Previously on I Don't Want to Love Him, but I Just Do...
• I grabbed my cell phone and quickly dialed Jandro's number. After the fourth ring I was getting even more worried. He wasn't answering, and he always answers. I immediately started to run down the stairs and out the front door.
"Where are we going?" Catheryn followed behind me, still confused.
"Transylvanian Jailhouse."
• "Yes! We know what's going on! How do we knock him out of the effects of the potion, though?" Ali looked on the page and read aloud the instructions on how to stop the effects of the potion. "'In order to stop the love potion from working, someone else must prove to that person that they love them and not the person that gave them the love potion.'" she frowned. "Huh... does Sebastian love Lyn?"
• "Oh, and you should? Ow..." I groaned as I accidentally moved my arm. I looked at it, suddenly realizing that I was losing too much blood. I started to feel faint. I looked up at Ethan and saw that he was disappearing into the distance, his voice sounding as if it was far away, yelling: "Demi! Demi!" until I saw all blackness.
• "Do you want Sebastian back?"
I nodded my head slightly.
"Then listen to what I have to say," Tom commanded.
I Don't Want to Love Him, but I Just Do...
Chapter 13
Change of Plans
~Catheryn's POV~
"Cat, you have to go to school today," I heard Lyn in the distance as I started to come back to consciousness from my slumber. "You will be missing enough days of school once you give birth. You can't avoid Dom forever!"
I grunted as I heard that forbidden name, and I rolled over so my face was right in the center of my pillow.
I really did not feel like getting up, going to school, and having to see Dominic's face after what he did to me the other day. The way he just left me was something so unforgettable and so unforgivable. How could he leave me and his baby alone without his support? He was a man with no real balls, I sighed to myself, frustrated.
I suddenly felt this pillow smack across the back of my head with a lot of force. I rolled around again to see Lyn with a pillow in her hand and a slight amused smirk plastered right on her face. I quickly grabbed the water from my nightstand and threw it on her. She gasped and wiped the water out of her eyes, her mouth agape.
"You did not just do that, Cat!" I couldn't control my laughter. My stomach was killing me, and I just laughed more and more as I replayed the surprised look on her face in my mind.
She looked at herself in the mirror and she looked even more shocked as she saw that her entire outfit that she was going to wear to school was completely drenched. She turned around to look at me with evil yet amused eyes. "You will pay for this!" she laughed along with me as she continued to look at herself in the mirror. "Now, get up!"
"Fine," I continued to laugh as I got out of bed and chose a pretty blue blouse and a pair of skinny jeans to wear to school. I held the blouse in my hands, my smile fading away; the feeling of dread of having to face Dominic today overcame me again. I sighed. "Do I really have to go, Lyn?"
She gave me a small smile. "Cat, I know exactly how you feel. I definitely did not want to go and face the entire school once they saw that Monica stole the guy I was with again. If you don't go," she placed a light hand on my shoulder and looked me directly in the eyes, "that will only make Dominic think that what he did got to you. Go to school and show him that you don't need him. Show him that what he did to you didn't effect your life whatsoever."
I nodded my head. It made sense. All I had to do was show up to school for a few hours, with my head held high and with no shame. I was a pregnant and single mother. Sure, the people at school will start talking bad about me, but it didn't matter what other people thought, right? I will live my life and not care about what other people think. I'll pay for mine and Dominic's consequences without Dominic, and I'll show him that I don't need him. I'll show him that he was the one who made a huge mistake for leaving me.
"Okay," I suppressed a smile and let out a deep breath, "I can do this."
"That's the spirit, Cat!" Lyn grinned widely and gave me a pat on the shoulder. "You better start getting ready," she looked down at her clothes that were soaked with water, "I better get changed, too," she chuckled and left the room, closing the door behind her.
Once the two of us were dressed, we quickly grabbed some food that the house chef, Christopher, made for us, and we grabbed our backpacks, ready to leave for school.
I was prepared for this. Sure, the butterflies were killing my stomach, and I was actually shaking all over, but I was ready to this. How bad could it be? What's the worse thing that could happen? Dominic comes up to me and talks to me? If that happens, I'll speak back to him, but I would have to try my best to control my emotions. I didn't need to embarrass myself by breaking down and crying all over again.
Suddenly, as soon as Lyn opened the front door to leave, some guy was leaning against the wall in front of the doorway, his fist in the air, obviously about to knock on the door before Lyn had opened the door. He put his arm back to his side. He was very tall and built. His short light brown hair combed to the side, complimenting his light tan skin and his thick eyebrows, his lips shaped into a slight smirk.
