Fashion & Passion, Part 1
Minerva slowly woke up to see that sunlight shined through the windows of her apartment, making her bedroom look somewhat brighter, and she sat up in the bed while feeling glad that a new day had arrived. Minerva smiled a bit as she got out of bed, before raising her arms high above her head, and the black-haired woman let a soft yawn be released from her beautiful lips. She turned around to see that one of her favorite blue dresses was still on the floor, since Minerva felt too tired to hang it up in the closet, but Minerva noticed a certain green-haired mage still being asleep.
She slowly went around to that side of the bed with a stern facial expression, ready to wake Lucy up for them both take showers, and Minerva even thought about striking Lucy with an energy wave that would be cold like the glacial ice from the mountains that were near the chilly northern town of Eisetsu. Minerva also hoped that Lucy wouldn't try to say that she needed a few more hours of sleep, since there was the time-consuming dilemma of helping Lucy find some new magic that she could use to compensate for not having any Celestial Spirits around, and Minerva wouldn't be patient with Sabertooth's newest mage.
Minerva's tanned feet walked across the floor's wooden boards that gently creaked, and she went over to Lucy's side of the bed to see that she was indeed sleeping. However, the beautiful tigress of Sabertooth took notice of how Lucy seemed to look afraid as she slept. Minerva watched Lucy utter some words about begging Erza to not make one of her swords appear, and Lucy sounded like she was pleading with the scarlet-haired woman to not hurt her. Minerva watched Lucy's legs barely move around, almost like she had been tied up.
Lucy began to toss and turn while her hands tightly touched her stomach, almost like she had been stabbed, and Minerva put her face close to Lucy's mouth for her to hear Lucy softly tell her impostor to stop laughing. Lucy's body began to tremble while she was starting to claim that some magic was so gold, possibly referring to Celestial Spirit Magic, and Minerva watched Lucy's hands be in a pleading manner while tears began to fall from her eyes. Minerva scoffed as she heard Lucy beg her impostor to not make an attack of Celestial Spirit Magic come down on her, and the moment it seemed to hit Lucy in her nightmare was the same moment where Minerva hit her with a cold energy wave from her right hand.
"Don't let me die!" Lucy exclaimed with pure fear in her voice while quickly opening her eyes, before sitting up in the bed.
Minerva asked Lucy with an annoyed facial expression, "Well, isn't it nice that you're here instead of being dead?"
Lucy responded nicely as she calmed down, looking at her green hair before looking at Minerva and exhaling some breaths, "Wow, Minerva. Yesterday wasn't a dream, and I truly am stuck like this."
Minerva sighed in a rude manner while wanting to tell Lucy how her observation was very obvious, but she simply watched Lucy look down at her orange vest top and green booty shorts. Lucy looked down at them with regretful eyes, almost like she wished telling Team Natsu that she was sick had been an option she thought of before going out to the town of Tokiwa, and some tears fell from Lucy's eyes as she hated the fact that Haruka was too strong for her to be able to even avoid this bad situation. Lucy felt like her life had truly been stolen away from her, prompting her to remove the clothes that were on her body.
Lucy felt waves of depression come over her as she thought more about the situation, imagining that Haruka would have many fun times with Erza and the other members of Team Natsu while masquerading as the real Lucy Heartfilia forever, and Lucy would never be able to have them as her friends ever again. Even going out on a mission with Minerva wouldn't help Lucy's depression go away, as she fully realized the gravity of this whole situation, and Lucy felt very alone while not even having Aquarius around to scold her.
Minerva watched Lucy look quite saddened about the situation while she felt like it needed to be shrugged off, but Minerva gasped a bit from not feeling her feet start to walk away. She wanted to just take a shower and get the high-paying job over with, which would've helped her and Lucy both have some money that Minerva would split unfairly, but Minerva's beautiful green eyes looked at Lucy to see that she probably wouldn't be able to focus on the mission at all if she was experiencing feelings of depression and regret.
The thought of being a comforting figure was something that Minerva viewed to be troublesome, since Sting and Rogue normally comforted Yukino when she felt extremely timid or anxious about embarrassing herself on a mission, but Minerva let out a soft sigh. She touched Lucy's cheeks with her hands, before gently raising her head for their eyes to meet, and Minerva surprised Lucy by starting to give her a soft smile of reassurance. Minerva even rubbed Lucy's right cheek in a calm manner while wanting her to feel like there would be a reason for them to handle this mission together, and maybe there would be a way for Haruka's spell to be reversed.
"Listen, Lucy. When you fought against me, you claimed that you wouldn't give up. Your overconfidence about winning really surprised me." Minerva explained to her in a calm tone, maintaining her smile.
