9. Chapter 9

Hi I bet you weren't expecting this fanfic to pop up in your email…Due to the death murder virus closing the entire country down, I am forced to sit in my house, play video games, ranch cows, and shoot guns. While those last three are quite fun my Playstation broke, bullets are too expensive to keep replenishing, and cows get boring over time. So i figured, Hell! why don't I just write a chapter of that fanfic I was writing. Of course the story has been in my head since I wrote the last chapter, so I knew instantly where to start everything. I will try to get a few more chapters out, but I start summer classes in a week so no promises. Enjoy and review what you think!

Open Ocean between Uzu and Fire Country 3 weeks later

"Uhg hold the rope! We need to keep the mast from ripping off!" yelled one of the sailors as he and his fellow crewmen fought tooth and nail against mother nature. The captain of the ship and leader of the crew in question had a withered face and gray hair to match. He held on tightly to the wheel as rain pelted him and the ship like bullets, and the wind howled around them, threatening to rip the ship apart. He watched his second in command bark out orders to the men in order to keep the Weeping Willow afloat and towards its destination of Wave Country.

'It is bad enough that we were several weeks late.' He subconsciously flinched at the thought of when the party that chartered his boat came aboard. To say they were pissed would be an understatement. He shook those thoughts and went about his next actions. "Jin! take control of the wheel, I need to talk with the clients about moving north to avoid the rest of the storm!" yelled out the captain. Jin merely nodded his head then took the place of the captain, still barking out orders to the men below. 'Such a fine lad. He will make a nice captain one day.'

Once he made it below deck to the massive passenger bay he ignored everything else around him and made his way straight towards the party's leader. The man with bright blonde hair and blue eyes. "Minato, I know you wanted to make port in Wave country, but with the worst part of the storm about to hit us, the best course of action would be to ride the current heading north. It will put us closer towards Grass and Rice country, but we will hopefully outrun the most dangerous part of the storm." After the captain was finished speaking Minato just smiled. Not a real smile, but the kind of smile that reeked of disappointment or dissatisfaction.

"I am sorry Captain, but we simply cannot do that. You see all of us are not really…welcomed in that part of the world. We continued on the planned course. It is bad enough you and your crew were almost 2 weeks late." Minato's fake smile fell and a frown took its place.

The captain was flabbergasted. 'Who exactly are these people? Were they so disliked that they are willing to risk their lives in a storm?' He looked around to see the other reaction to the information. The red headed women and her child seemed to be indifferent, and the ninja escorting them seemed to follow the blonde's words as though it was law. Before the captain could say anything he heard shouting from the deck. "Captain come quick!". It was Jin. 'What could he possibly want?'

As the old captain made his way out of the protection of the lower decks he was once again pelted by the rain. Once he reached the helm of the ship he could see the distress of his second in command. "Jin! what seems to be the problem boy?!"

"Sir look!" shouted Jin, he pointed towards the starboard bow off into the distance and the captain had to squint his eyes and use both hands to block out the rain.

After a minute of looking he finally saw what he was supposed to see far out in the distance. "What that heck! Is that a damned island!?" The captain then pulled out his map that had a cheap seal on it that prevented it from getting wet. One of the best purchases he has made. 'What the hell? there shouldn't be any islands on the route…there are some to our north west…but that would mean…we are off course!' He looked up from his map and saw more and more land appearing out far in the distance. Far too much land to be an island. "Wait a damn minute…that cant be!" The captain continued to look down at the map and made a startling realization. 'Thats no island! it-it's the mainland!' He looked up in complete shock. He tuned everything out as he saw Jin shouting something at him and then to the crew and they all scattered about in a terrified fashion, but he ignored it in favor of looking at the map. 'How the hell is this possible? We aren't near Wavy Country, I know that…' He started scribbling notes about where they could possibly be on the map, and after a few seconds it was narrowed down to only 2 options. 'Okay we're either near Rice Country or it didn't push us as far north and we are near R-'

He couldn't finish his thoughts as he and the entire ship were flung out of the water in a violent collision. Once he made contact with the water he could feel his body shutting down due to his old age and the shock of the cold water engulfing him. 'You win.' he thought. 'After so many years of trying to kill me you finally did it mother nature. you win.' He closed his eyes as his body sunk deeper and deeper in the darkness of the water.

