A Whole New Chapter Pt2

Thank you to everyone that is reading this story and I really hope you guys are enjoying it. Please review and let let me know how I can improve or if you have any storylines you would like to see. How do you guys think Emily and Richard will react to Lorelai being pregnant? What do you think the sex of the baby will be? Do you have any names for the baby? Let me know :) Thanks N.

It had been two days since Lorelai had told Luke about her pregnancy, he was being amazing about everything, he did keep trying to switch her coffee to decaf and that was starting to annoy her, other than that he was being great.

She still hadn't plucked up the courage to tell her mom or Rory for that matter, she just didn't want to change their relationship. Logically she knew it wouldn't, her and Rory had always had a special bond and having another baby wasn't going to change that…or was it. Telling her mom was just going create another argument, she was used to having those every Friday anyway so really telling her mom was just going to be another Friday night at the Gilmore house. But first she had to tell Rory and soon.

Lorelai was sitting in her living room watching some old movie when Luke walked in through then front door carrying bags of food.

"Hey, I got your message, is all this food for you or is the entire town coming over?" Luke asked as he placed the bags on the table in front of the brunette.

"No, it's not just for me, it's also for you" she smirked up at him and pulled him down to sit next to her before grabbing a brown bag filled with fries and diving right in.

"How are you not 600 pounds?" the diner owner asked in complete amusement as he watched his girlfriend shovel food in her mouth.

"Trust me, in a few months I will be, I was huge when I was pregnant with Rory, you may have to roll me around when I hit 9 months" Lorelai said with a slight smile on her face as she remembered being pregnant 18 years ago.

"Speaking of Rory, have you spoke to her?" Luke muttered, avoiding eye contact as he spoke knowing this was a sore subject.

"If you're wondering about whether I've told her about our current situation the answer is no, but i'm going to…tomorrow…when she comes home from Yale for the weekend, I figured we could do it together, make it an official "your mom's replacing you" announcement" the brunette was clearly unnerved by even the thought of telling her daughter about this and Luke just stared at his lover as she rambled on.

Luke had finally had enough of listening to his woman babble on about how she's replacing her daughter and cut the brunette off with a soft kiss to her lips.

"Lorelai, you are not replacing Rory, Rory will be happy for us, she's only ever wanted you to be happy and as far as I'm aware you are, that's all that'll matter to her, I promise…and of course i'll be there to tell her with you tomorrow' Luke placed another kiss to her lips and went to stand up and get a drink from the fridge when he felt Lorelai grab his hand.

"Thank you, and of course I'm happy, how could I not be…I get free food from the hottest diner in town" the brunette let go of his hand and continued eating the fries Luke had brought over with him.

Luke rolled his eyes at the girl sitting next to him and placed a kiss on her head before getting up and get that drink.

Lorelai was pottering around her house waiting for her daughters arrival, she was gonna be here any minute now, she always showed up around lunch time and they'd go to Luke's for something to eat or they'd go to the inn and Sookie would make them lunch. Today Luke was bringing them something to eat, Lorelai had figured that in order to tell Rory her news she needed privacy and no distractions.

As she was tidying up the magazines on her coffee table she saw the headlights coming up her driveway and her heart rate sped up to an alarming rate.

She ignored the feeling in her chest and plastered a smile wide smile on her face and opened her front door to see her daughter getting out of her car and grabbing her bag.

"Is this how you greet guests in this town by staring at them silently?" Rory asked as she turned and faced the woman in which she got her name.

"I was just taking in the beauty that had just driven in to my driveway, literally you took my breathe away" Lorelai said as walked towards her little girl and wrapped her in a hug.

"I've missed ya kid" the older woman said as she held the girl close to her chest and ran a hand through the dark head of hair.

"It's not been that long mom, like a week" Rory laughed at her moms dramatics and pulled away from her.

"So you've not missed the woman that gave you life, raised you all by herself at the young age of 16 and paid for everything you needed…I'm still waiting to be reimbursed for those 18 year by the way, I did give you my bill didn't I?" the inn owner wrapped an arm around the Yale students and led her in to the house.

"Yes, I've missed you mom, I always miss you and yes I believe you did give me a bill for the last 18 years but I'm sorry to report that right now it's just not possible for me to be thinking about paying out that much money….you're gonna have to wait until I marry a billionaire" Rory spoke as she walked in to her old room and put her bags on the bed.

"Fine, I guess I can wait a little longer" Lorelai said pretending to be frustrated.

"So where are we going for lunch? I'm starving" the teenager asked turning towards her mother who was standing in the doorway of her room.

"errm, well, Luke said he was gonna bring some food over soon so we don't have to go out right now, you know the whole winter carnival thing is getting out of hand and if Taylor sees either one of us we're gonna get stopped and questioned or asked for favours and I'm really not in the mood for Taylor today, and Kirk is going something weird in a box and thats really creeping me out as well" Lorelai rambled on, trying to act normal and as if there was more to the reason why they weren't going out for lunch.