Lucy asked with a surprised look on her face, before speaking in a depressed tone, "Really? Minerva, I remember how you referred to me as a useless piece of garbage."
Minerva asked Lucy in a calm tone while beginning to smile, "You didn't really like my choice of words, little Lucy? Well, why don't you seize this opportunity to show me what you can do with new magic? After all, wouldn't some shops be open right now?"
Her words definitely reached the ears of Lucy, who looked over at the clock to see that the current time was 8:37 a.m., and that prompted Lucy to get off of the bed . She ran towards the bathroom while intending to take a quick shower to make herself smell very clean, and Minerva comically sighed at how she was a little too persuasive. Lucy would probably not want Minerva in the shower with her, since one person could have tons of enjoyment in a shower with lots of hot water, and Minerva had been hoping to shower alone.
Minerva felt her feet be able to move again, which made her smile in a very pleased manner, and she headed towards the bathroom while wanting to just take her shower. As Minerva slowly pulled down her white lacy panties with her left hand and unhooked her lacy white bra with her right hand, she felt slightly curious as to why her legs wouldn't allow her to walk away from Lucy earlier. Minerva frowned while thinking that she couldn't have possibly wanted to stay and comfort Lucy, even though she was now a mage of Sabertooth, and Minerva simply told herself that she was only doing what a superior woman would do for any of her subordinates.
One hour later, in Saffron Town...
Lucy walked through the large town of Saffron with Minerva, seeing several shops that looked amazing while some of the smaller stores seemed pretty cue, and there were different types of stores that could help the two girls feel satisfied today. One restaurant on the same street as Minerva's apartment sold plates of pancakes in different flavors while several customers found those pancakes to be quite delicious, and Minerva had stopped there with Lucy for them to get some strawberry pancakes with some mocha coffee as part of their breakfast.
Minerva glanced at some of the merchant shops to see that some of them were selling books that pertained to different types of magic, along with some magical gems that were rumored to not be cursed, and Minerva hoped that none of the merchants would try to scam Lucy out of the three-thousand jewels that the black-haired woman allowed her to borrow. Her green eyes soon caught sight of a blonde-haired merchant who looked quite relaxed while she appeared to be selling Holder Magic in the form of rings that were in different colors, which prompted Minerva to direct Lucy towards that merchant's shop.
The two women went to the merchant shop where a lady with wavy blonde hair and golden eyes sold rings that were being displayed in a small rectangular white case, and Lucy really hoped that one of these rings was going to allow her to have a new type of magic at her disposal, since she started to wonder if the job of being a model would require her to show off a unique type of magic that could look appealing, and she glanced down at the rings to see that they didn't look like wedding rings or even resemble the gold rings that some wizards received from rich clients on jobs.
Lucy's mint green eyes took notice of six rings that formed a hexagon around the seventh ring that was pink, and the pink ring had a rose pink gemstone on top of it while a pink rhombus-shaped object appeared to be inside the gemstone. That certainly seemed odd to Lucy, who watched the pink ring start to shine with seven thin pink beams of light emanating from it when the sunlight touched the ring, and the sun's rays also caused the other rings to brightly shine for a few moments. The sight of the shining rings seemed amazing to Lucy, but she could only choose one.
"Excuse me, miss. Does that pink ring have any effects, and how much does it cost?" Lucy politely said, before asking the merchant a question with curiosity in her eyes.
The merchant explained kindly while smiling at Lucy, "This is the Starry Ring, and it allows the wielder to have magic that is quite heavenly. However, you'll have to put up with the previous owner's spells because of how that gem seems immune to magic-nullifying spells. Anyway, it'll cost you three-thousand jewels."
Lucy replied with a happy smile on her face, before pulling out the money from her pink miniskirt's right pocket, "Thank you so much! I now have something to replace my golden keys!"
Lucy handed the money to the merchant, who simply wore a dainty yellow dress with some white shorts underneath it, and the older woman gladly took the money from the Sabertooth mage. She counted the bills for a moment to make sure that Lucy made a precise payment, before putting the money down to pick up the ring with the index finger and thumb of her left hand, and she placed the ring into the palm of Lucy's right hand. The merchant watched Lucy proceed to place the ring on the ring finger of her right hand, before a pink aura surrounded her body, and the pink ring began to glisten in the sunlight once again.