I had to stop and look at him for a second. He looked super familiar, but I could not think at all of who he might be. All I had to say was that he definitely took my breath away because he was very attractive. Dominic and my soon-to-be baby was the last thing I was thinking of at the moment as I continued to stare at this unknown, but familiar man.
"Oh, my gosh!" Lyn wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly, a wide grin on her face. He put a light hand on her back, giving her back a slight hug.
I suddenly made eye contact with him when he was hugging Lyn. I jumped a little and averted my eyes somewhere else, feeling slightly embarrassed.
"How are you doing, Lyn?" his deep voice asked as they parted from their hug. "Look at you. Still the most beautiful cousin I have," he chuckled.
Lyn raised an eyebrow at him. "I'm your only cousin," she laughed.
"Exactly my point," he smiled, amused. "Who's your friend?"
I caught my breath as I heard him say this. I looked in his direction again, only to see that he was staring at me again. As I looked him over again, I abruptly realized that Lyn did only have one cousin... I met that cousin before when we were younger, and he would always hang around with us every time he visited. Although, he would always blame Lyn and me for everything that he did that was wrong. This could not be...
"Ashton, you don't remember Catheryn?" she asked, shocked.
His eyes widened, his smirk going away, obviously puzzled that he didn't recognize me. His eyes looked me up and down, trailing my entire body. I felt goosebumps start to form on my skin as he checked me out. His eyes landed on my face and they didn't leave that spot.
"No way is this Catheryn," his smirk played at his lips again.
"No way are you Ashton," I snapped back at him, my arms folding across my chest now. "Ashton was an obnoxious jerk as far as I remember."
He didn't take offense to my insult whatsoever; he just chuckled. This got me pissed off. The old Ashton would have said something ten times worse back to me. Who the hell are you and what did you do to the little monster that used to torture me when I would come to visit Lyn?
"Yep, that's Catheryn all right," he snickered, humored. "You look really good."
I held my breath. "I would say the same back to you, but that would be a lie."
"Don't lie, Catheryn," he walked closer to me. I stood there, completely frozen. What was he going to do? "The way you looked at me when you first saw me says differently."
"Ha, ha, ha, don't make me laugh! I was just so repulsed by you that I had to stop for a second to keep myself from barfing!"
"Watch what you say," he walked closer to me until we were only an inch apart. For some reason I was breathing really deeply right now. Oh, I hope he couldn't hear me... "Your nose might start to grow from all the lies you're saying."
"So!" I heard Lyn speak up. "What brings you to the capital, Ashton?"
I sighed, relieved, that Lyn saved me from choking to death from the lack of oxygen I was taking in. Ashton flashed a crooked smile my way before stepping back away from me, so he could face Lyn.
"Your wedding," he answered. "My aunt called me to tell me that I could stay here until the wedding day comes up. So when can I meet the punk? He has to pass through me before he gets anywhere near my cousin!" he teased.
I looked over at Lyn. I knew she was still hurt even though her and Tom came up with a secret plan to get Sebastian back. She was worried that the plan wouldn't work, thus, she didn't know if there was even going to be a wedding. I noticed that her slight grin had went down to a depressed expression. The same expression that she had on while she was confessing everything to me.
"Um," Lyn gulped loudly, trying to smile again, so she didn't seem obviously depressed. It definitely wasn't working, "okay, go tell Lindy to help you unpack in one of the guest rooms. The one right next to my room is occupied; you can take the one right across from it, though."
Ashton shrugged off Lyn's sudden mood change. He probably knew that he shouldn't hit that subject too much, so he kept his mouth shut about it. "Who's in that guest room?"
"Catheryn. She's going to be staying with us for a while," she went to the living room and called out to Lindy to help Ashton unpack.
"Guess we're going to be neighbors," he gave me a sly smirk.
"Can't wait!" I gave him two thumbs up with false excitement.
"Holy crap!" Lyn ran toward the door. "We're going to be late for school! Come on, Catheryn! Ashton, there's food ready in the kitchen, and you can unpack! See you later!" she dashed out the door.
"What? No hug?" he had his arms open for me to hug him as I was about to follow Lyn out the door.
"Sorry, don't want to catch a disease!" I gave him a fake apologetic look as I sprinted out the door, closing the door behind me, trying to catch up with Lyn.
What was that all about? I thought to myself. Why was Ashton acting that way with me? He never acted that way when we were kids. Although, one thing is for sure: he's going to be annoying me continuously, now that he was going to be staying with the Scar's too. Great... I managed to make a frown on my face, but the excited feeling in my stomach was demonstrating something different.
