Last time in You Are My Love…
Ichigo and Rukia had their first obstacle ever in their still beginning relationship. Orihime and Renji made a plan to break them up. Seeing the drastic moment unfold in front of his eyes, Ichigo ran away and cried alone as the rain continued to fall on him.

Chapter 17
The Rival's Attack: Resolve
.
Rukia held on to the edge of her bed as she woke up the next day. She groaned in pain as she sat up.
"My head… hurts…" she muttered with a painful voice. "What happened to me…?"
The door to her room opened and she saw her younger sister with her scrutinizing gaze. "Momo, what's wrong with you?" she asked as she blinked her eyes at her sister.
"Rukia nee-chan… what have you done?!" she gritted her teeth at her and Rukia was surprised to hear her sister mad at her. She gazed at her confused.
"What do you mean? Have I done something?" she inquired, tilting her head slightly.
Momo let out a frustrating sigh and crossed her arms over her chest. "I think so, nee-chan."
"Eh?" Rukia's eyes widened in surprise. "I did?"
"What happened last night, nee-chan?"
The raven haired girl furrowed her eyebrows as she thought back about last night. She remembered going in a bar with Renji. Both of them talked with each other normally. Then, she went to the washroom for a little while. When she came back, she drank her drink and then… And then…
She felt a sharp pain and she held her head in her palm. "Ouch." She mumbled under her breath.
"Argh, why can't I remember what happened next?" she asked loudly to herself, unaware of the raised eyebrow of her little sister.
"Nee-chan? Are you alright?"
"Argh," she groaned. "No Momo. My head feels like it will split open. It hurts too much."
The younger Shiba shook her head in disappointment. "That's what you get for drinking."
"Drinking? It's just orange juice Momo."
Momo's eyes widened in surprise. "Orange juice?"
"Yeah."
"But… but last night… you…"
Rukia stared at her sister. "What Momo? What is it?"
"Renji nii-san was the one who took you home last night, nee-chan. I was expecting you and Ichigo nii-san but I was shocked to actually see you with him and drunk nonetheless."
"WHAT! I'M… DRUNK?" she shrieked, causing Momo to cover her ears to escape the annoying noise. She nodded grimly.
"Yeah, you're so down on the bed last night. Good thing, Mom and Dad are out on a business trip or else, you'll be dead."
Rukia slapped her forehead. "Yeah, I'm going to be dead. Thanks Momo."
"No, it's okay." She nodded. "But… it's weird, nee-chan."
The older sister nodded in agreement, violet eyes serious. "You're right. It's weird. Why would I be drunk with a glass of orange juice?"
They thought about it some more but it was already morning, and time for school. Momo told her sister to stay put and rest for today. She wouldn't be able to concentrate in school anyway. "Thanks, Momo."
"It's alright, you don't have to worry."
"Just tell Ichigo just in case, that I don't feel well." Rukia reminded, as Momo prepared herself for school.
"Hai hai, I know." She put her shoes on and waved at her sister.
"Take care, Momo."
"I'm going now, nee-chan."
As her sister left, Rukia decided to have a nap first, and when she wake up, she would think about what had happened last night.
…
Something was wrong.
It didn't feel right. Therefore, something was wrong.
The white haired boy sat down at the breakfast table as Ichigo scratched his orange hair. The young Hitsugaya were already donned in his uniform while the orange haired Kurosaki just woke up and he seemed not bothered about being late.
"Nii-chan, are you okay?"
"No, Toushirou, I felt awful. Can you tell Tatsuya that I'm not coming to school today?" his voice was hoarse and he looked really pale.
"Ichigo nii-chan, you look pale." He stood up and walked towards him, placing his palm on his forehead. His eyes widened in surprise. "You're burning up! What happened?"
"I'll be okay, it will pass. I just need to rest."
Toushirou sighed. "Alright. Stay in bed for now, nii-chan. Uncle will be back in late afternoon. Do you want me to leave something for you to eat, and also, medicine?"
Ichigo nodded and smiled slightly. "Thanks, Toushirou." He said, and walked upstairs to their room.
The white haired boy stared at his back in wonder. "I think something happened." He sighed, and finished his breakfast to prepare one for his older cousin before he went to school.
…
Ichigo laid down on his bed. His breathing was heavy and hot. He placed his one arm on his forehead and cursed as he felt how hot he was.
