I feel a little iffy about the first part of this chapter, like i like it but then I don't know. So enjoy the read and let me know what you guys thought.
"So how do lockdowns work?"
"Once everyone gets to the club, the gates get closed," Opie placed one of the bags in the trunk of Donna's car. "No one comes in and no one goes out, unless it's authorized. If you leave, a patch is with you at all times, but you don't have to worry about asking for permission. Because your ass isn't going anywhere, as soon as we get to T-M your staying put."
Carrie glared at Opie. "How come you're only singling me out?"
"Because unlike you," Donna pointed at her. "I actually listen. You're too stubborn and hard headed."
Carrie motioned to Opie. "He's worse than I am and I'm a grown woman. I don't need to be baby sat."
Opie gave her a pointed look. "Just get your butt in the car."
Carrie crossed her arms. "Why can't I take my own car?"
"I don't trust you not to do anything stupid," Opie shrugged before pointing at the car. "Now move it."
"You're such a jerk," Carrie huffed before getting in the car.
Donna laughed as she saw Carrie pouting. "Gotta love the pregnancy hormones."
Opie shook his head. "Yeah. Well, she's going to be such a ray of sunshine," he said sarcastically.
Donna laughed shaking her head. "This lockdown is going to be interesting. Don't forget Tara's going to be there too."
Opie's eyes grew wide. "Oh shit."
"How much damage can a pregnant woman be capable of doing?"
"Can you stop glaring."
"I will when she does," Carrie answered.
Donna shook her head. "We don't know how long this lockdown is going to be. So try to get along, there's only so much space around here."
Carrie rolled her eyes. "Fine, but if she pisses me off, I make no promises."
"You're pregnant," Donna scolded while side eyeing her best friend.
"I can still throw a punch," Carrie pointed out and shrugged. "I just can't get into an actual altercation."
Donna looked at her in disbelief. "You're like a gremlin. We need to put a warning label on you."
"I don't get why she's here," Tara said, glancing over her shoulder. "She would have been safe with Hale."
"She's family," Gemma stated, side eyeing Tara.
"Just because she might be carrying Jax's baby, doesn't make her family."
"She's got ties to the club. Not only is she best friends with Donna," Gemma said, leaning towards Tara. "But in case you didn't know Carrie is Piney's kid and Opie's sister. That's why she's here." Gemma looked towards Carrie and smirked. "And I'd be careful with that one, don't piss her off."
"We need to talk."
Carrie mentally groaned, she was so not ready for this, but she didn't have a choice. She gave a pleading look to Donna, silently asking her to stay, but the traitor only smirked before ushering the kids into the clubhouse.
Carrie looked straight ahead, keeping her gaze on the parked cars, as Jax sat on the picnic table. "You're gonna have to talk to me sometime. You can't ignore me forever, especially not now."
Jax nodded, while looking away. "Okay fine, how far along are you?"
Carrie shrugged looking at her intertwined hands. Jax sighed in frustration, before softly grabbing her chin and turning her head, but she kept her gaze down. "Lyn, you gotta talk to me," Jax softly said, taking in her split lip and cut on her cheek. The bruises on her delicate face made his blood boil, igniting the need for vengeance even more than it already was.
Carrie closed her eyes, before opening them to look into his. "Don't," Carrie softly protested, feeling her walls starting to crumble when he called her his nickname for her.
"It got you talk to me," Jax answered before shrugging. "So if I have to play dirty. I will because we can't ignore each other. Not now."
"The baby might not be yours Jax," Carrie reminded him.
"How far along are you?" Jax questioned, still not letting go of her, until she softly moved her head away. Immediately missing the contact with her.
"I don't know, I have an appointment with my OB tomorrow. They'll do an ultrasound then and some more bloodwork," Carrie shrugged. "I'm scared, because what if this thing with Weston caused complications or it results in a miscarriage?"
"That's not going to happen, babe. So don't think like that."
Carrie sighed before shaking her head. "If this baby is yours, don't feel obligated to be a part of it's life," she said, looking at him.
"If that baby is mine, I'm going to help raise it. I'm going to be there every step of the way," Jax argued. "You're not doing it alone."
"You think Tara is going to be okay with that?"
"I don't care what Tara thinks," Jax shook his head.
