The walk down the mountain was splendid and relaxing at the same time. It's undoubtedly way better than jumping off the side of the mountain. Now the crowd of Yetis is making their way to the Smallfoot village with excited looks on their faces. The sensory they walk in is nothing they ever have seen before. They all chatted amongst each outer. Migo, Meechee, Kolka, Gwangi, Fleem, and Migo's father are walking together side by side in a group while Thorp is elsewhere in the crowd. Kolka takes a deep inhale of the fresh cold air and breath it all out, feeling refreshed as ever. "Ah, isn't nice just taking a nice cool stroll to the Smallfoot village?"
"It sure is, Kolka," Migo replied with calmness in his voice. It is nice to take a newly formed trail that the Yetis have created to the Smallfoot village. All of this is still very new to them.
"It sure is."
There were bound to arrive at Smallfoot village in less than five minutes. It's all so exciting.
"I'll say," Dorgle said, agreeing. "I'm going to talk to Smallfoots gong ringer again and give him a few tips and tricks."
Migo smiles at that. Migo's father has been talking with the Smallfoot gong ringer for few days ever since he found out Smallfoots have their very own gong too. Apparently, they knew the mallet theory.
"But don't they know that the sky snail comes up all on its own though?" Gwangi asked.
"They know," Meechee answered Gwangi question. "They only ring the gong for emergencies, holidays, or whenever."
"The Smallfoots have their very own holidays? What do they celebrate?" Kolka asked out of curiosity.
"I'm wondering the same thing. Hopefully, I'll find out today." Meechee replied.
They chatted everything they need to know about the Smallfoot. The walk is like this every time they come down. They asked millions of questions if not more. The more asked, the more intelligent they seem to get.
"So Migo, what are you and the Smallfoot doing today?" Meechee asked with a sweet smile on her face. In repose, Migo shrugged his shoulders.
"I don't know, to be honest, my Smallfoot usually dose all the planning."
"Aww, your Smallfoot dose all the planning. That's so sweet of him!" Kolka squealed in how cute that sounds. Fleem just rolled his arm and crossed his arms.
"Eh, I think he's overdoing it a bit, don't you think?"
Migo chucked. "What can I say? He's a planner, an awesome one too," The Smallfoot or as known as Percy, would have things already planned for him and Migo to do as soon they arrived. And every time it's something odd and new. Yes, he is quite the planner, indeed.
"Doesn't hurt to plan ahead," Meechee said, looking at Migo. She's not wrong.
"What about you, Meech?" Migo asked. "What are you and your Smallfoot going to do?"
"Well, we're going teach each other about a few things and maybe get better at hand signals," Meechee babbled, She can talk about this all day if she wanted to. Migo knew exactly what Smallfoot she is referring to.
"She's very curious and smart."
Migo hummed to that.
"I think my Smallfoot likes her," Migo brought up a good point. Percy and Brenda would always be seen together side by side every time they met the two.
"Now that you said that Migo, I see those two together." Gwangi pointed out.
Then Kolka gasps in shock like she figured out something big. "What if there a cute couple!? That would be so adorable!"
"We don't know for sure, guys," Migo said to clam his excited friends with a somewhat of an explanation to say.
"For all we know, they could be terrific friends and has known each other for a while."
Fleem rolled his eyes. "Of course you'll say that, Migo." Migo just ignored him, knowing how he is.
"We'll never know," Meechee said to conclude the debate.
Then finally the Smallfoot village came into their view. There it lies in a snow-covered valley. It had many buildings, houses, and restaurants. Their village is huge, probably bigger than the Yeti village back home. There are probably more Smallfoots in the village then there are yetis. At night, the whole village would be glowing like a beacon from afar.
It is only a walk down a hill to, and they'll be there in a matter of seconds. They started to walk on down.
A little asian girl named May who lived in that village is in her bedroom playing two of her Yeti stuffed animals on the hard wooden floor in her room, there were having a little tea party until she saw a reflection on her mirror of a large crowd of Yetis coming down a snow-covered hill from the open window.
Her eyes widen in excitement. She dropped everything she was doing and got up to the window to make sure what she is seeing is real. And it is.
"Their back! The Yetis are back!" She yelled out not in fear but pure excitement. She started pointing at them frankly. She couldn't want to play with Soozie.
The people around the area heard the announcement from May. And they too saw the Yetis coming down the hill once more. Percy and Brenda were walking on the sidewalk, making their way over to the entrance now when they heard May's announcement. They are thrilled.