Unknown Shore Several Hours Later

Minato never really enjoyed the ocean as much as he should. Water? He loved it, he often fantasized about taking Naruto and Kushina to a nearby lake and just enjoying life and having a fun time. Of course that was no longer possible. 'perhaps with Eri? We can still have that fun day…We just need to get home first.' He had no idea where he was. All he knew was that it was not Fire Country. The types of oak he was seeing did not grow that far south. Minato looked around and took in the scene. The grains of sand clung to his still wet clothing and the scattered planks of wood that had come off of the ship once it had impacted the nearby reef. The rain did not let up after the wreak and had only intensified. He looked towards where some of the survivors were. None of the crew survived, and the only reason they did was because of his quick thinking and their ninja training. To say he was terrified for the first few minutes when he did not know if Eri, Rin, or Kushina survived would be a gross understatement. He saw Rin caring for Eri who had cried herself to sleep. 'Makes sense…she's just a child and that was quite terrifying.'. They were both resting on a random crate that had also made it from the ship. That was where most of the survivors were. just taking inventory of what and who they had loss. He was broken from his thoughts as both Kushina and Genma walked up to him. Minato chucked at the large frown on Kushina's face. "Still haven't dried off? I thought all Uzumaki loved to be around the ocean?"

She instantly had a fire lit in her eyes and her hair separated into 9 different tail like strands."You asshole get back here and Ill show you how much the Uzumaki love water!" Genma chuckled as Kushina tried her hardest to destroy the man she loved.

After a few minutes later Genma had to save Minato by telling Kushina they had to plan. After walking a few steps away and Kushina went towards Eri to comfort her child as she went through the traumatic experience of surviving a shipwreck. "Lord Hokage we lost most of our men in the wreak and storm…We only have 9 people including us, your family, and Rin." Genma had a tear in his eyes. He had grown up with most of those ninja and had bounded with them over the 12 almost 13 year long period. He looked up as Minato put a hand on his shoulder to comfort him.

"Its okay Genma, we will get through this and they will all have their names on the memorial stone." He paused to let Genma take in that information. "Right now what is important is that you and the other protect my family, while I go to the nearest town to see where the hell we are."

"Yes Lord Hokage." replied Genma as he watched Minato go through a few hand seals before applying a very powerful henge. Now Minato looked like a painfully average man with flat brown hair and no stand out features at all.

"Now that that is done I will be back in a few hours. Tell Kushina where I am going." Genma nodded as Minato jumped into the forest that lied just beyond the shore.

Nearby Forest an Hour Later

After a few minutes of running and jumping through the trees Minato was able to find a major road that was of a decent size and seemed to well maintained. 'These tracks seem to point to a settlement or a town if I head north.'

So he walked for an hour at a civilian's pace and the closer he got to where he thought was his destination he decided to put on a powerful chakra suppression seal, to sell his henge even more. He was glad he did because after just 30 minutes after applying the seal he felt several presences coming towards him at a rapid acted normal and didn't react when he saw 4 white blurs fly past him in the trees. 'Kumo nin!?' thought Minato. 'Great, that can only narrow down how many places we ended up in and I am not looking forward to finding out now…', but he carried on. In order to find the way home he had to find out where he was starting in the first place.

Eventually he made it over a large hill and found his destination. A Large port city that from a distance seemed to be quite busy with trade ships and military ships docked all around the bay and in the port itself. 'Lightning's navy' thought Minato. "Hmm well I might as well try and get a few supplies for the rest of the journey…they wont even know Im there."

An Hour later

Minato embraced the sounds of bustling marketplace as he made his way back towards the southern most gate of the town. Through some good old fashioned investigating and clues found around the town, he found out he was in Rakubi. The one place where Kumo would be focused on right now. 'just my luck that this would be the one place we would end up,' Minato apologized as he bumped into a little kid that was playing with his friends. 'At least that means that there is at least a force of Leaf nin somewhere nearby, that is if Rin's report is still up to date…' He was broken out of his thoughts when he stopped in front of a clothing shop.