"Tsch. I felt like dying." He mumbled as he closed his eyes, but only saw the moment he wished he had never seen. His amber eyes opened in panic and he tried to calm his breathing. His eyes held anger, pain, and loneliness.
"I… can't believe I've been a fool all this time…"
He laid on his side and tried to get some much needed sleep. He hoped that when he wakes up, it would only be just a dream.
…
"Good morning, Shirou-chaaaaaan…!" the white haired boy tried to hide his annoyance. "Argh, so early in the morning and I hear that stupid… nickname… tsch!" he mumbled as he walked towards her.
"Good morning!" she repeated with an enthusiastic tone and a bright smile. He felt blood rushing on his cheek but covered it up with a gruff, "Aa, good morning, Momo."
He sat down on his seat, which was behind her. He placed his bag at the side of the table and checked his books under the table. Momo faced him with a somber expression which he noticed.
"What do you want, Momo?"
"Shirou-chan."
She sounded so serious that Toushirou had to stare at her. "Is there something wrong?"
The girl sighed and stared at him. "Where is Ichigo nii-san, Shirou-chan?"
"Ichigo nii-chan?" he tilted his head. "He has a high fever so he stayed home today."
Momo's eyes widened. "What happened? Is he alright?" she asked worriedly.
"I think, he's going to be okay with some medicine and a lot of rest."
Momo sighed. "That's good."
"Why are you asking, Momo?"
The Shiba young daughter looked at him straight in the eyes again. "Do you know that Rukia nee-chan went home last night with Abarai Renji and she was drunk…?"
"I don't know about th—WHAT!" his loud voice caused the students in their classroom to look at them. Momo glared at him. "Baka! Be quiet!"
"Sorry." He raised his eyebrows. "But is it true? Rukia nee-san really…"
"Yeah, I'm really surprised, seeing her in that state in the arms of Abarai Renji. Can you imagine?"
"No, I'm not there."
She glared. He averted his gaze. She sighed.
"Anyway, I think something happened between Ichigo nii-san and Rukia nee-chan. I mean, yesterday, Ichigo nii-san said that he would take my sister home but…"
Toushirou nodded in understanding. "I know what you are implying." He said. "I can also feel that something is wrong when I saw Ichigo nii-chan like… that, his sickness aside."
"Hmm… Shirou-chan, I think we should investigate this."
Toushirou raised an eyebrow. "Investigate?"
"Yeah! Something weird is going on and I don't want those two to break up anytime soon. They just started this relationship."
"You're right." He firmly stared at her. "I'm with you one hundred percent this time, Momo."
She grinned in thanks.
"So, after class, alright?"
"Yeah, after class."
The bell rang signaling the start of the class and the two couldn't wait to start their investigation.
…
"So," the white haired boy asked as they walked towards the coffee shop. "What do we do first?"
Momo placed her fingertips on her chin in thought and glanced at her childhood friend. "I think we should ask the people involve first about what happened."
"Hm… so, we'll be separating from here."
The young girl nodded. "Yup."
"You're right." Toushirou waved at her as she walked the opposite direction. "See you later."
"Call me when you're done!" she called out.
"Hai hai."
They continued in separate ways.
…
"Argh…" she groaned as she opened her eyes. She sat up and stretched her arms. Rukia glanced at the clock on her bedside. "What?" she stared at the clock. "It's already this late?"
She got up immediately and out of her room to call for her sister. "Momo?"
"She's still not here, miss Rukia." one of the maids told her. She nodded in understanding. "I see. Thanks."
"Do you want something to eat miss?" the maid asked. Rukia smiled gratefully.
"Sure, I'm hungry. Thanks. I'll eat in the dining room."
"Hai."
Rukia made her way to her room to fix herself first before eating her late brunch.
…
"I'm home." Toushirou said as he went in the room he shared with his older cousin. He saw Ichigo sitting on his bed, guitar in hand. "Nii-chan, are you alright now?"
Ichigo looked at him and forced a smile. "Yeah, I got enough rest. Thank you for the medicine."
"You're welcome." Toushirou sat down on the floor, facing him. "But, what really happened last night?" he saw his older cousin's face changed expression. It became painful. He had his suspicions. "It's… about Rukia nee-san, isn't it?"
Ichigo sighed audibly.
"Nii-chan, you'll feel better if you let it all out." he said, arms crossed. "You can talk to me."
The orange haired teen couldn't help but smile. "Wow, a boy younger than me wants to be my advisor."
