Book 2 chapter 5 stores wands and a diary
August 1 2004 0900
Get Neville a wand
That was the first thing on the list they saw upon arriving back to giant manor. The next three thing could be done all in the same day but the first thing they needed to do was get Neville a new wand.
As they arrived at Diagon alley to get there school supplies they saw Neville with his grandmother.
"Madam Longbottom," jay said
"Yes and you are?"
"My apologies ma'am I am James Smith lord of the most ancient and most noble house of Slytherin, to my left are Harry Potter lord of the most ancient and most noble hous of Gryffindor and ancient and most noble house of potter, and then is hermione granger lady of the most ancient and most noble house of Ravenclaw.
"To my right is my betrothed Maria Sanchez lady of the most ancient and most noble house of Hufflepuff, and to the right of her is my brother Richard Smith lord of the ancient house of gaunt. We are actually school chums and friends of Neville heir Longbottom. We actually were the ones you spent New Years with. And we were hoping to do our shopping with him today."
"Of course. The muggle house how could I forget. Neville make sure not to make a fool of your self and do house Longbottom justice. I will meet you outside of the cauldron for lunch at 1330
"Madam Longbottom," jay said before she left "before you take your leave might I have a word with you about the august Wizengamot assembly?"
"Of course"
"During the course of our studies we came across a miscarriage of justice that we would like your help in rectifying."
"Why would you need my help?"
"From what Neville has told me, ma'am, you are a lady of law and order. From what we read is that a man was not given a trial before being thrown into Azkaban, and we, Harry mostly would like to seek justice. The mans name is Sirius black and Harry wants to find out why he betrayed the potters once and for all."
"I see well I will certainly help you but you must get the head of the DMLE to look up the case files and bring him to the ministry prior to the meeting."
"Understood ma'am thank you very much."
As they finished with madam Longbottom they started gathering their supplies. All that was left was Ollivander and flourish and blots
"Hey," said jay outside of Ollivander's, "I need to get a wand cleaning kit real quick let's go in here before getting our books"
They headed inside and as soon as they headed inside Ollivander came out
"Mr Longbottom a year late to be getting your wand"
"I already am using my fathers wand"
"That won't do that won't do indeed. Like your grandfather you and your father are different people and need different wands see the wand chooses the wizard."
And then for a half hour the two of them went through wand after wand after wand. When they found the right one jay got his wand cleaning kit and they left. Ollivander close in hand trying to stop them because jay left his wand in there. As they got out the door madam Longbottom caught them
"Neville"she stated "think your too good for your fathers wand had to get another one?"
"No..." Neville was caught off by Ollivander
"Regent Longbottom, my lady, as a wandsmith I should tell you that him using an improper wand will stunt his magical growth. And can tell he will be a powerful wizard just like his father but only if he uses his own wand."
"You have always been able to read Magicks Garrick I guess I'll take your word. Neville dear remember 1330 at the cauldron."
"Yes gran"
And they left for the book store.
Just as they arrived Arthur and Lucius were getting into their argument and jay took that time to bump into Ginny knocking over her cauldron and snatching the diary while helping her pick up her books
"Sorry bout that"
"No problem" and the weasleys were off while jay still had the diary in hand he called missy to put it in his room back at the manor to be dealt with.
After getting their books and an altercation with Lockhart they left to meet madam Longbottom at the pub the the friends took their leave promising Neville to write. Then flooed to the manor to deal with a pesky book and finish their summer plans.
