That Old Black Magic – Louis Prima and Keely Smith
The young traveler in the green vest trekked through the forest on a mission from the village he had visited. The villagers wanted him to go into the forest and deal with a witch that had been causing trouble.
"Now I just need to find out where exactly in the forest she lives," said the green-haired knight-in-training with a sigh. He adjusted his sword before continuing on.
As he kept making his way down the forest path, he soon came upon a small cabin. Was this where the witch lived? Cautiously, he made his way to the door and knocked. He stood and waited, but after a few moments it was clear that no one was home. He was about to knock again, just in case, but…
"Ahem."
He jumped at the sudden sound that came from behind him. Whipping around and drawing his blade, he was ready to fight, but stopped when he saw what had scared him.
It was a girl. A girl with short purple hair and wore purple witch's robes and a purple witch's hat. She also had long silver earrings that hung down and rested on her shoulders. The girl was currently looking at him with a bored look and had her hand on her hip.
"So is there a reason you're knocking on my cabin door? Let me guess. Those idiot villagers sent you?"
The boy blinked in confusion as he took in everything. "Wait, you're the witch that's been causing trouble?"
The witch rolled her eyes. "Are you that surprised?"
"To be honest, yes," replied the boy. "The villagers told me that the witch was ugly and mannish looking."
She felt her eye twitch in anger. She was going to make those idiots pay!
"B-But I don't th-think the villagers ever met you before b-because you're actually v-very c-cute and p-pretty looking," stated the boy, looking down with a blush.
A blush also appeared on the witch's cheeks as she grabbed the ends of her earrings and tapped them together. Did this boy really say that? No one has ever said that about her before.
"S-So wh-what are you g-going to d-do now?" questioned the witch, making shy glances at the boy. Now that she got a good look at him, he was kind of cute.
"W-Well…could you tell me exactly why the villagers don't like you? You don't seem like a bad person to me," said the boy, looking at her with big green eyes.
She let out a sigh. "They think I'm too loud. I can use music magic and I like to come up with new songs, but they don't like that I can do that. It's one of the reasons I live so far into the forest, so I don't have to deal with them."
The knight-in-training frowned at the explanation. "That doesn't seem very fair to you."
The witch blinked in confusion. "Huh?"
"Just because you like to make music doesn't mean you should be ridiculed for it," explained the boy. He then gave off a pout. "Maybe I should have a talk with those villagers when I go back."
'Oh my god, he's adorable,' thought the witch as she looked at the pouting boy. Shaking her head, she regained focus. "No, don't do that. It'll only cause trouble for you."
"But…"
"Don't do anything," repeated the witch with a frown. "You…You're the first person who didn't see me as a nuisance, so I'd rather not hear that something happened to you for defending me."
The boy frowned once more. "Are you sure about that?"
"Positive."
He slightly fidgeted before he reluctantly accepted her plea. "O-Okay then. I…I guess I'll be leaving then."
Walking away from the cabin, he passed the girl as he made his way back. Before he could get too far though…
"Wait!" called out the witch. He turned back to find the girl facing him, but once again tapping her earring together. "W-Would you like to h-hear some of my m-music m-magic?"
"Wait, really?" asked the boy. Seeing her shy nod, he gave her a small smile. "I'd love to."
She had a small smile of her own as he walked back towards her. It was then that she realized something. "Oh! I didn't even get your name. I'm Kyouka Jirou."
"I'm Izuku Midoriya. Pleased to meet you, Miss Jirou."
"Just call me Kyouka, Izuku," replied Kyouka as she grabbed Izuku's hand, causing him to blush. 'He really is cute.'
She led him back to her cabin where she would entertain him with her music. As she played, it warmed her heart that he was so entranced with her music. She would be sad when he'd have to leave, considering he was the first person to love her music, but she would accept it.
That's why her heart swelled with happiness when he came back the next day…and every day after that.