Minerva watched Lucy turn around to face her while the younger girl's eyes twinkled with excitement, and Lucy was about to give Minerva a high-five for helping her complete this little task. However, the slight urge to summon up her magical power made Lucy's eyes become Kelly green while a pink projectile was fired from her hand. Minerva quickly warped the attack to be quite high above the town of Saffron, and Lucy's attack was a star-shaped projectile. It detonated into a pink focused burst that caught the attention of several civilians, but the light faded away quickly.
Lucy accidentally focused her magical power on a second spell, which was known as Starry Constellation, and this attack caused a wall of seven stars to appear between the two girls. Minerva immediately warped that attack up into the sky, allowing it to burst while several thin pink beams of Heavenly Body Magic came down from the sky, and they miraculously only hit the ground. Some pink blasts of heavenly energy transpired, which made some of the citizens think that they were caught in someone's wild fireworks display.
Minerva turned around to see some of the young kids who aspired to be Sabertooth mages point at Lucy in an amazed manner while they had seen her be the person who made those cool explosions occur in the daytime, but that only prompted Minerva to turn back around quickly. She proceeded to grab Lucy's left hand with her right hand, before hastily walking to the train station with a somewhat miffed look on her face, and Minerva didn't want Lucy to destroy Saffron Town before even earning any money as a Sabertooth wizard.
"Those spells were cute, but cuteness doesn't make you a great mage." Minerva sternly told Lucy, as she sidestepped to avoid the small craters in the ground.
Lucy asked Minerva with a curious facial expression, "You thought my spells were cute, Minerva?"
Minerva replied nicely while clarifying the meaning of her words, "Those spells were weak, Lucy, and you also need to control them."
Lucy's eyes became mint green again as she glanced at one of the craters that was created in front of a bakery, and seeing how the attack came close to destroying a shop made Lucy start to sigh sadly. She may have just received this Heavenly Body Magic today, but gaining control over it would be a task that did need to take some time. Lucy really hoped that she could become proficient at using her new spells, and she really would have to see from close-range how they truly worked. That way, Lucy could find ways to use them in a strategic manner.
As Minerva went to the train station with Lucy behind her, she began to look slightly surprised at how she viewed Lucy's spells as having cuteness. Minerva had worn another one of her favorite blue dresses, but Lucy had decided to wear an elegant pink dress that was strapless while Minerva recommended that Lucy wear some cherry red flat shoes to match. Lucy wore her hair down, and Minerva thought that she looked better than the thief who wore clothes that Minerva perceived to not be fashionable at all. Minerva began to smile from seeing the train station start to be within sight, and Minerva looked back at Lucy for a split second before her cheeks faintly blushed pink from seeing her dress show off a decent amount of cleavage.
Three hours later, in Sekichiku Town...
Lucy and Minerva arrived in the town of Sekichiku, a town that had its streets paved in cobblestone that was pale pink while the flowers in some gardens near the train station gave off strange scents, but the girls weren't here to smell any roses. Minerva pulled out the pink flyer from the left pocket of her blue dress, and the job description had stated how the client needed some fashion models. Minerva and Lucy walked into the town to see that the houses resembled old-fashioned Japanese mansions while the roofs were in the color of fuchsia, and they decided to walk up the street.
Minerva took notice of some females who ran past her and Lucy while they wore some fancy dresses, and that prompted the stern woman from Sabertooth to follow those women. Lucy noticed how this town had citizens who oddly specialized in having magic that was pink, such as how one of the nearby female citizens seemed to create a large pink flame in her left hand for the purpose of showing it off to her young son, and the two protagonists even stopped for a moment to evade a mage who fired a pink beam of heavenly energy from her mouth. It struck the ground to create a pink blast that left an average-sized crater behind, and Minerva humorously thought that Lucy's skills were rubbing off on other people from afar.
Lucy and Minerva didn't lose track of the women who they were following, however, and they noticed that the two pink-haired females made a right turn. The strange sight of two people running through town in fancy dresses while there was no type of festival going on seemed very odd to Lucy and Minerva, but they continued to pursue the women and see if they had any connection to their job. Minerva assumed that a town with a job for models would have fireworks in the air right now, but she started to scoff while it was possible that the famous models and fashion designers hadn't arrived in Sekichiku yet.
As the two excited females ran into a dome-shaped building that had a hot pink roof, Minerva and Lucy hastened their walking speeds to get themselves closer to the dome. The building was light pink while the glass doors that could be pushed open were surprisingly scarlet red, and Minerva could hear some music playing inside the building. She narrowed her green eyes while hoping that she and Lucy didn't accidentally find Sekichiku Town's dance club, and Minerva was not going to dance with Lucy. As Minerva took notice of a red bow that was cutely positioned above the doors, Lucy walked towards a pink sign that was wooden and rectangular while this sign had black writing on it.