"Ichigo nii-chan…"
"Okay… I think you're right." His smile disappeared. "Well, I talked to Orihime in a bar. She just want to talk to Ran since her next job was in Korea. We're on our way home but then…"
He clenched his fists.
"We saw them… they got out of the bar… and they were… kissing…"
Toushirou's eyes widened. She remembered what Momo had told him this morning.
I think it was related to what Ichi nii saw. But, how did they do that?
"What did you do?" he asked. Ichigo leaned on the wall. "Of course I ran and then it rain hard and…"
"…and then you got sick because of that."
Ichigo shrugged. "KInda."
Silence dwelled around them.
"So… what do you plan to do now?"
"Nothing. I just don't want to see her or them right now."
Toushirou stared at his painful expression. "Nii-chan…"
"Aaahh, I got hungry because of all these talks." he stood up and attempted to go out of the room. "I'm going to prepare something. Wanna eat?"
"Hmm… I'm okay."
"Alright. See you." and Ichigo was out.
Toushirou stared at the last place he stood and sighed. He stood up as well and walked out of the room.
He had to talk to Momo.
…
"Nee-chan, did you just wake up?" Momo asked as she sat down on the seat next to her sister. Rukia, after eating, sat on the couch in the living room to wait for her sister.
"No, I woke up a while ago." she replied. "I even finished eating already."
Momo nodded in understanding.
"What about you Momo? Where have you been?"
"Oh, something came up in school. Nee-chan, Ichigo nii-chan is sick. I heard from Shirou-chan."
Rukia's eyes widened in surprise. Soon, it was filled with worry. "What? Why? What happened? Why tell me now? I have to visit him!"
"Wait, nee-chan! Calm down!"
"No, I'll go there now." she stood up and went out of the house in a hurry.
Momo stopped by the door because her sister already got in a cab. She scratched the back of her head. This is not good. She immediately grabbed her phone and called a certain number.
"Come on, come on, hurry."
"Hello?"
"Shirou-chan! Where are you?"
"Where? I'm near your house. I talked to Nii-chan already. We have to plan. What about you?"
"This is not good. Rukia nee-chan is on her way to the coffee shop. We shouldn't let them meet for now."
Toushirou nodded in understanding as he replied, "Harsh words will be exchanged between them."
"Sou. Can you go to the coffee shop now? I'm on my way there."
"Okay."
Momo ran from the house to catch a cab.
…
Rukia got in the coffee shop and found Ichigo sitting on the couch, guitar in hand. She immediately ran to him. "Ichigo!"
Said teen looked at her and ignored her. Rukia sat down next to him. Ichigo stood up, not wanting to be near her. The girl noticed his indifference. "What's wrong with you?" she asked.
"I heard you're sick, that's why I'm here. Why are you ignoring me?"
"It has nothing to do with you."
Rukia's right eyebrow raised up. "What do you mean? I'm your girlfriend. Of course I'm worried. It has everything to do with me. What are you talking about?"
Ichigo shook his head and laughed bitterly. "Wow, girlfriend huh?" he stared at her. "If you are really my girlfriend, you won't have the nerve to kiss anyone behind my back!"
Rukia was confused. "What?" she stood up. "What are you talking about?"
"Don't deny it, Rukia!" he yelled.
She was surprised to hear him raising his voice on her. She had never seen him this angry before.
"I really don't know what you're saying! Tell me!"
"Last night! I saw you and Renji, coming out of the bar and…KISSING!"
Rukia's eyes widened. "What?"
She thought hard of what happened last night. She remembered drinking an orange juice. Then, going to the washroom. Then, drink again. Then… everything became so hazy. Then… argh! She couldn't remember!
"Your silence means I'm right."
She got out of her reverie with his words. She stared at him. "Ichigo, can you hear yourself?" she asked calmly.
"Of course."
"I don't remember what happened last night." she began, making sure that he was listening to her. "I know I only drank an orange juice but then, along the way I got dizzy and I don't know what was happening anymore."
Ichigo shook his head.
"It's true! Momo told me I got home drunk last night! I don't know how did that happen!" she told him, grasping his arm. "Ichigo, believe me. That's all I know. That's all I can remember."
Ichigo refused to believe. It hurts too much and he couldn't believe her. After what he saw last night.
He pulled away his arm and glared at her. Rukia couldn't believe him. In a small voice, she asked him, "Don't you… trust me?"
She was afraid of the answer, but she had to know.
