Fashion & Passion, Part 2
Lucy and Minerva went backstage to see that they were in a pink-tiled hallway with pink walls to match, and Minerva opened one of the doors that was to her left. She walked into the room to see that other females were changing into their fancy dresses while one female around Lucy's age wore a white variation of Minerva's sexy dress, and some of them were even surprised to see that one of the fiercest mages from Sabertooth was now in this large room that had a white-tiled floor with white walls to compliment it. There were racks with several dresses on them, too.
Lucy went over to an area that was between two racks of dresses, and she smiled nicely while softly moving some dresses out of the way to see if there were any cuter ones for her to wear. Lucy turned around to face the other rack for the purpose of seeing its dresses, and her mint green eyes started to twinkle with delight from seeing a dress that looked quite perfect for her to wear. Even though there were other girls around and some lovely pink vanities that had nice mirrors, Lucy didn't mind unzipping the back of her elegant pink dress for it to gently fall to the floor, and she got a neon green dress off of the rack.
The dress appeared to be in Lucy's size while it had a dark green bow on the front side of it, and there was a leaf green sash near the bottom of the dress. This dress also had some ruffles at the bottom, which made it seem even more cute in Lucy's eyes, and she slowly put it on. As the dress got to be on her body, Lucy loved how the fabric of this beautiful dress made her feel quite relaxed. The dress was actually designed a few years ago by a famous fashion designer who had entered the industry as a model, so Lucy certainly wore a dress representing success.
She had her hair down while walking towards the nearest vanity to see how she looked in this new dress, and Lucy bent over slightly to be able to see her face in the mirror. She noticed that a white makeup kit was on the desk of the vanity, and there were also different makeup brushes on the desk. Lucy picked up the somewhat thick brush with her right hand, and she placed it in the light pink color of the makeup kit for a few moments. Lucy pulled out the brush to see that she had put it into some pink blush powder, and she simply applied it to her cheeks.
"I wonder if I can find some nice accessories in this place, too." Lucy said aloud to herself while smiling happily, before opening a desk drawer to find bows for her hair and lipstick dispensers.
A female stage manager who had orange eyes and long black hair that fell to her hips calmly told the girls while opening the door, "You have thirty minutes to get ready, ladies."
Lucy thought to herself while putting a bow in the normal shade of green on the left side of her head, "I really hope that I'll do well for Sabertooth."
As Lucy gently put some light pink lipstick on her lips, she looked around to see that there was a brown shoe rack at the back of the room. Lucy planned on getting some mint green high-heeled shoes to complete her outfit, but turning around and walking away from the vanity in such a relaxed manner made some of the other females look quite amazed at the dress that Lucy picked out for herself. One of the girls comically wished that she was one of the photographers who had a backstage pass with all access to each room in the building, which made Lucy wonder if any famous people would be attending this event.
Minerva removed one of her favorite blue dresses for the purpose of wearing an elegant purple dress that had four white dots on the front of it, and chest area of the dress had some orchid purple lines that bordered the violet area of this part of the dress. Minerva's right hand moved around to her back for the purpose of pulling up the light blue zipper, and the dress showed off a fair amount of cleavage that allowed Minerva to show off her sexiness. Minerva also thought that she wouldn't need to wear any makeup, since she had applied some to her face this morning.
Minerva kicked off her blue high-heeled shoes to find some violet or orchid purple high-heeled shoes that would be perfect for her to wear, and Minerva decided to take the pair of purple high-heeled shoes that were nearby. They may have been the right size for her feet, but Lucy would've probably told Minerva that taking another girl's shoes wasn't a good thing to do. Based on how several of the girls were leaving the room to head to the main room of the contest hall to be on the fashion runway, Minerva didn't mind that one of the girls left their shoes here for Minerva to temporarily take them.
As the beautiful Minerva gracefully stepped into those shoes with her lips forming a satisfied smile while her green eyes showed the feeling of relaxation, she got to see Lucy slowly walk past her and be giggling cutely at how she could manage to easily walk in her new mint green high-heeled shoes. Lucy celebrated by letting out a nie cheer of victory, and Minerva simply smiled at her while being glad that her teammate wasn't going to be a burden on this mission. As Lucy walked, however, Minerva found herself staring at how the dress made Lucy's rear seem appealing.
