Tarzan's other classmates Tyler and Akko come looking for him and Teeka also finds out that Tarzan is with Taug, so she goes looking for him as well. He and Akko encounter trouble in Dark Cliff in the form of Dana and the ghosts, but they are able to escape. She and Tyler eventually reunite with Tarzan, and the three become best friends once again. They leave the Dark Cliff, and the ghosts follow them.
Tarzan does not want to return home with them but he reveals that there are no monsters unless they happen to be dangerous to everyone involved. Dana and her ghost army overhear their conversation and learn it was Taug who was pretending to be the monster; he gets himself into trouble. The ghosts wreck Taug's cave in retaliation for scaring them. He leaves Tarzan for breaking Matt's promise and runs away, refusing to help him face the ghosts. Tyler and Akko run to go and warn Terk and Tantor. Teeka arrives near the Dark Cliff and also encounters trouble with Mama Gunda, Uto and Kago. Tarzan finally realizes that he is more than a smartass, he also gains a dagger to poke the ghosts, Taug comes to a similar realization, at which he returns to Tarzan and reconciles with him.
