Lukako, Faris, and Mayuri.
All of them, as well, were very naked.
Sweat started dripping down the sides of his face as the mad scientist known as Okabe Rintarou quietly voiced his thoughts.
"Shit."
"I. Am. Beyond. Fucked." Okabe slowly hissed into his phone, articulating each word in order to get his point across. "I need assistance Daru, over."
Itaru Hashida. Daru. Lab Member 003. Okabe's right hand man. The super hacker himself. They had a tight bond between men, forged over the past three years, and if there was anybody Okabe trusted to have his back, it was Daru-
"Nah, Okarin. The new eroge I was looking forward to is coming out." Daru's indifferent voice sounded over the speaker, "Deal with your messes on your own, over."
"Daru, if the past three years of our friendship mean anything to you, you'll-" Okabe was cut off when Daru hung up, leaving Okabe stranded and alone.
Fine. Fine. Be that way! The mad scientist Hououin Kyouma didn't need anybody besides himself. He was more than capable of dealing with problems by his lonesome.
Okabe glanced down at the girls who huddled around him on the bed. They were still asleep, which was good. Okabe could think of how to deal with the fallout of this catastrophe later. First he needed to leave, without waking the sleeping individuals on his bed.
Which was going to require a miracle, considering he was surrounded from all sides, and that Kurisu was currently embracing him, with the warm flesh of her body softly squishing against his-
NO. STOP. Don't think about it. Go down that path and you'll be ensnared forever with no hope of escape. You have to get out of here, Okabe Rintarou. Live to fight another day. Do not fall for these temptations.
Okabe shook his head. His will power was strong.
Kurisu snuggled up some more, causing Okabe's brain to short circuit.
Nevermind.
"Ah," Okabe looked up at the ceiling wistfully, "Is this the choice of Steins;Gate?"
I just felt like writing a Steins;Gate fanfic and spat this out over course of thirty minutes.
Don't ask why Suzuha is here despite there being no time machine or dystopian future.
Don't know if I'll continue with this. I'll keep this as a oneshot for now.
