Shoto lands on his feet, and activates his ice underneath them, freezing the villains to the ground and encasing them in ice. He looks around in panic as he scans for his sister, but he's alone. He takes a deep breath, and shoots a look at the villains who are now immobile. He ponders his thoughts for the plan the villains may have, and grunts in disappointment at the lack of a fight.
"Aren't you embarrassed to lose to a child? For God's sake, you're adults. Put up a real fight." He sighed, and stepped forward some as he continued, "So the plan was to scatter us, and then kill us. Well, you were woefully unprepared. In fact, it looks to me as though you've had no training. You haven't the slightest idea how to use your quirks."
He walks forward past the villains while pondering his thoughts. He knew Shiyo would be fine without him by her side, but it didn't stop his worry. They were always together, whether they were training, or just out shopping with friends. He maneuvered to the side and grabbed the villains staff that attempted to attack him from behind, and froze hm, as well as the one attacking him from the front. He sighed in disappointment, and yanked the staff out of the villains hands, causing him to fall on his face.
"Listen well," He spoke, unnervingly calm. The villains shuddered at not only the cold, but at Shoto's calmness, "If you stay frozen, your cells will slowly die as your body succumbs to frostbite and hypothermia. Luckily for you, I wanna be a hero," he raises his hand to the villains face, and the villains face fills with fear, "So I'd like to avoid any unnecessary cruelty, but I can only do that if you tell me how you plan to kill All Might. That's the only way you'll survive."
Shiyo stood up quickly, knowing her brother isn't in the room to back her up. Her worry was there, but she knew her brother would be fine. Bakugou stood up as he helped Kirishima to his feet, both scanning the room as villains slowly filed in cautiously. Shiyo breathed cinders and the villains paused, unnerved by the blue flames that escaped with Shiyo's breath.
Shiyo backed up slowly towards the boys as they gained sense of what was happening, "Its just us, guys. What's the plan here?"
"Just us? We can take them." Kirishima stomped as he activated his quirk, and took his stance. Bakugou smiled menacingly, and small explosions went off from his hands. He propelled himself forward into the small group of villains, yelling the only word Shiyo knew he would yell.
"DIE!"
Shiyo moved her foot slightly, coating the ground in ice, trapping the barefooted villains in their tracks. They turned to the girl, and smoke escaped her mouth again. The villains attempted to break their feet away from the ice, but as one tried, they grunted in pain as their foot started to bleed. They looked down in horror, as well as hopelessness as Shiyo sighed, "You can try to move, but have fun trying to stop us without the skin on the bottom of your feet." Shiyo smirked, "Go Kirishima."
Kirishima hardened his arms, and jumped into the group headfirst, going after the ones frozen to the ground first. He waved his arms into each villain he could, knocking them onto their backs and onto the floor. Bakugou continued to fire off explosions at what seemed to be random, but as Shiyo watched, she could tell his moves were precise, and calculated. She turned back quickly, and dodged a villain coming at her with a knife, and slammed him to the ground face first, expelling her frost flames from her hand in the instant he hit the ground, almost mimicking an explosion. She lifted her hand to reveal a burn, charring the mans back with pieces of ice, but the rest of the spot looked like a normal 3rd degree burn. The man didn't move in fear of being blasted again, but also to not cause himself more pain. Shiyo scanned quickly and thawed the floor as the barefooted villains had their feet red and bloodied as Kirishima and Bakugou knocked them unconscious. Bakugou didn't realize, but one villain had escaped his line of sight. Shiyo noticed as Bakugou was tackled. She ran over and kicked the villain off him, but she ended up kicking him as well. They fell into the wall, and Bakugou, sat for a second, recollecting what had just happened.
"WHAT THE HELL?" he yelled angrily, "Can't you fucking aim?"
"Bakugou!" She snapped, and his attention quickly changed.
The villain, who was still conscious much to Shiyo's surprise, jumped up to attack. Shiyo pushed Bakugou out of the way, and took the blunt of the hit. She doubled over in pain, but rocketed herself forward, tossing herself the villain. Almost like rag-dolls, they both fell into the ground. Shiyo slammed the villains head into the ground as they were coming back to consciousness. She stood back up, catching her breath through the pain.
"Shut the fuck up, blockhead!" She snapped back, "I'm depending on you, so stop being pissy and let's finish this!"