"Lucy, you picked out a good dress. It really shows that you have a nice figure, especially with your curves." Minerva told Lucy in a calm tone, wanting to give her teammate at least one compliment.
That prompted Lucy to respond with a cheerful smile on her face, appreciating that compliment, "Thank you, Minerva!"
Minerva thought to herself while her eyes looked at a nearby vanity for a moment, "Did I really just say that this newbie has a nice figure?"
She snapped herself out of her thoughts while her eyes began to have a focused look in them, and she calmly walked towards Lucy as she placed her left hand on her left hip. Minerva stood in front of Lucy while starting to smile in an elegant manner, and she turned to her right side before using her right hand to blow a kiss towards Lucy. Minerva proceeded to walk past Lucy like a fashionable model, even choosing to do a hair flip, and Minerva was simply practicing a bit before the fashion show actually began. As Minerva smiled confidently about impressing the crowd, Lucy smiled happily from the honey scent of Minerva's hair.
Lucy watched Minerva proceed to walk out of the room, as she didn't want to be late for the fashion show's first announcements, and that prompted Lucy to try running after her. Lucy soon noticed that she couldn't run well in her high-heeled shoes, prompting her to just try walking out of the dressing room, and she hoped to catch up with her teammate. As Lucy walked behind Minerva, she thought about how the older woman wore some glossy dark lipstick that actually looked really nice. Lucy wore a lighter shade of lipstick, but the lipstick on Minerva's lips gave off a nice scent.
Meanwhile, in the main room of the contest hall...
The room where the fashion show would transpire had several rows of pink seats that looked down at the stage where the fashion models would be walking, and the room had rose pink walls while the carpeting was in the beautiful color of scarlet red. The stage itself was in a tan brown color while the runway was long, and the area where the models would initially stand was in the shape of a rectangle. The wall that separated the audience from the models was golden, and there was a skylight up above everyone to let the warmth of the sunlight enter the building.
The staff members who entered the door on the right were leading some famous fashion designers into the contest hall, very pleased to see them wearing fancy dresses or signature fur coats that they had designed for Sorcerer Magazine, and the celebrities were able to get some seats in the front row. They would gladly sign some autographs for the fans who would also be sitting near them or behind them, since this fashion show only happened once a year like the Grand Magic Games, and not all of the celebrities would attend it every year.
One of the celebrities in attendance, however, was actually a disgraced fashion designer named Sherry Yukisaki. She had shown up without receiving an invitation, and the blonde-haired woman with golden eyes entered the contest hall with a stern facial expression. She was glad that the staff members were helping other fashion designers get seated, and she casually sat in one of the back rows to avoid the staff members thinking that she had to be seated. If any of them recognized her, then Sherry would probably be teased about how she had some of the worst dresses on display last year while Jenny Realight from Blue Pegasus had thought that she didn't look gorgeous in the designer dress that Sherry made for her.
Sherry had secretly put one of her dresses in the inventory during the week before the fashion show, but getting her reputation back wasn't as important as getting back at the judges who hated her dresses while one of these important people in the fashion show also heavily criticized her when she was a model. Sherry's lips formed a clever smile as she desired to get her popularity back, and she didn't care to upstage the other models who would be participating in the fashion show. As she sat in her seat, however, Sherry was approached by a staff member who had her red hair in curls like Juvia while she wore a red dress shirt with dark red dress pants to match.
"Excuse me, miss. You should go down to one of the lower rows for a better view. Wait, you're-" The staff member calmly smiled, before being in shock as she recognized Sherry.
The vengeful woman told the staff member with a harsh look in her eyes, before hitting her in the face with a burst of light from her right hand, "I'm the woman who's going to get my fame back, and you won't stand in my way. None of you will, especially not that excited bitch from last year."
The staff member exclaimed in a painful manner while the intense burst of light blinded her eyes for a moment, before losing her balance and falling down the stairs, "My eyes! My eyes! That's so bright, and I can't see a thing! Oh, no!"
