Three hundred and twenty years have passed since the coven sank in the dark. A hunter who waits for his prey. The footprints. Endless darkness. The child of darkness still wishes to see tomorrow.
Having powers was forbidden, one a witch's powers manifested they would be hunted until they were all eliminated. Sakura was around fifteen when hers finally showed, she was thrown out of the house, she been on the run ever since. She finally ended up in a village called Konoha, she took a risk coming here but she was running out of places to hide. She checked in to a run-down hotel on the edge of town, the room smelled, there were bugs in the bed, and stains on the floor.
She shook her head; she didn't even want to set her bag down. She turned and walked back outside, the sun was setting and there was storm rolling in. She found a little convince store that was open, she grabbed a few things and walked back towards her crappy hotel room.
"I might find somewhere else to stay tonight." She mumbled standing in front of her door, she sighed and reached to open it.
Sakura had a unique power, she had the power to heal any wounds and cure any disease, the only draw back to her power was that she couldn't heal herself. While her power was great it also made her a sitting duck, she learned how to use a craft, she could control water and ice like it was nothing. When it rained, she was at her strongest, she hated the dry months, it made it harder for her to get away.
She kept to herself, only bought what she could carry and worked odd jobs to make a little money so she could move to the next town. She flipped on the tv, surfing the channels until she landed on the local news.
"A string of home burglaries are now being connected with the four homicides, the police are now working with the hunters to establish if they are witch related or not." The anchor woman looked at her co star as he took over.
"Police are urging everyone to vigilant and report any suspicious behavior at once."
The camera panned showing two hunters talking to the police chief, his hair was silver, his face hidden by a mask. The hunters were dressed in black, they looked like normal high school students, hoodies and jeans, black baseball caps to hide their faces.
She had heard rumors about the duo, they were a real-life balance between light and dark, the were on their way to becoming top hunters. Sasuke Uchiha, the prince of darkness, his family was slaughtered by a coven a few years back. He was taken in by the Uzumaki's, the second strongest clan in the village if not the nation. Naruto and Sasuke were raised side by side, they're bond ran deep, making them almost impossible to anticipate, she was on the top of her list of people to avoid.
The next morning Sakura ventured further in, finding a nicer hotel she checked, dropped her bag on the clean floor she went straight for the bathroom. Leaving her hair downs, he opted for a simple black t-shirt and jean shorts and a pair of simple shoes, she left to get a few things to eat and some more supplies.
The wind started to pick up, people on the street began closing windows and doors as the rain started to sprinkle down. She smiled, she loved the rain, she always felt comfortable. She lived in the moutians over the Rain village, it was always wet and cold, she was immune to them at this point. People would always stare and point from the windows when she would walk down the street without an umbrella or coat.
-flashback-
"Sakura, I need you to go to town for me. Hers a list of things we need." A tall woman, with long black hair and a elfish face handed her a little piece of paper and some money.
She lived a few miles from the village, she had to go through infested rivers, and down a slippery rock path to get there, but each time was easier.
-end-
She missed her mentor from time to time, it had been a few years since she went up and saw her. They had a fight right before she left and she hasn't gone back sine then, not a day went by that she didn't feel guilty about it.
She walked for what felt like ever as cars and trucks sped past her, she looked around after coming to from her thoughts, and found herself in a neighborhood.
"Now how did I do this?" she mumbled, readjusting her bag she turned around to go back the way she came.
SMASH.
Glass breaking caught her attention, she shook her head and kept walking, interfering will only get me killed.
She wasn't a fighter, she kept a low profile, avoided any and every conflict that came her way "HELP ME PLEASE!"
She stopped, their concrete barrier kept her from seeing what was really happening, touching the wall she send a pulse a through the barrier and through the whole property. There were four men inside, all surrounding a woman on the floor; she clenched fist and dropped her bags. The poor woman was pregnant, she climbed over the side, sending another pulse three of them were moving slowly through the house looking for anything of value.
Sneaking in through the front door, she was like a bat, she didn't move out sending out a pulse of magic into the floor telling her where everyone was. It was small, and quick, almost untraceable. She made it to the room, the fourth man had started to help with the looting, she slowly closed the door and locked it. Sliding down she stopped next to the woman, her long red hair was mixed with the blood that pooled around her, she looked around for something to stop the bleeding but she knew she was going to have to use her power; and when she did everyone would know she as here.