He stood up, and stared at Shiyo. His shock with Shiyo was from more than her saving him, it was how she handled it, yelling back at him like he was having a yelling match with himself. She wasn't anything like Shoto, and he looked around at his surroundings. She saved him twice. Twice. Bakugou's blood started to boil the more he thought about it. He didn't need saving. What the hell? Does she look down on him? Is she like Deku?
Bakugou blasted two villains into the wall in anger, and Kirishima knocked another into the ground. As Kirishima and Bakugou finished off the villains on the other side of the room, the last two villains on Shiyo's side of the room charged her with quick movements. Shiyo realized too late and was quickly taken by surprise. One distracted her, but the other went low, punching her in the stomach so hard that it blasted her into the wall behind her. She managed to grab the other villains upper arm, and she released her ice. The villain is quickly encased by ice, and fell onto the other. She landed against the wall with a hard thud, and the wall cracked behind her. She gasped for the air that was knocked out of her, and paused.
"Todoroki!" Kirishima yelled, running to her side.
She coughed up blood, and attempted to catch her breath. She moved one part of her body at a time, slowly, just to make sure nothing was broken. As she tested each part of her body, one last villain attempted to sneak up on Bakugou, but the boy was already prepared for them. Bakugou snatched the gecko-like villain, and slammed him against the ground. He blasted him once, stood up, and released his hand from his grip. The villain flopped to the ground, and Bakugou walked over to Shiyo and Kirishima.
Shiyo caught her breath, and took a few deep ones before moving too much. Nothing ached when she moved it, so she adjusted her position.
Bakugou grabbed Shiyo to her surprise, yanking her up off the ground by her collar, pushing her up against the wall with one hand with anger, as his other hand filled with small explosions. He stood in anger, and slammed her against the wall again in a fit of rage. Kirishima attempted to stop him, but Shiyo held up her hand, and stopped him. She coughed lightly, and blood trickled from her mouth and down her chin. She didn't speak and just stared at him with a monotoned expression, which made Bakugou's blood boil even more.
"You don't have the right to look down on me!" He yelled, his voice raspy from the smoke intake, "Just because you saved me, you can't look down on me like your brother does!" Shiyo's eyes widened, but she stayed silent, "YOU CAN'T LOOK DOWN ON ME!"
"Bakugou." She stated with her expressionless tone. The firmness of her voice caught his attention through his rage, and he met her gaze. He could tell she was hurting from her injuries, but she stayed content. "I didn't save you to look down on you. I saved you because you are my equal. You are someone that I can depend on if I need saving. If I can depend on you, I need you to know that you can depend on me. That's why I saved you."
Bakugou fell silent. His anger boiled down, and he put his head down, still holding Shiyo against the wall, clenching his fist with rage. She watched Bakugou as he picked through his thoughts. He thought back and went over what Shiyo had said.
'I'm depending on you!'
He slowly slid her back down the wall and to her feet. She wiped the blood off her chin, and looked up at Bakugou, who still had his head down, but met her gaze. She was stood up straight, and stood her ground. She didn't know what his next move would be, but he straightened up his back, and lifted his head back up.
The way he was thinking had changed. He looked at her as a copy of Shoto, but that had changed. She was blunt, but truthful, "You good?" Bakugou asked, almost like he was still angry, but with a sincere tone. He looked at her as she shifted, sighing at his actions. She saved him because she saw them as equals, and that baffled Bakugou, but started to give him a newfound respect for her.
Shiyo shifted, "Yeah, I think so." She attempted to walk, but grunted in pain as she tried.
Bakugou sighed, annoyed, and grabbed one of her arms as Kirishima grabbed the other. They put both of her arms over their shoulders to help her walk, "Stubborn ass. If you need help, just say so."
Shiyo was taken aback for a moment, but smiled. "Fine, you win Explosion boy."
"Shut up, Todoroki! I'll kick your ass!"
"And he's back." Kirishima laughed, and Shiyo smiled.
Bakugou scoffed as he and Kirishima helped Shiyo walk down the stairs of the building, and out the door.
