If only you were there

A poem for the tree Thalia. I had a mood, and I had to write it down. This is my first poem, so guidance and constructive criticism would be welcome. Also, this is more for me then for anybody else.

For Thalia

If only you were there,

In times of anger and bloodshed,

When all was lost,

But hope was found,

And we knew what we were waiting for.

If only you were there,

When you and I were young,

As I was thinking,

And dreaming and hoping,

For someone new to find.

If only you were there,

One of a kind,

My life would be so much different,

And enough would be said.

If only you were there,

Through angst and dreams that disappeared,

Realizing that not all that was lost,

Would be gone forever,

But I just had to hope.

If only you were there,

Though thick and thin,

Hard times and easy ones,

Standing there with me.

If only you were there,

Holding on,

Letting go,

Thinking hard,

For one choice or another.

If only I was there,

Ready,

Waiting,

Dreaming,

Hoping,

For you and others too.