Rory stared at her mom as she spoke and she could tell there was something going on, normally the woman loved watching Kirk do something weird and tormenting Taylor was always at the top of her to do lists, she had a feeling that her mom was hiding something but she didn't want to push the subject, her mom would tell her eventually…right?

"Right, okay…when is Luke coming?" Rory enquired as she looked at the brunette in front of her with curiosity and confusion.

"He should be here soon, I told him you'd be here around lunch time so he should be here any minute now" the older woman walked to the fridge as she spoke to get a drink and also to hide her face so Rory couldn't see the fear building in her eyes.

Just as Lorelai turned away from the fridge she heard her front door open and shut, Luke announced himself as he walked in to the house and Lorelai knew the time to tell Rory the news was becoming increasingly close.

"I come carrying food for the Gilmores, yet again" Luke said as he placed the bags on the dining room table, Lorelai grabbed the plates and thanked Luke for the food. Rory watched how her mom and her boyfriend interacted and noticed that for some reason Luke was watching Lorelai closely, he wouldn't let her reach up high in the shelf and kept whispering in her ear, what he was saying she didn't know but she was sure her mom was getting either annoyed or frustrated with everything because of the look on her face the last time he whispers. Eventually Luke backs off from Lorelai and sits at the table with his girlfriends daughter.

"So, Rory, hows Yale going?" he asked to try and start up a conversation that would be easy to talk about.

"It's going okay, my literature class has been really interesting this semester so that's a bonus, living with Paris is never going to be easy though" as Rory spoke Lorelai sat at the table with her boyfriend and her best friend and smiled at what the girl was saying, she loved hearing about how well Rory was doing in college and she also loved hearing the stories she told about Paris, that girl will forever cause some kind of drama.

"What about you guys? how's everything going with the Gilmore/Danes relationship? is Taylor still not happy?" normally Rory wouldn't pry in to her mothers relationships unless she had a reason but something was clearly going on here and if her mom or Luke didn't say anything soon Rory was going to lose it.

"We're doing okay, Taylors asked everyone to think about what team they're gonna be on when the inevitable break up happens, because he's gonna hand out ribbons and he wants to know how many pink ones he'll need and how many blue" Lorelai rolled her eyes as she spoke and took a drink of water out her cup.

"Taylors always been an ass" the tiny brunette said with annoyance in her voice.

"So everything's good with you pair then?" Rory asked again hoping to push her mom closer towards telling her exactly what was on her mind.

Luke and Lorelai looked at each other quickly and looked away, it was time, they both knew it was time. Rory wasn't stupid she could feel something way going on and the last thing Lorelai needed right now was for her baby girl to worry about anything. Luke nodded at Lorelai to give her a bit of encouragement and Lorelai took a deep breath"

Rory watched the show in front of her and began to panic a little, was one of them sick? were they breaking up? so many questions went through her mind as she watched the couple communicate in silence.

"Rory, there's something your mom and I need to tell you" Luke decided to start the ball rolling because clearly his girlfriend was not going to begin this conversation.

"Is everything okay?" Rory again looked at her mom and saw how the woman was just staring at the man beside her, eventually she turned towards her daughter and smiled a little, trying to ease her little girls anxieties.

"Yeah we're fine, actually we're better than ever, closer than ever, it's just that we have a little bit of news that we need to share with you, well not little, it's quite large news actually but we're both happy with the news I just hope you are too" Luke placed a hand on his lovers leg to calm her down and Lorelai looked over at him with a look of love in her eye before turning back towards the brown haired, blued eyed teenager in front of her.

"Kid, me and Luke are gonna have a baby" Lorelai watched her daughters face for any sign of emotions whether it was anger, happiness, rejection or confusion but all she saw was a blank expression.

"Are you sure about this?" Rory asked, still not showing any emotion.

Lorelai began to panic slightly, her only thought was that she had disappointed her daughter and made her feel pushed out and replaced.

"Yeah, we're pretty sure" Luke answered with a smile on his face and placed a hand on lorelais back for comfort.

Rory broke out in to a huge smile and jumped up from her seat, she walked over to her mom and gave her a massive hug before hugging Luke.

"Guys thats amazing, I'm so happy for you both" Rory said with pure joy in her voice.

"Really? you're happy about this?" Lorelai asked in pure shock to her daughters reaction.

"Of course I'm happy for you both, you really love each other, anyone can see that and mom, you deserve to be happy and I can see in your eyes that you are so happy right now" Rory replied with a huge smile on her face and pulled her mom in for another hug.

Lorelai looked up at Luke with tears in her eyes and smiled a watery smile at him. Luke looked in to his girlfriends eyes and smiled back at her. He was so happy right now.

Lorelai continued to smile up at Luke as she hugged Rory and then it dawned on her that she still had to tell her mom and dad….suddenly she felt even more terrified than before.
