The Sniper heard humming coming from the bathroom when he walked past it and stopped in his tracks.
Sheila up and runnin' already?
He looked around for a moment and brought his head closer to the outside of the bathroom door, interested in The Bruiser's humming. The Aussie found her humming voice beautiful and entrancing. He didn't notice it stop along with the sound of the shower before the door opened. He quickly stepped back in surprise, trying to come up with excuses for him being right at the door.
There stood Janine in the doorway, a towel wrapped around her small figure and her wet, fawn hair out of its usual bun and down to her waist. "Oh, hi, Sniper. Did you need something?" She asked, one of her arms on the doorknob and the other over her chest.
"O-oh! Hey, Sheila." He waved quickly, his face red in embarrassment.
"I heard steps stopping by the bathroom and figured somebody had to use it." She explained her reason to end her shower early.
"Ah, it's nothing. I just heard your hummin' and thought it sounded real good." Sniper admitted, taking off his hat and running a hand through his hair.
A smile decorated Janine's face and she blushed. "Aww, thanks so much, Sniper."
"'Welcome." Were the only words he said as he began to focus intently on her face. Some water that kept her hair wet had started to drip onto her face as she looked at him.
"Well, in any ca-" Bruiser started to say, but stopped when she saw one of the Aussie's hands move towards her face to wipe away some waterdrops from it. She allowed this and held onto his arm when he realized what he was doing and tried to pull back.
"Ah, sorry-" He began to apologize, when she shook her head.
"No, that's okay." She reassured him, giving his arm a nuzzle. "You're a sweet man, Sniper. Thank you for being nice to me."
Janine didn't notice the towel on her slowly begin to slip down from her movements, her focus now entirely on Sniper.
He was thankful that his shades hid his shocked eyes and some of his reddening cheeks as he watched her.
The Sheila don't know what she's doin' to me does she...
Just when the towel was about to fall and reveal her body, Sniper managed to bring out his arms to pull it back up. He made sure to face away from her as well.
Janine flinched at the sudden motion and then fixed the towel, blushing madly at what would have happened if Sniper hadn't reacted so quickly.
The two mercenaries looked at each other in silence, both blushing.
"U-uh..." Sniper tried to speak, taking off his hat and fiddling with it nervously.
"It's okay! I'm not mad with you or anything, Sniper." Bruiser assured him. "Thank you so much for doing that. Things would have been a lot worse if you hadn't." She said, giving her towel another pull up over her chest.
"'Course." Sniper said with a quick nod.
"Anyway, it's about time I finish up. Scout's cooking us up some food. I'll see you in a bit, Sniper." Janine said with a nervous smile.
"See ya." Were the only words the Aussie said before he gave her a wave and headed into the living room to sit down.
That Sheila is somethin' else.
Janine gave a quick lookaround and closed the bathroom door, clutching her towel onto her chest.
That almost ended horribly.
"Now I really have to be ready." She told herself as she quickly changed into her tank top and shorts. She then made sure to dry her hair with the towel and headed back out into her and Spy's room.
She assumed he and the others were already sitting at the table as he was nowhere to be seen in the room. When Janine headed over to her suitcase to put her other outfit inside, she saw the folder with her records inside.
Thank goodness it's in there. Maybe I was just rushing too much to see it earlier.
She sighed in relief and headed out of the room.
Janine headed towards the living room and saw the rest of the mercenaries sitting at the table, save for Scout and Pyro, who were preparing the food and drinks.
The Demo piped up at seeing Bruiser and greeted her. "Thar's the lassie!" He said with a grin. "Feeling betta already?" He asked when she took a seat at the table.
She smiled and nodded. "Yeah, I'm feeling great! I'm so glad to have Medic take care of me." Bruiser complimented the doctor, nodding towards him.
Medic smiled at this for a moment, until Scout spoke up.
"Yeah, he betta have taken good care o' ya!" He then mumbled under his breath. "Wouldn't forgive him if he messed up again."
Luckily, nobody heard this.
Sniper rolled his eyes behind his shades and Spy simply let out a "tch."
Janine looked to her side to see Demo already drinking from a bottle. "You'll get full before the food's even done!" She teased. "Think it's alright if you get some bites of food before you get plastered?"
Demo moved the bottle away from his mouth and thought for a moment. He then shrugged and put it back onto the table. "Eh, whateva lassie says goes!" He stated and touched shoulders with her, a proud smile on his face.
Bruiser looked around the rest of the table.
The Soldier had begun a conversation with Demo. Spy and Sniper had started chatting with each other as well.
The Heavy was salivating, intently watching Scout and The Pyro cooking.
Janine decided to chat with Medic while she waited. "So, how's your work going?" She asked after standing up to sit next to him.
The doctor looked at her, slightly shocked at the sudden attention. "Oh, ja." He replied with a nod.
"That's great! Anything interesting?" She asked.
He thought for a moment and only shook his head. "Only ze usual reports." He replied.
"Well, I hope it's not too boring to do! I can help out if you ever need it." Janine offered.
Medic became surprised again and only nodded. "I-I appreciate it, Fräu."
She gave him a friendly grin and looked around once again. Bruiser then stood up and headed towards Scout and Pyro. "Do you two need any help with the food? I can help cook or help you put it on the table." She offered.
"Oh, sure, Bruisah!" Scout nodded. "Help us out with bringin' it ta everyone."
