Stormy Weather – Lena Horne
Winds blew, lightning flashed, thunder boomed, and it took everything Kyouka had not to yelp and tremor in fear. Oh how she hated thunderstorms, almost as much as she hated horror movies. Why couldn't it have started storming when she got back to the dorms where she could hide in her room?
"Wow! It's a good thing we were able to find shelter in this old warehouse, huh, Jirou-san?"
At least she wasn't alone. She looked over at the green-haired boy with her, who was currently watching the storm through the windows in fascination.
"What's so good about being stuck in a typhoon, Midoriya?" questioned Kyouka in a deadpan tone.
"W-Well, nothing really, but at least we didn't get caught in it and are relatively dry."
That was true. The moment they noticed the large black clouds coming their way, they quickly ran to find shelter.
"I still don't like this though," replied the rocker girl with a slight pout. It was then that a very loud thunder boom went off, causing her to let out a yelp of fear and latch onto the closest thing for protection…that just happened to be Izuku.
The boy wanted to blush. Having a girl latched onto him would do that to him, but he had to suppress it when he realized something.
"J-Jirou-san? Are you afraid of thunderstorms?"
It was Kyouka's turn to blush as she scrambled off of Izuku and pushed him away in embarrassment. "Wh-What?! No! Wh-Why would I be afraid of thunderstorms?"
Another blast of thunder made her go tense and let out a whimper.
"Jirou-san," said Izuku, looking concerned. "It's okay if you're afraid."
"I am not afraid," hissed out the girl, trying her best not to tremble in front of Izuku.
Izuku merely shook his head before walking over to Kyouka, who looked at him in confusion. She let out a squeak of surprise when he lifted her up into his arms and carried her bridal style towards one of the crates.
"Wh-What are you doing, Midoriya?!" she demanded, blushing hot red.
He jumped up onto the crate and sat down, placing the petite rocker onto his lap and held her close by wrapping his arms around her waist.
"It's clear that you're afraid, Jirou-san," said Izuku in a soothing tone. "So I'm going to make sure nothing happens while we wait for the storm to pass over."
Her face was still bright red as Izuku held her. Was Izuku, the guy who would freak out at close contact with a girl, really going to hold her the entire time the storm raged outside? She could feel tears building up in her eyes.
"…Why am I such a coward?" she asked.
"Being afraid of thunderstorms doesn't make you a coward, Jirou-san," stated Izuku. "It's only when you can't admit your fears are you considered a coward."
"That makes me feel so much better, Midoriya," replied the girl, her deadpan tone returning.
"The point is if you can admit that you're afraid of something, it's easier to overcome that fear," explained the green-haired hero. "Besides, I did say I wouldn't let anything happen to you, remember? There's nothing to be afraid of. Why? Because I am here!"
She could feel a giggle build up in her throat. He was such a dork and yet, she was glad he was the one she was stuck with right now. If it were anyone else they probably wouldn't have a clue on how to calm her down. Well, Yaomomo might, but that's beside the point. Right now, Kyouka snuggled against the cinnamon roll, as he tightened his hold on her.
"Thank you, Izuku," said Kyouka, her head lying on his shoulder. The thunder went off again, but this time she didn't even flinch.
"You're welcome, Jirou-san."