"The Stormy Dragon?" Minato asked out loud.

He heard bell jingle and out came an old man, who was clearly a tailor with a smile on his face. "Hello Mister come in and check out our wares!"

Minato started to rub his hair in an embarrassed fashion and smiled. "No thank you kind sir, I don't need any clothes today…Although I wouldn't mind finding something for my daughter…" He trailed off and thought about a gift as a way of saying 'congrats on training so hard.' If there was one thing that came out of Naruto's death it was the fact he always pampered his only child.

The man looked on in a confused manner. "But sir what do you mean you do not need any clothing? Your cloak is soaking wet!"

It was then that Minato took a worried and surprised expression. 'How can he know that? My hedge covers my kage cloak!'. Wanting to change the subject and move the conversation inside, Minato agreed to come into the store to buy some clothing. Just minutes after they went inside a squad of Storm nin passed by the shop on their way towards their shift on the border with Fire Country, each of their masks resembling a bird.

While Minato was busy trying to figure out how the old man saw through his hedge. He saw something that snapped him out of his thoughts… It was special outfit that was displayed in a glass case. The outfit was composed of a black camo print flak vest that fit nicely over the thin blood red and black jacket, the Black Forest ANBU Pants looked good with the rest of the outfit as its black camo print would help the wearer blend in to dark, natural backgrounds or environments. While the sandals and two back pouches were standard for shinobi It still looked good with the rest of the outfit. Minato also noticed a slot in the jacket for a katana or short blade. While the outfit looked really nice what surprised him was the name of the outfit. "Uzumaki Special?" questioned Minato. With speeds that looked almost as fast as himself the Tailor was immediately right next to Minato to explain.

"Yes, this is one of mine, if not my best work! Micro weaved fibers and integrated metal plates in the jacket and flak vest will protect against traditional blades and kunai, the pants have integrated knee pads and additional padding to help comfort the wearer when crouched down, and the fabric and pocket layout is the same as Forest ANBU, so you know it is effective!" The man clearly spoke with great passion about his creation and it was clear it was designed with great care.

Minato inspected one of the metal plates in question that was on display and he was quite impressed with its workmanship "These plates are very well made…Who did you get to make these?

"Oh thank you, but I crafted them myself…I use to be something of a blacksmith you could say back in the day, but that is old, almost forgotten history now." Minato raised his henged eyebrow, Minato knew enough about blacksmithing to know this was no ordinary work by an amateur blacksmith. His special kunai took the work of nothing short of a master in order to be battle ready. But Minato put that information aside for now as he wanted to know only one thing.

"Why is it called the Uzumaki Special?" The old man's face brightened up even more if it was even possible.

"Why it is named after a young man who saved me and my grandson *Inari's life! We were attacked by bandits on our way to settle here, and he charged them with only a rock and came out on top! He even led us back to the town and all he asked for was an outfit fit for a legend. I designed it for him and have been selling it to a few of the richer genin that the village produces. The young boy's name was Naruto Uzumaki!"

Minato paled. He started to sweat and had to make sure this wasn't some cruel joke. "Wh-what did he look like exactly?" The old man squinted at him as if he was judging him worthy of the information or not.

"Well, he looked like a younger version of you Shinobi sir." Minato's eyes widened in shock. Minato couldn't breath or think once he heard the next thing. "But the only difference were the set of 3 whisker like marks on each of his cheeks"

Now Minato was on the verge of fainting, but was beyond excited at the prospect of finding his son, but these thoughts were deflated when the old man spoke again. "Of course he isn't in the town anymore… he left soon after and we never saw each other ever again." Minato deflated and it was obvious that Naruto's trail was cold. 'But not dead!' he thought with glee. He was already planning on leaving quickly to tell Kushina the good news when a thought entered his head.

"Hey old man do you have this outfit in a smaller size and for a girl?" The old man merely smiled in response before leading him into the back room.

