Chapter 2:

"Alohomora" I woke up to Daphne's voice. She tiptoed into the room, Xavier following her.

"Excuse me, Daphne, Xavier," Draco was awake already? It couldn't be after 5am, and Draco didn't normally wake until after 10, "I don't know if you realised, but there is a reason that doors have locks, and it's the holidays, so you shouldn't be using magic anyway."

Daphne and Xavier were speechless, but it didn't last long.

"Sorry Papa, it's just that Jakob told me about you two kissing in front of him, and I wanted to see you two kiss and I figured maybe you kiss at night, so I recruited Daphne to help me because I don't want to lose my magic and I'm much better at getting caught than Daph is."

Draco was even less impressed than I was, and that was saying something.

"It would serve you right to lose your magic, both of you, so I'll call Professor McGonagall about this and see what she thinks, but I expect you'll both be losing your magic, so get to bed. NOW!"

They left, cheetahs escaping a predator. But it wasn't long until we heard more footsteps at the door. I looked at Draco, and we simultaneously rolled our eyes. This time though, there was no spell to unlock the door, just a timid knock. Jakob entered.

"Hello, Jakob. Not up to any tricks like your brother, then?" Draco was more understanding this time, seen as Jakob had actually knocked, and appeared to have a better reason for coming up to our room in the middle of the night.

"I h-had a n-nightmare where I was about to be k-kidnapped, so I sn-snuck up to your r-room, but you were b-both g-one." My son's quavering voice barely reached where I was lying, half asleep.

When I woke up for the who-knows what time, it was eight am and Jakob was snuggled up in between me and my gorgeous boyfriend. My gorgeous soon-to-be fiancé. If. He. Says. Yes. One word, but I have never counted more on anything.

Anyway, about the proposal, I had to work to do.

My normally reluctant body climbed out of bed eagerly, careful not to wake Draco in the process. I picked up Jakob's sleeping body and carried him downstairs to the cinema room. The one room in the house Draco could not bear to go in. We were safe from him hearing us there. Next, I went into Xavier's room and woke him up, before heading into each of the triplets' rooms and waking them. Xavier, Calliope, Daphne and Ariadne followed me back into the cinema room, where I proceeded to wake Jakob up.

Mission propose to the love of my life had officially begun.

Ten minutes later, I was being bombarded with questions from five different excited but hushed voices.

"When's the wedding?"

"What does the ring look like?"

"Who's coming to the wedding?"

"Can I be a bridesmaid?"

"Where are you going on your honeymoon?"

"Can we come on the honeymoon?"

"What if he doesn't say yes?"

I managed to answer all of the questions, except the last one. The reality of proposing to Draco Malfoy had finally kicked in. What if he didn't say yes? It wasn't like I hadn't thought about it before, but I had never truly THOUGHT about it. It was the most important day of my life, the day I proposed to Draco. Draco Malfoy, the love of my life. Draco Malfoy, the one who made me realise so much about myself. Draco Malfoy, my arch nemesis in school. Draco Malfoy, my forever. The nerves had truly kicked in.