The moment that Sherry unleashed her yellow light that seemed to swirl around like it was an aura was the moment that she decided to sneak out of the contest hall, since people could perceive that as her wanting to get away from a sudden burst of light, and the mages in the contest hall could only sense her magic while no one would pinpoint it exactly on to her. Sherry wanted her plan for revenge to not hit any snags, and she made sure that the amount of energy in her spell was enough to blind that staff member long enough for them to not even see that she would be gone soon.
As Sherry ran out of the room, the staff member rolled down to the front row while the light began to fade from her eyes. She slowly stood up to get the attention of some female celebrities, who were really horrified by how she had a black eye while her eyes also looked really red. Looking directly into Sherry's aura light was quite painful, since her punch had a good amount of magic infused into it, and the staff member tried to stay on her feet while she planned to go back up the stairs to call security. She could mainly only see from her right eye while her left eye began to have blurred vision, and the staff member frowned at how this place didn't hire any mages as bodyguards.
Sherry grinned in a sadistic manner while charging up the light yellow aura in her right hand, before slamming it against the ground, and that spell was merely known as Thunder's Aura. It created a light yellow flash that blinded everyone who was near the reception desk, including Juvia, and that gave Sherry some time to run backstage while no one would follow her. The light was quite intense to where some of Sekichiku Town's citizens and some fans of the celebrities wondered if that was part of the fashion show, and they kept their eyes shut for some more minutes after the light faded away.
Juvia was the first person to open her eyes, only to see that the woman suddenly vanished, and her attack didn't seem to create an explosion. The Rain Woman wondered if she was just dealing with a mage that also wanted to commit acts of mass delinquency by pulling immature pranks, but Juvia could not leave her position to pursue a rude wizard. She saw some of the hardcore fans open their eyes and look around with smiles on their faces, wondering if that female just pulled off some amazing magic that involved a vanishing trick, and they viewed that as something awesome.
Juvia thought to herself with a puzzled facial expression, "This day is so weird for Juvia. First, Minerva shows up. Then, she claims that a girl is Lucy Heartfilia. After that, this burst of light happened in front of Juvia."
One of the female fans happily announced while opening her eyes, not wanting to miss her chance for an autograph, "Let's go see if we can talk to the celebrities now, everybody!"
As the fans ran into the room where the fashion show would take place and pushed past one of the staff members who would ask to see their tickets, Juvia started to have some more thoughts about that green-haired girl possibly being Lucy Heartfilia. Juvia wondered if Lucy dyed her hair, but that would not explain how her eyes were much different from her usual color of cocoa brown. Juvia didn't want to jump to any conclusions, but she would keep it to herself instead of announcing something weird to the other members of Fairy Tail.
Speaking of something that was weird, Juvia's mind shifted to a little thought about the woman who created that yellow flash of light. Juvia started to frown at her little fantasy of that woman getting thrown out for trying to meet a fashionable guy who oddly looked exactly like Gray in her imagination, and she wondered if that female made her light be the equivalent of a smoke bomb before she went somewhere. Juvia hoped that no one would try to steal Gray during the fashion show, even though he wasn't there, and Juvia felt like the fashion show would occur without any major problems.
30 minutes later, in the main room of the contest hall...
The fashion show soon began, and a brown-haired woman who wore a strapless purple dress held a black microphone in her left hand while she happily announced that the Sekichiku Fashion Show would now commence. Lucy and Minerva stayed backstage while they watched some of the models walk on to the tan brown stage, and those women seemed to walk with confidence as they would show off the lovely dresses of the designers. Some bright stage lights were aimed down at the area where the models would walk, too.
Lucy watched three more of the models go through the opening in the elegant pink curtains to be on the stage, and she took notice of how the rectangular area at the end of the runway where each model would stand seemed to be the area for cute poses. She watched a model with short brown hair pose in a confident manner while showing off how the brown dress that she wore was able to expose her shoulders in a sexy manner, and the three judges sat down at a golden rectangular table that was a few feet away from the posing area of the runway.
The models would pose for about ten seconds, which supposedly was enough time for them to make themselves seem quite appealing for the crowd, and they would walk back up the runway to just stand against the pink curtain until all of the models were done walking. There was no rule against any magic being used, which was evidenced by how a klutzy model with light blue hair accidentally made her Ice Magic create a layer of chilly glacial ice around her own hands, and Lucy frowned in displeasure from seeing that girl place her cold hands on her hips while trying to make her frosty flub seem intentional. As she walked back up the runway, the judges sighed in annoyance.