South Gate 40 minutes later

Minato had several sets of the Uzumaki Special sealed away ready for his daughter, and a few provisions to see them the rest of the way to Fire Country's borders. It was clear they would need to move at a civilian's pace in order to avoid the constant shinobi and samurai patrols that were constant. He was sure he had been almost found out several times but it appeared to be a false alarm each time. Now all he had to do was make it past the gate guards again and he was home free.

He was so caught up in his thoughts about Naruto being alive and his daughter's new outfit that he didn't realize the guard was calling to him. 'Shit! time to improvise.' The guard that stopped him was a large bulky man in standard Chunin attire, he was an oddity in Kumo given most of their shinobi were thinner and more agile than this man.

He spoke with a rough and clearly battle hardened voice, "You there! you should pay attention to your surroundings! where are you heading?"

Minato pulled off his trade mark smile and rubbed his head sheepishly. "Ah my apologies shinobi sir. I am merely thinking of what I am to do for my wife and I's anniversary, that I forgot about. Surely you can understand?"

The guard shook his head knowing the plight of every man known as a wife. He had his waiting in Kumo after all. "Fine I would ask for your ID, but I doubt you will be alive by tomorrow morning!" he laughed at his joke and waved him though.

As Minato was a little ways away the other Kumo nin on duty walked up to him. "hey Shi, you think that was a good idea? you should have probably checked his ID."

"Ah lighten up will ya? Who do you think he could have been? The Fourth Hokage?" Both of the men laughed at the joke, not realizing how right they were.

The Shore, some Hours Later

Once Minato was sure he would avoid any upcoming patrols, he released his henge and had run non stop to his wife to hell her the good news about their son. Once he finally broke through the tree line and onto the shore, he immediately called for everyone to gather what little of their things that survived the crash and to get ready to move out soon. Kushina walked up to her husband with a curious look on her face.

"What that look on your face for? You look like you struck the lottery?" She had a small smile herself as that was one of her favorite features about him. His addictive smile.

"Kushina…I found a trace of him…he's alive!" He shouted that last part a little too loudly and everyone on the shore stopped what they were doing in order to listen in to what they were saying…they were ninja after all.

"Minato slow down…whose alive?"

"Naruto! I found a guy who was saved by Naruto!" Minato had a smile so bright his eyes were closed. That was why he didn't see the fist that was about to impact with his head.

Minato was in the center of a small crater on the beach. Sand was all over him and he was disoriented. He looked up to an enraged Kushina with fire in her eyes and her hair in the form of the nine tails. "Ku-K-Kushina…why are you mad?"

"Minato! You idiot that is not something to joke about…the death of our son is not something to make fun of!"

"N-No Kushina you don't understand its true. I found a man who was saved by him and even designed an outfit for him, look." He showed her the outfit he had bought from the old man and her eyes started to water up as she cried her eyes out for several long minutes. Even Eri and Rin were tearing up a little at the revelation that Naruto was alive. Eventually everyone left the couple alone to cry their tears of joy and finish packing.

Border between Fire Country and Rakubi 3 hours later

Naruto used one of his hands to block the seemingly never ending rain from restricting his vision. His team was on another rotation to the border to watch out for any incursions by the Leaf nins. While the past couple of rotations have been boring, Naruto and his team had a very early baptism by fire. Shortly after reporting to the commander who was in charge of the Kumo forces in the region, Hada Eizo, they quickly found themselves fighting with squads of Leaf chunins. Both Naruto and Darui had their first kills in the first skirmish and were given a tough lesson by Hada himself about how to get over the idea of killing someone. C had his first kill just a few days later. After getting over their shock from killing, while their identities were unknown,

the team quickly became well known among both the Kumo and Rakubi shinobi for their team work and ability to take down teams of jonin and even fought off a team of ANBU, despite their young age and previously being inexperienced.