He glared at her as if she was a source of evil. "No. Not anymore, Rukia. I can't trust you."
"Don't you… love me?"
He didn't answer. She stared at him, tears gathering in her eyes, but she refused to let them fall in front of him. "Alright then, this is the end. Thank you for everything. Goodbye." She said as she ran out of the house. She stopped in the Coffee shop and leaned on the counter. She couldn't take it anymore. It hurts to know that the person you love the most, the person who told you that he loves you more than anything, wouldn't trust you. It hurts too much.
The raven haired girl's tears streamed down on her cheeks. She tried to fight the sobs from her throat, because she knew he was still behind that door. He could hear her, and she didn't want him to hear her crying for him.
She felt a hand on her shoulder and glanced. With her tear-filled eyes, she could make out the figure of her sister and her childhood friend.
"Nee-chan…"
"Momo…" she hugged her sister, seeking her warmth.
"It's okay, nee-chan, it's okay." Momo said gently, rubbing her back.
…
Ichigo sat down on the couch, clutching his head. He was biting his lip so hard that he could already taste the blood in them. He was losing himself.
"I can't trust you anymore… because I had loved you too much…" he whispered.
…
Momo, Rukia with Toushirou was in Rukia's room. They were talking about what had Ichigo told Toushirou a little while ago.
"So you mean, it's my fault?"
"No, it's not, nee-chan. It's just that it was a great chance for you to be seen like that." Toushirou said.
Momo nodded. "You mean, it's planned."
"Yeah, someone framed Rukia nee-chan."
Rukia's eyes widened, and her eyebrows rose. "But for what? What will they gain from breaking the two of us apart? Who would do this?"
"There's two people." Momo piped in.
"What?"
Toushirou nodded in agreement. "Abarai Renji and Inoue Orihime."
Rukia shook her head. "No, I can understand if it's Renji but I think Inoue is different."
"Nee-chan," Momo sighed. "She was the one who lured out Nii-chan. In order for him to see you and Abarai-san in that act."
"Then…"
"That speculation is the only thing we could think of, nee-chan. It made sense. Now, I think you can't remember anything and you got drunk because of something mixed in the orange juice. It was probably mixed in when you went to the washroom."
Rukia sighed deeply and thought of it. "Somehow, you're right. I have to get to the bottom of this."
She stood up and prepared her coat. "Where are you going nee-chan?"
Rukia looked at the two youngsters. "I'll talk to Renji."
"Wait nee-chan! We're coming with you!"
…
They all went to Renji's condominium. "Nee-chan, for some reason, I got a bad feeling."
"Momo please don't say that." Rukia said. "And don't worry, your Shirou-chan is here."
The two glanced at each other. "But, I'm also nervous. Okay, here's the plan. If something happened, ran as fast as you can."
"What about you, Rukia nee-san?"
The oldest smiled. "I can manage. But, Toushirou, I'm counting on you to take care of my sister."
"Nee-chan!"
Rukia grinned sheepishly. "Now, come on."
She rang the doorbell and the person they came for opened it for them. "Rukia! I'm glad to see you!"
"Renji, don't hide anymore. We already know what you did."
The red haired boy looked around. "Come in and we'll talk." he said, gripping her hand. Rukia pulled away. "No, explain here."
"You don't know who's boss here, do you?" He opened the door widely, a gun could be seen pointing at them. Their eyes widened.
"Now, come in."
Rukia bit her lip. This is not good.
Ichigo…
…
He sat up suddenly. He looked around. He fell asleep on the couch. He looked at the clock on the table. It was already late afternoon.
"Toushirou?" he called out.
Silence.
"Where is he?" he scratched his head as he stood up to freshen up.
…
The three of them sat on the couch. "I knew you would come here." The red haired boy laughed.
"What did you do to me last night?" Rukia asked glaring at him.
"What? Nothing. I didn't do anything."
"Liar!"
Renji shook his head and gripped her arm so hard that it could cause a bruise. Rukia winced. This didn't go unnoticed by her companions.
"Let go of my sister!" Momo shrieked at her.
"Shut up." Renji said pointing the gun at her, making the girl lean on his seat and Toushirou shielding her.
"You won't get away with this."
"Whatever."
They glared at him in anger. "You can't do anything here. You can't escape easily."
…
"Where is he? It's already late." Ichigo murmured as he walked in the coffee shop. The sunset could be seen and the orange color filled the shop. He sat on the counter and thought of everything.
