"It sure sounded like you were." Frey commented.

"I think it was more of me genuinely wondering how someone more mature than you was not picked to reign Selphia." Leon teased in his smooth voice.

"Well, I hope you know that wondering won't change who's reigning now, Foxy." The princess began with a smirk. "The decision was made and everyone likes their ruler. At least I hope they do." She said with a nervous giggle.

"I'd hope so too." The Foxman started. "You'd classify as a tyrant if you weren't appreciated here." He joked. "Wouldn't want to be living under one of those."

"Definitely not." She muttered and turned back towards the request box. "I was looking through some requests to see if I could finish any real quickly before getting ready for the date." The farmer explained.

"Getting as much gold as you can?" Leon asked.

"Of course. I use my gold for seeds, then earn it from selling the grown plants. It's a cycle." She said, reaching into the box again. "And it's nice to make the townspeople here happy." The princess ended with a smile.

"Ah, we've got a real goody-two-shoes in town." Leon chuckled.

"It's like you said, I'd be a tyrant if I weren't, right?" She smiled, rolling her eyes at his teasing.

The dragon priest let out a "hm" with a nod, pleased at her bringing up his past words.

"I'll see you later at the restaurant, Leon. I've got some work to do." The princess told him as she looked down and read some of the requests on the slips of paper she held.

"Of course, tyrannical Earthmate. I'll see you at our date, then." He bid her farewell with a wave as he walked off, fishing pole in hand.

She watched with a pout as he left.

I know he wouldn't be so good of a ruler himself. He'd probably-

Frey's thoughts were interrupted when the request box made a sound as if to clear its throat.

"Eliza, you don't have a throat to clear." The farmer said with a giggle.

"You're having some strange thoughts about that guy, aren't you, Frey?" The box asked, changing the subject.

"No, I'm not!" The princess defended herself.

"Or were you about to?" Eliza teased.

This caused Frey to go silent.

"Get rid of 5 buffamoo, got it!" Were the only words she said as she ran off into the shopping district.

Finally managed to get away from her...She really likes getting in my business doesn't she?

Frey took some time to breathe and then looked up to see Doug looking at her from behind a counter, his brows furrowed in confusion.

"What're ya runnin' away from?" The ginger elf asked.

The princess was surprised to see him and looked around to realize that she had unknowingly ran into the general store to get away from talking to Eliza.

"Oh, uh, I wasn't trying to come inside..." She mumbled.

Doug's eyebrows only furrowed deeper as he let out a "Huh?".

"Um, sorry! I'll look around a bit, I guess." Frey apologized and briskly walked into an aisle where she couldn't be seen by anyone.

He probably thinks I'm crazy...

"Seeds! Here we go." She said to herself, grabbing a nearby shopping basket and throwing some seed bags inside.

She then headed back towards the counter where Doug stood.

"Sup?" The elf greeted as he watched Frey place the seed bags onto the counter.

"Not much." She replied, watching him ring up the prices. "Growing crops and working hard, the usual."

He nodded.

"Gotcha." The Ginger replied. "That's gonna be 1,000 Gold."

Frey nodded, looking into her wallet and taking out the needed Gold.

"That jackass get to see you yet?" Doug asked with a sudden angry tone as he counted the gold.

"Dylas? Yeah, he was the first to come see me the day after I returned." Frey replied, slightly amused by his change in tone and expression.

"Oh, thank God." He said with a relieved sigh.

This confused her.

He knows that makes Dylas happy, though...

"Nobody would shut up about him!" The elf groaned. "Everywhere, it's 'aww poor Dylas!' 'He's so lonely without Frey!' 'Aww, he must miss her so much!'" He continued to mock some of the townspeople with high pitched voices of varying degrees as he rolled his eyes.

Frey let out a giggle at the mocking. "That's what everyone's been telling me. I feel horrible for you, Doug, I really do." She said with a smile, patting him on the shoulder.

"It's not too bad, it's just that hearing the name of someone you hate a bunch of times gets real annoying at some point. The fact that they were all so concerned for him, too." Doug crossed his arms after handing back her change and putting the basket back into its spot.

"Well, you should be fine now at least." Frey began. "Now that I'm back home, he shouldn't be upset anymore. At least I hope he won't be. I think I would've liked to see how sad he was, though. Must have been that bad, huh..." She rambled on, putting the seeds and her wallet into her bag.

The elf shrugged. "I mean, I was happy to see him not happy about something. Even I felt a little bad for him, though. But like you said, you're here now. That better fix him up." He sat back into his seat.

"It should!" Frey agreed with a nod. "Anyways, I'll see you later. I have some requests to finish. Tell Blossom I said hi!" She waved goodbye.

"Gotcha, see ya." Doug replied and waved back as the princess left the store.

Alright, now for those buffamoo...

Frey headed over towards the castle and into her room to put on the armor she'd wear when exploring and defeating monsters. Despite her thin and weak appearance, she was actually quite a strong woman. She loved to train and battle others, often going on runs with Forte.
