Author's note: 33/60. If you want to know the reason for my irregular updating despite already having an outline of each of the remaining chapters, head over to my profile. In case some things do not make sense, like a sentence being cut in half, pm me as there was a glitch that deleted the note the first time; I fixed it but I do not know if it will happen again.

Monster Under My Bed
Sherlock must have been five when it happened; the little boy might be a genius but even so, he was still only five and as such, still scared of the monsters that hide in the darkness.
Sherlock could only huddle under his covers as he heard a noise that he perceived was coming from under his bed.
"Mycroft!" he shouted and hurried footsteps could be heard approaching the room. A fourteen year old teen burst into the room, looking hurried.
"What is wrong Sherlock?" the teen asked, concern written all over his face as he looked at the obviously scared child.
"I think there is a monster under my bed." Sherlock whimpered. "Can you check for me, please?"
Mycroft internally melted at how adorable Sherlock looked with his eyes wide open and his curly hair falling over his eyes and framing his face.
"Of course." He replied and went towards the bed, knelt on the floor and looked under the bed. "There is no monster down here Sherlock, only a lonely sock and the pair of sneakers mother bought you last year."
Sherlock sighed in relief but there was still a hint of fear visible in his eyes. "Mycroft?" Sherlock hesitantly asked.
"Yes Sherlock?"
"Can I sleep with you tonight?"
Mycroft once more melted at just how adorable his little brother looked. "Of course. Come on, let's go to my room; monsters avoid anyone older than 10 after all, so it will be safe."
Sherlock carefully got off his bed. "Ok, Mycroft!" he cheerfully said and led the way out of the room.
"Just a moment Sherlock, we don't want any monster to enter your room, do we?" Sherlock shook his head and watched as his brother locked the room from the outside, knowing that with his windows having safety bars on –his mother did not want him to accidentally fall and hurt himself after all, she would remove them as soon as he was eight- there was now no way for a monster to enter his room.
Sherlock cheerfully led the way to his brother's room which was just a few doors away, humming a little song at the same time which meant that the child did not hear what Mycroft whispered into his watch.
"Security, there is a man in Sherlock's room, hidden under the bed. I have knocked him out with the tranquilizer dart; please go extract him and find out how he got inside without anyone noticing."
With the security confirming just a few seconds after his report, Mycroft followed his brother into his room, knowing that this time there really was a monster under his brother's bed.