"Man this sucks!" exclaimed Naruto. He was wiping the water off of his mask's eye holes for what felt like the hundredth time. "I mean it doesn't make sense! We have seals on our cloaks to prevent us from getting wet, so why cant we get that for the masks?" C just rolled his eyes and ignored Naruto in favor of keeping watch over the clearing they were tasked with watching. While the actual border was the tree line opposite of the clearing, they were staying back in the tree line that provided the team the most cover.

While Darui had a high level of patience, he didn't have the same level as C. "Shut up Naruto, your complaining isnt making this dull situation any less dull." That seemed to be enough to shut Naruto up and went back to thinking about how being deployed to Naju wouldn't have been as dull. Naruto was about to respond, but was shut up by C when he lifted his hand up in the air to show he's sensed someone.

"Ive got at least 5 unknown people heading towa-wait scratch that, Ive got 9 people, who are being tracked by a squad of chunin. They are heading towards us at a rapid pace….I think they will right on top us in about 2 minutes."

"Naruto, beware there are two chakra signatures that are quite familiar to me, but I cannot quite place where…be on our guard."

Naruto immediately switched demeanor as his body stiffened as he switched over to leader mode. And even though it was covered by his mask, Naruto's face was covered with concern over what Kurama said. "Okay guys be careful I think these are not the ordinary Leaf scum we typically deal with…" Once Naruto said that the other two members of the team stiffened as a sign that they were ready.

C thought for a second before saying in a whisper, "Alright guys, because we will be having reinforcements already trailing right behind them Im thinking formation 3 and attack plan E would be the best way to go." Both nodded, and while Naruto was the unquestioned leader of the team, it was C who often made the tactic for them to use.

So they got into position and waited for the Leaf nin to appear in the clearing for them to ambush them. The only sound that was heard was the rainfall and the sound of the rain droplets hitting against the porcelain masks of the 3 Storm nin. If Darui could hear right, he could make out Naruto still grumbling about the lack of a seal on the masks.

Suddenly C rose his hand so that the other two could see and using his sensor ability he was now expertly tracking their chakra. He flashed a series of signs that meant nothing to those who did not know the code, but to Naruto and Darui, it was their second language.

'The Leaf are almost here now. Only 7 are there now, but the other two are holding back our chunin.'

Before either Dauri, or Naruto could think much of it C flashed more signs. 'They are about to break the tree line get ready! 5.' Naruto readied the first wave of kunai that would kick off the ambush. '4.' Darui got ready to deactivate his chakra suppression seal that the other two had as well, in order to hide from Leaf nin. '3'.' C started mentally going over back up plans should they need one. '2.' Naruto felt the chakra now and Kurama was going a little crazy saying something about it being 'him', whoever him was. Before C could even flash the final hand signal, 6 blurs crashed through the tree line.

Naruto threw 7 kunai in a fan like motion so they all flew well in front of the retreating force and detonated the explosive tags that were tied to the handle. The explosion forced the 6 figures to stop and allowed Naruto and Darui enough time to land in front of them. It also gave C time to further investigate who they were about to engage in combat. 5 of them seemed unremarkable and didn't know who they were. But the other two made his blood run cold. "Wh-W-What the fuck!? Is that….t-the Fourth Hokage and the Bl-Bloody Habanero!?" He knew he had to inform his teammates, and get them to fall back immediately. "We will be slaughtered if we fight them!"

Darui were having similar thoughts to C "I-is that the Fourth Hokage!? Ugh I knew Naju would be way less dull than this bullshit!", but regardless he knew he would be forced to fight until either Naruto called them off, or C could come up with a plan to fight this menace.

Naruto, however had different thoughts. "There is no way you are really the Fourth Hokage. Nice try there, henging into him in order to scare us off, but unfortunately that little plan will not work!" Naruto took out a kunai and pointed at the Fourth Hokage. "Now you have trespassed on Kumo territory, Leaf nin, surrender now, or by the order of the Fourth Raikage you are to be executed!"

