Money – Barrett Strong

Kyouka looked up at the abandoned looking building with a frown. Was this really the right address? This place looked like it should have been torn down years ago! With a grimace, she entered the building and made her way up to the apartment where her target was staying.

Upon finding it, she knocked on the door and waited. It didn't take long for her to hear the sound of footsteps and the turning of some locks. When the door opened, she was greeted by a very surprised greenie.

"J-Jirou-san? What are you doing here? Actually, how did you even find me?" questioned the man.

"I asked the Hero Association, Izuku, since they're the only ones who have your address," replied Kyouka, giving him a narrowed look, making him flinch. "May I come in?"

He looked hesitant, but relented and stepped aside for her. When she entered, she grimaced once more when she saw how bad the place looked.

"I-It's not that bad of a place, you know," said Izuku, rubbing the back of his head.

"Izuku, not even cockroaches would want to live in a place like this," said Kyouka in a deadpan tone. "Why the hell are you, the No.1 Hero, living in a dump like this? You should be living it up!"

He just shook his head. "I can't do that."

"Why not? You have loads of money to live somewhere decent!"

She watched as he looked away from her and tapped his index fingers together in a shy manner. "W-Well, the truth of the matter is that when I get paid by the Association, I only keep just enough to get by. Everything else gets donated to charity."

She had a blank look on her face as she looked at him. "Are you telling me that you're basically poor?"

"It's not like I wasted my money away! Besides, I didn't become a hero for money. I became a hero to help people!"

"But you still need money to live, Izuku!" shouted Kyouka as she glared at him. "You're living in a slum and I bet if I opened your fridge it'll be completely empty, wouldn't it?"

She didn't like how he looked away in guilt.

"J-Jirou-san, why exactly are you here?"

"Everyone was beginning to worry about you, Izuku, since NONE of us knew where you were living. Not even your own mother. Speaking of which, why didn't you just go back to live with her? It would have been better than this."

"I didn't want to burden her."

Kyouka could only let out a sigh of frustration. This man. "Anyway, I took it upon myself to check up on you. How know one thought to check with the Association for your address is beyond me, but that's beside the point. What matters right now though is that you can't live here anymore."

"…Wait, what?"

"You heard me. You're not living here anymore," repeated the shy rocker. "No one should be living here."

"Then where do you expect me to go? I already said I don't want to burden my mom, so that's out," said Izuku.

"Well…you can live with me," replied Kyouka with a slight blush. "I make more than enough money thanks to my concerts to support a roommate."

"Absolutely not."

That made her blush disappear and her eye twitch in annoyance. "Why not?! Is it because I make more money than you?!"

If that was the case, she was going to kick his ass despite the fact that he was the No.1 hero. This was no time for that macho bullshit!

Instead, she watched as he looked at her with a confused look.

"Why would I be embarrassed that you make more money than me, Jirou-san? I think it's awesome that you can be a hero and a rock star at the same time! B-Besides, the reason I'd have to refuse is because I don't want to burden you either."

Ah, there's the cinnamon roll she lo-respected! Yeah, respected, that's the word she meant. Her blush returning, she still needed to convince Izuku.

"You won't be a burden, Izuku-kun. I already told you that the money I make from my concerts is more than enough to help. So please, come live with me. At least until you can save up for a better place than this," said Kyouka, although she hoped he would just stay with her for good.

"…You're absolutely sure about this?"

"I wouldn't have offered if I wasn't."

Izuku let out a sigh of defeat. "Let me go pack my things."

Kyouka beamed happily as she followed after him to help. It didn't take long as the only things Izuku had were a few sets of clothes (his All Might merchandise was apparently at his mother's place for safe keeping). With clothes packed, Kyouka grabbed his hand (both of them blushing in the process) and the two left the apartment, heading off to Kyouka's and now Izuku's home. She couldn't wait!

Although she did make the promise to teach Izuku how to budget his money a little better so something like this won't happen again.