Shoto scans around for any of his other classmates as he ran. The booms from AllMight's fight drawing him to the courtyard where Mr. Aizawa had been fighting. As Shoto scanned, Shiyo, Bakugou, and Kirishima had picked up their pace, Shiyo now being able to run on her own, although, blood continued to be coughed out of her mouth from the gut punches she had endured. The booms from Allmight's fight drawing them to the courtyard as well. Bakugou kept his eye on her as they ran, until Shiyo spotted her brother. They were across the dirt walkway opposite from one another, but she could see her brothers worry from there.
"Shoto!" She shouted, and Shoto's gaze spun to his sister. They both smiled, but Shoto quickly started to notice his sisters injuries. He spotted blood, and his smile quickly disappeared. He took off toward his sister in a hurry, and stopped as he started to see the bruising along with the growing amount of blood.
"What happened?"
Shiyo laughed nervously, "Disagreement, but it's okay now."
"Where were you warped?"
"The Collapse zone." She stated, and Kirishima lightly tapped his fist against Shiyo's arm, and smiled.
"Your sister is one tough cookie."
Shoto relaxed his worried expression, and smiled slightly, "Yeah, I know."
The booms from Allmight's fight shook the ground, regaining the students attention. Bakugou stared in the direction, and turned back to his classmates, "Come on, we have to go."
Shoto quickly took note of Bakugou's calmness, but the booms of Allmight's fight quickly took the students to the courtyard. Their running brought them to the outskirts of the courtyard. Bakugou surveyed the situation, and ran towards the fight. The twins and Kirishima quickly followed after him. Izuku running up to help Allmight was enough for Bakugou's blood to boil in anger. He jumped towards the warp villain, but the villain was prepared for it. The villain created a new warp-gate, and Izuku was jumping straight into it.
Just as Izuku was going head first into the villains warp-gate, Bakugou blasted into the fight, using an explosion to push the villain aside. Izuku stopped in shock, "Get the hell out of my way, Deku!" Bakugou slammed the villain against the ground, and set off an explosion underneath his hand. He turned to Shiyo and gave a nod, "Now, Todoroki!"
The twins quickly froze the giant creature within seconds of Bakugou's assault. Shoto scoffed as he and his twin stood side by side, "One of your poorly trained thugs said you're here because you think you can kill Allmight."
Allmight had noticed where the twins stopped their encasement of the villain, and managed to pry the hand out of his side. He jumped to Shiyo and Shoto's side, and grunted in pain. Izuku gasped from the sidelines, and with a worried tone, "Are you okay?"
Kirishima jumped in, and the villain with the hands covering his body dodged him as Kirishima missed his hit. "Damn! That was gonna be cool!"
"Guess I found your body that time, you smokey bastard!" Bakugou yelled with a menacing smile.
Shoto stood up straight, and glanced between the villains gazes, "The Symbol of Peace will not be defeated by delinquents like you."
Izuku looked at his classmates in shock as Shiyo and Shoto stood next to him, "Kacchan! Everyone!"
He wiped his tears, and everyone watched the hand villain closely. Shiyo looked at Izuku's hand, and saw his hand was covered by one of his elbow guards. He noticed my gaze, and looked down at his hand. Our eyes quickly went back to the task at hand, and the villain spoke, but it was inaudible to the twins. Bakugou, however, heard, and snapped back.
"You got careless, you dumb villain! It wasn't hard to figure you out." He explained, "Only certain part of you turn into that smoking warp gate. You use that mist to hide your actual body as a kind of distraction. Thinking that made you safe. That's why we missed. But if you didn't have a body, you wouldn't be wearing this neck armor, right? You aren't immune to physical attacks if they're well aimed." The villain attempted to move, but Bakugou set off an explosion, "Don't move!" He smiled angrily, "You try anything funny, I'll blow your ass up right now, you got it? They'll be cleanin' you up for weeks."
Kirishima chuckled from behind, "Oh, that doesn't sound very heroic."
The hand villain spoke, but it was quiet, or more like inner monologue, and turned to the creature, "Nomu." Nomu moved, pulling himself from the warp-gate, and the twins gasped.
"He shouldn't be able to move!" Shiyo panicked, but Shoto grasped his sisters sleeve, trying to keep her from panicking. Izuku turned to her in shock, and back to Nomu.
Nomu attempted to walk, but his leg and arm broke off. He attempted to walk again, but failed. He refocused his eyes, and the twins shuddered, "How is that thing still moving? He's all messed up."
