Three weeks. Three weeks since I've seen him and the new brat , Bakugo thought while slouching on his couch. He scrolled through Eijirou and Mina Kirishima's social media that showcased the addition to the family, little Takeshi Kirishima. The little boy wrapped in Mina'a arms in the hospital photo had his father's skin and natural hair color. Can I do this?
"I see you finally picked something to wear," a feminine voice said. Bakugo glanced up to his girlfriend in her hero costume with a smug look on her face. He was wearing dark jeans and an orange t-shirt with a leather jacket.
"Laugh all you want, Cam, but I didn't know what to wear to meet a baby. I've never done it before!" he exclaimed.
Camie Utsushimi laughed and sat down next to him. "Oh Katsukitty, I think it's cute that you want to make a good impression. You know you technically met him in the hospital."
"That was different. It was like a little lump on Mina's chest. Now, it moves."
Camie began to massage the back of his head. "You should also probably stop saying it before you go."
"Damn it, you're right. I wish you were coming."
She let out a dramatic sigh. "Same! I hate that I have to go to work. I've been dying to meet the little cutie. Promise that we'll go see them this weekend?"
Bakugo kissed her forehead. "I promise," he said as his phone vibrated.
Pikachu: We're here!
"Time to go." He stood up as Camie groaned. "You need to get your ass to work." He held his hand out and pulled her up from the coach.
They walked out of their apartment together as Kaminari honked his horn, and Sero waved hysterically. Bakugo glared at the two idiots as his girlfriend squeezed his hand. "Have fun," she said. He kissed her and muttered a sarcastic thanks. Laughing, she began to walk to her agency.
Bakugo climbed into the backseat of the car as Kaminari said, "Ready to meet little Takeshi?"
"If we make it there with your shit driving," Bakugo replied.
Sero laughed as Kaminari pulled off the side of the road with a pout on his face. Kaminari was wearing black skinny jeans with a dark purple sweatshirt with "Earphone Jack" written on the front. Sero, with his hair cut short with long waves on the top, wore jeans and a black t-shirt. The taping hero then pulled out a phone with a Pikachu design on the back from the middle console and held it up to Kaminari.
"What's up, you guys? We are about to meet the new member of the Red Riot and Pinky family," Kaminari said as he drove.
"Are you serious?" Bakugo said.
Sero turned the camera on him. "Kaminari is still trying to start his social media influencer career," he muttered.
"Also," Kaminari added, "it will be good for the baby when he is older. He'll be able to look back on these days and so will we." Kaminari looked at Bakugo through his mirror. "Plus, Kyoka is working, and I know Camie will appreciate it too."
Sighing, Bakugo leaned back and folded his arms while Kaminari remincied the days of Mina's pregnancy, and how they found out about the baby. He droned on and on until they reached the Kirishima's apartment parking lot. Thank God.
The trio were buzzed into the building and went up the elevator. "This is it, guys! Our new little nephew," Sero said as they knocked on the door.
Eijirou Kirishima opened the door. "Hi guys!" he exclaimed. He donned black sweatpants and a plain grey t-shirt with a white sweatband around his red hair.
"A bearded Kirishima emerges," Kaminari said as Kirishima hugged him and Sero.
Bakugo walked up to the new dad and scratched the new facial hair. "Look at this dad beard," he said.
"Got to look the part, right?" He took a step back. "Are you guys ready to officially meet Takeshi?"
"Yes!" Kaminari said as he pulled out his phone while Sero bounced up and down.
They walked into the apartment where Mina stood in the kitchen wearing a purple floor-length dress with a baby wrapped in her arms. Takeshi wore a light blue striped onesie. When she glanced up, a huge smile grew on her face. "It's my boys!" she said.
Sero and Kaminari held each other's hands while Bakugo stood closer to the door. Eijirou walked up to Mina, kissed her head and began to walk towards them. "Meet Takeshi," he said.
"Wait, you're just going to bring it?" Kaminari said.
The new parents laughed as they brought the baby boy closer to the pair. Kaminari turned and pulled Bakugo closer to them. "He's so precious," Sero said as he traced his finger along Takeshi's tiny arm. "He's so soft!"