"Ohhh! This is amazing, Brenda!" Percy exclaimed in excitement like a child. Percy has never felt this excited in such a long time. The last time was this excited is when he finally saw his first lion when he was nine years old with his mother at the zoo many summers ago.
"I know, right!?" Brenda said as she too is excited. "I plan to teach Wonder about our tradition, epically with Christmas coming next month."
Percy nearly forgot that Christmas is just around the corner.
"Christmas is next mouth?" Brenda nodded to confirmed.
"Crazy right? It's also their first Christmas with us." She also pointed out. Brenda is right. This is the Yetis first Christmas with them. Not to mention, it's Percy and Brenda's first Christmas here in the cold Himalayas.
"Great! Then we'll start planning. I think they'll love Christmas!"
Brenda smiled. "I think so too."
The crowd of Yetis made it down the hill and now stand in front of the village entrance like where they usually meet, leaving giant footprints behind in the snow. They stood in the snow and waited patiently. There was only silence for a moment, only a cold wind breeze. Then all humans came running out one by one until it felt like hundreds of humans or more were out of the village.
Both Yetis and humans greeted each other. A few people shouted. "Welcome back!" Or "They came back!" Everyone human and yeti alike had pure joy looks on their faces. Migo couldn't help but smile and gave little waves to every Smallfoot he sees, and they would wave back.
The truth is that Migo was looking for his Samllfoot in the crowd until Percy, along Brenda by his side, came jogging up to him through the group when he spotted him with Wonder by his side along with his friends.
"Snowball!" Percy yelled out.
Migo heard his high pitched gibberish name and saw the Smallfoot, who had on the red winter jacket and Meechee's Smallfoot jogging to them, Meechee saw them as well. Meechee and Migo became are excited.
"We're here, Smallfoot!" Migo waved over. The two Smallfoots came to a stop right in front of the two happy Yetis.
"Hi, guys!" Shouted Brenda. Both Percy and Brenda waved at them as a way to greet the Yetis. In response, Migo and Meechee waved back.
"Aw, Hi, guys!" Meechee said excitedly. Then Brenda and Meechee started their conversation as the other Yetis and humans around them have already begun to catch up with one another.
Percy smiled up at Migo. Then Percy did hand signals by pointing at him. "Hey there, Snowball. How are things,"
Migo understood the hand signal that Percy did.
"I'm doing okay, Smallfoot, actually more then okay, I'm doing great!" Percy chucked, he can already tell things were going suitable for Migo just by looking at his happy expression alone. Then Migo got on his keen to see the Smallfoot's face.
"How about you? How have you been?" Migo asked as he pointed at Percy. Then Migo laid his blue hand flat down on the ground for Percy get onto.
"I'm doing great. I guess," Percy carefully got on Migo's hand, and he lifted to his shoulder where Percy climb on to and sat down comfortably while holding on to his blue horn.
Once Migo knew Percy is settled, he stood up carefully.
"I mean, I'm still working on getting my life and show back on track, it's quite stressful," Percy said as he let out a sigh of distress. Migo can tell that the Smallfoot is in distress by the tone of his voice.
Migo started to walk around a little with Percy on his shoulder.
"Wow, it sounds like you have a lot of things going on," He said in concern then tried to assure him.
"But don't worry, I'm here to help you and so are your friends." Migo pointed at himself and then his friends, Mecchee, Kolka, Gwingi, and Fleem, who were spread out to get his point across.
Percy did not understand at first but then slowly put two and two together and smiled at Migo. A smile that Migo hopped for.
"Aw, thank you Snowball, times like this can be rather hectic," Migo is glad that his words cheered his little friend.
"'One step at a time' as some had a say."
Migo nodded as if he understood.
Then Fleem came walking into their view with a group of Smallfoots with phones following behind him like paparazzi follow would follow a celebrity on the streets of Hollywood. Fleem was not pleased with it.
"Uh...so are you, little guys going to follow me with you glowing stones all day like last time?" In repose, the Smallfoots chattered in excitement or would even start recording the moment. Fleem threw his hands in the in fruition.
"They like you, Fleem!" Migo shotted happily. Percy could not help but snicker a bit.
"Yeah, and it's weird, really weird," Fleem exclaimed. The short Yeti continued to walk forward into the village as the little crowd of Smallfoots followed his every step into the village. Migo and Percy watched him leave.
"Wow, the Smallfoots like him," Migo said, sounding almost surprised.
