Chapter 2:What's Random doing?

Sonny dropped Bella off at school and proceeded towards the Association.

Calling it the Association is rather obscure so allow me to elaborate.

The Association is short for the Welfare Association of Wisconsin. It is a non-governmental organization first created by Cassandra's mother. It aimed to help people in rehab and also acted as a fully functional hospital. The Association also supported several other causes. These weren't alien to the people who worked there. It was to fix mishaps that everyone faced in their everyday strove in short to make a difference.

It helped the homeless and provided employment opportunities and training workshops to plenty of young adults who had faced angst and were feeling downcast. Moreover it also aimed at suicide prevention and preached the wrongness of self-harm.

Sonny now headed the Association alongside Maria. Most of the funds were donated by Cassandra and several other millionaires. The residents of the neighborhood pitched in physically. Sonny managed most of the good works. Maria did the accounting while Shane took care of the legal stuff. Rodrick was the solid rock that kept her strong.

At present Sonny had taken on an intern called Greta Van Dyke. She was a pretty seventeen year old who needed the internship for her college application. She had turned out quite efficient and looked up to Sonny.

Sonny walked into her office. It had walls that were painted a pale teal. There was a beautiful rosewood desk in the center. It was one of the pieces from Cassandra's personal collection. (More on Cassandra later).She had kindly let Sonny have it.

There were some stunning prints on the walls as well. They featured a midnight forest scenery, a glorious sunset that read Sunset by Eddard Granger and finally a print of the Eiffel tower from a single by E. Granger and J of Jonas.

Sonny dropped her pale pink bag to match her striking highlights on a white couch at the entrance of the room. She settled in her chair to prepare for the meeting.

[I'll spare you the meeting. It was obviously long and tedious]

In LA

Tawni Hart was jamming out to the latest E. Granger hit single: Remember me in her suite as she brainstormed ideas for a new episode of the comedy show she was co-writing and co-starring with Nico and Grady. She had met with considerable success and had even starred in a movie with Zac Efron. She was now completely preoccupied by her new show.

She looked as pretty as ever. She still sorely missed So Random especially Sonny. She met Sonny twice each month regularly: once when Sonny flew for a monthly weekend to L.A and once when she, Nico, Grady and Zora visited Sonny's place. Apart from this there were surprise visits.

Tawni was extremely touched when Sonny named her daughter after her. (It's Isabella Tawni Cooper).Tawni enjoyed the times she spent with her god daughter a lot. She wished she could see more of her but Sonny was stubborn that Bella was to stay in Wisconsin till she was at least twelve.

Tawni heard a knock on her door. "Come in" she called out. Zora swept in like a hurricane. She had grown into quite a beautiful woman. Her hair was incredibly straight and brown. She was dressed lazily in black jeans and an orange sweatshirt. "I desperately need your help" she said. "What is it this time "asked Tawni.

"Well you know that wildlife show I was doing"

"You mean that show with snakes and stuff, ugh"

"I got renewed for a second season!"

"Congratulations. Why do you need my help again?"

"We're having a sort of celebratory party and…."

"And what?"

"Well I promised the guys and Sapphire that I would get Nick of Jonas to sing with them"

"You did what?"

"That idiot Seb was bragging about how he had a small role in …."She trailed off.

"Don't mumble. "reprimanded Tawni.

"Fine. He was going on and on about how he knew that lunatic Mackenzie"

"You mean Chad"

Zora shushed her "Don't say it."

"Right I won't" said Tawni grimly.

"Sapphire loves Nick and she's Seb's girlfriend and I thought I could get one over him by getting Nick."

"Let's see what we can do. I guess I could call Nick" Said Tawni.

"On thank you. I would do it myself but I just feel awkward."

Somehow the mention of Chad had got Tawni riled up and she was willing to do anything to embarrass this idiot who liked him.

Tawni picked up her phone which had a gorgeous pink and gold case. She scrolled through her contacts till she reached the Ns.

Dialing Nick of Jonas she waited with the phone held against her ear.

"Hey Tawni" came Nick's voice." Hey Nick I kinda need a favor. Well Zora does" said Tawni.

"Sure thing"

A voice hovered in the background "Nick is that Tawni. Is Sonny with her?"

"Hey Joe" said Tawni wearily. "No Sonny isn't with me and I need to speak to Nick"

"Okay "said Joe slightly put off.

"Excuse my brother" said Nick sincerely.

"He's still a bit hung up on the break up, eh?" asked Tawni.

"Yeah. He should stop though. I mean it's been a month and they did agree to hang out like friends. Then even spent time together in the studio."

Who is Joe hung up over? Why don't you guess? (Revealed in upcoming chapters)

"Ok, here's what I want. You know Zora's show right, the one with all those snakes"

"Come on I love it. Riots with reptiles is awesome."

"That's what it was called wasn't it. Well one of Zora's costars was gushing about knowing Cooper and she kind of took leave of her senses"

"You don't mean Chad do you "asked Nick horrified.

"Yes I do mean him. So Zora promised her cast that she would bring Nick of Jonas over to their party. Also one of the girls there loves you and may expect a song."

"That's great. I mean I would love to meet the cast and hang out."

"Thank you. That's a weight off my shoulders."

"Hey anytime. By the way what's the party for?"

"Oh, they got renewed for a second season. Can you even believe that a show about slimy creatures could be so popular?"

"Oh my gosh! I have to tell the guys. Tell Zora that she's getting all three parts of Jonas."

"And now I know why it's popular. "Said Tawni."Bye Nick"

"Bye Tawni"

"So how did it go?" asked Zora anxiously.

"You asked for a Jonas, you're getting the Jonai "said Tawni with a smile.

"Thank you so much" said Zora.

Tawni smiled to herself. She had to take up a lot of Sonny's responsibilities. It felt good to help someone. Tawni applied a coat of coco moco coco on her lips and contemplated the best time to call Sonny.

After a satisfying meeting with the Board Sonny descended the building for lunch. She was joining Rodrick at Cassandra's. Thursdays usually went like this. Sonny dropped Bella at school, Maria made breakfast while Sonny and Rodrick had a bro-sis moment lunch.
