Three weeks.

It'd been three weeks since Donna's shooting and while she had been lucky to survive. A lot had changed in those mere three weeks.

Opie had hit the open road, trying to clear his mind and assimilate what the shooting which could have left him a widower and his kids motherless. Originally he'd only be gone a week at the most, but that week turned into another two weeks.

Donna had been released from the hospital, with weekly visits to check on her healing. She'd had to wear a sling to minimizes movement and the stitches were still in. But those would be coming out soon. The sling she'd still have to wear for a few more weeks. Before she'd get started on physical therapy to help condition and strengthen her arm and shoulder.

Carrie had practically moved into the Winston home, given that she was there most nights. Helping Donna with chores and errands while helping to take care of the kids, when they weren't in school.

Her and Mary would alternate on helping to look after them. Mary would help out while Carrie was at work and When Carie was out She'd take over, relieving Mary of her duties.

Duties that she could see were taking a toll on the older woman. She was thankful for her help but Carrie could see Mary was getting restless to go back home. To a home seventy five miles from Charming, where she'd made a life for her self away from the town but most importantly away from the club.

But Mary wasn't the only one who who was restless. Carrie was under a lot of stress not only at work but having to juggle caring for her best friend/sister and for her niece and nephew. She had to manage her time wisely while still leaving room for her personal life.

"Have you even been sleeping or eating right?"

Carrie rolled her eyes before turning to look at her best friend. "Shouldn't I be the one lecturing you? You're the one who needs to rest and eat well, since you're still recovering from surgery."

"And I am. Unlike you, I can see the bags under your eyes Carrie," Donna argued. Sitting at the kitchen table, as Carrie moved around the kitchen cutting away the groceries. "You have enough going on with your work schedule. You don't have to be looking after us either."

"You're right I don't have to," Carrie shrugged. "But I want to, believe me if I didn't I wouldn't be here. I would be out there living my best life."

"Living your best life with David?" Donna teased before shaking her head. "I didn't see that one coming. I thought you and Jax would have worked things out."

Carrie shook her head. "I tried working things out with him. And he just let me down, I'm over it. He made his choice in going back to Tara. So, I made mine in moving on with my life too."

"Yeah, but I still can't believe you moved on with the Deputy Chief," Donna softly laughed while shaking her head. "Have you told Piney yet?"

Carrie froze, before turning to look at Donna. Ignoring as she let out a snort, trying to contain her laughter. "Piney is going to burst a gasket when he finds out. Not to mention Opie."

"Speaking of my dear older brother," Carrie said, hoping that Donna would stop laughing at her dilemma. "Have you heard from him?"

"He called last night," Donna shrugged her good shoulder. "Said he'd be home today, but seeing as he extended his road trip, twice, I'm not really counting on it."

Carrie sympathized with Donna. All she wanted was her husband by her side but that wasn't the case. "You know he needed to clear his head," she softly reminded her. "If he said he'd be back today. Then he's coming home. The last two time he hadn't given us a specific day."

"I know, but I'm the one who got shot and almost died," Donna shook her head. "I guess I'm just feeling a little resentful because he wasn't there when I woke up."

"It's normal for you to be feeling that way. But now he'll be home, which means you can now boss him around to do your bidding," Carrie teased, making Donna laugh and agree.

Jax pulled onto the police station parking lot. Turning his bike off, as David Hale made his way over, stopping a couple of feet away from his bike.

"Heard Ope's back."

Jax nodded before moving off his bike. "Yeah."

David placed his hands on his hips. Watching as Jax removed his sunglasses. "How's he doing?"

"He's doing okay. Thats why I'm here. Look this guy's been through enough. So whoever we think was responsible for Donna we can't let Ope know."

David shook his head. Looking away for a moment. "Well I'm not gonna lie to him if he asks, just because I can't prove it was Clay."

"Think about it man. What's this going to do to Ope? It's going to turn him inside out. The guy almost lost his wife." Jax further drove his point in by using Unser knowing that David wanted the chief position. "Clay talks into Unser's ear and shit blows back onto you."

"Alright," David sighed before sighing begrudgingly. "I'll protect Opie. I won't mention my suspicions but you got to do something for me." Waiting for Jax's confirmation, before voicing his concern. "Unser is in bad shape. He shouldn't be running things and he's got two months on his extension left. After the time is up, you got to let him step down."

Jax contemplated it. Knowing that the final answer wasn't entirely up to him, before nodding. "I'll do what I can." Jax said knowing it was the best he could do for now. Before turning back to his bike getting ready to leave.

"Hey Jax," David said stopping Jax from leaving. Causing him to turn back to face him.

Feeling the need to let him on the change, regarding a brunette nurse."I just thought you should hear it from me, given your past history with Carrie. But me and her recently started seeing each other. Just wanted to make sure there wouldn't be any problems."

Jax clenched his jaw, before acting aloof to the recent development. "Nah man. You're all good."

There it is.

Will Donna's resentment towards Opie work itself out now that he's back? Or it will it cause a wedge between them?

What about Carie and David's relationship? Will that run smoothly or will people interfere in it?

Let me know what you guys think.