~Demi's POV~
Darkness... everything was just pitch black. Where was I? I looked to my left, to my right, up, down, but it was as if I was in a cave with no visibility whatsoever. I walked a couple steps forward to see if I could see anything. Nothing.
I even waved my hand in front of my face, and I couldn't even see that. I started to hyperventilate, my hands were shaking, and my palms were starting to sweat. I was freaking out.
I went to sit down to see if I could calm down a bit before my anxiety attack started to really kick in, but then realized... there was no floor. I started to fall into complete darkness. I wanted to scream but I made no sound. I had no idea what I was standing on before, but now, I felt like there was no bottom to this and I was going to keep falling endlessly.
I felt my heart pounding in my throat. I crawled into a ball, waiting and waiting for something, anything..
Then suddenly, I saw a faint light. A tinge of hope settled in me, and I got out of my crawled up position. I positioned myself to be as straight as an arrow, facing downwards, so I could get to that light quicker.
The light got brighter and brighter as I got closer, squinting my eyes from how bright this light was now. Just a couple more feet... I thought to myself.
Finally, I felt the warmth of the light grab me as I entered into it. I jumped, startled as my eyes opened, and I found myself in a hospital bed.
"She's awake," I heard a deep voice say. I looked to the side to see a doctor with a mask covering his mouth and one of those surgery gowns on him. I felt a tugging on my shoulder in the direction that the doctor was standing, and I noticed that he was sewing up the cut I had gotten.
The cut I had gotten from snooping on Ethan. Ugh, I never got to find out what he was up to! I cursed at myself. If only I had checked that the coast was clear a little better. I sucked at snooping on people. I frowned. Where was he now anyways?
"All done," the doctor said. "You had a nasty cut there. You lost a lot of blood, so we made some blood transfusions. I just finished stitching up that wound, so please, no sudden movements so you don't rip them. You're going to have to stay overnight."
"No! I can't!" I yelled. "I have to go do something urgent!"
The doctor shook his head. "I'm afraid that that will have to wait for now. You need some rest. I'll go tell your boyfriend that you're awake."
I looked at the doctor dumbfounded. "I don't have a boyfriend..."
"No?" the doctor raised his eyebrow at me. "That boy, Ethan; he isn't your boyfriend?"
Blood started to rush to my cheeks, feeling them get warmer. "Pretty sure he isn't..."
"Oh, well, I'll bring him in, anyways. Do you want to call anybody and tell them that you're okay?"
I nodded my head, and he handed me a bag. I opened the bag to find my cell phone in there. I quickly dialed my parents' phone number and told them exactly where I was. After saying a thousand times "I'm fine, I'll be home tomorrow", I hung up the phone. I clicked on my text messages and made sure to text Lyn and Ali where I was and that I was fine.
The door opened slightly. I immediately looked up from my phone to see Ethan walk into the room. My heart skipped a beat as he walked around my hospital bed, and he sat in the chair next to my right side. He had actually brought me to the hospital after he caught me snooping around? Why would he do that?
"Your arm looks better," he looked at the stitches.
I ignored his comment. "Why?"
"Why, what?" he looked a bit confused.
"Why would you help me after you caught me trying to figure out what you were doing in that abandoned building?"
"I wasn't going to let you bleed to death, Demi," he responded. "I'm not cold-hearted," he chuckled.
"Why did the doctor think you were my boyfriend?" I said this in a rush, getting slightly nervous as to what he would respond. The butterflies gradually started to attack my stomach as he gave me this pondering stare.
"Hmm, I don't know. Maybe it's because I was carrying you in my arms when I ran in here and screamed that you lost a lot of blood," he shrugged.
Damn, why did I have to be unconscious when that happened?! I've waited for that to happen for so long, and it happens when I'm not even awake?! The universe is teasing me...
"So, you mind telling me why you were snooping on me in the first place?" he raised his eyebrow.
"See, what had happened was..." I shot him an innocent, yet embarrassed smile. I sighed, deciding to just tell him the truth. "The other day I saw you walking out of that building with this package. I was curious to know what you were up to. I mean, no one would go into that building filled with rotting corpses for no reason at all."
"Why would you care?"
My heart started to race as he asked me this question. How was I going to tell him? I couldn't just blurt out, 'Ethan, I have the biggest crush on you, and I wanted to make sure you weren't a criminal!' I thought quickly. "I had nothing better to do, and I was just really curious." Yeah, there we go, that works.
"Hmm," he didn't seem convinced. "If you really want to know, my grandmother was murdered right in front of that building as she was just peacefully walking around the area. Her murderer put her body in that building to rot just like the other corpses. I decided to make an appropriate funeral bed for her, so that's why I've been coming in and out of that building for the passed few days."