Minerva turned around to face Lucy for a moment to give her a confident smile, believing that her performance on the runway would be superior to all the others, and the powerful woman from Sabertooth turned back around to go out on the runway. Lucy slightly peeked through the curtain to see Minerva walking in an elegant manner while she didn't walk too fast or too slow, and the black-haired woman turned to her left and right sides while posing in a sultry way. Minerva even blew a kiss to the audience, and that air kiss combined with walking away and moving her rump in a gentle manner definitely made the crowd of fans be quite excited.
"All right, everyone! Let's see who's next! It's entry number 11, Hizuki Hanaya!" The announcer stated to the crowd with a pleased facial expression, as her eyes showed immense excitement while Minerva walked past her.
Lucy thought to herself as she closed her eyes for a moment, exhaling a deep breath while ignoring someone's presence behind her, "This is it. I'm going to do well on my first job as a Sabertooth mage, and this ring's new magic may come in handy."
As Lucy opened her eyes again and felt her heart start to beat with excitement, she stepped out on to the tan brown stage and tried to maintain a confident smile in front of the crowd. Lucy walked down the runway while her left hand gently stroked her green hair, and she walked in a strong manner as she attempted to fully display her confident side. Upon reaching the platform for posing, Lucy focused her magical power on the Heavenly Body Magic of the Starry Ring. Lucy activated the first spell while raising her right arm high in the air, which was Starry Astra, and she fired a pink star-shaped projectile upward.
Before that spell could detonate, Lucy concentrated her magical power on activating a defensive move that would hopefully be more powerful. She ended up unleashing Heavenly Blitz, which was a spell that fired five pink meteorites from Lucy's right hand, and Lucy watched them all head straight for her Starry Astra attack. The two spells collided while Lucy's right hand gently moved to the left for the Starry Astra attack to accidentally spin in the counterclockwise direction, and the collision surprisingly created a large pink burst of light that made Lucy be bathed in a pink glow. Pink glitter gently fell down to land on and around Lucy, prompting her cheeks to blush light pink at her cute performance, and she cutely spun around before ending it with blowing an air kiss like how Minerva had done.
The crowd of males and females excitedly cheered from seeing Lucy's performance, deeming it to be quite beautiful while some of the fans cheered about how she wore such a sexy dress, and the three judges merely smiled in a somewhat approving manner. The male judge who had red hair and somewhat resembled Natsu felt like this wasn't really a magic competition, but he did view it as a good way for Lucy to literally display her beauty in an interesting light. Lucy slowly walked back up the runway, feeling glad about her performance, and she briefly smiled at Minerva as she viewed this job to be quite fun.
Minerva simply joined the other models in clapping for Lucy while she would not be ecstatic over her new teammate's performance, and she perceived it to just be a situation where Lucy got lucky from how she tried to have control over her new spells. Minerva personally didn't see them to be quite powerful, since Lucy didn't exactly have any spells that involved chain detonation for their levels of magical power to ascend quite high, and she would be surprised if Lucy got the highest score. Minerva's eyes shifted to the emcee who went down to the judges' table for the purpose of receiving the results that they just put into a gold envelope, and she hoped to be the winner.
The female announcer told the crowd in a psyched up manner while having an excited facial expression, as she proceeded to quickly go up some stairs near the runway, "All right, everyone! Now that we have the results, let's dim the lights and-"
"Stop right there!" A feminine voice exclaimed in a stern manner while a certain disgraced designer walked out on to the runway.
The announcer asked curiously as she spoke into the mic, seeing a familiar person go out on to the runway in a golden dress that showed a fair amount of cleavage, "Am I now delusional from that light earlier, folks, or is that Sherry Yukisaki? What's she doing here, other than crashing this event's passion for fashion?"
Sherry's hair was now in an upwards ponytail that looked elegant while she walked in a refined manner, purposely moving slow to let her cleavage bounce for the male fans who could easily be excited, and she walked down the runway with an arrogant smile on her face. Even though her performance wouldn't be official for the judges to give it a score, Sherry surprised everyone in the room by shooting a death glare at the fashion designers who didn't view her to be at their level. She turned around for a moment to see the dress that Lucy wore, which was actually designed by Sherry, and the antagonist turned back around to start getting some payback.