"You know, I think the short fella may have his very own fan base," Percy said. Migo looked at Percy with confused eyes and gave a confused growl.
"Huh?"
"N-nothing, forget it." Percy shook his head. "Anyways, are you ready to get this day started?" Percy said happily as he pointed at the sun. Migo easily understood. Percy taught Migo the time of day though hand signals, today and tomorrow.
Migo gave Percy a warm, smiled, and nodded. "Totally! I can't wait to see what you have planned."
Percy chucked with joy. "Great! I have many things in the village we can do!"
Migo has never seen Smallfoot this before. All those other times were getting known each outer and get used to this new tradition they develop. Now their best friends.
Percy pointed forward to the village, telling the yeti to move forward since most of humans and yetis are already in the village. "Let's move along," And that he did. Migo ducked over the village entrance, and here he was happy to back once more. Percy reminds Migo to watch where he steps and mind his surroundings so he wouldn't break anything village and won't hurt himself. Once they got to town circle, Percy had Migo put him down on the ground so he can roam around freely.
Percy reached out his hand to Migo.
"Give me your hand." He said. Migo couched down and gave him a finger for Percy to grab onto. He excitedly grabs on to it and eagerly leads the way. Migo tried not to run too fast. "This way."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, Smallfoot," Migo chucked. "Slow down."
Percy still kept going, and he did not seem bothered by the cold at all. Migo did not mind, knowing how excited his friend is. They walked through the village on the snow-covered stone road as they greeted anyone who they walk-by or come across, yeti or human.
Migo and Percy arrived at the newly made blacktop where there are already yetis and humans there drawing on the blacktop, most of them were young happy Yetis and humans. "And...here we are," Percy announced. Migo took a look around, it was like a huge back stone on the ground, and anyone is free to draw whatever they want. It is like nothing he saw before. "Wow." He said awe.
"I know it seems rather childish...but we recently had this place cemented, so yetis and humans talk to each other by drawing," Percy explained.
Migo looked at Percy's face as he spoke, so he pays attention to the facial expressions he did.
"Brenda told me about this place when she and your friend, Wonder went here a few days ago."
"This is amazing, Smallfoot!" The yeti said in excitement.
Migo now understood its purpose, to communicate through drawing. Migo does recall Meechee tell him something about it. Percy took the excited growls as a good thing.
"I take it your excited, now come on," Percy started to jog forward as he gestures him to come.
"I'll even teach you how to play tic tac toe."
"Okay, I'm coming."
Once they found a place and space to draw, the two grabbed two pieces of chalk from the ben, being Migo chose blue chalk while Percy chose pink chalk. Laying on their bellies, they both drew something on the ground. Of course, Percy knows he is no artist, sometimes he would scribble some drawings that he thought did not turn out right or just looks plain terrible. Meanwhile, Migo took time drawing his picture. He learned how to draw stick fringes thanks to his Smallfoot teach him that.
"I did not think drawing a horse would be this hard," Percy said to himself, judging his artwork.
"It looks more like a mutated horse than an actual horse, I'll say." Then suddenly, someone approached Percy as his shadow covers his drawing.
Percy looked up at the man with recognition. He was hoping he wouldn't run into this guy today. The men had tan skin with dark brown hair. He wore a striped blue and white striped winter hat with a yellow and gray winter coat with a large fur hood with red gloves. He is in his early thirty's; he is much older than Percy.
"Morning Patterson," the familiar man said with a greeting tone.
Percy got up on his feet and faced the man. "Ah, Good morning, Hank Wilder. I did not think we would see you here."
"Heard about this place was built recently, so I thought to check it out at the last minute," Hank said with a smug. Hank took a look around as his disapprove brown eyes scanned the place.
"I see yetis pretty much run the place as they did at every place in the village," Hank said not very pleased, almost sounded frustrated.
"You could say that. You know yetis take a large amount of space." Percy joked, pretending he does not understand what Hank is trying to say.
"This is ridiculous," Hank muttered. "Absolutely ridiculous." He crosses his arms as he watched a black little boy drawing with a young yeti by his side. Percy has no idea how to reposed to this at all. It made him mad that he's walking around thinking like that.
Migo turned his head to Percy once he was done with his drawing to see his little friend with another Smallfoot next to him. "Hi, uh...other Smallfoot," He waved with greeting smile. In response, Hank sent a mean glare up to Migo's way, giving him the cold shoulder. Migo already knew he was going receive that treatment from that Smallfoot anyway. Migo watched as the two talks back and forth.