Her hands glowed yellow, she touched her cheek and the injuries on her body glowed yellow until they healed completely. Her hands shook, the footsteps in the house all rushed towards her, the door didn't hold them long. She grabbed the heavy woman and slipped out of patio door, she pulled the woman to her feet, her green dress was stained with blood; but she was no longer losing any.
She regained consciousness, she opened her eyes and looked around, "Can you run?"
She looked up at the pink haired girl, her green eyes showed everything she was feeling, her hand was on the wet ground, she nodded and stood up with a little help, "I'm going to help you over the wall and then I want you to run. I'll keep them here, go get help."
Without another work Sakura used the rainwater around to help lift the red head over the wall, her tiny bump showing as she wrapped her around it and ran. Why did I do this?!
She slipped into the koi pond, she took a deep breath and hid under the lily pads; thanks to her craft she could hold her breath longer than most.
"She's a witch and a craft user?!"
"Be careful, she's out here hiding somewhere."
Kushina ran to the closest store, she dialed her husbands' number as fast as she could, she waited a few minutes before three men walked through the door, two blondes and one with hair the color of a raven.
"Mom?!" Naruto rushed forwards, she calmed him down with a small pat.
"I'm okay, someone helped me get away." She looked at her husband, her eyes watered, "You have to go back and help her. Four people broke into our house, I don't know where she came from but a girl with long pink hair came in, she healed my injuries and helped me get over the wall. She's still there."
They all looked at her, her dress was covered in blood but there were no marks on her, "How did sh- "
"She's a witch." Sasuke said it first.
"She's a good one, she's a craft user too." Kushina walked over to Sasuke, she placed a hand on his cheek, she knew he didn't care for witches and would never go out of his way to save one, "She saved my life, I don't see why we cant help just one."
"There's witches fighting on the street!" a crowd of people rushed into the little store.
"I guess we don't have to go too far." Naruto bounced outside, with Sasuke right behind him.
"You know you're only leaving yourself wide open when you defend these little no bodies. You have the powers of a witch; they don't care about you!" Another blast of hot air knocked her back, she rolled and landed back on her feet.
"They don't have too, that doesn't mean I would wish harm on anyone." She fell to her knees, she was tired, her hand was bleeding from a knife wound making it harder for her to fight back.
"You're one of those goodie two shoes are you?" the man laughed landing in front of her, he grabbed her shirt and pulled her to her feet, "The ones who think you're better than everyone else around because you have one of the grand witches powers. Fuck your bloodline, it means nothing when I'm stronger than you!"
"Madness." She whispered as she shot up, placing both hands on the side of his head they glowed again, "Free this mind, free it from the prisons of hell, darkness has no power here only I do!"
The man fell to his knees, holding his head, "The darkness, it's gone."
They stood in front of her, blood dripped from her hand down on the ground, panting she looked at them. She knew who they were, and they knew what she was, there was only one outcome, she looked around at everyone recording the fight with their phones. Naruto moved first, throwing her to the ground, he cuffed her hands and pulled her to her feet and started walking away.
"Go along with it." He whispered, she looked up at him trying to hide the shocked look on her face as they walked down the street.
Sasuke walked behind them, her shirt was torn, everything was covered with mud, he stopped at her bleeding hand then remembered what Kushina told him, "The red head you saved, she said you healed her injuries, why haven't you healed your own?"
She stopped, and looked back at him with a sad smile, "I cant heal my own wounds, I come from a long line of powerful witches, I have what they would call a holy power but with it comes a drawback; I can heal or cure anything but I cant heal myself."
They uncuffed her hands once they were far enough away, she felt arms wrap around her as the red head cried, "Oh thank you!"
"Thank you, for saving my wife." The other blonde patted her on the head. Her face started to turn red, she wasn't used to anything like this.
"N-No problem." She looked at the happy couple and smiled.
"My name is Kushina, this is Minato, that over there and Naruto and the one pouting over there is Sasuke." She waved dumbly.
"Um, nice to meet you?"
"I think we're making her nervous." Kushina looked at her, she was stiff, her eyes always stay focused on Sasuke and Naruto as they talks, she wouldn't let them stand behind her. She was tired, her hand hurt and so did the rest of her body. The rain was still falling, but softer now.
"Come stay with us for the night, it's better than a holding cell and then we can escort you to the Hokage in the morning, seeing how you saved her granddaughter; she might show you some mercy." She relaxed her shoulders just a little bit, "I would let you go but with video evidence I can't or I'll put my family in dang-"
"I understand, thank you for the chance." She smiled sadly, the rain washing away some of the mud as she looked up, she knew she could run, she knew she could get away, but she was tired of running.
