Anna's eyes fluttered open to her dark room. She turned over and saw Hans clothed and out of bed.
She rubbed her eyes and yawned. Hans kissed her forehead. "Go back to sleep my love." He whispered
"Where are you going?" Anna asked softly, stretching a bit. Hans ignored her, and grabbed his keys.
"Don't go.." Anna reached for his arm but he pulled it away before she could grab it. "Anna. I told you I would have to leave. You know how busy I am."Hans started out of the room.
"Please..."
He looked back at her, sighed, and continued out. Anna heard her front door lock, and let the tears drip down her cheeks. She gripped her pillow, and sobbed while entangled in the sheets.
I stared at the ceiling above his cubical. I was pretty stupid for acting like that in the breakroom to Anna.
I just didn't like the sight of that prick grabbing her waist and kissin-No. I don't care. Why the hell would any of that matter to me? Its fine. I just, was in a bad mood, and she kept pushing it.
Now I was mostly just stressed about the fact she didn't answer any of my texts or calls. I probably really screwed everything up just because I was-
No no no, I don't care. Anna just needs her space. We're fine-
I heard the lobby door swing open, and there she was. She was a little late, which was, new to say the least. I got up from my rolling chair and walked over to her.
"Hey, An-" She looked up at me, and wow. Uh-
Her hair was slightly messy and her eyes were swollen.
No. She's fine. She just had a rough night.
"Uh. Um, Hi." I said thoroughly this time.
Anna walked right past me and to her desk.
Yeah okay, maybe I deserve that.
I followed her and whispered this time. "Hey, I'm sorry, I tried to talk to you last night but you didn't-"
She looked away, but I caught a glimpse of one of her watery eyes.
Fuck. What the hell have I done?
"Anna, hey, I'm really really sorry. I know. I'm a big idiot."
She wiped her face and didn't glance at him. "And?"
Kristoff rolled his eyes. "And I'm pretty much a prick." I laughed at a little, and she joined me.
"Apology accepted, Christopher." Anna said, as she looked at me with a small smile. I hate to say that I've kinda missed it.
"We're back to that are we?"
"That's all on you."
I brushed my hair back with my fingers. "Hey before we get yelled at for not doing our work, I wanted to invite you to my family's dinner tonight. Bulda is gonna have my head on a platter if you don't show up."
Anna's eyes lit up.
"I'll pick you up at eight, if you send me your address. I'll make it up to you."
She tilted her head slightly and gave a crooked grin. "Okay... but you're gonna have to tell me why you were acting so weird."
Oh no.What am I supposed to say? I guess I was in a bad mood and she caught me at a wrong time? That had to be it.
"Psh. I'll tell you after dinner then?" I shrugged and walked back to my desk. She's always so pushy, it's kind of cute, in an annoying way.
As Anna entered her apartment, she saw a big bouquet of roses resting on her table. She opened the card the flowers came with.
Last night was amazing my love. I lov-
Anna crumpled it, since the roses were too pretty to crumple. She hated him for leaving last night. She felt so vulnerable, and open with him, and he acted almost as if it didn't matter him. Anna looked at herself in the mirror. Could anyone tell that- something changed? She touched her face as she examined her reflection, and noticed the light bruises that decorated her lower neck from last night. Anna would definitely have to cover it up again with concealer.
As she dressed herself in a yellow sundress, she wondered what Hans would think if he knew she had a work friend. Hans had work friends, many of which were women, and Anna didn't mind too much.
To kill time, and because she hadn't gotten around to it, Anna picked up her sister's book entitled "Frozen Heart."She scanned the signature placed on the inner cover, and read. Anna was heavily drawn into the story of the two princess, and in all honesty could not put it down. She lied on her stomach and read as she swung her legs back and forth. Anna could have never been able to stop, if it wasn't for an interrupting phone alert.
Kristoff: I'm in front of your apartment
Shoot! I have to go!
Anna left the book on her bed and scooted towards the door as she rushed to get her shoes on.
