"I'll stop by after work." Carrie told Donna as she picked up her bag. "It's my second to last day and the guys are going up north for Abel."
"You want me to pick anything up?"
Carrie shook her head. "I'm not sure what I'll be craving by then," she teasingly said. "I'll see you later."
"Good luck on your second to last day," Donna called out.
"Thanks, good luck at TM." Carrie answered before closing the door behind her.
I need to stay at my own place, she thought as she shook her getting into her car. She'd been so used to staying over at the Winston's that she hardly had been to her apartment.
"I want to come with you," Tara stated, causing him to stop walking up the stairs. "To Canada."
"No." Jax shook his head and walking towards her.
"Look I'm the only one who's not wanted. You're going to need my help."
"What I need right now, is for you to go back to work." Jax firmly stated. "You're going back to Charming and then you're going back to work."
"He's mine too." Tara argued. "I want to be with my family."
"We're not your family!" Jax raised his voice, losing his patience. "Do you not see how deep I'm buried here? You don't want this."
"Don't tell me what I want!" Tara argued. "I asked for the truth. You gave it to me. So I'm coming up north with you."
"I told you so you would stay put! You're not coming up north."
"Yes I am." Tara argued. "I'm your old lady. I should be with you when you go to bring Abel home."
"You want to be an old lady?" Jax questioned having enough of this conversation. "Then act like one and do what you're told! Pack your shit and head back to Charming!"
"I just helped your mother kill someone! That old lady enough for you?!" Tara pulled the wheel chair into view. Which still had some of the duct tape stuck onto it.
Jax stared from the wheelchair to Tara in disbelief. "What are you talking about?"
"The caretaker. She attacked your mother." Tara nervously informed him.
Jax looked down at the wheelchair, before looking back at her. "What the hell did you do?"
"I had no choice. It was self-defense," Tara looked down, furrowing her brow. Jax looked at her in disbelief as he heard footsteps coming down the stairs.
"I got one more," Gemma informed, setting the box down. Looking between Jax and Tara, feeling the tension between the two. "What happened?"
Jax backed away from his mother, not believing that they could have done something so stupid in the middle of everything that was going on.
Shit just keeps piling up, he thought shaking his head.
"What?" Gemma questioned, knowing something was happening between her son and Tara. Before she finally noticed the wheel chair that still had the duct tape stuck to it. "Aw, shit," she muttered knowing what had happened.
"What happened?" Jax questioned his mother.
Gemma looked towards Tara, who couldn't look at her, instead choosing to look at the wall.
"Gotta go," Clay said, as he came down the basement stairs followed by Tig.
Jax looked over his shoulder, at Clay who was leaning over the bannister. "I'm dealing with something."
"Yeah, so are Bobby and Piney." Tig informed Jax.
Clay sighed, knowing something must have gone down. "What's going on?"
"Apparently these lovely ladies whacked the caretaker." Jax told Clay, before pointing at Tig. "And this idiot helped them."
Clay looked at Tig in disbelief. "What?"
"Actually I just made a phone call," Tig answered, shrugging nonchalantly.
"Jesus Christ." Clay muttered. "We'll deal with this later. Right now we go and help Bobby and Piney."
Jax looked at them, angrily shaking his head, before moving towards the stairs hearing Clay call out to move it.
"Douche bag," he stated, passing Tig on his up the stairs.
"So when is your last day?"
"Tomorrow," Carrie answered, closing the chart.
"That quick?"
Carrie shrugged. "I was giving my two weeks but Maggie said to take a few days off to think it over and if I still wanted to do this. Then she'd file my resignation, effective immediately."
Mackenzie nodded before giving her a hopeful look. "Well maybe the days off will help clear your head and re think your decision."
"I doubt it," Carrie said shaking her head. "But we'll see."
Carrie knew she wouldn't change her mind. She needed to be with her family now more than ever.
"What happened?" Jax questioned over the roar of the bikes.
"She just took off." Tara raised her voice so she could be heard over the roar of the bikes.
"What do you mean she took off?" Clay questioned as the noise died down once they shut the engines off. Before he walked closer to where Tara was standing next to Jax.
"I went inside to check Nate in and when I came back Gemma and the car was gone."
"Did she say anything?" Clay questioned.
"No," Tara shook her head. "She was crying when I left her. Nate was begging her to take him home. It broke her heart, to hear him begging her." Tara explained.
None of them said anything. They were too busy to try and figure out where Gemma could have taken off to.
Jax finally realizing where his mother had gone. "Jesus, she went home."
"Abel." Clay stated.
Jax quickly took off his helmet and handed it to Tara. The sound of engines starting up again, he waited until Tara was sitting behind him before taking off with the club.
"Hey, I thought we could order some pizza and watch a movie," Carrie called out walking into the Winston household.
"Sounds good," Donna said walking out of the kitchen. "Any special reason?"
"Just want to take my mind off everything happening."
Donna nodded in understanding. "I'll order the pizza. You and the kids pick a movie."
"Hello?" Carrie cautiously answered not recognizing the number.
"Carrie, it's Gemma. By any chance do you know where Neeta is? I came home, but she's not here with the baby.""
Carrie felt her heart stop and the blood drain from her face. Looking over at the kids watching a movie, meeting Donna's concerned eyes. She slowly stood up, before moving into the kitchen.
"No," she cleared her throat. "I don't know where she could have taken him."
Carrie closed her eyes hating the fact that she couldn't tell Gemma the truth but it wasn't something you could say over the phone.
"Oh okay. I'll check the clubhouse then."
"Yeah, okay." Carrie answered, hearing the dial tone.
Carrie closed the prepaid and sat it on the counter before rubbing her temples. She knew Gemma's heart was going to be shattered at not finding Abel and there wasn't anything she could do to stop it.
"Neeta been here with the baby?" Gemma asked as soon as she had walked into the clubhouse.
The two hang arounds who had been playing a game of pool and a few crow eaters didn't say anything. They just quietly looked at one another.
Finally after a minute or so one of them answered, "No."
Gemma nodded before leaving. Now she was starting to get even more worried. No one had seen Neeta with the baby. She had just started to make her way across the pavement when her phone rang causing her to halt in her steps.
"Yeah?" she answered uncertainly at the unknown number.
"Gemma? It's Maureen Ashby. Know who I am?"
"Yeah. How'd you get this number?"
"Just listen. Cammy Hayes took your grandson. He was my cousin. He brought the wee one to me to take care of him."
"What?" Gemma asked in disbelief as the roar of motorcycles approached.
"Abel's in Belfast."
So, first i want to thank you. You guys sure know how to uplift my spirits when i'm frustrated over not being able to give you a good chapter lol. So thank you for that i really appreciate it.
So Gemma knows about Abel and how he's in Belfast.
Carrie is quitting working at the hospital to be closer in the loop.
Question is: Will she be going to Belfast with them?
Do you guys want to see the Tara/Hector Salazar(Calaveras MC president) thing play out? Because I went back to reread the sequel and I could work something out with it lol.
Also should Jax and Carrie work their business out before the club goes to jail and possibly get together? Or should they work it out but not get together until they get out of jail?
Let me know in the comments below what you guys think. Also if you have any suggestions as to what you want to see, don't be shy, go ahead and let me know.
