The gates were open for anyone who wanted to come to the wedding. Villagers from islands all over the getaway package came to this special event. The villagers were all dressed in formal attire for this special day. On one side of the room were mostly the squirrel villagers. Filbert was snacking on something as usual and Hazel was chatting with the other squirrels. On the other side of the room were mostly cat villagers. Rosie and Dotty were chatting, Kiki was reading, and Mitzi was crying because she was happy for her friends.
The Island Representative was putting up the last of the decorations when Tom Nook approached them.
"Everything is all set up, yes. We just need Raymond at the altar already" Tom Nook said.
"Where is Raymond?" The Representative asked. The two of them suddenly heard someone run up to them. It was Raymond and he looked like a mess.
"I'm sorry I overslept, crisp" Raymond said.
"On your wedding day of all days?" Tom Nook asked. "Whatever. Slick back your hair and get to the altar. We can't start without you" Raymond sighed and rushed to the altar.
"Alright we can begin the ceremony. Let's hope everything goes well. Wouldn't want some mad doctor crash the wedding with missles asking for information about the Flames of Disaster and obtain the sacred gem the Chaos Emerald" Tom Nook said. They both laughed before taking their seats.
As Kiki played the organ, everyone focused on the white squirrel at the end of the hall. He was wearing a white tuxedo with a black bowtie. He began to walk down the aisle as the music played. Marshal walked over to Raymond. The Island Representative was standing between the two.
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join Marshal and Raymond in holy matrimony. If there is any reason why Raymond and Marshal should not get married, speak now or forever hold your peace" The Island Representative said. Dead silence fills the island.
"That's good. Now then, I remember the first day you two moved onto the Island. You seemed to get along very well. It's no wonder you two hit it off in the end. I am very happy for you two and I wish you both the best" The Island representative said. "Now I believe Tom Nook wanted to say a few words"
"Yes I do," Tom Nook said. He walks up to the front of the arch.
"Marriage is a wonderful thing yes? It doesn't matter who is getting married, what matters is that the couple agrees to always be with each other for the rest of their lives. And that's a wonderful feeling" Tom Nook said. Everyone cheered.
"Now then, may I have the rings?" The Representative said. Making her way down the aisle as the ring bear was Daisy Mae. She made it to the front of the arch and held out the pillow.
"Here ya go" Daisy Mae said. Raymond and Marshal took the rings.
"I, Raymond, give you Marshal this ring as a sign of my love" Raymond said placing the ring on Marshal.
"No need to be so fancy, sulky" Marshal said. Everyone laughed.
"Um.. I, Marshal, give you Raymond this ring as a sign of my love" Marshal said.
"Now I believe this is when you two say your vows, yes?" Tom Nook said.
"My vows? Um.. Yes, I remember them, crisp" Raymond said. "Um.." Raymond cleared his throat.
"Marshal… you are the cutest boyfriend ever. And you'll be the cutest husband ever. Maybe even the cutest father someday. On the day that I met you, I was very nervous I'll admit. I thought you would never love someone who is a complete mess like me. But it turns out you do. And I hope you'll continue to love me. Like I love you. No matter what happens, I'll be here for you" Raymond said. Mitzi started crying again.
"MITZI!" Everyone yelled.
"Sorry, I'm just getting so emotional over this, mew" Mitzi said.
"Um Raymond. I'm not that cute. There are other villagers who are cuter than me. But I appreciate that you-"
"What? Are you kidding Marshal? You're adorable. Your little smile. Your eyes. And when you sing Bubblegum K.K, you made my heart flutter" Raymond said.
"Oh Raymond…" Marshal said all flustered. "If I have to hear you complement me every day for the rest of my life, I will be happy as ever. And I can't wait for what comes next. I love you Raymond and I am honored to be here and become your husband" Everyone applauded. The Island Representative wiped their tears.
"Raymond… Do you take Marshal to be your husband? To love and to cherish for as long as you both shall live until death do you part?" The Representative said.
"I do," Raymond said.
"And do you Marshal take Raymond to be your husband?" The island representative said.
"I do," Marshal said.
"Then by the power invested in me on this island, I pronounce you husband and husband. You may kiss" The island representative said. Raymond and Marshal smiled before coming together for a kiss. Everyone cheered. Mitzi started crying again.
"Please welcome the newlywed couple: Raymond and Marshal" Tom Nook said. he gave the island rep a tissue because they started to cry.
At the wedding venue, Marshal and Raymond approached the Island Representative.
"We can't thank you enough for all you've done," Raymond said. "You helped us with the most happiest day of our lives"
"You're welcome, you two. Gosh I'm so happy for you two. I'll always be there when you need help" The Representative said.
"Good because we are terrible with baby names," Marshal said. The three of them laughed.
"Enjoy your wedding, you two." The Representative said.
"Enjoy the party Island Representative. Now if you'll excuse us, we're gonna be tearing it up on the dance floor, crisp" Raymond said before grabbing Marshal by the hand and taking him to the dance floor. The Representative cheered.
"The wedding was a success! I hope Raymond and Marshal save me some cake" The Representative said to no one.
"Everyone, your attention please" a voice said. Everyone turned to see KK Slider on the stage. He was wearing a bow tie for this occasion.
"This next song goes out to the lovely newly wedded couple Raymond and Marshal. It's called 'Ain't no Mountain High Enough'. And hear to help me sing it is this island's lovely assistant and my number one fan Isabelle" KK said. Isabelle walks onto the stage wearing a lovely white dress.
"Thank you Everyone. I will do my best" Isabelle said. Everyone cheered. The music began to play and everyone began to dance the night away. In the middle of the dance floor was Raymond and Marshal, who were as happy as ever because they were about to start the next chapter of their lives, together as one.