"You could at least say 'hi' to him, it wouldn't hurt you," Percy said irritated.
Hank scoffed. "Why would I say 'hi' to a yeti monster? Huh?"
Percy did not want to answer that; he did not know how, without getting frustrated with Hank; after all, there are kids around who do not need to witness this. Instead, thew another question in his way.
"Is that why you came here? To complain about why you hate yetis so much again?"
"You could say that. Because we just welcomed them into the village without any second thought."
"You are literally the only person in the village who thinks that"
"That's where your wrong, Patterson," Hank said. "There are many people in this village who believe the same thing as I do." Hank starts angrily walking away from the two without even looking. "I don't expect you to understand. You're still young!" He shouted.
Percy rolled his eyes. Well, at least he did not have his shotgun with him this time. That's a shocker.
Percy remains silent as he watched him leave. Migo could tell by the tone of their squeaks that their conversation did not go very well. Migo thinks that his Smallfoot did not like him very much either.
"Are you okay?" Migo asked worriedly. He patted Percy on the back.
"I'm okay, Snowball." Percy fake a smile.
"What did he say to you?" Migo is curious about what that Smallfoot had said to Percy and what he thought of him. It had to be something rude. And yet his Smallfoot does not seem angry what so ever. Migo wished he can help.
"Ignore him, Snowball. He has no idea what he's talking about." He said to Migo with an assuring tone. He petted leg softly to insure. Migo still felt terrible though and wonder what that Smallfoot had said to Percy. Perhaps he was in a bad mood?
"Can I see what you have drawn?" Percy as he pointed at Migo's drawing on the ground. Migo is snapped back into reality from his thoughts.
"Hm? Oh, yeah my drawing!" Migo nodded to Percy so he knew he could see his drawing. Percy took a look as he slowly walks over to it. Migo has drawn a large circle that is supposed two by right side up rectangles with what looks like a yeti about to bang its august it. Then there's a snail in the sky in his drawing. Percy is confused by how bizarre and funny that is.
"That's the gong in your village, correct?" Percy tries his best to translate in hand signals.
"Yes, that used dad's job to ring the gong every morning to raise the glowing snail in the sky."
"The sun, you mean?" Percy pointed to the sun in the sky. They actually think the sun is a giant glowing snail. Percy thought to himself.
"Right, the sun."
"And this here is your father?"
"Yep," Migo nodded. It surely explains why his father is so short and the bold spot he had on his head. Percy is surprised by this.
"Wow, it sounds painful." Percy rubbed his head and then pointed to Migo.
"Yeah, it does look like it would hurt."
"Did you ever get to ring the gong?" Percy asked, pointed at the drawing, and then Migo to get his question across.
Migo shocks his head without hesitation in his mind. "Nope."
"Oh." Percy had to admit that would be quite the job to have and not mention, a danger to one's health, but he felt bad that his friend never got to try it.
"But hey it's okay though, there's really no need to ring it. After all, the sun comes up all on its own."
Percy nodded. "Ah, I see now." He still had a lot of questions about Migo and his village way of life. Do all yetis in the village believe the sun is a glowing snail, or is it Migo's imagination? Where did those snails even come anyways? From outer space? Percy also thinks the yetis did not know to the answer themselves.
"What did you draw, Smallfoot?"
Percy pointed at his not so good drawing.
"What is it?" Migo asked as he tilted his head as looked his drawing.
"It's supposed to be a horse, but it looks like something completely out of the ordinary." Percy chuckled at his artwork. "It's the horse I rode back at private school, you see?"
Percy then drew a stick figured on top of the horse with a smiley-face. Migo knew the stick figure is his friend riding on an animal of some kind. He wonders if it lives around here for his friend to ride on.
"That's so cool," Migo said amazed.
"You know, it would be easier if I just show you the pictures on my phone instead," Percy suggested to himself.
"Can we find one around here?" Migo gestures to the area around him.
Percy knew what he was getting at and shakes his head. "I don't believe there are horses around here, Snowball."
"Oh,"
Percy teaches Migo how to play tic tac toe as he promises him to. It is difficult to explain how to play the game, but Migo started to get a grip of the game. They played a few rounds until Migo won his first game. Percy sort of let him win at the end.
"Now you're getting the hang of it." Percy praised.
