"I think there might be another way to get our message across."
Zobelle looked up from where he was fixing on of the cases. Giving Weston his undivided attention. "What is it?"
"I stopped by to get Cliffy checked out for a cut. I saw Teller and Hale arguing in the corridor," Weston informed crossing his arms. "They were arguing about someone named Carrie. Whoever she is must be important to them both, since they seemed to be having a heated argument over her."
"Interesting but how does she come into play?"
"If we can get to her, we can use her to get to the club or at least Teller," Weston suggested before shrugging. " Maybe even get to Hale and show him which side he should be on."
"Look into, find out what's going on there with the three of them, and we'll go from there. If she's as important to them as it seems to be. Maybe she will be the push in the right direction we need," Zobelle said, turning to continue setting up the case to show the cigars. Before pausing and looking at Weston. "In the meantime, the plan we had set goes on. Polly said the van was in place. This might serve to humble them down."
"You know when I talked to you at Abel's homecoming," Donna crossed her arms as she stepped aside, letting Jax come in. "I thought I'd gotten to you, that you'd make the right choice. Guess I was wrong."
"How's the shoulder?" Jax questioned, choosing to change the subject.
"It's getting there, therapy is helping to get rid of the stiffness," Donna answered moving her arm. "Sill hurts every once in a while but at least I have movement."
Jax nodded, knowing that if the bullet had caused more damage she could have lost function of it. Donna leaned back into her chair, "You know that still doesn't get you off the hook."
"I know, I was hoping you'd drop it."
"Not gonna happen Jax," Donna shook her head. "So why is it that you're with Tara and not Carrie?"
Jax hesitated in answering, asking him that question since the moment he made the decision. "Me and Tara love each other. We worked our shit out and working on making this work," he finally answered, looking at Donna.
Donna raised her eyebrow, not believing him. "Do you really think Tara can handle everything that comes with the club?"
"You did," Jax pointed out. "She can too."
"I almost didn't at least not once Opie went in. You saw how my dislike for the club almost tore me and Opie apart but after the shit with Stahl. I knew that Opie would never leave and I've accepted that. I know that in order to be with Opie, I have to accept the club as part of the deal." Donna shook her head, leaning forward. "Do you really think Tara's cut out to be an old lady?"
"What, you think Carrie is?" Jax shook his head. "I get that Carrie is part of your family and you're on her side. But that doesn't mean that you have to push the issue every time we talk. Besides she's moved on too and I'm sure that you're not talking Hale down to her."
"You're right Carrie is family but that isn't why I'm pushing this. I'm doing it because I can see how you two look at each other when you're in a room together," Donna shrugged, leaning back. "She can try to hide behind the hurt and anger she feels towards you. But I know she still loves you, because while she won't admit it she does."
"The same goes for you. You can act all you want but we both know that you feel the same. That's why you're back with Tara, you're pushing the feelings you have for Carrie onto your relationship for Tara," Donna sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. Before looking at Jax pointing at him. "You two need to figure your shit out and pull your head out of your ass. Otherwise, you'll both be miserable in relationships, while pretending you're happy and in love."
"Opie not coming home tonight?"
Donna shrugged looking towards Carrie. "I don't know, he called said something about an explosion at T-M. I think Chibs was hurt," she shook her head. "But you know, since he's rarely home or talks more than a few sentences I couldn't get much more before he hung up."
"You two still haven't worked anything out?"
"Nope, that remind you of someone?" Donna questioned Carrie, causing her to roll her eyes.
"Me and Jax isn't going to happen. I tried but you saw how it turned out." Carrie shook her head before sighing. "I'll try talking to him see if he'll listen to me."
"Yeah, well good luck with that. He can be just as hard headed as his father." Donna said, rolling her eyes and sighing. Before sheepishly looking at Carrie. "By the way, I told Opie about you and Jax."
Carrie groaned, looking up at the ceiling. "I'm sorry but we were arguing and it kind of slipped out when he mentioned the hospital incident," Donna quickly explained. "I mean you make it pretty pretty obvious that you're hurting over him."
"Well as long as Opie doesn't end up in jail for assault. I think we'll be good," Carrie stated.
"You felt the tension between them too huh?"
Carrie nodded, hoping that this didn't make it worse. She didn't want to their friendship coming to an end.
"You living at the club now?'
Opie looked up from his bag. "Sometimes I crash here," he said before standing up.
"You should be at home with Donna and the kids," Jax suggested. "They need you to be there, I know you're working through some shit. If you guys are having problems-"
"Yeah, I'm trying to work through my shit. But me and my family are fine." Opie said cutting Jax off. "Maybe you should focus on getting your own shit together."
"What does that mean?"
"It means that you have a lot more shit on your plate than I do," Opie shrugged, shaking his head. "Whatever is going on between you and Clay, you need to step back and get in line. It's his club. Once you're at the gavel, then you can call the shots."
Opie went to walk away but stopped besides Jax. "I know about you and Carrie," Opie narrowed his gaze at him. "That shit isn't going to slide. The only reason I haven't done anything is because we already have a lot of bullshit to deal with. But this isn't going to go unresolved, that's my sister you used. Not some crow eater."
So I want to start by apologizing for any grammar mistakes or typos. I try to go back as I write in order to edit but sometimes a few tend to slide through. Especially, since when I'm writing and once the words start flowing, I type fast to get it all on the page before I forget.
So let me know what you think. Remember any suggestions are welcome. They might even make it into future chapters.