"Stay back, everybody!" Allmight shouted, and everyone turned to him, panicking inside their minds. Shoto kept his eyes on Nomu as the ice shattered off the creature, and muscle mounds emerged from where the arm had been, as well as Nomu's leg. Allmight stood up, and Shiyo dragged her brother, and the others a few feet from the fight. "What's this? I thought you said his power was shock absorption."
The hand villain smiled, "I didn't say that was his only quirk. He also has super regeneration." Allmight grunted, taking a stance, "Nomu has been modified to take you on even at 100% of your power. He's basically a highly efficient punching bag that hits back."
Everyone braces, and Shiyo glances around to her classmates. "First, we need to free our method of escape."
Everyone reacts to what he said, and Bakugou and Kirishima brace. "Get him Nomu."
Within that one second, everyone was blown back. Shoto keeps his hand holding his sisters costume, and she kept a hold of his. Kirishima, and the twins yelp as they're blown backwards. They landed on their backs, but Shoto managed to stay on his feet. Kirishima stood up in a panic, as well as Shiyo. Izuku was still groaning on the ground.
As the smoke started to clear, Shiyo coughed, and Shoto patted her back a few times to help. Her coughing halted, and she snapped back to the smoke cloud as Izuku groaned on the ground next to her, "Such force."
The boom from the hit threw everyone into panic as they came to. "Bakugou!" Shiyo yelled, and Izuku gasped, yelling as well, "Kacchan!"
They quickly realized though, that Bakugou was sitting back next to them in a shocked state. Shiyo sighed in relief, and tapped his arm with the back of her fist. He quickly came to, gave Shiyo a nod that he was okay, and Izuku gasped in surprise, "Kacchan? Whoa, that's awesome! You dodged him!"
"Shut up, no I didn't, you damn nerd."
The face of realization swept over Shiyo's face, as well as Shoto's as Kirishima spoke, "Then how'd you get over here?"
Shoto gazed at his twin, and into the smokey abyss. Nomu sat there with Kurogiri in his grip, and the wall beside them, broken. Shoto gasped, turning to the clearing smoke, "Isn't it obvious?" he stated. He pointed to where All Might was being revealed from the smoke. All Might stood there, and grunted in pain, coughing as he kept his arms up near his face. They all watched in panic, and Izuku stared in worry.
Izuku gasped, "All Might!"
"These are kids," All Might panted, "and you didn't hold back?"
Shiyo tuned out the conversation, and turned immediately to Bakugou. She walked over to him, and held out her hand, "You aren't a floor mat."
He smirked, and took her hand. She yanked him up to his feet, and turned to Izuku. He had his eyes deadset on All Might as they talked. The hand guy narrowed his gaze, and the students braced as they got into their stances. Shoto and Shiyo stayed standing straight, unmoved as All Might and the villain spoke.
Shoto lowered his head with a glare as he noticed the hand villain chuckling, "We got them outnumbered." Shoto stated, and Izuku nodded.
"And Kacchan found the mist guy's weakness."
"These dudes may act really tough," Kirishima hardened his arms, "but we can take 'em down now with All Might's help. Let's do this."
"Don't attack." All Might's voice rang out. Shiyo shifted her gaze to him as his steps became heavy, as if there was a small earthquake underneath the students feet. The students gasp, and All Might held out his arm, "Get out of here."
Shoto raised his arm, ready to unleash his ice, "You would've been in trouble earlier if it weren't for me and Shiyo, remember? You need our help."
"Shoto." Shiyo spoke, and he turned to his sister, but All Might's voice deepened.
"I thank you for your assistance, but this is different." he stated. Shoto and Shiyo let their arms fall, "It's gonna be all right. Just sit back and watch a pro at work!"
Izuku's tone sounded more worried than before, "But you're too hurt. You're bleeding. And you're almost out of ti-" and he stopped. Shiyo took notice, and raised an eyebrow, but no one else seemed to notice Izuku's statement. Shoto, and the others kept their eyes glued on Nomu, Kurogiri, and the hand villain.
Izuku stepped forward, but Shiyo quickly grabbed his arm and yanked him back as the hand villain charged forward towards them. "Head's up, looks like we're fighting after all." Kirishima stated, and they all tensed as he charged towards them. Without a second thought however, All Might and Nomu collided their fists, and the second and third punches rang out, blowing the students, and the hand villain further apart from each-other.