"Well you should, because the last thing I want is to cause problems," Carrie sighed. "Besides I can't imagine it's easy to see your boyfriend having a kid with someone who isn't you."
"We'll figure something out when the time comes," Jax said, leaning his forearms on his thighs. "You talk to Hake about this?"
Carrie nodded. "Yeah, I'm giving him some time to wrap his head around this. I might go and talk to him tomorrow after my appointment."
"At what time is it?"
"Eight. " Carrie answered before shrugging. "I'd rather not be waiting until the afternoon and constantly thinking about it. Figured this way I wouldn't have much time to overthink."
"Alright, I'll try to go with you. If I can't then I'll have another brother keep an eye on you."
"I'll be fine on my own," Carrie stated.
"I'm sure Opie already told you how this works, but you're not going anywhere without a patch member. I don't care if it's just to the sidewalk, someone is with you or you don't go anywhere."
"He cares about you that's why he said that."
Carrie rolled her eyes, shaking her head before pausing in her pacing. "He just feels obligated because I may be having his kid. That's all it is and that's all it ever will be."
Now it was Donna's turn to roll her eyes. "Seriously? If he didn't care, he wouldn't have gone to your place or followed you to St. Thomas."
"He was going to see Chibs anyway," Carrie said, waving her off. Trying to play it off like it was nothing.
"Then why did he show up at your place and demand that you check in with him. Not anyone else from the club, but him personally and then made sure you made it safely not only to work. But he walked you all the way inside," Donna said sitting at the edge of the bed, while watching as Carrie paced inside the room. "You two need to admit that you still have feelings for each other. You two care and love one another but are acting like you're not. If you two admitted it, you could have been together ages ago."
"I'm not in love with him," Carrie quickly denied, looking towards Donna who gave her a 'bitch please' look. "I'm not, he cheated on me with Tara, while toying with my emotions. I can't love him."
Donna softened, before softly pulling Carrie down beside her. "I know he was a real asshole about the whole you-him-Tara situation. Breaking your heart in the process but if you didn't feel anything for him. You wouldn't have given him that second chance and if you didn't love him you wouldn't have slept with him or still be so broken up about it."
"I slept with David too," Carrie weakly pointed out, looking at Donna before groaning and covering her face with her hands. "Okay fine, so I love Jax but I can't let him in again Donna. He's already hurt me and now it's not just me I have to think about. It won't only be be who gets hurt."
"He loves you too, he's just blinded by his emotions at having Tara back," Donna shook her head before looking at Carrie. "He's made his mistakes and he has hurt you but I can see the love he has for you. He plays it off, like you do, and tries to push it onto Tara but he's only fooling himself."
"If he feels that way then why is he with her?" Carrie questioned before shaking her head. "He loves her Donna, like you said she was his first love. She's got a hold on him that won't break, we've all seen it. Especially since they're together, not to mention they're living together and she's helping him raise Abel."
"He's always going to love her because of the memories he has of the good times between them," Donna pointed out before shaking her head. "But he's not in love with her now. He's holding onto the feelings and memories he felt back then, while using the feelings he has for you now and pushing them onto her. While Tara loved him back then, I think it was more because of the protection and escape he provided."
"Her home life wasn't the greatest, her mother had died and her father was a drunk," Donna informed Carrie. "Back then, all she wanted to do was get out of this town and leave it all behind. But then, she got with Jax and he provided the escape from being at home with her father. Providing protection and respect because no one wanted to mess with her and risk Jax coming after them."
"So you're saying she only used him and is using him now?"
Donna shook her head. "I think she cares and loves him but she loves the benefits of being with him more. Especially now that he's in the 's a sense of respect for the women because people fear the guys. They don't want to get onto their bad side and while most people in the town may have a hate for them because of what they do. They still respect them because they keep violence and drugs out of Charming, making it safe for the people living in this town."
"But being involved with someone in the club isn't easy and isn't for everyone. The guys can get thrown into jail or they can get hurt and killed while dealing with club business. But the guys aren't the only ones in danger," Donna said motioning to Carrie and herself and mentioning Gemma. "You've witnessed what can happen in order to get to the guys. There's a code that women and children don't get caught in the fire because they're innocents. But sometimes you get asshole's like Zobelle that know that their families are the weakness and take advantage of it."
