The Uchiha family was spending an afternoon at home. For once, Sasuke wasn't off on a mission and took the day off from training Boruto to stay home and spend time with his family. He was feeling guilty for leaving the two girls he loved more than anything so much. As she sat on the couch with her husband's arm around her, Sakura was trying to find some things for them to do as a family.
"Oh, that new ice cream parlor just opened." Sakura said as she was looking through the newspaper. "It says here that it has Japanese and American style ice cream."
"That would be great! I hope they have Matcha flavor!" Sarada said excited from across the room where she was sitting at the dinner table reading.
"They probably do then." Sasuke said.
"I heard they have Sakura flavored." Sakura joked lightly elbowing her husband in the side. "Mochi for me. Let's go!" The Uchiha family left their house and started walking to the ice cream parlor. Sweets weren't Sasuke's favorite thing in the world, but he loved his family and obliged. He just wouldn't get anything. As long as he was with his family, he was happy.
"So, mom what's dad's favorite ice cream anyway?" Sarada asked her mom while they were walking in front of Sasuke. Sakura thought about it.
"Well, he doesn't like sweets. Never has. His favorite food is tomatoes, but that's not an ice cream flavor."
"You both like tomatoes? That explains you wanting to put tomato in miso." Sasuke continued to walk behind them and listen to their conversation. "Ugh, tomatoes are gross."
"Let me see. The only treat I ever remember him eating is rice balls." Sarada turned to her dad and started walking backwards.
"You don't like ice cream, do you?" she asked.
"Not particularly." Sasuke answered.
As Sarada was walking backwards talking to her father, Sasuke noticed someone coming up about to bump into her. He quickly moved between his daughter and the incoming village resident.
"Woah, Sasuke." The familiar voice said stopping in his tracks.
"Lord 7th?" Sarada said looking around Sasuke's cloak.
"Hey Sarada, Sakura and Sasuke. Out as a family for once. What's going on?"
"Hey, Naruto. We're going to the new ice cream parlor." Sakura said.
"You almost ran into my child." Sasuke said glaring at the Hokage.
"Sorry, Sarada. I wasn't looking."
"It's okay. I wasn't either. I was trying to find out what dad's favorite ice cream is." Naruto gave Sasuke a suspicious look.
"Sasuke's favorite ice cream? I never saw him even eat ice cream. Have you ever seen him eat ice cream, Sakura?" Sakura shook her head no. "I may have to tag along to find out."
"Weren't you in a hurry to go somewhere?" Sasuke asked annoyed.
"Not anywhere important. Hey, Shikamaru I'll be back in a bit. I'm going with the Uchiha family to get ice cream." Naruto said into his earpiece.
"Alright, enjoy. Wait, the entire Uchiha family? Sasuke included. I didn't know he liked ice cream." Shikamaru responded.
"Yeah, him too. I'm going to find out."
"Find out what?" Sakura asked.
"Sasuke's favorite ice cream flavor."
"You're treating this like it's some big mission." Sasuke said as they started walking again.
"It is a mission! I don't know what one of my best friend's favorite ice cream is."
"Sakura, don't answer this. What is my wife's favorite?" he asked.
"Uhhh… Sakura? Doesn't Sarada like Green Tea?"
"I asked about my wife, not my daughter." Sakura blushed hearing Sasuke use the phrase "my wife." After being married to Sasuke all this time, it still warmed her heart hearing him refer to her as his wife, especially in public.
"Those two haven't changed." Sakura thought.
"You aren't just asking me because you don't know, are you?" Naruto accused.
"I know what my wife wants. You clearly don't though. Which makes this "mission" worthless of "the hokage's" time."
"Dad, you're not supposed to talk to Lord 7th like that."
"It's okay, Sarada. Like I told you when we went to find him, he's always been rude." Sasuke glared at Naruto. "Come on, Sarada it's right up here!" Naruto said running off with the young Kunoichi. Sakura giggled.
"You know, Sarada adores you, right? She doesn't listen to those kinds of comments from Naruto." Sakura said lacing her fingers in with Sasuke's, who surprisingly wasn't wearing his glove. Sasuke smiled.
"If it isn't the Uchiha's on a romantic afternoon stroll." A voice said behind them.
"Hey Kakashi sensei." Sakura said stopping and turning to look at their former sensei. "We were just taking Sarada to the new ice cream parlor."
"Funny, I don't see your daughter." He smiled with his eyes. "What I do see is two Uchiha walking the village, hand-in-hand." Sasuke's face turned a light shade of red and he gripped Sakura's hand a little tighter.
"She ran off with Naruto. He wanted to come with us when he ran into us."
"Oh, well, if it's a Squad 7 outing, it wouldn't be complete without your favorite sensei." Kakashi said joining them as they walked into the parlor. Naruto and Sarada were already looking at different ice cream flavors. Sarada knew she wanted Matcha but was still trying to figure out Sasuke's favorite.
"Kakashi sensei! Perfect timing!" Naruto said.
"What's going on?"
"Sarada and I are trying to figure out what Sasuke's favorite ice cream flavor is."
"That's an easy one." Kakashi paused. Naruto and Sarada stared at Kakashi. "He doesn't like ice cream. Naruto, think about it. During our time as Squad 7 did you ever see Sasuke eat any sweets at all? The answer is no. Anytime they were offered to us he would, as politely as he could, decline, then usually eat a tomato. If there was a tomato flavor, then that would probably be his favorite flavor."
While the rest were distracted by Kakashi, Sakura and Sasuke were ordering. Sakura got mochi ice cream.
"Wait, you just said my dad doesn't like ice cream. If that's true, why is he eating it?" Sarada asked.
"Well, I guess even I can be wrong sometimes." The group walked up to the lady at the counter.
"Excuse me, ma'am. Can you tell me what flavor that man over there ordered? He's my dad."
"Oh, he got tutti fruity."
"I see. Matcha please."
"SERIOUSLY? TUTTI FRUITY? THAT'S SO LAME!" Naruto yelled as the parlor worker got Sarada her ice cream.
"Thank you." Sarada said taking her ice cream and joining her parents. Kakashi followed her.
"Well, if I had to guess, I wouldn't have picked that one. Maybe wasabi." Kakashi said. Sasuke looked away embarrassed and continued to eat his ice cream. Sakura winked at Sarada.
"You're telling me, this entire time, you did like ice cream? 15 years and I never knew." Naruto said.
"You may be the hokage, but you're still a loser."
