The Backgrounders Rock
While Bob Rollins was slaying it on the stage of the Zon, working his guitar like there was no tomorrow, Andrea Hebuca was supplying the vocals by singing one of her depressing poems.
On drums was Scarlett LeVey, having been inspired to play by her crush, the drummer for Backflash.
The three piece band was easily the best musical act that the Zon had ever seen.
Or at least that what Spike thought as he rocked out, dancing with a really hot chick named Kristen, while her dorky but cute friend Cindy was staring at Bob on stage in awe, having found a brand new crush to replace Trent in her eyes.
Dave, the kid in the Lawndale jersey and a red Mohawk was pounding brews with a gal named Jackie Wentworth, who was planning to give him (and five other guys on her list) the time of their lives tonight.
And while these and many other people had the time of their lives, what were OH and Jane Lane doing you might ask?
They were at Jane's house, watching TV and Daria was angst-ing about something while Jane was making a portrait of a zombie attack on Lawndale High.
Of the two, at least Jane was contributing something to society.
As for Daria... Apparently her problems were so important that everyone else in the world except for Jane, her immediate family, (some of) the faculty of LHS, and a few one-off encounters didn't seem real to her.
They just seemed like voiceless, mindless drones.
But to them... It was Daria that was the mindless drone, unfortunately she did make rude, sarcastic remarks and NOTHING ELSE!
So to them... It was her that was in the background.
And it would stay that way all through High School.
