Rose

I didn't get to work on the Dhampir case. In fact, it looked like Martin – my boss - was trying to pin the murders on some innocent person or at least, the police was and he was trying to get him convicted. Now, it was being pinned on two innocent people. I was allowed to go to the court proceedings which lasted days – the prosecution was ruthless – Martin was ruthless. I was trying to take notes for either sides of the argument but it was impossible. I had to stop so I could watch what was going on – basically very bad police / legal team corruption.

I was stuck filing papers, sending emails but I didn't mind – it allowed me to listen in on John's conversations, basically spy on him. My unease continued to grow and didn't lessen at all, not even when Dimitri came to visit. It was going to be even harder for him to visit frequently with the move to St Vlad's. I was excited to see Aly – to give her a hug, to give her a kiss.

That night, Dimitri and I put Aly to bed after we made dinner and let her watch some TV. Dimitri left before the end of the story but still gave her a kiss. I finished her story and gave her an extra-long hug and kiss. I gave her another smile as I saw her eyes drop as she struggled to keep them open. She went to sleep with a smile on her face.

I closer her door slightly before I made my way down into the living room. Dimitri was sitting on the sofa, two mugs of hot chocolate in his hands. I smiled, took one from his hands and sat down. Dimitri set his cup down and opened his arms. I put my cup beside his and lay into his arms with a smile.

"Is everything okay?" I sighed and moved closer to him, wrapping my arms around his neck and sighing. Dimitri tightened his arms around me.

"I don't know." I snuggled closer to him. "Martin was pinning the murders on this poor guy- It was awful!" Dimitri sighed.

"And you don't think it was the right guy?" I shook my head. "Are you still having a bad feeling?" I nodded.

"It's just so strange. John is always there – I never go ten minutes without seeing him. He hasn't done anything strange – he just keeps asking very specific questions about my life."

"And you don't think it's a common crush?" I moved to look at Dimitri, shook my head, grabbed my cup and handed him his. He took his and got more comfortable on the sofa.

"No. He keeps asking me where I'm from, where I went to school – what subjects I did in school-" I cut myself off and took a drink. "It's like I'm being interrogated."

"I could go in there you know – Get him to back off." I shook my head, finished my drink and put it on the table. Dimitri handed me his empty cup.

"I don't need my big scary Russian boyfriend going in to fight my battles." I laughed. Dimitri smiled and grabbed my waist, pulling me closer.

"No, you defiantly do not." I leaned close and rested my lips against his for a long second, moving to straddle his waist. He pulled away. "But when someone is out there trying to kill you-"

"Dimitri- Please just kiss me."

I woke up the next morning, cuddling closely to warm wall with hands stroking my hair. I sighed happily, snuggling closer to Dimitri with a smile. Dimitri got up, put his discarded pajamas back on.

"Come back to bed." I whispered, burying my head in his pillow. I felt the bed dip as Dimitri got back in. I smiled, and moved closer to him, my eyes still closed. Dimitri ran his hand up and down my bare back, making small circles as there was another, smaller dip at the bottom of the bed.

"Morning Mommy!" Aly jumped down onto Dimitri's lap. Dimitri smiled, wrapping his arm around Aly and wrapping the other around me.

"Morning baby." Aly jumped at me, wrapping her arms around my neck. I sighed and wrapped my arms around her tightly kissing every inch of her face as Aly giggled. Dimitri laughed.

"Come on, princess. Let Mommy-" He hesitated. "Get dressed." He winked at me grabbed Aly quickly, running out the door, dodging the pillow I threw after him. I made sure Aly and Dimitri were down the stairs before I got out of bed and went in the bathroom. I had a shower and scrubbed my hair before getting dressed and drying my hair.

I walked into the kitchen, following the sweet smell of pancakes. Aly was already digging into hers as Dimitri ut a plate in front of me. I smiled a thanks and took a bite.

"I love you so much." Dimitri laughed grabbing his own plate.

"Who? Me, Aly or the pancakes?"

"All." Dimitri laughed shaking his head. "How about the park today?" Aly nodded enthusiastically, pulling me towards her bedroom and picking out some clothes. I smiled as she dressed herself and handed me her hairbrush to put her hair into two pigtails. Dimitri stood in the doorway, leaning against the frame with a smile. He looked amazing standing there and all he was wearing was a plain white t-shirt and jeans.

"See something you like?" He crinkled my nose at him as he used my words from so many years ago. He gave me a smile. "Are my two favorite girls ready?" Aly nodded and bounced off the bed. I smiled and got up running back into my room to pick up my shoes and I met them both at the door. Dimitri stretched out his hand behind him. I jogged a bit to grab it and closed the door with a slam.

"At least it's a nice day." I looked up at Dimitri and squinted as the sun glared in my eyes. Dimitri laughed and kissed my forehead. We walked slowly, hand in hand as Aly ran ahead giggling and looking back to make sure we were still there.

