Chapter six

"How was your Steak, Miss Levarra" the maid picked up the platter.

The bedridden Levarra, looked up from the ancient tome in her lap, "very good thank you" the maid bowed turning and paused.

"you aren't in any trouble are you ma'am?" the maid looked pointedly at her boss's ankle.

"Nothing I can't handle" Levarra muttered, looking back at her tome.

She could feel the bones healing, she would be better soon then she could fly this coop.

The door burst open just as the Maid closed it. Jacob striding in jaw set firmly.

"Yes, do come in" Levarra drawled; sarcasm dripping from her lips as she studied the pages.

"Don't start, you may be important, but your Daddy isn't here. So, by right I am your superior" He stood at the end of her large bed, arms crossed

Levarra shut the tome with a snap. "He got to you" she could smell the fear on him.

"So now what?" she sat up forcing her legs around, and off the side of the bed.

Jacob cleared his throat, eyes flickering black briefly. "You will do your duty Levarra, no arguing. It's time you learn your place"

She grimaced and pushed herself up. Ignoring the twinge of pain emitting from her ankle and faced Jacob.

"Jacob."

He frowned, then yelled as her hand came up and with a flick of her wrist, he was lifted off his feet and thrown against the wall.

"You, of all people know… I don't take orders well, so let's try this again. Good morning Jacob: did I invite you into my room?"

The demon groaned shaking his head.

"Exactly, now Dad may have placed you to watch over me, but you need to be reminded" She motioned with her free hand, at the two of them. "Are on two Vastly different levels"

Jacob nodded painfully, and she dropped her wrist, doing the same to him. He held his throat gasping for air.

Levarra turned away, "Don't ever do this again"

Jacob nodded leaving the room.

Levarra limped across the room, opening the double doors of her large closet and inhaled slowly. "Time to find Dean"

Finding the impala was easy, but the fading scent of Dean Winchester was never good.

Levarra studied the tall woods around her, she reached out opening the passenger door and leaned in flipping the seat forward. She crouched reaching a hand under the back bench to pat around before her hands curled around her phone. She pulled it free and sighed.

"Figures" she had lost it during the Woman in White fiasco.

Opening it, she grimaced at the sight of the low battery and three voicemails from Dean.

She pressed the button and held it to her ear. Closing her eyes to listen.

"Hey Lev- Levi" the stumble in the beginning let her know Sam was near.

Her eyes opened when the next message started.

"Levi, Look I don't know what's going on. But I think I- We might need some help. Again, Blackwater ridge Colorado. Call Me"

The third one started.

"Levi, we're headed into the woods We have civilians. I could really use you on this one; where are you?"

She snapped the phone shut and rose shutting the impala door.

Staring into the woods she gave a slight huff before walking into the trees.

Her ankle was screaming by the time she found the destroyed campsite. Groaning annoyed she paced the camp taking in the sight of Anasazi symbols dug into the dirt, torn tents. Scattered footprints and large drags in the dirt.

She followed a set of footprints from the camp. Recognizing the tread of Dean's boots

Tracks led her deeper into the forest at one point becoming lighter and frantic. She narrowed her eyes. They were running from something. But,

She turned on the spot looking around. There were no other tracks. She glanced up.

"Oh fuck" a chill went down her spine and she turned rushing to follow the last two sets of tracks along the forest floor.