Bakugo peered over Kaminari's shoulder and just stared at the new human. "He's so small," he whispered.
Eijiro glanced up and smiled. "Yeah, he's very tiny," he said. He then looked at Sero. "Let Hanta hold him."
Tears glistened in Sero's eyes as Mina handed over the baby to him. "Oh my god, he's so precious."
"Your elbows probably give him more room for his head," Mina giggled.
"I'm practically built to have a baby, I guess," Sero said. His face then dropped as he turned to Kaminari. "Edit that out. I don't need Tokage knowing that."
Eijiro laughed and said, "C'mon, let's go to the living room where Denki and Katsuki can hold him."
Bakugo groaned as Mina pulled him towards the living room with the rest of the boys following them. "You are going to be fine," Mina whispered to him. "We trust you."
The group sat on the wrap around couch with Sero still holding Takeshi. "What have you guys done with him?" he asked.
"Besides the constant feeding and sleeping, we mainly read to him or just talk to him. He also likes Kyoka's music," Mina said.
Kaminari turned the phone to selfie mood. "You hear that, babe? You have a new audience."
The group laughed as Sero placed the baby on his lap. "God, look at his tiny feet. I can't believe we were all like this at one point," he said.
"Trust me, it didn't feel like that when he popped out of me," Mina muttered.
"Hehe, Kaminari, it's your turn to hold him," Sero said. He handed Takeshi to Eijiro while Kaminari handed the phone to Bakugo.
Kaminari switched places with Sero and held out his arms. "How do I hold a baby?" he asked.
"Are you kidding me?" Bakugo asked.
"I've never done it before!"
Mina held her hands out. "Just make sure you are supporting his butt and head. It's that simple," she said.
Eijiro passed Takeshi to Kaminari, who awkwardly held the newborn. "Now remember, he's only three weeks old," Eijiro said.
"My goal is not to drop him," Kaminari added as Takeshi moved his arms and legs around.
"You are so bad at holding him," Sero laughed.
"I know it's bad!"
"You can also place him on your lap. Put his legs against your stomach and let him rest his head on your knees," Mina said. She helped him adjust to the new position as Kaminari let out a sigh.
"This is better," he said. Then he felt a little gush of air land on his stomach as he played with Takeshi's feet. A laugh erupted from him. "I felt a little toot!"
Takeshi's little face began to scrunch up. "I think he's trying to poop," Mina said as she tried to not laugh as the three other guys bursted out.
"I'm honored," Kaminari said. "He's comfortable enough to let it all out on me. Let's remember that for later in your life."
"Do you guys want to check out the nursery? We can also change his diaper there," Mina asked.
"Let's go!" Sero said as Kaminari handed the baby to the new mom.
Takeshi's nursery was painted with a lime green color with white furniture such as his crib, a rocking chair and a changing station. As Mina began to change his diaper, Kaminari and Sero began to explore the baby's toys. "You got him a little me!" Kaminari said as he held up a Pikachu plush.
"Yes, that's what I thought of when I bought it," Eijiro said.
Sero placed little sunglasses on his face. "He's got some dope stuff," he said.
"Let's not break them idiots," Bakugo muttered as he snatched the glasses from Sero's face.
"Being a baby is great. All he has to do is eat, sleep and shit," Kaminari said.
"You don't say 'shit' in front of the baby," Sero scolded.
"Eijiro, what shouldn't we say around the little brat?" Bakugo asked.
Eijiro and the boys leaned into a little group huddle. "Oh you know, shit, fuck, dick, goddamn, to name a few," he whispered.
The group chuckled. "Noted," Kaminari said.
"If you boys are done acting like children, it's Bakugo's turn to hold Takeshi," Mina said with Takeshi laying in her arms.
"Or we could call it a day," Bakugo said as he began to sweat. "I can do it with Camie this weekend or something."
Eijiro clapped his friend's shoulder. "If you don't want to do it, I can hold him and you can just observe him or whatever," he reassured.
Bakugo looked at the pleading puppy dog eyes from his best friend. Sighing, he said, "Okay, let's do that." He gave the phone to Kaminari to film.