…of Rukia.
He was mad at her. He really was. But, he still love her. He love her so much that it hurts to believe in her.
Deep in his thoughts, he didn't notice his father coming home and sitting next to him.
"Ichigo?"
He was broke out of his reverie hearing his name. He looked on next to him. "Dad?"
"Looks like what you are thinking is really important. You haven't even notice me sitting here."
He scratched the back of his head. "Sorry. Just something."
"Is this about Rukia?"
He averted his eyes from his father to the counter. His father noticed his painful face.
"Did you two fight?"
The orange haired boy remained silent.
His father sighed. "Ichigo, I'm not forcing you to tell me what happened. But if you are having trouble believing things in contrast of what you had seen, you should talk to the one involve to know the truth."
Ichigo raised his head to look at his father. Isshin smiled. "Because sometimes, what you see is just a figment of your imagination."
He closed his eyes and saw that scene again.
"You love her, don't you?"
"If you can't trust her, why don't you trust the love you have for her?"
Ichigo's closed eyes opened, his amber shining with determination. He could feel his heart yearning for the truth because of his father's words. He was right. He should trust the love they have for each other. Rukia love him. He knew she does.
He smiled at his father. "Thanks Dad."
"You're welcome." He replied with the same gesture.
He stood up and walked towards the glass doors. "I'm going to talk to Rukia." He declared before leaving in a hurry.
His father just looked at his son's form. He smiled softly. "Your son still needs someone to look after him, Masaki." He muttered to the wind.
…
We have to ask for help. But for now, I have to protect these two. Rukia thought as she grasped his arm with the gun. She planned to steal the gun from him.
"Nee-chan! Stop that!" Momo screamed. "It's dangerous!"
"Run! Toushirou, take Momo and call for help! Now!" Rukia yelled as she tried her best to steal the gun.
"But…"
"Just go!"
"Oh no, you don't!" Renji tried to pull away from Rukia but he didn't expect her to be this strong. Toushirou took Momo who was trying to pull away from him out of the door.
The door closed with a bang as Toushirou pulled Momo towards the stairs. "Shirou-chan! My sister! She needs me!"
"We will call nii-chan. Rukia nee-san is right! We have to call for help! We will all be dead there if we stay!"
"Bu-But…"
Just then, they heard a gunshot from above. Their eyes widened as they stopped running. "Nee… chan…"
Momo attempted to run upstairs, but the white haired boy held her back. "Shirou-chan!"
"Momo!" the girl was surprised with his raising voice. "Listen to me. Call Ichigo nii-chan. I'll go back to Rukia nee-san. Do you understand?"
"But—"
"Just do it! Here!" Toushirou gripped her arm as he give her his cellphone. "And don't take a single step out of here."
With that, he ran upstairs to check up on Rukia as Momo, with trembling hands, dialed Ichigo's number. She placed it on her ear, waiting for answer.
"Ichigo nii-chan… please answer…"
…
"Rukia nee-san… please be safe…" Toushirou murmured as he ran fast back to the condominium of Renji.
…
"Rukia, let me go!"
"No I won't!"
As they both gripped each other, the gun suddenly let out a loud noise. They both stopped. They looked at each other and slowly pull away. Renji stood and smiled. "Now now… I told you to let go."
Rukia slumped on the floor with a hand on her waist. She winced as she gripped her wound. This is bad. She glared at Renji who was pointing the gun at her.
"Now Rukia, let's have a deal."
"What deal?" she asked, trying to strengthen her voice.
Renji smirked evilly.
…
Ichigo felt his phone vibrate from his pocket. He was on his way to Rukia's house. He stopped running and looked at it. He saw his cousin's name.
"Toushirou?" he answered.
"Ichigo nii-chan!" she said in panic that Ichigo didn't like. He suddenly got nervous. "Momo?"
"Nii-chan! Save my sister! Please!"
Ichigo's eyes widened. "What? What happened?"
"Renji might kill her! Please!"
He bit his lip. What was the meaning of this? What was happening?
"Where are you?" he asked as he ran.
"In Renji's condominium, Chou street."
"I'm on my way."
"Please hurry!"
"I will. Just stay where you are, Momo!"
He hang up and ran to the place where they might be in danger. He forced his legs to run faster. He was worried about the three of them. Especially Rukia.
Rukia… please be safe… I'm coming for you!
…
"Now Rukia, let's have a deal."