"Welcome to the Sekichiku Town Contest Hall. Show your beautiful and graceful magic for prizes, or for other tasks!" Lucy read in a calm tone while smiling, before turning around to face Minerva.
That prompted Minerva to reply with a facial expression that showed some realization, before speaking nicely, "As weird as the building seems, this might be the place. Lucy, don't do anything that keeps us from succeeding."
Lucy comically responded, looking somewhat irritated, "Minerva, I totally won't ruin this for us and you should have more faith in your new teammate!"
Lucy watched Minerva walk past her to go into the contest hall, and Minerva's hips swayed back and forth in a relaxed manner while the blue dress showed off the upper part of her beautiful back. Lucy walked behind the older woman while taking notice of how Minerva moved her hips, and she simply thought that Minerva could be a very good model. Lucy tried to move her hips in the same elegant yet sultry way, but she merely pushed the weight of her rear to lightly be against the tulip pink walls of the building's interior.
The two women stepped into the contest hall to see that the carpeting was scarlet red while the walls of the entire room were tulip pink, and the reception desk was located straight ahead while two doors were on its left and right sides. Minerva headed to the reception desk with Lucy while seeing the two girls from earlier go through a door that possibly led to the stage, and Minerva wouldn't mind doing some modeling in her own clothes. She walked up to the pink reception desk where a certain mage from another guild was working as the receptionist, and Minerva smirked while Lucy's eyes widened in shock.
The wizard working as the receptionist was Juvia Lockser, a blue-eyed woman from the Fairy Tail guild who had her blue hair in several large curls while she wore a light blue dress that had straps, and she sat in front of a Roster Lacrima Crystal while typing in the names of the previous two women who were also here to be models. Juvia hastily typed their names in on the pink orb that would send the information to a pink screen for the announcer to see right before the fashion show began, and the Rain Woman glanced up from the Roster Lacrima Crystal to surprisingly see Minerva from Sabertooth standing there with another mage behind her.
As Minerva sternly looked at Juvia, she hoped that the water-wielding woman wouldn't be spiteful enough to deny the girls entry into the fashion show. Minerva recalled how she sent Juvia out of the sphere in the Naval Battle while she had been distracted by Gray really disliking her strong spell of Water Magic, and that cheap trick was honestly quite funny to Minerva. She simply put Juvia at fault for not focusing on the competition, since trying to impress Gray was her downfall that really could've been avoided if Juvia fought for herself, and Minerva softly scoffed at Juvia.
"I'm Minerva Orland, and she's Lucy Heartfilia. Put our names in for the fashion show, since we'll be models." Minerva told Juvia in a calm tone while starting to give her a serious look, hoping this job would be very simple.
Juvia responded with a confused facial expression while proceeding to look at the girl behind Minerva, "She is not Lucy Heartfilia, Minerva. That can't possibly be right, based on how Juvia has seen Lucy many times before."
Lucy replied cleverly while getting out from behind Minerva to be right next to her, "You're the famous Juvia Lockser who has a crush on Gray Fullbuster! My name is Hizuki Hanaya, and I'd love to help the beautiful Minerva with modeling today!"
Juvia's blue eyes shifted from showing confusion to displaying some feelings of happiness from how she seemingly had a number-one fan who admired her, and she wasted no time with entering the names of the women into the Roster Lacrima Crystal. Minerva turned to Lucy in a surprised manner while wondering why she gave Juvia a fake name, thinking that Lucy would have no reason to lie to her friend from Fairy Tail, but Lucy smiled softly at Minerva while viewing her decision as necessary for them to both be given access to the modeling event of the fashion show.
After Juvia finished their registration, Lucy and Minerva went through the door that was to the left of the reception desk. As they went backstage to change into fashionable dresses, a woman with blonde wavy hair and golden eyes slowly entered the contest hall. She wore a black leather jacket and some black leather pants while her midriff shirt was yellow, and this woman wore some golden flat shoes. She let her eyes wander around the room for a few moments, before seeing a brown-haired woman in a purple dress walk by with a microphone, and the stranger could only smirk in a scheming manner as she clenched her fists in anger at the sight of that woman who seemed familiar to her.
How was Chapter 4? Did you like it? Lucy and Minerva are now on their first job together, and they seem to be an interesting pair. The next chapter will be quite long, just so you know. Anyway, what will happen when Lucy and Minerva have to be fashion models? Will Lucy need Minerva's help? What causes Minerva to blush, and what nice moment happens between her and Lucy? Also, will Lucy's magic need her to have a passion for fashion? Standby for the update!
