Next oneshot is coming into play. Read. Enjoy. Review!

Okay, just a warning. I didn't want to make Hermione into a Mary Sue. And everyone has their dark side. This, my friends, is hers. You've been warned.

The Fury

The slow clapping had former General Ross turning to see a woman sitting in the guest chair watching him intently. He kept trying to focus on her and her features, but couldn't recall any of them in the least even five seconds later.

"Congratulations," she said sarcastically. "You must be busting your buttons with the pride that your plan worked."

Turning fully to face her, he demanded, "Who are you?"

"It doesn't matter," she replied. "It truly doesn't." Leaning back, she said, "You got Bruce to run, Tony Stark fighting against just about all to the point he no longer has an ally, and the Avengers are pretty much gone."

A smile came to his face. "Yes, I suppose you and your ilk would see this as a bad thing."

"Me and my ilk? And here you were claiming not to know me at all," she murmured.

"This conversation is a joke and you are trespassing! Get out!"

She stood, walking over to him until she was a few feet away from him. "You don't comprehend a thing, do you?" She reached over and dusted his shoulder off, drawling, "You're on my playground now."

He tried to grab her, but she vanished. "My playground, my rules."

He spun around, looking everywhere, but saw no one.

"Where are you?!" he raged.

"Right where I could care less to be." He went still. "In your head."

The walls around him began to melt like colored ice and soon he was screaming at the top of his lungs.

Sweat covered and panting, he lurched awake. Turning on the bedside lamp, he looked everywhere. "Just a dream," he tried to assure himself. "It was just a dream."

The door to his hotel guest room banged open. A large beast of a woman stood there, looking at him. This unto itself was nothing, but she was an unnatural red and looking like she was about to pounce. Soon enough 9-1-1 was called, as the man that they had thought of as solid as the Rock of Gibraltar wouldn't stop screaming about them being monsters, as he fell out of his bed trying to get away from them.

"Sir?" His head snapped around to see a grey man that was even bigger than the female looking at him with harsh black eyes. "Are you okay?" He tried to go closer to Ross, only to have the man scooting away into the corner of the room.

"Daddy? Are you okay? I could hear you screaming from my bedroom…"

"Get away from me!" he yelled, attempting to cover his head with his arms as a way to protect himself from the beast that was claiming to be his daughter.

"Daddy! What's wrong?!" She tried to go to him, but he only curled himself more into himself as best as he could.

His admin joined the Secretary of State's daughter and her husband. He went running over to where he was, but General Ross didn't see him, but rather a gold skinned man with golden eyes—it was an alien that his employer was positive was out to attack him. Thaddeus Ross was still screaming about being surrounded by monsters, as he was being drugged to the gills and dropped into a drugged sleep.

"…And in other news, former General Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross has resigned as Secretary of State. Rumor has it that he suffered from a mental break sometime during the very early morning hours. The hospital in which he was taken to spoke to the President himself—a conversation that was quickly posted to Twitter. This now infamous post ended with, 'Quit or be fired—either is fine with me. I don't want a quack in my cabinet'. So far, no statements have been made by Secretary Ross's camp other than, 'He needs to get his rest. Please let him have some peace.'"

Hermione turned off the television set, smiling to herself. Yes, she thought, maybe Severus and Draco were correct. Perhaps I do have a soul of a Slytherin.

TBC…

(Waving goodbye to the oneshot) There it goes off to the Internet. And it was so young too…(Giggles) Yeah, it's one of those days. Thanks for reading and I hope that you're having a wonderful and healthy staycation (beats calling it a quarantine) wherever that might be.
