Cancer
Greg stared blankly at the doctor as he delivered the news. Advanced cancer… surgery… he caught a few words here and there but he could not focus.
He had liver cancer. How was he going to tell Sherlock?
Greg thanked the doctor mechanically and left, his mind still whirling with the news he got. As he arrived at Baker Street, Greg took a deep breath and thought to himself: 'This is not the end of the world. I could still survive this… nothing is over yet.'
Entering the apartment, Greg smiled as he watched his lover play the violin. It always calmed him down to see Sherlock lose himself in his music.
"Greg" Sherlock breathed and put his violin back in its case. "You're home." Sherlock moved towards Greg and wrapped his arms around him, kissing him softly in greeting.
"What's wrong?" Sherlock asked, extremely aware that his boyfriend was worried about something.
"Sherlock, I have something to tell you. I… I have cancer." Greg managed to tell him after a few deep breaths.
Sherlock's eyes widened, and then narrowed. Untangling himself from Greg, he took his cellphone out of his pocket, Greg watching him frowning.
"Mycroft. Call doctor Eliza immediately and make an appointment for Greg to see her this afternoon." Sherlock said as soon as his brother answered, hanging up immediately after.
"It'll be okay Greg. Doctor Eliza is an oncologist and she happens to be a genius in her field. She'll save you."
Greg choked, the tears that were filling his eyes since earlier finally falling.
"Thank you, my love, thank you." Greg whispered as he fell to his knees, Sherlock following him down. Sherlock kissed Greg's forehead and held him close to him as Greg finally broke down.
Everything would be okay.
