The Week's Goal
Goldilocks lay on the grass, looking up at the sky. It had been two days since the United States of America had been put to sleep. Goldilocks had one goal: stop being a total grown-up and try to be your own self! The thing was, no one would help. They all saw her as the Goldilocks with the son and the husband.
What about being a hero? About having an adventure?
"Hey, Goldilocks?"
Not again! Goldilocks spun around. "What is it, Jack? Whatever it is, it's your turn! I was enjoying central park!"
"But, Goldie, Hero is hungry."
"Alright, so you feed him! What's the problem with that?!"
Jack stalked back in anger.
"Hey!"
This time it was Bree. "What, Bree? Is Conner bugging you?"
Bree laughed. "Not at the moment, but could you play with me and Froggy and Conner Apples to Apples?"
"Sorry, I can't!" shouted back Goldilocks.
Soon Red visited again. "You want a-"
"No! Not a makeover! I'm spending my time at the park!" Goldilocks shooed her away. "At least she's not trying to kill me like she did once," she thought in frustration.
Goldilocks grabbed a hotdog and fries. It wasn't really stealing, and anyway, she stole all the time. Plus, when she really needed to, she did pay. But she should get some respect for helping save New York City! Shouldn't she? She pulled a paper and pen out of her pocket and started doodling.
"Hello, what are you doing?"
Goldilocks saw Alex spying. Oh, all right. This was an exception. "Uh, just drawing."
"Why? I never knew you liked to doodle."
"Because there's nothing else to do, that's why!"
"How about a game of cards?"
"Oh, fine."
"Wait..." Oh. So Alex understood. Wow. "Are you trying to-"
"Yes."
"Thank goodness." Alex raised her hands from the deck she was dealing. "If someone says goo-goo-gah-gah on more time I'll freak out!"
"Jack's the one who does that," said Goldilocks.
"I know, Goldie. But you get the point," said Alex.
Goldilocks nodded. "I've been trying to ever since we left Conner's house. But no one listens."
Alex put down a jack and then took it back, along with Goldilocks's nine. "Try to convince them."
"I can't," said her friend as Alex put a king on the table."
"Tough luck," said Alex as Goldilocks put down a three, and Goldie knew that Alex didn't just mean the cards.
Goldilocks flopped down on the table. "Well, at least we still have five days left!
