After talking to the rest of them in the morning about his plans to find a Vulpix, Lana wanted to come with. Hala was quick to give warning. "The mountains can be a dangerous place. If you hear a thunderous sound It will either cause an avalanche or be from one, take shelter against a rockface and if lost either stay where you are or head down the mountain. This area is Patrolled by Ace trainers so many wild Pokémon will not bother you and may even be friendly. Ask for some flares at the counter so you can signal if you are in trouble and above all return before dark."
Professor Oak was often seen as almost uncaring about send Ash to a potentially dangerous area so Drag was reassured at Hala's concern. "I plan on heading towards the mountain a bit if It is getting dark and or we get lost I'll use the flare." A quick stop to put flare in his bag and they were off.
Searching for a white Pokémon in a snow cover forest. Drag did not plan this out as well as he could have, eventually he released Grace and had her help listen for signs. Naturally the silence began to drag on poor Lana. Stopping near a cliff face for a lunch break Drag decided to break the silence for a bit.
"Lana what do you plan to do when you finish school. I am about to start my travels and I want to see some of the wonders this world has to offer. I actually managed to get a video camera so I'll try to record some of it if you want me to show you when I come to Alola again." Lana seemed surprised he was talking now but she was still somewhat grateful. As a avid fisher she knew how silence can be important so while she understood that didn't mean she was happy about it.
Lana blushed a bit as she told Drag about her wish to explore the ocean depths in search of new undiscovered or rare Pokémon. After a while she grew silent not sure what to talk about, so she decided to ask "Drag, do you have any hobbies?" this embarrassed him a bit but decided that he was bound to have an audience occasionally so he might as well start now.
Standing up Drag reached into his bag and took out a recording he made earlier. Next, he releases Joy as well "Go Joy, okay you two I know you were interested in what I was doing earlier so hear is your answer. No questions till the end." Clear his voice he began to sing.

As they continued to listen to Drag sing a several Pokémon decided to stop and listen. By the time he finished the was several wild Pokémon dancing around with his Eevee's as Lana was blushing nearby drawing circles in the snow. One of the observers was a Vulpix, noticing this drag decided to ask "Hello, my friend and I were looking for a Vulpix like yourself to join my team. Would you like to join." The Vulpix in question loved his singing and started bouncing in happiness. Taking out a premier ball he offered it toward Vulpix with a ding Vulpix was caught.
Releasing Vulpix Drag noticed the tail seemed a bit long this was usually a good indicator of it be female. "Alright I think you should be called Luna what do you think girl?" Luna gave a quick "Vul!" in agreement. "Alright Grace I think it's time you evolved. now Luna I will wait a bit to see what you can do before we talk about your evolution so don't be discouraged." Drag got out his camera and began recording. "Hello this is trainer Drag with my Eevee Grace. Today grace is going to evolve into a Glaceon. We are in a snowy area with natural Ice energy now I am going to hand Grace an Ice stone and let her do the rest."
Lana was surprised as she didn't know of a surefire way to evolve an Eevee to a Glaceon yet here drag is saying he will do just that. As Grace caught the Ice stone, she began to glow a bright white light. As the light began to dim the new Glaceon began to strut striking various poses. As Drag put away the camera Lana couldn't help but begin blushing again as she wonders what else he could do.
Returning everyone to their pokeballs they began to head back it was still close to noon so they would make it before dark. It wasn't long before they saw a cave nearby, Drag curious wanted to explore and Lana just agreed. As Drag neared the entrance a shard of Ice speed towards Lana. Drag didn't have much time so he activated Agility and dove on top of Lana. Grabbing a Pokeball as he was hit in the shoulder "Joy, Time for battle!" as Joy appeared in a red light a Froslass with a purple ribbon exited the cave.
"Joy quick Bite," it was one of the few combo's Drag trained. Using quick attack to boost speed and get close they would then switch to a physical move to increase the damage.
Froslass tried to use astonish making a loud shriek noise but ghost moves don't affect normal types
"Hurry bite it again" Drag grab his shoulder in pain as he palmed a great ball. Froslass fell to the ground as Drag threw the great ball with a grunt of pain, it shook twice before it dinged. Lana got up and checked Drags shoulder and gasped when she saw blood. Before she could say anything the mountain began to roar. Drag grabbed Lana and Joy racing into the cave. Not long after they entered snow began to pour pass the entrance in an avalanche.
As the sound began to die down it was clear the entrance had been covered in snow. The Cave was dark, cold, and the floor dry. Drag managed to get out a lantern before Lana began to sob. Joy noticing his wound was frightened ears laying limply on her head. Drag grasped Lana shoulder and shook her gently and in a soft voice "This is not the time to cry. We are alive and I have my bag once we bind my shoulder, we can put up my tent and use my sleeping bag if we can't dig through the entrance today." Lana nodded as she began to look through his bag. Drag turned to Joy and saw here fear" Joy are you okay? I'm sorry this has to be our first battle but I'm glad your safe."
POV Joy
Master is bleeding I don't know what went wrong. He called on me went that ghost attacked. Why? My sister just evolved she should be stronger why does he depend on me. Even hurt he comforts that girl Lana, he saved us from the snow with a hurt shoulder, he save my sister and I from starving. We had just fled from those people in black that took our parent when we went in the drain. Running and hiding we got lost. Our smell didn't help and the other we saw never helped, but master stopped he fed us, bathed us, gave us a home. Why? "Joy, are you okay? I'm sorry this has to be you first battle, but I'm glad your safe." No! I don't want to be safe if you're not.
"For Glaceon an Ice stone in a snow region will allow you to evolve. Espeon is intense emotions usually about one's trainer at midday. If it is an unhappy emotion it can cause you to rampage so I want you to consider what you focus on. We can work on moves tomorrow to help you prepare."
Emotion can make me evolve. Master said that physic types can move things with the minds travel with their thoughts speak to those that cannot understand. Rage, sorrow, pain will not help me save master. I can't stay sad I have to be strong, strong enough to protect those I care for, to save those I love I will be their JOY.
