Chapter 3: A Cool Misunderstanding
POV Dennis
Dennis was sure this was karma. Trapped in his own time stopped underwear was humbling for the teenaged boy. Dennis was all for calling it a misunderstanding. What else could it have been?
Dennis was all for being cool and famous. It was not the most important part of him joining Wards. But it was in the top 3. And that was why he had to go on and declare Clockblocker as his name. Even when he was strictly advised against it. Though even that faded in front of Coolness that was Hebert.
Recently, Glenn Chambers had come to Brockton bay to make sure the Hebert joined wards. Apparently, She was gaining a good following for her cool moves and fabulous looks. Thinker reports suggested that she was fast gaining a better following than even major stars and heroes. Dennis was sure he was jealous.
So, When Armsmaster was the first one to meet her, everyone was sure nothing good can come out of this. Which was nothing against Armsmaster. He was a guy who took his duty as protectorate hero seriously. The problem was that he was serious all the time. So when it was found that his first meeting with Hebert had gone well, It caused a bit of a shock to everyone. Armsmaster had approved her heroics and found her methods humorous. Dennis didn't even knew Armsmaster could laugh.
It all started with a call from console about a reported mugging near us. So I and Chris changed our route and headed towards the scene. It was one minute's flight on Kid Win's Hoverboard, so Dennis hopped up on it and they reached the scene quickly.
It was a simple mugging where the guy in a suit was struggling and the muggers were trying to get the suitcase in his hands. Kid Win brought his hoverboard near to the muggers and Clockblocker tagged the two muggers.
Dennis regretted it immediately. His freezing of the muggers had caused the Guy in the suit to trapped in between the two muggers.
Kid Win sighed and unhinged me so that I could step down from the hoverboard and help the man. Apparently, the man has somehow got tangled with the straps of his suitcase. Thankfully he knew we were heroes and let us help him to get untangled. Which is when everything when wrong.
"What are you doing here?", a loud voice came. I turned to watch who it was and found it to be Cool Hebert. She was looking so fabulous. He was immediately entranced. Which caused him to choke the poor bloke he was helping.
He didn't have time to correct his mistake. Hebert was on him even before he could blink. She was fast and trained. Dennis thanked the gods that Armsmaster was such a good taskmaster. Dennis wondered where Kid Win was? Later he found that Kid Win had inspiration from his fight and had started typing it out in his mobile.
Within seconds Dennis found an opening when Hebert threw a roundhouse kick and he used it to touch Hebert. At least that was the plan. How part of his own underwear ended up in his palm he will never know but it was frozen and he was trapped. His underwear was out for everyone to see it in Clocky Glory. Dennis was ashamed to be his own fanboy. He remembered the earth Aleph cartoon name The Mask where the protagonist had a habit of putting his enemies underwear on their heads.
"I thought you were supposed to be a hero", Hebert asked. She sounded bored.
"Yes, We are! I was just helping this guy trapped in straps of his own bag!", Dennis Replied. The guy was nodding."Why were fighting me?"
"So you weren't mugging him?"
"No!"
"I am sorry then. For this transgression would you accept my offer for Ice cream tomorrow?", Hebert asked.
Dennis first thought was to reject her immediately but he remembered Glenn Chambers and stopped himself. "Okay", He Replied.
And that's how Dennis ended up being the boyfriend of the coolest women in the world.