Minato chuckled. He knew the two ninja that Genma left behind would hold their rear, so he wasn't too worried. He could sense several Konoha ninja watching the situation unfold, so he knew eventually he would get some help here. While he couldn't physically see them as their masks and cloak prevented that, he could still tell from these Storm nin's height that they are both just kids…no older than what Naruto would be. It truly was a shame that he had the fight them, maybe he could just knock them out, but it had to be fast…Kushina would have to focus on keeping Eri safe from the battle at hand. "Well you seem to be confident that I am not who I appear to be." As he said this he slowly pulled out 10 of his special kunai and was about to throw them when he said "Allow me to show you the power of the Yellow Flash!" as he finished his sentence he flung all 10 kunai all across the field and knew this battle was already won. He powered up a rasengan and disappeared in a flash.

Minato appeared right behind Naruto and rammed his signature jutsu right in his gut. Naruto was launched back towards C, who was still in the tree line. He crashed through several layers of trees before coming to a stop, and as far as C could see…he wasn't moving. "Eagle! Shit! Hawk we need to signal for help!" But Dauri was already finishing the hand signs for a lightning jutsu that would act as a flare for the other Kumo nin in the area. And just like that a shot of black lightning shot up high into the air and bursted into an elaborate explosion of color, that could have been mistaken as a firework.

Minato cursed himself for his stupidity and arrogance. "Shit! Kushina, get Rin and Eri to the leaf nin over there now! Ill cover you and be back in a flash!" As he finished his sentence he flashed her a smile and appeared right behind Dauri. He was about the slash him in the back with his kunai, but a timely block by C's Wakizashi allowed Darui time to the react and use a jutsu.

"Black Lightning style: electric shot!" yelled Darui as a concentrated bolt of black lightning shot out from his finger tip and went towards C and Minato, but right before it made contact C disengaged his blade and allowed the shot to his Minato dead on.

C glanced over at Dauri, who seemed unfazed by the powerful jutsu he had just used. "Did we get him Hawk?" Before he could even get a response they both heard Minato chuckling.

"No. you most certainly did not get me with that…but nice try though. It is clear you team work is top notch, my student Kakashi would be quite proud of you." He stood tall next to one of the other kunai that was scattered around their side of the clearing. He glanced back and could see Kushina and the others reaching the Leaf nin that were watching from a distance. It was clear that the two remaining Storm nin were scared to fight him. As they rightly should. "Well that was a nice little dance, but I much be on my way…send Ae my regar-" Before he could finish he had to dodge one of his own kunai from impaling him in the head. He glared in the direction that the kunai came from and saw the eagle masked Storm nin standing a little ways away from him breathing a little hard, he lost his cloak and his chest plate seemed pretty damaged. Other wise he seemed okay While Minato couldn't see passed his cracked mask he could tell he was pissed.

"That was a nice little trick you pulled there…You might actually be the Fourth Hokage, but that changes nothing! You will be put down for trespassing!" Minato raised an eyebrow at this declaration.

"Im not gonna lie kid, I'm surprised you are even alive right now. I know I put a lot of power behind that rasengan." Naruto merely laughed in response and flashed a couple of hand signs to his teammates.

He didn't know what he was saying, but the other two lost their fear and they reengaged the blonde haired hokage. The next thing he knew all three of the ninja disappeared and launched a perfectly synced assault. 'Shit they are fast!' thought Minato as he had to dodge a wind bullet from Eagle, a black panther made of lightning from Hawk, and a fireball from Falcon. His eyes widened when after dodging the panther both the wind bullet and fire ball collided and continued to burn everything in its path, with the heating being enough to turn rain drops to steam before even reaching anywhere near the ball of death. 'Shit they were too quick to launch a combo attack! I need to dodge this now!' Minato was to caught up in his thoughts to notice Naruto flash through a complicated series of hand signs before slamming his right hand flat onto the wet ground. While it looked like he didn't do anything Minato was now freaking out. 'Why cant I use any of my kunai on the field!?' How did they get disabl-' He couldn't finish the thought as he was engulfed by the burning inferno.

"Okay good job team." said Eagle as the rest of the team stayed on their heels expecting a counter attack. "Now lets try and get those others befo- Shit!" Eagle exclaimed as he narrowly dodged the kunai that flew right next to his head. Before he could even see what was happening Minato flashed to the kunai as it was next to him and shoved an overcharged** rasengan into the Storm nin's mask and driving him several feet into the ground and causing a very large crater to form.

