Chapter Two:
Levarra tapped the pen on the small steno pad, eyes flitting back and forth behind her sunglasses as she watched the students on the campus. Sam was in yet another lecture hall, so she had time to study potential 'Clients'
She reached next to her for her to-go cup, the scent of herbal tea clouded her senses briefly.
Her phone rang in her hoodie pocket.
Reaching in she pulled it free flipping the device open and raising it to her ear. "You're really gonna wait a week before you call a gal back that-"
"Dad's missing" Deans tone cut her off and she frowned.
"Missing?"
"Yes, Levarra did I stutter or something?" he was breathless no doubt from pacing and panicking.
"You sure he didn't just go on another bender after his hunt" she drawled out, Or During? The thought briefly crossed her mind
"I got a voicemail from him, he sounded spooked."
She sighed leaning back on the bench. "Do you want me to go find him them, I could use a babysitting break"
"WHAT?! No, no no no. Dad cannot under any circumstances find out that we know each other at all" Dean's voice raised in pitch at the terrifying thought.
"Then what? You aren't going to hunt down your father by yourself, you'd never catch a lead on him" her blood pressure was spiking, talk of John Winchester and she naturally would get irritable.
"No, I'm not. Look I'm only a day away at the most"
She sat up, her to-go tea falling over and popping open. "Dean no,"
"Just keep a low profile and watch Sam till I get there"
"Dean you are not dragging" the line went dead, and a rumble exited her through. "Dammit!"
She snapped the phone shut and shoved it into her pouch pocket with her steno pad and glared down at her spent tea. "Fuck"
The air was beginning to cool, and people were stumbling home from the bars, the sound of children had died off long ago. Halloween was at its end.
Levarra exhaled into the night air, a cloud of steam forming she could hear the growl of the impala down the road before she saw it.
Dean directed the vehicle into the alley way, and she reached down opening the door to drop into the passenger's seat before the hunter could cut the engine.
She held up her hand as his mouth opened. "Before I give you any answers I want it on the record that I am fully against this, and that I am offering to help you damned be what John thinks" She set her jaw to emphasis her point.
"Which apartment is his"
She sighed settling back and dropped her head to look at the impala's ceiling.
"Third floor, last one on the left of the staircase, they left the window unlocked" She closed her eyes as the door squeaked and Dean climbed out.
"Fuck"
