"I felt like I should thank my savior in a better way besides the usual 'thank you'." Leon explained when Frey welcomed him into her room. "And that better way is...?" She wondered out loud, looking into her mirror and fixing up her hair into her two usual ponytails.
"Well, whatever you'd like, Earthmate." The Guardian shrugged, sitting on one of her chairs. "By the way, would you rather have me call you that or by your actual name?" He asked, observing Frey as she twisted her hair into the butterfly bands. "I like my name better." She began. "And about your thanks, I don't really know what I want from you, Leon. I'm fine with the usual 'thank you'."
The princess turned to face him when she finished her hair. Leon humphed and looked around the room. He then smiled at Frey. "Maybe we can spend some time together? A little date at the restaurant that horse kid works at?" He suggested.
The Earthmate looked at him, somewhat shocked. "A date already? Jeez, at least get to know me first!" She joked, a slight red tint coming to her cheeks. "Exactly, we can get to know each other while we eat." The foxman grinned, glad to amuse Frey.
"And 'horse kid'?" The Earthmate questioned his nickname for Dylas. "You do know that he's a Guardian like you, right? Or maybe you didn't get to meet him yet?" Leon sat back in his seat. "You see, he doesn't really exude any Guardian energy like Butterfly or Mannequin do." He defended himself with a shrug. "If he did, he wouldn't get that bad of a nickname." Frey shook her head.
"Well, what if I gave you one, Foxy?" She asked, sitting in the seat across from his. "Hah, you say that like it's bad." Leon chuckled, leaning forward. Frey rolled her eyes with a small smile. "Whatever. So, when did you want us to have this date?" Leon mulled it over a bit. "Hmm, how about Thursday? It's 2 days from now and you'll have plenty time to prepare."
The princess giggled. "I don't need that much time to get ready for a date, you know." She retorted. "Oh, how would you know? Have you already been on one? Got a little boyfriend for yourself to go on dates with?" Leon teased, letting out whinnies and acting like a horse. This made Frey laugh. "Not nice, Leon. And no, we're not dating. We're just close friends. I'm not interested in dating, either." She stood up.
Leon watched in wonder.
Maybe I can make her interested in dating.
"Anyways, I gotta go take care of my monsters. I almost just got up and they're probably worried about me." Frey explained, dusting off the bottom of her nightgown. "I would also like to change, so shoo, Leon!" She pulled him up from the seat he sat on and playfully shooed him towards her door.
He chuckled in response as she pushed him. "Alright, alright, Earthmate! The date is on for Thursday, right?" He asked, standing outside her doorway. "Yes it is, Foxy. I'll see you then."
She waved him off and he waved back, giving her a small wink as he left the castlegrounds area.
After making sure there would be no more people knocking on her door, Frey walked towards her closet and opened it. She then took out the simple outfit she used for farming and caring for monsters, some green capris and a white tank top. She slipped into some brown farming boots and headed to her farm behind the castle.
The farming princess owned two monster barns, her farming equipment and seeds on a rack inside of one of the barns.
Frey looked around the farm area to see that it was well taken care of, just as her butlers promised it would be while she was off rescuing Ventuswill.
"Princess!" She heard Vishnal, one of her butlers call. He was making his rounds and recognized her, not having seen her since she left on her mission. The princess looked his way and grinned as he ran towards her with his arms outstretched. She prepared herself by bringing out her arms as well.
"Oh, I've missed you so much, princess!" Vishnal gave a tight hug and Frey tightly hugged in return. "I've missed you the same, Vishnal." She smiled, rubbing his back. "How has everything been with me gone?" She asked when he continued to hold her in a lighter embrace.
"Volkanon, Clorica and I did our absolute best at making sure your crops and monsters were perfectly taken care of." He assured her. At hearing the mention of his name, the leading butler ran towards Frey with tears in his eyes. "Princess!" He cried. "We've missed you so much!"
The princess gasped from large butler's bear hug which seemed to engulf Vishnal as well, squishing him against her. "I...missed you very much too, Volkanon. I need...some space." Volkanon then quickly let go of the two happily. "I made sure that Vishnal and Clorica worked as hard as they could on your farm, my princess!" He bowed, signaling to the flourishing crops that were ready to be harvested.
"I can see that!" Frey beamed. "I appreciate you butlers very much." She bowed back and gave Vishnal a kiss on the forehead, signaling Volkanon to bend down a bit to give him one as well.
After she gave them their morning head kisses, they waved her goodbye as they returned to their butler duties. Frey cracked the knuckles on both of her hands and got ready to work. She walked to her fields and got out a basket, plucking and pulling out each ripe fruit and vegetable from their stems and stalks. The flowers she planted would be gently plucked out and given to the villagers that liked them.
The farmer then headed into her monster barns, promptly getting lovingly tackled by every monster she owned.