"You have to be tough in order to fit in with this group because when they're out there dealing with shit, the last thing they need to be thinking about is our safety or fearing something can happen because we can't protect ourselves."
"She's right," Gemma said, startling both women. "Door was unlocked and I wanted to know if you could watch Abel for a bit. Me and Tara are running some errands."
"Yeah I can watch him," Carrie said, standing up and holding her hands out to take him. Bringing him close once he was in her arms.
"Soon enough you'll be holding your own," Gemma pointed out, looking at Carrie with Abel. "Donna's right about having to be tough. We can't be causing worry when the guys are dealing with shit. They have to be focused on what they're doing or lose they could get hurt, maybe even lose their life."
"All Tara causes is worry because she doesn't get our way of life. She wants the respect and the protection that comes with being with Jax but she can't handle what it takes to be an old lady," Gemma stated, crossing her arms and leaning back against the dresser. "We're just in as much danger as the guys are, if not in more, and we have twice as much to lose. Because when the guys leave whether it be on runs or to handle club business. We never know if they're going to come back to us. Some get hurt, others end up dying or they get sent to jail and we're the ones left to pick up the pieces."
Gemma shook her head, "Tara already left once when things got tough and even though she tries to accept the club. She never fully will because deep down she wants a life away from this all. I can see it, it's only a matter of time before something happens and she's going to get packing and leave."
"She's stuck around this long already," Carrie pointed out.
"But how much longer will she be around is the real question," Donna said looking between Carrie and Gemma.
"Right now she has her claws in my son and you possibly having his baby, dug those claws in deeper," Gemma said looking at Carrie. "Jax has been blinded by that tart since he was in high school, but you have to be the one to open his eyes completely. He already loves you, you just have to yank her claws out of him for him to see that."
"They left you on babysitting duty?" Jax asked, as Carrie came out of the kitchen with Abel in her arms. He walked over to her, standing in front her before her ran his hand down Abel's back. Causing a stir of emotions to run through him, as he took her in with his son in his arms. The most prominent being love. He loved the way she looked, like it came natural and he loved the way her eyes shone with love when looking at Abel. "We're going to go and take care of some club business in a little bit. But I can have one of the other girls take him if you want."
Carrie quickly shook her head. "No, I can look after him besides I was just about to put him down for a nap," she said before shrugging. "Figured I might take one too."
"You feeling okay?" Jax questioned taking in her tired appearance and dark circles under her eyes.
"I'm fine," Carrie reassured him, giving him a small smile to ease the worry in his eyes. "I'm just tired, I haven't been sleeping that well. Being pregnant isn't helping either, it's slowly kicking my ass and I just found out. Not to mention it's just the first trimester."
Jax chuckled before brushing her hair away from her face. Letting his hand linger on her cheek before dropping it. "We're meeting with Weston tonight at eight," Jax informed, looking into her eyes as she looked up from Abel. "Ten of his guys against ten of us."
"You going to kill?"
Jax shrugged. "If it comes down to it, I will," Jax answered honestly before shaking his head. "What he did to you and my mom. I want to rip his fucking heart out, but we can't do anything stupid, not when they've been playing it smart."
"Then you play it smart,"Carrie stated, not looking away from him. "You can't risk going back into county. So, tonight try to contain yourself. Kick his ass and while you're at it get in a punch or two from me."
Jax chuckled before shaking his head. "I got you. Don't worry about it."
Carrie gave him a smile before leaning up to kiss his cheek. "In case I don't see you later, good luck and be safe."
"Always am babe," Jax answered, watching as she turned and walked down the hall towards the rooms. Turning around he caught Opie and Donna's smirking faces before meeting the angry eyes of his old lady and the knowing look on his mother's face.
Shaking his head, he walked passed them, not wanting to deal with it right now. He'd deal with Tara and her insecurities later.
So things are starting to build up.
You guys know what's coming, given how season 2 ended.
In the next chapter we find out who the baby daddy is.
Also there's about like two chapters left before we move onto Season 3. I already have the next one written and i am working on the next one.
I'll probably, most likely continue that on here before starting the sequel in the next one.
So in the meantime let me know what your theories are and what you want to see happen next.