"No Eagle!" shouted both Hawk and Falcon as they watched their team leader and friend get absolutely destroyed by one of the most powerful men to ever exist. Hawk flew through hand seals as he coated his now unsheathed blade in black lightning chakra. He ran towards the Hokage ready to slice him in half.

'I need to do something!' thought C. He then flew through hand seals of his own in order to do something he has not yet tested in a combat situation. He molded his chakra to launch his fire chakra towards the Hokage, but also readied a genjutsu in order to disorient him enough to a hit to land.

Minato realized something was off when several Hawk faced Storm nin appeared out of no where. 'He is talented, but I doubt he knows how to do shadow clones without hand seals. That can only mean genjutsu!' He tested his movement and quickly realized his movement were over exaggerated by half. So with no time to dispel the genjutsu, Minato simple compensated for the genjutsu's manipulation and saw the fire ball coming towards his left so he jumped to the right to dodged both attacks, or at least that was what was suppose to happen. Of the 5 Hawk figures rushing Minato, he had sworn they had originated from the middle one, so it made sense that he was the real one, and the one he had to dodge. Minato widened his eyes when it was the far right that didn't fade away and was in fact the one that was in fact the real one. 'What! how is this possible! I saw the- that Falcon one did a triple layer genjutsu while doing ninjutsu as well!? that is impressive!' Before he could even flashed away to safety he felt the lightning enhanced blade make contact with his right shoulder. He yelled in pain and in reacted by kicking away Hawk, where he made contact with a tree. Minato glanced over at his shoulder and knew it wasn't good when his right arm and shoulder were spasming due to the lightning chakra embedded in the wound. 'Shit, now I really need to ge-!'

Everyone was frozen when they felt the overwhelming presence. "W-what h-how is this possible!?" Minato's eyes widened and his other hand started to tremble a little and he now started to sweat. "I haven't felt this power since… th-the Nine-Tails attack!" Minato looked over at where the power was originating from and he paled. "I-is that kid a jinchuriki? But which one could he poss-" Then he saw it. The boy he thought he had killed had stood up and was in a tailed beast cloak. He wasn't going crazy so he had either training in using the chakra, or the beast was friendly.

Minato dispelled the genjutsu and was thinking of the best way to leave when he saw his face. The eagle mask and cloak had been destroyed by Minato's last attack and what he saw made him pause. '6 whisker like marks on his face, spiky blonde hair, and a jinchuriki…That can only mean one thing…'

Naruto was pissed. He had been embarrassed and taken completely off guard by this man. Regardless if he was the Fourth Hokage or not. He was a Storm nin and Storm nin do not get taken by surprise. When Kurama offered him some chakra to destroy this man in front of him, he did not hesitate. He was about the pull out Storm Fang and join Hawk and Falcon in finishing him off when he heard Minato say one word.

"Naruto." Minato almost whispered, He glanced up at Naruto with sad eyes, like he had come to a somber conclusion to a question or quest that had plagued his mind.

Naruto narrowed his eyes and pulled out Storm Fang. The hilt lit up at the application of his chakra and an almost invisible blade of wind chakra that was highlighted by Kurama's chakra formed to its full length. "How do you know my name?" Internally Naruto was racking his brain trying to find an answer, and Kurama was strangely not saying anything, which confused Naruto considering his vocal thoughts about the man in front of him earlier in their fight. 'How the hell can he know my name…He supposedly died the day of his birth protecting the village from Kurama…there was no way he knew who I am…' He was also sure that Konoha didn't know he is alive, that means he couldn't have known from them…that only left one option in his mind. 'he was close to someone I knew…possibly my parents…now that I think about it, he looks kind of like me…'

He was broken out of his thoughts when Minato gave him a sad smile, which was amped by his still spasming and bleeding shoulder. "Naruto, I do not know how you got into this situation, fighting for Kumo. All I know is this isn't the life you were meant to live, and its my fault for believing the words the Third Hokage and elders said." This obviously peaked everyones interest as they wanted to know why and how the Fourth Hokage was so invested in Naruto, when he didn't even know the man. "Surely the Third Hokage kept his promise to follow my 'last wish'…to have you seen as a hero, and a defender of Konoha?"