"What deal?" she asked, trying to strengthen her voice.
Renji smirked evilly.
"Come with me… and I won't ever hurt your Ichigo."
Rukia bit her lip. "And what if I refuse?"
"I'll kill you right here and then, send your body to him."
She glared at him. "You're insane."
"Maybe I am… and it's all your fault."
Rukia hated begging but in this case, that was all she can do. "Please Renji, stop this. You're a good person. I can't believe you can kill me."
"You don't?" Rukia nodded. "What if I do this?" He shot her right leg and she stopped herself from screaming in pain.
"Now, do you believe that I can really kill you?"
She glared at him with tears in her eyes. Renji laughed at her predicament.
"You know," he sat down on her level and touched her cheeks. "You're beautiful and strong… that's why I love you, Rukia."
Rukia could taste the blood in her lips. The tears from the pain of her wounds streamed down her cheeks.
"I hate you." She said with gritted teeth.
"Oh, thank you." He replied with a smirk.
Suddenly, the door burst open, revealing Toushirou, who was running towards Rukia. "Nee-san!"
"Toushirou, why did you return?!"
He sat down next to her and inspected her wounds. "Don't worry. Momo called for help. I know Ichigo nii-chan is on his way here now."
"Ichigo?"
Renji laughed. "Really? Can he still believe you after what he saw last night?"
"What did you do to me last night?" she asked. She had to know the truth.
"Okay, you're going to be killed here so I think you deserve to know for the last time." He was still pointing the gun towards them in case they do something.
"When you went to the washroom, I mixed a medicine in your juice. It can make you drunk for a few minutes after drinking it. It has the same effects as a normal liquor. That was the reason why you couldn't remember anything. Also, Inoue Orihime lured Kurosaki Ichigo so that he would see what we want him to see."
"You… kissing me?"
"Yes, that's right! Isn't our plan great?"
Toushirou glared at him. Our speculation is right after all… he thought to himself.
"Renji, listen. Even if you kill me… you won't still get what you want." Rukia tried to reason.
"No, if you won't be mine. Might as well kill you so that no one will have you."
Nii-chan… where are you? Toushirou thought desperately as the gun pointed at them.
"I'm sad to see you go like this but… goodbye… Rukia." The gun was readied to shot them. She closed her eyes and his smiling face was what she saw.
Ichigo… I love you… so much.
Because of her thoughts, she didn't hear the bursting of the door for the second time. The gun was shot but she didn't feel anything aside from her earlier wounds. She opened her eyes and saw him standing in front of her and his cousin. Gun in hand and was pointing it towards Renji.
How did that happen?
"Nee-san, Ichigo nii saved us. He caught him off guard and punched him on the face, so he managed to steal the gun." Toushirou explained to her with a smile.
Ichigo… you're here… thank you… she thought with a smile.
"Renji… you won't get away with this. The police are already coming here. Just surrender." He said with a glare. "I won't forgive you for doing this."
The red haired chuckled darkly. "I'm not asking for it." He walked towards the door.
"Where are you going?"
Renji smirked at him. "You win now, Ichigo. But remember this… I will return to steal her from you. As long as I'm alive. You won't be happy." With that, he left.
Ichigo placed down the gun and kneeled in front of Rukia. His amber filled with worry. "Are you alright?"
"Nii-san, she was shot. We have to bring her to the hospital."
"Momo already called for an ambulance." Ichigo said. "Toushirou, go to her. She's worried."
"Okay."
With the two of them left alone, Ichigo carried Rukia bridal style as she gripped her wound on her waist. She stared at him.
There was silence between them as he walked down the stairs carefully to avoid her wound from getting hurt.
"I'm sorry." He broke the silence with these words. Rukia stared at him. She smiled painfully. "It's not your fault."
"But… I didn't believe in you."
"It's okay. As long as you do now." She replied with heavy breath.
He gripped her tightly in his arms. "I love you." He whispered as he neared the ambulance waiting.
Rukia smiled as her eyes closed. "I love you too."
She was brought to the nearest hospital with Momo, Toushirou and Ichigo by her side.
…
"Renji, what happened?"
"The plan is ruined!"
"Why?!"
"They already knew what happened. I'm going back to states for now. You should do the same."
"You're such a… arrgh!"
"There's nothing we can do about it. Let's just lay down for a while."
"There's still chance to break them up. I'll just follow your advice for now."
"Let's meet next time then."
"Yeah. Bye."
