Emergency Room
Sherlock stared at his arms, which were soaked with blood. He still didn't know what actually happened.
He had visited John's house and found his friend's wife on the floor unconscious with a pool of blood around her head.
He couldn't even notify John because the man had his phone shut down.
"Mary Watson?" The doctor asked and Sherlock stood up.
"Are you a relative?" The doctor asked and Sherlock shook his head. "I'm in her emergency contacts though." Sherlock said and the doctor nodded, relieved.
"Mrs. Watson had a nasty head injury, but we have patched it up. She is currently on pain killers and medicinally induced coma, she will wake up in ten minutes though, if you would like to see her."
Sherlock nodded and the doctor notified a nurse to lead him to Mary's room.
"Mary." Sherlock breathed as he saw that she was already awake.
"Sherlock, I am so glad you found me." Mary said smiling.
"What happened?" Sherlock demanded. "I slipped while going to the living room and hit my head, nothing more, no one to blame but me."
Sherlock nodded and sat on the chair, silently keeping her company until John arrived.
Mary didn't know that this would be the only reason Sherlock needed to never let her be by herself again.