I wanted to crawl under a rock when he said that. How stupid could I have been? How could I ever think Ethan was a criminal? He would never hurt a fly. He didn't seem like the badboy type because he never got in trouble in school or anything. I am such an idiot.
"Wow, I'm stupid..." I mumbled under my breath.
He chuckled. "Hey, it's cool. I would be curious, too, if I found someone mysteriously going into an abandoned building."
"I guess... Thank you for bringing me to the hospital," I smiled at him.
"It's no problem," he smiled back at me, causing the butterflies to come back and attack me.
~Lyn's POV~
As soon as I got to school, I speedily went to look for Tom. We had to put our plan into effect. I needed to get Sebastian back. There was no way I was going to let Monica win again. She will not mess with my life anymore once this plan is successful.
Once I found Tom, we walked towards the gym; Sebastian's first class was physical education, and to our advantage, Monica was skipping her first class to be with Sebastian. I breathed in and out very deeply as I walked straight up to them. They were both sitting in the stands, holding hands, waiting for the coach to come and start the class.
Monica saw me first as I was walking up to them. She scoffed. "Scar, you didn't get enough humiliation yesterday?"
"Shut the hell up," I snapped at her. I noticed that her entire skin was filled with veins protruding all over her body. It was as if her body was supposed to be lifeless, but yet, she was alive. Was this what happened to vampires when they're almost killed? Oh, wait, she was an aracnidi... I suddenly thought. What a freak.
"Who are you talking to, babe?" Sebastian turned around and looked up at me. He quickly stood up, standing in front of Monica, protecting her. I continuously told myself that he was under a love potion, and everything he was doing was being controlled by that potion. "I already told you the wedding was off, Lyn. Can you be anymore pathetic?"
I didn't let his insult get to me. I looked him straight into his eyes. Operation: get Sebastian back was in effect now.
"Sebastian Giracho," I started, "I've hated you since the first time you uttered a word to me. We've hated each other up to the point that we could not stand each other's presence. Then, for some strange reason, you agreed to marry me just so I can meet the standards to be Queen of Transylvania. Boy, was I pissed off that it was you sitting at the dining room table when I was walking down those stairs," people were starting to gather around us, but I continued on, ignoring them. Surprisingly, Sebastian was letting me tell my speech to him.
"Shut her up, Sebastian!" Monica looked nervous. She tugged at Sebastian's arm and shook him, ordering him to make me be quiet.
"Babe, let her humiliate herself," he told her.
I ignored his comment again, and I continued to poor my heart out to him. I just really hoped it was going to work in the end. "But then I started realizing how protected I felt around you; as if nothing could happen to me when I was around you. You found my soul vein, and the way you teased me with it, made me feel... made me feel..." I started to blush and I felt something drop in my stomach. "...like something I've never felt before, not even with Tom. I don't know what I'm feeling for you, Sebastian, but I know for a fact, that you are as confused about your feelings for me as I am with my feelings for you. You don't love Monica, Sebastian. You're under a love potion. You found my soul vein! What other indicator proves that you have feelings for me? Please..." I looked down at my hands, feeling a tear slip out and trail down my cheek. "Believe me."
He stood there staring down at me for what seemed like hours. He put his finger under my chin, tilting me head up so I was looking straight at him. Did it work? I started feeling so relieved until I heard Sebastian laughing.
"I swear, Lyn, you really are humiliating yourself."
A sense of dread washed over me. Tears started spill down quicker now. I grabbed his hand and lifted up my shirt just above my belly button. I placed his hand right where my soul vein was. I said no words; I only stared at him, tears still falling as I observed his facial expressions. I let go of his hand, and he started to caress that area of my stomach softly. His facial features started to soften up.
"If that doesn't prove that you have feelings for me, then I don't know what does, Sebastian," I placed my hands on either side of his neck, goosebumps starting to form as he continued to caress my soul vein. "Do you believe me now?"
I felt his hand slip away, his eyes never leaving my eyes. As he was about to say something, I suddenly felt a sense of pleasure wash throughout my entire body. A loud moan escaped my mouth as I felt a pair of fangs bite down into my soul vein. I looked down to see that Tom had been the one to bite me.
Sebastian's expression turned into rage. He knocked Tom right off me and started to punch him repeatedly.
"You dick! You bit my girl in her soul vein that I found!" Sebastian roared as he continued to mess up Tom's face.
Dread washed all over me; I stood there, speechless. Tom bit my soul vein... That meant... I was tied to him forever now...
