Sue Snell and her friend, Chris Hargensen, where just arriving at Sue's house after school, chatting about things typically discussed by teenagers. "So, you and Tommy going out for another night of "bowling" again, Sue?" asked Chris with a smirk. The blonde rolled her eyes and responded by saying "That's none of your businesses, Chris". She was getting annoyed by her friend's inquiries into her and Tommy's recent nights of fornication. Laughing a little, Chris changed the subject by asking "You got a prom dress yet?" "Yes, and it's a gorgeous, deep red one that's gonna wow Tommy" said Sue. They both entered the front door and were heading upstairs when Sue's mom, Eleanor, stopped them by saying "Hi sweety, how was school?" "Fine mom thanks" Sue replied before turning to go upstairs again when Eleanor said "Oh, Sue wait, I have a have a surprise waiting for you in the living room". Sue however told her "Can it wait? I was just about to show Chris..." "Just come and see please. You're going to love this." her mom interrupted. So, Sue relented and followed Eleanor to the living room with Chris close behind. Once they got there, the teens were met with the sight of two small men with white gloves and blue overalls sitting on the couch. "Hello Sue, it's a'me, Mario!" said the one with a red cap. "And Luigi!" added the other with a green cap. Sue just stood there with a shocked expression. "Wha... Mario?! Luigi?!" she asked, as a smile slowly appeared on her face. A flood of memories came rushing back to her, including the time she first met the plumber brothers.

Many years ago

Sue was currently terrified, her hands clutching the branches of a tall tree that she had hastily climbed in order escape a Chargin' Chuck that had chased her for a few yards. The aggressive koopa was now jumping up to try and snatch her from the tree, but couldn't quite reach the girl. "Help meee!" Sue screamed to anyone who could hear her. Her mom had told her not to venture too far out from their property in the Mushroom Kingdom, but she really wanted to explore more around her house and went against Eleanor's wishes. Now it seemed curiosity was about to kill the cat. Sue cried hysterically as the Chuck's leaps seemed to be getting higher. But just as it leaped up once more, a small man delivered a hard kick to it's helmet, knocking it to the ground. Sue's savior turned out to be none other than Mario himself. The koopa got up quickly, glared at Mario and made a run at him but was then kicked in the head again by Mario's brother, Luigi. The angry koopa turned it's sights on him and was about to rush him, but was soon swiftly kicked by Mario into a group of bricks. Even it's helmet wasn't enough to project the Chuck from impact, which knocked it out cold.

With the threat neutralized, the two brothers looked up at the girl in the tree, having heard her cries for help. "Are you alright a'little girl?" asked Mario. Sue nodded yes before Mario lept up and stood on the branch where she was. He gently picked her up and jumped down, landing beside Luigi. After being set down, Sue asked "What are your names?" "Oh, you a'never heard of us?" replied Luigi. Sue just shook her saying "No." "Well, my name is a'Mario and this is a'my brother Luigi. Together, we are the Super Mario Brothers" said Mario. "My name is Sue Snell" said Sue, introducing herself. "You should a'really be careful. Koopas are a'pretty abundant around this area" Mario told her. "Yes sir" replied Sue, hanging her head a little. "Why don't you tell us a'where you live so we can take you home. It's a'getting pretty late after all" said Luigi. So after receiving directions from the young girl, the two plumbers were able bring Sue back to her parents, who were worried sick about her. They were also grateful to the plumbers for saving their daughter from danger. From then on, Sue, Mario and Luigi became fast friends. The two would often visit her family and, with permission from Sue's parents, play outdoors in the safer areas around Sue's home. She even met Mario's dinosaur pal, Yoshi, who would allow her to ride on his back. Mario would also tell Sue stories about him and Luigi's many adventures and times when they saved Princess Peach from the evil Bowser.

Once Sue and her family were even invited to Peach's castle where Sue actually met the princess in person along with her friend, Toad. This was the ultimate dream come true for the little girl as she loved princesses. Although after a couple of years, Sue and her family moved away from the Mushroom Kingdom and to the small town of Chamberlain, Maine in the US. It was a tearful departure for Sue as she bid farewell to the plumbers.

Present

Sue quickly walked over to Mario and embraced him in a hug. "Whoa, it's good to see you again!" exclaimed Sue as shen then went to hug Luigi. "Yes, it is a'very good to see you again, Sue" answered Mario. Eleanor just looked on, smiling at the reunion. "I gotta say, you've a'certainly grown a'since we last saw you" Luigi commented. Sue laughed "Yeah, I sure have." "Holy shit, Sue!" Chris said with a raised voice causing all to look her way. "You actually know the Super Mario Brothers?!" "Um... yeah" said Sue somewhat sheepishly. "You never told me about this!" shouted Chris. "It just never came up in conversation." replied Sue a little defensively. "Is a'this one of your friends?" asked Mario. "Yeah, I'm Chris Hargensen. Actually, me and Sue have been friends since 6th grade" said the black-haired teen, putting on what she considered her prettiest smile. Soon all were sitting on couches and chairs with Sue and her mom catching up with the plumber brothers. "So, what brings you to Chamberlain?" asked Sue. "Well, the mayor of a'Chamberlain actually contacted Princess Peach, a'requesting me and Luigi to travel here to a'investigate a possible koopa presence" explained Mario. Sue, Chris and Eleanor's eyes all widened at this information. "Wait, koopas... here in Chamberlain?" asked Sue. "Like, what would koopas be doing here?" asked Chris . "That's what a'me and Mario are going to find out" responded Luigi. "So, how did you find out I was here?" asked Sue. "Well, after our meeting with a'the mayor, we ran into your mother who a'generously invited us over" said Mario. "We certainly a'weren't expecting to see you here, but we're glad we did." "So are me and my mom" Sue replied with a smile. After some more conversation, Mario and Luigi said goodbye to Sue and headed off to begin their investigation.
