Well, and here is another story I haven't updated in 3 years... I'm just gonna keep saying I'm really sorry, BUT we're back with Lilianna and Celeste! I actually really liked writing them and this. It's been a while, but I think I remember where I was going with this. There's a lot of stuff I had in the middle written for this story, but here it is! I also almost forgot who I made Anna the daughter of lmao.
So, enjoy! :)
"That damned cat," the raven haired fifteen year old muttered under her breath as she slipped on her school shoes." I never know where it is. I should've left him home with Mom and Dad."
Celeste sighed with a shake of her head and walked out her dorm room. While heading down the hall, she saw the familiar red headed boy that returned her cat to her the day before talking to two other boys. She still had a few good minutes before she had to head to class and needed time to waste, so messing with him would entertain her until then.
This should be fun, she thought with a slight skip in her step.
She tapped on his shoulder and smirked slightly." Takeshi, was it?"
Takeshi's face went from pleasant to slightly annoyed as he looked at her. He turned to his friends to whisper something before they gave him a small nod and walked away. He turned back to her and stuffed his hands in his pockets." What do you want?" he asked, not even trying hiding the annoyance in voice.
"Since I never got to properly thank you for returning my cat, I just wanted to give you my thanks," Celeste told him in her most innocent voice." I suppose I scared you away earlier."
This caused Takeshi to groan and a slight blush crossed his face." What do want, new girl?" he asked her.
The side of Celeste's mouth slightly twitched in annoyance at the sound of 'new girl', but she composed herself before responding." Ah, I have a name you know. How about you ask for it first?" she told him, taking a slight step closer.
"I know your name," he said, narrowing his eyes.
"Then say it. As far as I know, 'new girl' isn't my name," Celeste smirked slightly.
Takeshi ignored her in favor of asking again," What do you want? You said you didn't thank me properly, so what do you want?"
Celeste deflated and pouted. This was no fun if he didn't even-
I know, she thought mischievously.
Taking a step closer to where she knew she was in his personal space, she cupped his chin and fisted her other hand into his jacket." Hmm, I think a thank-you-kiss would be nice, huh? What do you think?"
A deep red blush crossed Takeshi's face and he sputtered." W-What?! That's- You aren't really- What is wrong with you?!" he asked her, pushing the girl away from him. He quickly threw a hand over his mouth.
Celeste let out a mischievous chuckle and brushed her bangs out of her face." I'd stay to entertain you," she said as she looked at the time on her phone," But I have to go to class. Don't wanna fail when my parents sent me here and expect good results." Damn them for even sending me here without my knowledge.
Takeshi gave her a look mixed with anger, annoyance, and confusion. She knew it was going to be a minute before he composed himself, so she started down the hall." You're cute, by the way," she commented and she smirked at the sputtering sounds he made.
...
Lilianna sighed at her friend's ranting. She would really have to talk to Celeste. It seemd as if the girl liked to cause mischievousness, but it was more like she knew how to do it with her words than physically. She pissed students off and was now pissing the students on her council off. Well, she really didn't piss Anna off, but it left her very disappointed that she failed to make a new friend.
The princess put a comforting hand over Takeshi's hand." Don't let it bother you, Takeshi. She's only been here two weeks. She'll... I'm sure she'll come around. Like I said before, she's in a new environment and she just might be uncomfortable," Lilianna told him.
"Uncomfortable?" Takeshi scoffed in disbelief." She clearly knows what she's doing, princess."
Anna, who was chewing on strawberry pocky, decided to add her two cents." He's right, Lilianna. Celeste might isolate herself from the rest of us, but she's aware of her actions and the thing is that she doesn't care. I mean, she insults the royal family. Who does that?"
Lilianna flinched slightly at that.
"I wouldn't put it past her to insult Prime Minister Ohgi and his family either," Takeshi muttered.
"Which reminds me, where has Fumiko been lately?" Anna asked." She's been absent for a week."
"She's been out taking care of her business with her older brother," Lilianna answered, placing the papers in her hand into the stack with the other papers at her side.
"Doesn't Hayate usually work with their father?"
"Prime Minister Ohgi wasn't available, so he took Fumiko along. She'll be back tomorrow," the princess told Anna with a smile." I don't have anything for you two to do today, so you're free to go. I have a call to make."
Anna headed out while Takeshi stayed at the door." Do you want me to stay behind with you, princess?"
She smiled at him." It's okay. I'll be on my way in a few minutes. I just have something to take care of and I'll be on my way."
"But-"
"I'm fine, Takeshi," she assured him.
He returned his own small smile before bowing slightly and heading out the door.
"Now to deal with Celeste," Lilianna mumbled to herself, opening her phone and dialing the girl's number that she had yet to save in her contacts.
...
"Maybe if you didn't have a bad attitude, you wouldn't already be having to go meet with the student council president," Tatsuya laughed over the phone.
Celeste grumbled into the earpiece she was talking in as she did her homework." I don't have a bad attitude. I just don't want to be at this shithole," she explained." And Princess Goody-Two-Shoes just wants to please everyone. Not my fault the students at this school get pissed off easily."
"Or maybe you just don't realize how much of an asshole you can be," he shot back.
"I'm not- Ugh, you're starting to get on my nerves, too," Celeste growled.
