Blathers was peacefully reading his book, a small radio provided by Alice playing classical music in the background. He smiled softly, basking in the warm sunset glow that came in through the windows. It'd been a peaceful day and he was quite content to sleep through it.
He flipped to the next page and blinked when Alice ran in, a newspaper in her hand. "Blathers! Blathers! There's news! You need to see it!"
He straightened up, sliding his bookmark in between the pages. "What's the matter?"
She panted softly as she stopped in front of him and quickly unfolded the paper, practically ripping it. "Dinosaur news! The spinosaurus!"
He gently took the paper from her and looked over the headline before gasping. "It had an eel-like tail? By jolly! This means it was primarily aquatic!"
She nodded rapidly. "It was! It may have been more like modern alligators than we realized!"
He quickly scanned over the paper, pushing his glasses up his nose. "We knew it was at the very least semiaquatic, but this means it wasn't just semiaquatic. It was predominately aquatic and would've swam alongside - or possibly fed on - the likes of ichthyosaurs and plesiosaurs. This is fantastic news and means so much to the scientific community. Oh dear, does this mean I need to rearrange the fossils. That means I have to move quite a few items. Oh dear, I have much work to do. Thank you very much!"
She giggled as he quickly padded down the stairs, fluttering slightly as his wings flapped. "Have fun, Blathers! I'll let you know of any updates!"
His voice sounded from the bottom of the stairs, "Yes! Thank you! Now, let's see, if I move this here..."