Shortly after that, they headed to the nearest library that Percy planned to go. This is a chance for Migo to learn more about humans way of life here in the village and everywhere else. And perhaps a little English. Migo had to wait outside while Percy checks out five books that had pictures in them for them to read, meaning most of the books are children's books. Percy read aloud and sat crisscross on Migo's chest as Migo laid down in the fresh blanket of snow under a pine tree as he listens. He would show pictures to him every time he was done reading the page. Even though Migo couldn't understand a word he's saying, it's still great to listen to him read.
After that, Percy let Migo listen to one of his music on his phone. Percy turned it up loud so both of them can hear it. It is ones of Percy's favorite songs. Percy couldn't help but sing along to his favorite song. The yeti notice that the Smallfoot is mimicking the voices on his device and is very into it. Migo wanted to sing along even though it felt odd, but he did so anyway. Migo tried to copy what Percy is singing. It came out as on beat growls to Percy.
Percy laughs at Migo, trying sing along with him. "Oh, Snowball." He then resumes to singing along with favorite song and with Migo.
After that, lunchtime came around, and people and yetis around have already head for lunch. Migo and Percy met up with Meechee and Brenda. Percy and Brenda went to the favorite noodles shop in the village for lunch while Migo, Meechee and the other yetis went to have fruits which they brought down from the mountain outside.
They ordered their drinks and noodles to the waiter and waited for the food to get here. They took off their winter coats and gloves to get warm and comfortable in their booth near the window. Percy told Brenda about that their encounter with Hank. Brenda was not pleased to hear this news.
"He didn't say or do anything to Snowball, did he?" Brenda asked in concern.
"No, thankful he did not."
"That's good."
Percy sighs. Brenda didn't like the sound of that. "It still bugs me that there are people in the village that don't like yetis still,"
"Well...it has only been for a few weeks after all, and I will admit it's a lot to get used to having yetis coming down on a daily bases." Brenda reasoned. "It will take some time to get used to, just like you and Snowball."
Percy chuckled slightly. "I thought he was going to eat me at first."
"Exactly my point."
Silence settles in between the two, but the silence did not last for long until Percy spoke up as shifted in his seat.
"I wish you were there to see the yeti village with me."
"Really?"
"Of course, we're partners Brenda and partners should stick together no matter what."
Brenda had no idea what to say after that but stared at Percy with a smile clearly written on her face, and she had to think up of something quick and fast.
"Well, I always wanted to see real live breathing mammoth."
"We could always visit them...then that again there is altitude sickness part."
"Right."
Both of their lunches are brought to their booth by a waiter. Both of them ordered a yummy hot bowl of noodles along with warm fresh calming tea. While they are and drank, Brenda explains what she and Meechee have been up to. Brenda taught Meechee what Christmas and the other holidays they celebrate. Meechee seemed to had a more natural grip on understanding the subject very.
Then Percy shared what he and Migo been doing. And Migo shared what he and his Smallfoot have been doing with his friends, and his friends shared too over lunch.
"My friend taught me they celebrate a few holidays every year, and they have one coming up," Meechee explained.
"Whoa, really?" Migo said in shock.
"Aww, what is it?" Kolka asked.
"I believe it starts with 'C,' I don't know how to pronounce it yet," Meechee admitted. "But they use a tree, and they give presents to one another."
"This sounds kinda cool actually," Fleem said, he sounded very excited. "Are we going to celebrate with them?"
"Of course, she said everyone in the village is more than welcome to join them," Meechee said happily. That was enough to get Migo and gang excited for a holiday they know little about.
Once lunch was made, Migo and Meechee met up with Percy and Brenda and starting to do more actives, but this time they are hanging out together.
Right outside the village, there were making snowmen which were not Percy's plan at all but Migo's but, he went along with it. Percy is rolling a snowball while Migo is rolling a huge snowball next to him. They stacked their own three snowballs to create the body. As they know it, they built four snowmen standing next to one of them. Two of them being huge snowmen-yeti, they had wooden branches for horns. Migo was putting the finishing touches on his snowmen.
"Aw, It's an adorable snowman family," Brenda said as she squealed seeing just how cute it looks. Percy has never seen a snowman built that big before.
"It sure is, I'm going to snap a picture of them." Percy took out his phone from his pocket and held it sideways for a full view shot. Seeing Migo in the camera, he asked for his attention. "Snowball, say cheese!" Migo knew what that meant, so he posed next to the Snowmen and had a full awkward grain for the picture.
Click
"Perfect." Percy gave a thumbs up.