Naruto snorted and started to chuckle. This eventually turned into full blown laughter as an additional tail of chakra started to form. Falcon flashed some signs at Hawk 'Shit Naruto is turning…ready the seal sensei gave us.' Hawk nodded his head and readied the seal and prepared to jump in at a moments noticed.

"A hero? a defender? Konoha scorned me! treated me like trash, and abandoned me to that hell hole in Kiri! Even the man who I thought of as a grandfather threw me out once I wasn't as strong as they wanted me to be!" Naruto got more and more angry as he went on, but what he heard next took his anger to the next level.

"I am sorry my son…I never wished for you to suffer like you ha-" Minato couldn't finish his sentence.

"SON! WHY THE HELL ARE YOU CA-!" Naruto looked deep into Minato eyes and saw no lies, he was telling the truth. "You bastard! you sacrificed me for the village and then left me to the mercy of those monsters!"

"Naruto please let me exp-" Once again he was interrupted, but by Naruto going from two tails to 5 tails. He yelled a loud battle cry, and it was clear now his emotions were taking control as he rushed without any thought. Minato managed to dodge most of his slashes from his wind blade, and even managed to hit him with several wind bullets. 'Shit Im running out of chakra…I need to leave quick!' And like saving grace 5 ANBU appeared between Naruto and Minato. With extreme haste, three of the ANBU flashed through hand seals and created large clouds of smoke to cover their retreat, while the remaining two grabbed Minato and got back to Konoha's side of the border.

When the smoke cleared and Naruto was busy trying to locate Minato several teams of Kumo Jonins and 12 Storm nin led by Hada entered the clearing. Haha evaluated the situation and yelled at Hawk and Falcon. "I want a god damn report by tonight, but for now I want you two to suppress him like Lord Rashii probably taught you!" Both of the masked Storm nin nodded and went about their task, while Naruto was now engaged in combat with two teams of Storm nin, that were using hit and run tactics to stall him out. Hada looked up and noticed that for the first time in what seemed like weeks the rain finally let up and the sun set quickly burst through the clouds. 'my what a lovely sunset…it seems that this storm has finally passed…but a new one is already brewing.

Konoha Outpost Near Rakubi Border 5 Hours later

It was night time and the cool air filled the medical tent. The ANBU medic that had healed his wound the best of her abilities told him that the outpost's commander would be questioning him tomorrow, but until then to rest. He replayed the entire fight in his head non stop, but was stopped when a teary eyed Kushina and Eri came into tent. "Minato/Dad!" they shouted as they tackled him in the bed and the medic left the tent. Kushina hit him lightly on the head and continued crying "You idiot! Why didn't you let me stay with you to fight off that jinchuriki!?" She looked into his eyes "We could have handled those Kumo scumbags together! Don't do something like this again, or I will revive you, only to kill you again, got it?!"

Minato rubbed his head sheepishly and he nodded his head yes vigorously. His attention was take when Eri pulled on his sleeve, tears in her eyes as well. "Dad! Im sorry I couldn't help you! I felt all of the chakra and that evil, vile man you were fighting and I just got so scared!" she wiped a tear that was forming before raising a fist in the air, determination replacing the scared look before. "But no longer! Im gonna get stronger and fight monsters like him if Im going to take you title from you!"

Minato had a pained expression on his face. If only they knew that the person they talked so badly about was their own flesh and blood. 'It isn't their fault, they don't know yet…and wont know for a while.' Kushina noticed his expression and said curiously "Minato hun? Whats the matter?

His expression didn't change. "Nothing Kushina…Im just tired, Ill see you tomorrow and we will make for Konoha as soon as possible okay?" That seemed to do the trick and both girls left to go to their tent for the night. Leaving Minato to continue thinking about what Naruto said.