Before any of the fashion designers could tell her to get off the stage or start booing her, Sherry fired a light yellow beam of energy up at the skylight. It almost hit the glass, before coming down in seven thin beams, and Sherry's attack struck some parts of the contest hall! It struck the carpet five times with enough force to create large craters, and the other two beams made explosions occur in the stands! Several people were knocked down by Sherry's attack while light yellow clouds of smoke appeared, but the antagonist didn't care.
She fired a large ball of yellow light from her mouth, before punching it towards the judges' table, and a large explosion occurred while its force made some of the models fall to the ground. Some of the audience members who didn't perceive this as part of the fashion show ran for their lives, not wanting to be killed, but even the fashion designers in the stands weren't safe from Sherry's wrath. She shot out a vortex of yellow light from her left hand, watching it strike the stands and create a light yellow blast that blinded everyone's eyes, but some of the fashion designers could be heard eliciting screams of pain.
That prompted Minerva and Lucy to take action at the first moments of the light fading away, and Minerva fired some rainbow-colored energy waves at Sherry. They had the properties of being hot to where Sherry would get burned, and Minerva watched them strike her opponent. Lucy added to that attack by firing a pink orb of heavenly energy from her left hand, watching it create a miniature pink blast after hitting Sherry, and Lucy had simply wanted to use a long-range attack. The Starry Ring was quite a weird item, but Lucy turned her attention to the pink smoke that faded away.
"Well, it seems as if a couple of mages are here to get in my way. You squirmed your way into something that isn't even your business." Sherry said aloud with a displeased facial expression while being bruised from those attacks.
Lucy responded with a serious look on her face, "It doesn't matter what your reasons are for trashing this place! You're hurting innocent people, and we'll take you down."
Minerva added while frowning, her eyes filled with distaste, "You know, it's sad when a disgrace of a fashion designer shows up again to be even more of a clown."
Those words made Sherry angrily clench her fists, before firing a light yellow beam of energy at Minerva, and the attack was stronger than before. Lucy used these precious seconds to hit Sherry with a pink orb again, creating another miniature blast, but that yellow beam of light soon diverged into seven beams of light that all hit Minerva simultaneously! Minerva soon felt herself get hit by a projectile, which was a small yellow light sphere that Sherry quickly fired from her right hand, but that attack did not explode. Minerva was caught in seven large blasts while the projectile went into her chest area, and she could feel her dress receiving some tears.
Sherry thought about how the judges referred to her dresses as tacky while their criticisms of her poor fashion sense made her desire for revenge increase, and she fired a spiraling vortex of yellow light at Lucy. That prompted the Sabertooth wizard to activate the Starry Constellation spell, and the wall of seven pink stars appeared in front of Lucy as a protective barrier. Upon being hit by Sherry's vortex, the barrier shined light pink while one of the stars turned into a pink aura that faded away. Sherry fired two powerful beams of light consecutively, making sure that they hit Lucy's barrier, and the light was immensely bright to where Lucy couldn't even see what was happening.
She could only hear her barrier cracking like glass, almost like the six remaining stars couldn't endure such powerful attacks, and Lucy tried her best to put magical power into her shield that could double as a devastating attack. Unfortunately, Lucy slightly opened her right eye to only see one star floating in midair while two large blasts occurred! Lucy kept her eyes closed, which allowed Sherry to run towards her, and Sherry punched Lucy in the face with her right fist! Lucy was sent sliding backwards, and Minerva was in pain while hoping to end this fight.
Minerva attempted to charge up an energy wave, only to not feel her magical power building up in her palms, and she watched her body be engulfed in a light yellow aura. The ball of light from earlier had burst within Minerva while Sherry accidentally filled that light with feelings of pleasure instead of intended pain, and Minerva fell to her knees. She watched Lucy get punched and kicked while feeling something warm be inside of her, and Minerva's cheeks began to blush light pink. Minerva's magical power was nullified, and the skylight reflected the light of the Thunder's Aura spell that Sherry hit Lucy with for her to be distracted by the light. That light reflected on to Minerva, increasing the pleasure that she felt, and the light inside of her started to become brighter and warmer.