"Am I really? Or are you just pissed off at the princess and your parents?"
"Both."
"How-"
"Hold on, I have an incoming call. I'll call you right back." Celeste switched calls and groaned at the sound of two people bickering on the other end." Dad, why are you calling me? Am I still mad at you? I'm pissed. I hate this place... It's for my- Bye!"
The raven haired girl took her earpiece off and threw it on the table in frustration. She didn't want to be stuck in her dorms tonight. She hadn't really had a chance to explore the whole school, so she might as well as look at the place.
Celeste threw on tights and an over-sized hoodie with black flats before heading out the door. She walked through the quiet halls for a few minutes while humming to herself until she slowed down when she heard the faint sound of music. It almost sounded like... a piano?
She followed the sound, mostly sure that the sound was coming from the music room. Once she arrived at the door, Celeste saw a familiar dark brown haired princess sitting at the piano. She frowned slightly. What's she doing here so late?
She opened the door and the other girl immediately stopped gliding her fingers over the keys of the piano. Her eyes widened and Celeste put a hand up before the girl could get any words out. She chuckled." Don't panic. I don't give a crap if you're out here late, playing the piano, in the dark halls of the school all by yourself, and not at your palace where your supposed to be," she said, closing the door behind her and taking a seat next to the princess." Of course, I wouldn't have minded if you kept playing. I liked the melody."
Lilianna furrowed her eyebrows." I'm staying with the headmistress tonight. Guards were sent from the palace to watch over me," she explained.
"Uh-huh," Celeste answered dismissively." What brings our beautiful princess here tonight?"
Lilianna didn't have to answer Celeste, but she chose to do so anyway." I just... I wanted to play the piano. That's all," she said quietly.
The raven haired girl next to her pressed a key on the piano." It's expected that you know how to play, but do you know 'Red Strings'?" she asked curiously.
"Red... Strings?" Lilianna repeated.
"Red Strings," Celeste said once again and started playing a serene melody on the piano. It was quiet as Lilianna sat and listened to Celeste glide her fingers over the keyboard. She soon finished playing and smirked at Lilianna slightly." That's Red Strings. My father taught it to me. In fact, he taught me how to play the piano."
A sudden small smile crossed Lilianna's face and Celeste rose an eyebrow at her sudden mood change." So you play piano? At least that's one thing I've learned about you," she chuckled softly.
"Let's keep it that way, too," Celeste said.
This made the princess frown slightly." Since you're here, let's talk now."
Celeste scoffed and waved her hand dismissively." Listen-"
"No, you listen." Lilianna was slightly taken aback by her own sterness, but she wasn't going to let her run off when they had the time to talk." Why are you so bitter? Why do you make everyone so mad? Why do you hate it here so much? In fact, I don't even care if you hate it here, but students have been complaining about you, Celeste, and there must be some reason you act like this."
Celeste balled her fist in her lap, knucles turning white." You've never been sent away from home suddenly, have you? I'm stuck here because my parents sent me here. My father use to go to this school, and you know what he said when I asked why they were specfically sending to this school? He said-
"Because it's safe there."
"-And I don't know what the hell that means. I want to go home with my parents where we've been living a quiet life the last fifteen years!" she banged the piano keys with her fist and Lilianna jumped slightly at the sudden action.
Lilianna gave Celeste a sympathetic look and she turned her nose up at it." Don't give me that damn look, Ms. Goody-Two-Shoes. I don't need your stupid sympathy and I especially don't want it from a Britannian princess," she growled while standing up from their seat.
Before Celeste could exit the room, Lilianna spoke," Stop calling me that."
"Ha, and what are you going to do about it?" Celeste asked." Because I'm so scared of you."
"I'm not going to do a thing to you, but I ask kindly for you to stop calling me that. I'm sure your parents taught you some kind of respect and you aren't being very polite right now," Lilianna told her, narrowing her own violet eyes.
"What's it to you?"
"I'm- Ugh," Lilianna muttered as she stood up herself and walked over to Celeste." It's useless arguing with you. Have a good night, Celeste," she greeted and walked past her and out the door.
Lilianna was only a few steps down the hall when Celeste finally decided to speak.
"Goodnight, Princess Lilianna vi Britannia."
"Where have you been, your highness?"
"Zero," Lilianna breathed out." Why-"
"Your majesty sent me."
She frowned at the masked knight standing in the middle of the room she was staying in." She already sent gaurds with me, though."
"It's dangerous for you to be out this late by yourself."
Lilianna ignored him and walked past him to her bed. She sat down on it and removed her headband, letting long brown strands of hair fall down the sides of her face." I'm safe, Zero."
"You went to go find a piano, didn't you?"
"It calms me," Lilianna whispered.
"I know," Zero said softly and placed a comforting hand on top of her head.
She smiled in repsonse.
His touch always made her feel better.
And that's it! Getting interesting, isn't it? Celeste and Lilianna had a bit of bonding time over the piano that didn't go well. They aren't friends yet obviously, but they'll get there eventually. We also see that Celeste likes to mess around with Takeshi, but she enjoys doing that to anyone. Lots of other stuff will also come to light and be explained in time. Anyways, my writing is kind of dusty right now, but that'll be fixed soon and so will the grammar.