I made the decision to block out my bond with Aly to give her thoughts some privacy. Dimitri and I agreed that if we needed to use the bond we would - but only if she decided to be anything like me when I was teenager.

I took my hand from Dimitri's and snaked it up and around his arm. Dimitri looked down at me with a beaming smile.

"Is it safe-"

"Dimitri - enjoy the time with your daughter and girlfriend please." He smiled at me.

"I'm going to make you my wife someday." I looked up at him.

"Someday?" He nodded.

"We need to learn how to be boyfriend and girlfriend again before we become husband and wife." I smiled and looked up at him.

"I love you, you know that right?" He looked down and nodded.

"I love you too."

"Mommy! Daddy!" Dimitri and I both turned as Aly called for us. We had made it to the outskirts of the park and Aly spotted the playground. I nodded before she sprinted off. Dimitri jerked his head towards the shop and I nodded walking after Aly. I sat down at a bench where I had could Aly as she ran around the playground. I smiled at her.

"Fancy seeing you here?" I looked to my right to see John sitting down on the bench next to me. I nodded a greeting at him. "Your daughters here to visit right?"

"Yes." I was hesitant. I had not told anyone that Dimitri and Aly were coming to visit. I leaned back on the bench and smiled as Aly called for me.

"I don't see your boyfriend."

"He's just getting something in the store." John nodded.

"Is he from your school?"

"Kinda." Aly ran up to me.

"Mommy! I wanna go up there." I looked at where she was pointing and shook my head.

"No - it's too dangerous." He looked at me and pouted. "No." She sulked off towards the park but perked up as she started to play with some other kids.

"She's very cute." I looked over at him before looking away.

"What are you doing in these parts?" I know he doesn't have any family in this area, he doesn't have a girlfriend, boyfriend or kids. There was no reason for him to be walked around a park

"Oh, you know, just out for a walk." I looked over at him. A shadow cast over us. I saw John's eye travel up. A bottle of water was placed into my hands and a kiss planted on my cheek.

"Dimitri. Rose's boyfriend." John let his eyes look Dimitri up and down. Dimitri cleared his throat. "Aly - come on time to go!" Dimitri called. I watched as Aly came over, a frown on her face.

"But Daddy!" Dimitri shook his head and grabbed my hand.

"I'll see you around Rose." I turned and grabbed my bag before following Dimitri. He still had Aly on his arm as we walked away. Aly was sniffling and rubbing her eyes.

"That's the guy you were telling me about?" I nodded. "You're right – I get a bad feeling about him. I was watching him – there was something off about the way he was talking to you." He turned and gave Aly a kiss. "We'll come back later, malyshka." He promised.

"There's something about him." I agreed. Dimitri put Aly down and she grabbed a hold of my hand and Dimitri's.

"How about a second breakfast?" I smiled up at him and nodded. We made our way to a little café ordered some drinks and something small. I wiped some sauces from Aly's face as she dipped her chips into ketchup.

"Do you have to be around him?" Dimitri asked. I swiped a chip from Aly and took a bite.

"I don't have to – be he's always there." I sighed. "Everywhere I look – he's there."

"Roza, are you sure you won't come home?" I shook my head.

"There's still a murderer out there. Someone that could be coming after our daughter – I'm not leaving until I solve this." Dimitri smiled.

"That's my Roza." I smiled at him and squeezed his hand.

After Aly finished her chips, we went to the store, bought some drinks and fruit before going back to the park around noon. Dimitri and I sat on the grass together watching our daughter as she ran around in a happy bubble giggling to herself.

"We did make a beautiful child." Dimitri smiled proudly as she waved at Aly as she called us before running off. I looked over at him.

"We can make more." He looked over at me. "You know, once all this crazy has-" Dimitri cut me off capturing my lips with his. He pulled back with a big smile on his face. "You won't be smiling later. Going by being pregnant on Aly – I was a demon!" Dimitri laughed.

"I wouldn't care." I smiled at him.

"You will – How many do you want? Kids I mean?" Dimitri looked over at me. "I mean, we didn't think it could happen naturally so we never talked about it."

"Roza, I'll want as many children as you can give me." I rolled my eyes. "Hey - I come from a big family." I laughed.

"Well, do you want a boy or a girl?" I looked over at Aly. "You already have a daughter." He laughed.

"I'll want whatever our baby will be." I laughed at him, pushing his arm.

"Oh! I forgot!" I opened my bag and smiled. I rooted out rooted out piece of paper. "I went back to Sally and Tim's last week." Dimitri took the paper from my hands. "I managed to change Aly's last name." iece of paper. "I went back to Sally and Tim's last week." Dimitri

"Hathaway-Belikova?"

"Hey - I pushed her out." Dimitri laughed and hugged me.

"Thank you."

"I love you."