"Damn it, why can't I move?" Minerva asked aloud as she began to look at Sherry with an irritated expression, wishing that she could punch Sherry right now.
Sherry explained calmly as she turned her attention to Minerva, smirking viciously, "That ball of light I hit you with... Well, it increases your sensations for a limited duration and boosts them with high amounts of light around. In fact, what your feeling shall grow with every passing second. Enjoy your bones cracking from the pain I hit you with."
Lucy responded for Minerva while keeping her eyes closed, boldly raising her right arm, "If all this light is causing issues, then I'll gladly take a shot in the dark!"
She silently asked the Starry Ring to lend her the power to precisely target Sherry, prompting the green-eyed girl to fire the five meteorites from her left hand, and Lucy moved her hand down to her side before shooting out another pink orb. Sherry scoffed with overconfidence, thinking that Lucy's attack would completely miss, but she soon noticed a pink aura surrounding her body while the pink orb seemed to go directly for her! The orb struck Sherry, creating another small pink blast, but the meteorites began to triple in size and power while the sunlight made their pink aura become brighter.
As Lucy opened her eyes and saw the meteorites head straight down from their high height to hit Sherry, Lucy and Minerva both came to realize that those pink orbs were probably part of chain detonation. That would explain why Lucy's spells seemed stronger than normal as the battle progressed, such as when the Starry Constellation spell didn't immediately explode, and Lucy just had to power up before battling. She watched the large meteorites come down upon Sherry to create five massive pink blasts of heavenly energy, hearing the antagonist scream in immense pain, and the ground shook quite harshly to where Lucy started to lose her balance.
She stumbled towards Minerva, before falling on top of her, and Lucy closed her eyes as she thought that they would end up falling off the runway. Minerva had been pushed close to the edge from Sherry's earlier blasts, but she could not feel herself falling on to the room's red carpet. She watched the pink clouds of smoke fade away to reveal that most of the runway was totally wrecked, pieces of it being broken down into rubble while Sherry was badly bruised and bleeding, but what made Minerva smile was how Sherry's dress was ripped up as she was probably in pain from being on sharp pieces of rubble that seemed to have made cuts on her arms and legs.
As Sherry's body weakly twitched while she could not even lift a finger, Minerva watched Lucy be on top of her with a worried facial expression. She wanted to rudely push the younger woman off of her, but seeing how they were both quite bruised right now while Lucy looked concerned made Minerva give her a small smile. Lucy wondered why Minerva continued to blush while her body seemed very warm, and Lucy herself blushed from how her hands were currently on Minerva's large breasts. Lucy gasped in shock at that while hoping that no one would call her a pervert, but she soon saw the emcee walk towards the duo with an irked expression about the damaged room. However, that expression soon became a small smile.
"Well, this fight is over. According to the results and your profiles, it looks like I can say that Minerva Orlando is the winner of the modeling portion and Hizuki Hanaya just won the fight against Sherry Yukisaki! Folks, we saw a model fight a fashion designer and triumph!" The announcer exclaimed happily while speaking into the microphone, before her right hand was pointing at Lucy and Minerva.
Minerva replied calmly as she got up with Lucy proceeding to be by her side, feeling Sherry's magic no longer nullify her strength, "Well, I'm pleased that a woman from Sabertooth won. Although, there was never any doubt about my beauty being the best."
Lucy told her teammate with a satisfied smile on her face, "Congratulations, Minerva. If I can't win, then at least I get to see you win."
The announcer quickly went through a slit of the curtain that was open on the right side, and that secondary area of the backstage rooms was where the trophy had been stored in a silver briefcase. The announcer's violet eyes twinkled with delight as she quickly came back with the briefcase, opening it up to show Minerva a golden trophy with two pink ribbons decorating it, and she would also give the girls their reward money for handling their job with ease. Minerva would be glad to have that trophy and the money, but she soon received a gentle hug from Lucy.
Lucy was simply happy for Minerva while also liking the fact that they completed their first job together as a team, and she smiled at her teammate. Lucy felt quite glad that she and Minerva worked together in a good way to try and keep Sherry from destroying the entire contest hall, but she hoped that their future jobs wouldn't have innocent people being wounded or dead.
