Also things to note: the Island Representative uses they/them pronouns so that way you could insert your character as the Island representative or maybe the Villager from Smash Bros. this is also why the Island doesn't have a specific name. If there was anyone you could trust to plan an event on the island, It was the Island Representative. No one cared that they were the only human in the entire island, they were thankful that someone was willing to help make this island the best it could be. Even KK Slider performed here. The villagers were very thankful for the Island Representative and know they can ask them for anything. Which is why Raymond approached the Island Representative one day.
"Hey, Got a moment?" Raymond asked. The Representative halted their bug catching to talk to Raymond.
"Yeah. What's up?" The Representative said.
"I know you're in charge of holding events and stuff and I was wondering if you can help me with something?" Raymond said.
"Of course. What do you need?" The Representative asked.
"Well you see" Raymond began. "My lover and I. We've been dating for quite some time now. Like a few months since we first met when the island first began to grow. I think I'm ready to… " Raymond suddenly got all flustered.
"I think I'm ready to pop the question. I want to propose to my lover!" Raymond suddenly said. The Island Representative was in shock.
"Wow Raymond. I didn't know you had a partner. Of course I'll help you with your proposal. Just let me know what I need to do" The Island Representative said.
"Really?" Raymond said. "Oh thank you. I really appreciate it. Now here's what I need you to do"
Raymond leans closer and whispers something into the Representative's ear. The representative nods in agreement.
"Hey did you hear the news, waddler?" Iggly said to Tangy.
"No, what's going on?" Tangy said. Iggly turned to the Island Representative planting some white flowers.
"Raymond is gonna propose to his lover today. And he asked the Island Representative to help him" Iggly said. Tangy gasped.
"WOW! I didn't know Raymond was in a relationship. I wonder who it is." Tangy said. Monique walked over to the two.
"What's going on darlings? Why is the Island Representative setting stuff up like if there's an event going on?" Monique asked.
"RAYMOND IS GONNA PROPOSE. TO HIS PARTNER" Tangy said.
"Not so loud Tangy" Iggly said.
"Sorry" Tangy said.
"I didn't know Raymond was in a relationship. Good for him. Do we know who he's proposing to?" Monique asked.
"No idea. What if it's Rosie?" Tangy said.
"Can't be. She started dating Dotty recently" Iggly said.
"Really?" Tangy asked him.
"What if it's Kiki? They were talking together yesterday" Monique said.
"But Kiki isn't really looking for love after breaking up with Punchy," Tangy said. They all sighed.
"Well we'll know for sure when the moment arrives," Tangy said. "Anyway, did you guys hear about what happened to CJ?"
Later that night, the Island Representative called for everyone to meet at the garden of the island.
The garden was decorated with white flowers. In the center, a few flowers made a little heart. Raymond stood in front of everyone. All dressed up for the big moment.
"So Raymond, where are they?" the Island Representative asked.
"They should be here soon. I called them and asked them to meet me here. Oh here they come" Raymond said. "Everyone, your attention please."
A small white squirrel walked over to Raymond.
"Raymond dear, why did you call me here?" The squirrel said. Everyone gasped. Even the Island Representative was shocked.
"YOU'RE DATING MARSHAL!? " The Island Representative asked.
"Yep. He's just so cute." Raymond said, giving his boyfriend a smooch. Raymond turned to Marshal.
"Marshal, there's something I need to ask you," Raymond said.
"What is it?" Marshal asked.
"You're the most wonderful boyfriend ever. You are very cute and we are the second most popular couple on this island and I want to be with you forever and ever, crisp" Raymond said. He held his boyfriend's hand and bent down on one knee. Everyone gasped again.
"What are you doing, sulky?" Marshal said. Raymond reached into his pocket and pulled out a small black box. He opened the box and there was a ring inside of it.
"Will you marry me, and make me the happiest cat on this island?" Raymond asked. At this point everyone was freaking out. Blathers, Celeste, the Able Sisters, Tom Nook, Timmy and Tommy and Isabelle were now present and they were just as excited as everyone else.
"Oh Raymond… " Marshal said, trying not to cry. He couldn't believe his boyfriend was proposing to him in front of all of his friends.
"Yes, I will marry you!" Marshal said. Everyone cheered. The Island Representative, along with a few other villagers, began to cry.
"Aw Blathie, this is like how Daddy proposed to Mother" Celeste told her big brother.
"I always knew those two were a thing. What else do you do when you're both the most popular people on the Island?" Apollo said.
"Will that be us someday, wee one?" Dotty told her girlfriend.
"Of course. You're like the cutest girlfriend Dotty and I'll buy you the biggest ring bells can afford" Rosie said. Raymond placed the ring on his boyfriend's hand. It fit perfectly. The Island Representative walked to the engaged couple.
"Oh Island Representative, thank you so much for helping me propose to Marshal." Raymond said. The representative wiped their tears.
"I'm so happy for you two. If you need help with anything, don't be afraid to let me know" The Island Representative said.
"Actually, can you help us plan our wedding? If that's not too much to ask" Raymond said.
"Of course I'll help. I'll talk to Nook and Isabelle to see what we can do" The Representative said.
"Oh thank you so much. We are so thankful" Marshal said. The Representative cheered.
"Woohoo! Raymond and Marshal are engaged. Here's to an eternal life together" The representative said to no one.
