Next day

"Morning," Steve said, walking into base the next morning as it was his first day back at work after his paperwork was pushed through rather quickly overnight.

"Morning, great to have you back on the team," Mike smiled, shaking his hand as he leaned on his desk as they waited for Jo to grace them with her presence.

"Morning, sorry I'm late. Traffic was hell this morning," she said rushing through the door and straight into the locker rooms to put her bag away.

"Jo Mathieson late. That's a change," Steve joked, as she walked back out carrying her jacket in one hand. Little did they know that she got up early every morning just to make the one hour drive from her property out in Austral to All Saints every day.

"Bite me Steve," she retorted, going out to the treadmill and she began to run on it.

"Still the same old Jo I see," he said, sitting on the couch as they watched her outside.

"Still the same old couch potato," she said looking over at him and grinning.

Operations to MRU

"MRU to Operations, what have you got?" Steve said, as he was the closest to the radio.

Car accident...injuries unknown...casualties unknown...

"Copy that Operations," Steve replied standing up and grabbing the medikits as Jo and Nick followed behind, leaving Mike alone in the office.

On scene

"What have we got?" Jo asked, walking up to Bre and following her towards the car that had slammed into the pole.

"Two casualties, mother and daughter. Mother is out on her way to hospital, has a broke leg but we're worried about the daughter. She hasn't woken up and is continously convulsing," Bre informed her as they knelt down next to the unconscious girl laying on a blanket on the ground as her convulsion ended. They rolled her into the recovery position and started a head to toe assessment before her next seizure.

"Epilepsy?" She asked, as they hooked up another bag of fluids and trying to do a survey of the girls other injuries.

"No medical history of epilepsy," Bre said, as they kept a hand on the girl as she went into another seizure.

"Nick can you call ahead to All Saints and get them to prepare theatre. Tell them its a suspected epidural hematoma and a ruptured spleen." Jo said, turning to face him before turning her attention back to her young patient.

"How can you tell?" Steve asked, kneeling down next to her as they loaded her up onto the bed.

"I've seen it before," she simply said as they hurriedly moved towards the ambulance before the next seizure.

"Let's go!" Bre said as she jumped into the back of the ambulance, lights and sirens blaring already to get her to the hospital as soon as possible.

"Here," Jo said throwing Steve the keys as she got into the back of the ambulance to help Bre.

MRU Base

"Where's Jo?" Mike asked, as they boys walked back into base and sat down to fill out the paperwork from that call.

"Down in the ED, helping them stabilize a patient with an epidural hematoma." Steve said, looking up at his boss.

"How did she figure that out?" Mike asked, confusion crossing his face.

"Said she's seen it before," Nick piped up from where he was laying on the lounge with a magazine.

"She is the cat's mother," Jo said, dumping her medikit and taking her jacket off and sitting down to start helping Steve restock the kits.

"What?" He asked, looking at her confused.

"Nevermind, you've obviously never heard the saying before," she said, looking up from the kit she was working on.

"Nope, how's the girl?" Nick asked, changing the subject at he flipped through the magazine.

"In surgery, we got her here quickly so she should make it. I told them to ring me when she got out of surgery," Jo replied, pulling her hair out and retying it into a messy bun something she did when she was nervous or worried.

"She'll be okay. Now who's hungry?" Steve asked, with a sneaky grin coming over his face as he looked around at his co-workers.

"Still same old Steve, your worms moving again?" Mike commented, leaning back in his char as they both left, he turned to look at Jo and asked, "So where have you seen such a case?"

"Was out horseriding with a friend and we weren't wearing helmets which is a dumb idea by the way don't try it. Anyway, her horse reared all of a sudden, she fell and hit her head. Exact signs and symptoms," Jo said, turning to look at him.

"I see, that is why we keep you around," Mike joked as she poked her tongue out at him and laughed.