Shiyo, and the others stayed knelt on the ground to keep from blowing back further as the wind from All Might's hits was kept constant. Izuku grunted, "He's gonna fight that brain guy head on?"
Kirishima and Shoto stood up and kept their balance as they stared at All Might and Nomu, passing punches as they watched, "Whoa, they're... so fast!"
Their punches sped up, and Izuku looked on in shock, but worry filled his expression. Shiyo took notice, and grabbed his arm, "He'll be fine. He's All Might after all."
They stood in awe as they watched All Might blast the final hit. Nomu flew out of sight as the building rumbled. Nomu was blasted into the roof, and went straight through. The students stood in shock as All Might took a relieved breath.
Kirishima stood up and looked at the gaping hole in the dome, "That was like the finishing move in a video game. He beat the shock absorption right out of him! I've never seen that kind of brute strength!"
Bakugou narrowed his eyes at the gaping hole, "Imagine having power like that. He must've been punching that monster so fast, he couldn't regenerate."
Shiyo and Izuku turned back to where All Might was, and stared. He stood up and smiled, "I really have gotten weaker." He straightened his back and put his fist on his chest, "Back in my heyday, five hits would have been enough to knock that guy out. But today, it too more that 300 mighty blows." He turns back to the villains, "You've been bested, villains." His booming voice shook Shiyo's insides. The villain shook with anger, "Surrender. We all want to get this over with quickly."
"He cheated."
"Whats wrong?" All Might's voice bellowed out, "Not attacking me? Didn't you say you were going to clear this level earlier? Well," His eyes narrowed, "Come and get me if you dare."
The villain took a step back, and seemed to shudder in fear. Shiyo stood there, monotoned expression alongside her brother, but Bakugou stared in disbelief. Izuku on the other hand, stared in worry once again. "Man, this is intense." Bakugou spoke.
"As I expected." Shoto stated, "There's no reason for us to fight now. He'll handle this."
Izuku stayed staring in worry however. Shiyo didn't move either, staring at All Might as well. She felt it in her gut. Something's wrong, and Izuku knew something she didn't, so she didn't move. Shoto looked at his twin, confused on why her sights were glued on All Might. The conversation between them drew out, and Shiyo realized it. All Might was bluffing, but why? The threats were empty. She stepped forward closer to Izuku, and Shoto shot his gaze to his sister.
"Shiyo, let's leave it to him." he stated, but it fell on deaf ears. Shiyo kept her eyes on Izuku, and All Might.
Shiyo's thoughts ran wild, 'Why is he bluffing? Why did he have to bluff an attack? What am I missing? What does Izuku know?' She watched his movements closely as the conversation between the villains ended, and the villains eyes narrowed. They took off, running at full speed towards All Might, and the villains surround the students, but Shiyo and Izuku's sights don't change. Shoto doesn't attempt to gain his twins attention again. There's something he can't see, and he knows that.
Izuku takes off forward, and Shiyo sprints in after him. Shoto, Bakugou, and Kirishima blink at the sudden moves, and by the time they have time to blink, Izuku and Shiyo had made their moves. Izuku's legs shook in the wind as he flew towards the villains. They were broken. Shiyo set off her Ice, but before Izuku could make it to Kurogiri's armor, the warp-gate switched to Izuku and the unnamed villain's arm went through it, ready to grab him. Shiyo ran towards All Might, but was swiftly knocked aside by Kurogiri. She slammed into the ground like a rag-doll, getting the breath knocked out if her, as well as a crack from her insides, but she jumped back to her feet anyway. She jumped forward to attack again, but was stopped in her tracks.
A gun shot rang out.
Izuku fell to the ground, and Shiyo quickly ran to his side. She looked up to the top of the steps, and the line up of teachers made Kurogiri and the unnamed villain shudder.
She smiled, "Oh, thank god." Shiyo turned her attention back to Izuku, and she lifted him slightly.
He groaned in pain, and Shiyo stopped, "Sorry, my legs are broken."
"It's okay. I can carry you if need be." She nodded, and she turned to All Might. He stood there, half of him was weakened, but the other half was still muscled.