The rest of the Bakusquad cheered as they gathered into the living room. Mina handed Takeshi to Eijiro as they sat down. He held him up to Bakugo as the explosion hero quietly studied him. He noticed that the baby's skin had a light pink hue when you got up close. Slowly, Bakugo traced the outline of Takeshi's left arm and noticed how soft he was. When he got to the baby's hand, Takeshi gently latched onto Bakugo's index finger. "Oh my God," he said while sharply inhaling a breath.
"He's holding your finger!" Eijiro exclaimed. "See, you had nothing to worry about."
"Sero, you better get a picture of this," Mina added.
As Sero got his phone out, a grin formed on Bakugo's face. "Hi Takeshi," he whispered. After the photo was taken, he glanced up to the new parents. "I think I want to hold him."
Mina clapped and jumped in her seat. "Yes, yes!" she said.
Eijiro handed his son to Bakugo as the rest of the group silently watched. As soon as he was comfortably in his uncle's arm, Takeshi opened his eyes to reveal his yellow sclera eyes. "He has your eyes, Mina!" Kaminari said.
"I'm glad he got something from me!" she replied.
Eijiro watched Bakugo holding his newborn. "How do you feel?" he asked.
Without taking his eyes off the baby, he said, "If anyone tries to hurt him, I'll murder them."
Mina nodded with approval. "That sounds about right," she said.
Takeshi then began to struggle against Bakugo's arms. "Ah, what is he doing?" Sero asked, alarmed.
Eijiro glanced at his phone. "Oh, it's getting close to lunch. He gets fussy if he doesn't eat on time," he said as Mina gathered her son from Bakugo.
"Before you guys go, you have to kiss the top of his head. It's like kissing a peach," Mina giggled.
Sero stood up and did what she suggested. He sighed happily and said, "He has the softest little hair."
"I guess I want to give him a kiss," Kaminari said as he handed the phone to Bakugo. He kissed the top of the baby's head and smiled. "It is like a little peach!"
"It's the softest thing," Sero added with his hand over his heart.
The group turned to Bakugo. "Katsuki, do you want to?" Eijiro asked.
"No, no, I have to film for Kaminari's stupid video," Bakugo said.
Eijiro took the phone from him. "I got it, I got it. Just give him a little kiss."
Bakugo stood next to Mina and Takeshi. "Should I wash my lips?" he asked.
"No it's fine," Mina said.
"It's not an open mouth kiss," Sero added.
Bakugo leaned in and out a couple times before giving a little peck on top of Takeshi's head. "You did it!" Mina said as a large smile grew on Eijiro's face.
"It was like a peach," Bakugo said as he grinned.
It was time for Takeshi to eat, so the boys hugged the new parents while minding the baby in his mother's arms. As the boys left, Sero and Kaminari couldn't stop talking about how cute Takeshi was and how the best part of the day was Bakugo holding him. "I can't wait to edit this when I get home," Kaminari said, holding up his phone.
Bakugo rolled his eyes as he heard a text notification. He glanced at his phone to see his girlfriend asking him how it was going.
Bakugo: It went fine. I'm coming home now. He held my finger and I ended up holding him.
Camie: OMG! Pictures?
Bakugo: I'll ask Sero to send me it. Pikachu took a video of the whole ordeal.
Camie: Yes! Can always count on the wannabe vlogger.
Bakugo: Right...see you when you get home. Love you.
Camie: Love you more!
The boys got into Kaminari's car as Bakugo began to think about what it would be like as a dad. He knew Eijiro and Mina were going to be good parents, but what about him? He knew Camie was the one, but marriage and parenting was a huge deal. It's been seven years since they graduated high school, but he wasn't done being a pro hero. He knew Camie wasn't either.
His mind flashed back to Takeshi's tiny fingers grasping on Bakugo's large, coarse index finger. A sense of warmth filled his chest. "I'm glad they have a practice baby for me and Kyoka to watch," he heard Kaminari say.
"Yeah, that was the most lifelike doll baby I ever held," Sero said jokingly.
A practice baby. Despite it coming from Jamming Whey's mouth, that didn't sound too bad.
Practice makes perfect, right?
