Hey everybird! What's up!?

Now we have come to the last chapter in this short story and well since this is the final chapter to this story, it is only fitting to talk a little about the final Clone Wars episode… (Well, at least for now that is)

I mean what can I really say about it… It was just the perfect ending to the show and well while it wasn't the ending I expected, I was not at all disappointed by it! It was very emotional and satisfying and I was a little teary as well, kinda of the same feeling I had while watching the big finale to MLP: FiM.

(Spoiler alert!)

Along my most favorite moments in the episode were of course Ashoka and Rex fighting alongside each other against a ton of Clones. Ashoka saying that she still believes the clones was good men and refuses to kill them unless absolutely necessary, that's why the Order 66 scene is always so heartbreaking to watch, the relationship the Jedi and clones share is touching and they really care for each other and saved each other multiple times, only for a simple order to ruin it all. And finally the end with Darth Vader… Oh boy… My heart just like stopped beating during those couple of minutes, because knowing we saw Anakin not too long ago in this final arc…

Anyway, that's all for now, don't want to keep this too long! Lets get on with the final chapter!

Chapter 11: Last Wish

(Blu's POV)

Arriving back at Yavin 4 with those who managed to escape, mostly the starfighters of the fleet, I did regain my strength, enough to focus on flying down to the base, landing my X-Wing on my landing spot. Once I turned off the engines, opening the cockpit, I climbed down the ladder brought over, not saying even a word to Jewel as I was still pretty upset she disobeyed a direct order from me. And. Didn't hear any beeping from her as she was taken out of the socket behind the cockpit while I walked towards the command center, needing to speak to a certain someone.

"Is Senator Mothma still here?" I asked the soldiers guarding one of the entrances to the command center.

"Yes sir, she's still in there." The soldier answered as I entered, seeing a flurry of activity as the battle at Scarif definitely was going to change things, however it was urgent I speak with the senator right away, the sooner I can get rid of my association with the Alliance, the better.

The senator was currently speaking with some other leaders and had my back turned to me, so I had to clear my throat first to catch her attention.

"Senator Mothma, may I speak with you privately for a few minutes." I requested as the senator turned to me and after a few seconds, realizing who I was, excused herself as those she was talking to left to do other things.

"Captain Blu, is it?" The senator asking as I nodded. "What can I do for you?"

"Senator, I would like to request my resignation, effective immediately please." I said, hopeful to get a "Very well", but I got the exact opposite.

"Your request is denied captain." The senator replied as she raised a wing as I opened my beak and was about to protest, but stopped. "Right now we can't afford to lose anyone and you have the experience necessary to help the Alliance survive, being at Scarif." The senator pointed out as she took a step closer to me and lowered her voice. "I heard your father perished and can understand why you want to leave, but tell me, how long will it be before you have the urge to fight again?"

The senator did make a very good argument, it wasn't likely that I would just give up forever, eventually I would want to do something.

"And you wouldn't want to ignore your father's last wish." The senator told me, which I was very confused by…

"What do you mean senator?" I asked, obviously having no knowledge of this at all.

"In the case of his death, your father only had one request, to make you the new commander of Blue Squadron." The senator told me. "However it is not my right to force you to accept the command, the decision is ultimately ours if you want it or not."

Now I was going to call it quits, but knowing this piece of information now, something my father has kept from me, which I understood why he would do such a thing, it changes everything. If I left, the guilt of not fulfilling my father's last wish would haunt me forever and I guess it was on me to carry on the legacy started by him. So I made my decision…

"It would be an honor to accept my new command senator." I sighed. "I do have my own request to make, I get to chose who my second is going to be."

"Very well, Commander Blu." The senator holding out a wing for me to shake as I took it. "Good luck and may the Force be with you." The senator telling me as after we broke the wingshake, she excused herself from me as with my new position, it was on me to rebuild the squadron from scratch, starting of course with my new second.

Going out again to the landing strips where the starfighters were parked, I caught sight of the only other survivor of Blue Squadron…

"Roberto." I said as he was checking over his own X-Wing as he turned around, clearly looking very frightened because of well he must have thought I would be angry at him.

"Before you say anything Blu, look I'm sorry I took charge and went against you, but I had to, if I didn't you would be gone and I would have lost a very good friend." Roberto told me as I let him speak.

And I'm glad you did, because I'm going to need that attitude more than ever." I said to Roberto, which turned his expression to a confused one.

"What do you mean?" Roberto asked.

"I was just informed of my father's last wish, to put me in charge of Blue Squadron ." I revealed. "And my first order as commander is to make you my second, now I'm not forcing you, but just know that I wouldn't accept or trust anyone else for the position."

"Me?" Roberto very much surprised as his face almost went pale. "A captain? You sure I'm up for it?"

"I do, it would be an honor to have you by my side." I smiled.

"Well, you're a fool, but I accept." Roberto joked as he put his wing in a salute to me. "Thank you Commander."

"You're welcome Captain, now get some rest, we're going to have a lot of work to do." I ordered as I saluted back.

As Roberto left, there was someone else I needed to talk to as I walked to my own X-Wing where I landed it, seeing Jewel checking for any damage to the starfighter as I came up behind her, the droid noticing as she turned around, but didn't say anything as she tilted her head down. Of course she must have thought I was going to yell at her, but it was quite the opposite as I got down to her level.

"Hey Jewel, I'm sorry I yelled at you before, you just did what you thought was right." I told her. "If you do not want to work with me anymore, that's fine, I accept your choice." I told her.

Jewel lifted her head back up and replied to my statements, saying that she'll be with me to the end.

"Thank you Jewel, I'm going to need you more than ever, you up for being top droid in Blue Squadron?" I asked, to which she gave a very determined "Yes". "Good, lets get started than."

Back to the present, many years later…

And here I was, after so many years of both conflict and peace, in service to the good cause, having fulfilled my father's last wish and done my part in helping to bring down the evils which threatened the galaxy. As my home world's star started to go down further in the horizon, with night approaching, I felt a little tired as I turned to Jewel, who was still there to keep me company of course.

"I'm glad you're still alive Jewel, I lost so many in my life, sometimes I do question if it was worth it to keep fighting, but it was." I smiled as the last rays of starlight were starting to fade as Jewel beeped back softly at me as I got up off my chair, stretching myself a little as my old and worn body was too relaxed from sitting. "Come on, lets get some sleep, we got another day tomorrow."

And so, with the star settling down, giving way to night, another day in the now peaceful galaxy ended as another would start tomorrow, days of pace that didn't seem to be even a dream so long ago…

And there we go!

Now I was considering whether or not to do the attack on the first Death Star and well the time between that event and when Blu is introduced in The Scarlet Rebel. But basically I think both Blu and Roberto wouldn't take part in the attack on the Death Star and would stay in the command center where Leia was. And of course they would be present during the award ceremony at the end of A New Hope.

Now during the time in between that and The Scarlet Rebel, I have read and even watched a video by EckhartsLadder that the Alliance actually stayed on Yavin 4 for some time, instead of evacuating right away. And even continued striking out at Imperial targets until the newest superweapon in the Imperial arsenal, the brand new Super Star Destroyer, the Executor, Vader's new flagship, was completed and was sent to destroy the Alliance at Yavin 4. Of course I did my own portrayal of that in The Scarlet Rebel.

So that should fill in that gap in between this story and The Scarlet Rebel, other than that, I do hope you did enjoy this short story and with that…