"Ohhh, I wanna see!" Migo said, jogging over to them. Meechee who is behind them bends down to see it. Percy held his phone up so they can see it."You took a good a picture, look at you Migo." Meechee complimented. Migo giggles at the picture. "Aw, I like this picture."
After that, they flop down on the thick snow-covered ground and made lovey snow angles. Then after that, Percy thought it was a good idea is to start a snowball fight by heralding a snowball at Migo in the back, he did not even flinch. He thought it would be funny. Then Migo gave a confused look to Percy. And Brenda and Meechee witnessed it all. Percy starting think he made a horrible mistake.
"You really have done it now, Patterson," Brenda warned him.
Percy gulp in nervousness "I just might have."
"Snowball fight!" Meechee shouted. She made a snowball and threw a snowball at his face. Migo wipes the snow from his face. "Oh, it's on now!"
Sure enough, a snowball fight breaks out between them. Percy is pretty sure he doomed them both for epic defeat in seconds being crushed by a giant snowball of doom. But the fight turned out to be fun and competitive. Migo and Percy were a team against Meechee and Brenda, despite Percy being the one who started it. Snowballs were flying all over the place from left to right. Soon other people and Yetis joined in on the fun too. The snowball fight lasted for hours. Migo and Percy never had this much fun in a snowball fight before.
The sun has begun to set; the entire sky was now a shade of pink and a drip of orange on the horizon. Upon a large hill, Migo, Percy, Meechee, and Brenda were going to have sled race down the hill. Both of the Smallfoots on the Yetis heads.
"Whoever gets to the bottom first wins," Meechee said. The two Smallfoots quickly understood what she is trying to
They use huge thick tree bark as sleds. It is Migo and Percy versus Meechee and Brenda once more. This wasn't part of Percy plan to do this either, but he is willing to go with the flow.
"We totally got this, Smallfoot," Migo assured him. In repose, he chucked. He then looks a Brenda on of Meechee head holding to her horns with a natural smile, a real smile.
"May the best team win," Percy said.
Brenda turned to them with a real smile too. "Good luck, you guys."
They face forward.
"On your marks!" Meechee announced.
Percy's hand's grips tighten on Migo's blue horns.
"Get set!"
Migo's hands tighten on the sled.
"Go!"
They both pushed off at the same time, and now they both going down the hill neck and neck. "Whooo!" Whooped Migo and Percy in exhilaration. Then Meechee started gaining speed and was now in front of them.
"Looks like their in the lead," Percy said. "Come on, Snowball!"
Halfway down the hill, Meechee and Brenda were still in the lead while Migo and Percy were still not too far behind him in second place. Brenda is surprised by this "Wow, we just might win this thing, Wonder" Then they saw what was up ahead and they in complete disbelief.
"Trees!" Yelled Brenda.
"Trees?" Percy questioned.
"Oh, treeeeesss!" Migo shouted.
There are many pine trees ahead of them, and Migo feared that he'd crash in one of them. Percy was started to think this racy was planed very well. Then leaned left or right to dodge the pine trees which gave Percy an idea of how past this unexpected obstacle and maybe a way to win the race.
"Lean left, Snowball!" Percy yelled as he too leans left on his head. Migo leans left to passes a tree swiftly.
"Whoa, that was way too close," Migo said in slight relief.
"It's not over yet!" Percy leans right. "Lean right!" Migo leans right to pass another tree. Migo leans left and right to move many trees with the help of Percy.
"Left! Right! Right again! Hard left!" And they passed it all standing trees with flying colors down the hill.
"Yes! We did it!" Migo cheered as look back at trees. They managed to catch up with Meechee and Brenda at halfway at the bottom of the hill. All their hearts were racing.
"You guys made it!" Meechee shouted.
"Yeah, we did, didn't we!?" Migo looked at Percy with a smile.
"That was crazy!" Percy yelled at Brenda.
"Beyond crazy!" Brenda yelled back.
They made it to the bottom of the large hill, and the race ended in a tie. As Migo likes to see it, they all won, which made the victory that much sweeter. Then from out the blue. Percy started whooping to the havens. He never in his life felt such exhilaration. A feeling like is when one gets off a roller coaster. Then Brenda started whooping too. Migo and Meechee had no clue what they are doing. Was some Smallfoot call? But they joined and started shrieking just for the fun of it.
They sled off into the sunset on the horizon to end this day on a high note as they howled like wolves in the starry night under a full moon.