"All Might," She spoke almost in disbelief, "How-"
Izuku tapped Shiyo, and she stopped. She snapped back into reality. 'This is why he bluffed. He really couldn't fight.' she thought. Izuku lowered his head, and winced in pain, "I couldn't do it, All Might. I wasn't able to help you."
Shiyo winced at the movement of her head as she turned back to Izuku, who looked up as All Might spoke.
"That is absolutely not true. You and young Shiyo gave me a few vital seconds. If not for that, I'd be dead now. Young Midoriya. You've saved me once again." he turned to Shiyo, "You as well."
"Thank you... All Might." Izuku teared up, and Shiyo looked down at Izuku, "I'm just, so glad that you're okay!"
"Same here." Shiyo smiled.
"Midoriya! Shiyo, hey!" the two turned to Kirishima running towards them. Izuku perked up, and Shiyo winced at the pain in her gut that still lingered. She sat back and looked at All Might, who has completely deflated from his muscle form. She wasn't as shocked, however, but she knew he would need to talk to her in the recovery room.
"Sorry, I can't get up." Izuku explained, and she remembered Kirishima. She turned towards him with blood trickling down her chin from the side of her mouth.
"And I can't lift him."
"What? Are you guys okay?"
All Might grunts in panic as he realizes he can't see him in his weak form. Izuku panics and switches his sight from All Might and Kirishima before yelling, "Kirishima, wait!"
Shiyo quickly catches up to speed, and raises her hand, "Stay back, Kirishima!"
A boom erupts, and a cement wall comes up between them, and Kirishima. Shiyo breathes a sigh of relief with a smirk, and turns back to Izuku. She grunts in pain as she lays down on the ground, not being able to hold herself up as the pain from the punches to her stomach become worse.
"Shiyo, are you okay?" Izuku asked, his eyes wide like a puppy, but worry was written all over his face.
"I think a few of my ribs are broken." She winced, "But as long as I lay still, I should be fine."
Izuku smiles, "Good, we can lay here in the dirt together."
She smiled back.
The gurney ride from the USJ was quick. All Might, Shiyo, and Izuku were snuck out of the building and taken in the same ambulance back to the school, being rolled into the nurses office with no interruptions. The door slid open, and Shiyo grunted in pain as she was lifted onto a bed in the office. Izuku was laid on the bed next to her, and All Might was helped to the bed closest to the door. Shiyo's back felt as if there was someone continuously punching it, and her guts felt like mush. Recovery girl sighed, and kissed Shiyo's forehead, healing the headache that was caused by Kurogiri. Her back seemed to dial back the pain as well, but not completely. She gave recovery girl a nod, and she moved on to Izuku, and All Might. Shiyo put her hand behind her, and lifted herself into a sitting position.
"Shoto's gonna kill me for intervening." She sighed with a smirk, "But I can handle a flick to the side of the head."
"He flicks you in the head?" Izuku asked, confused. She giggled, and nodded.
"It's just whenever I do something stupid near him. He thought it was hilarious when we were kids, and just kind of morphed into a way for him to get my attention or to stop doing something silly." She explained, and Izuku laughed into his hand.
"That's hilarious." He giggled, and Shiyo smiled.
"Well," Recovery Girl started, "I won't scold you for him being back in here since it wasn't your fault."
All Might grunted, "I can't be sure yet, but I think I shortened my time limit again with that fight." Izuku gasped, "I hope I can at least still hold the form for an hour."
"I'm so sorry." Izuku apologized, and Shiyo sighed.
"I still don't fully understand, All Might." She explained, and he turned to her, "Why did you bluff when you know you couldn't fight? And what's with this weak form?"
All Might sighed, and sat up, "My power is depleting." Shiyo stayed quiet, her eyes widened in horror, but All Might continued to explain. "My quirk is called One For All. It's a quirk that can be passed down from one person to another. I passed it to Young Midoriya, and its been depleting ever since. An injury a few years back basically destroyed my respiratory system, and I could only hold my form for three hours. Since I passed it on to young Midoriya here, its depleted even further the more I use it."
Shiyo sat in complete shock and disbelief, but she knew he was speaking the truth. She was piecing it together as he spoke. The time limit and what Midoriya had said. The bluff and the time limit. Midoriya's worry. It was all true.
"If you could keep this to yourself-"
"Of course I will." She stated, her voice stopping All Might's sentence with no hesitation. He smiled, and gave her a nod.
"Thank you."
