2043 words. I tried to keep in mind my block text problem and grammar. the computer I'm using has very unresponsive keys, but it's the only one I have access to right now. This chapter also includes where Blake's part in the story begins, as well as Cardin's team, and my beginning to introduce the true characters of Bart and Peter. pls don't flame me.

The newly minted team Ripple made their way to the first class of the day, meeting up with team Drown(DYWN -Dove,Yang, Weiss, and Nora) for history with Doctor Oobleck. Naturally, in this odd group, Yang started up a conversation.

"Soooo, how'd you decorate your room?" She asked, looking towards Ruby. "I didn't."

". . . Pyrrha?" Yang asked, both annoyed and amused at Ruby's answer. "We pushed to beds into sets of two, and put them in the left corners, with the desks opposite the beds. no one had any decorations with them, so we set up some weapon maintenance stations in between the desks."

Yang sighed, knowing that visual appeal meant nothing to Ruby, except when she could be more intimidating for it. well, that was that.

"Well, let's see what Beacon has in store..."

"WHYYYYYY?" Yang whimpered, ten minutes later, as the history professor, Doctor Oobleck, rambled onward, so quickly that anyone without a speed semblance had a spinning head.

Well, people with speed semblances, hyperactive people, and Weiss. In this case, Ruby, Nora, and Weiss were following along as the rest of the class jotted down the occasional name or date as they registered them. Ruby raised her hand. "Professor-" "Doctor!" "Doctor Oobleck, I have a question."

"Yes? FINALLY! AN ENGAGED STUDENT! never though I'd see the day. What's your question?"

Ruby shrank during his outburst, but popped right back up again as he asked. "You said that General Legume was considered a skilled general until the battle of Fort Castle, but he made an obvious stupid mistake. wouldn't someone with such a good reputation think about that?"

Oobleck looked absolutely thrilled to be answering questions for once, and immediately dropped his chalk, appearing at a bookshelf in the corner and pulled out a thick volume. "Excellent question! In a skirmish two months earlier,he used this exact trait against the Faunus by attacking Sunguard, one of their training centers, where they taught each other how to use weapons, and actually created one of the very first Dust-enhanced guns! He moved his regiment to their western flank during the night and charged as the sun rose, blinding the faunus and preventing them from using the guns. Most agree that this was the largest contributor to his reputation. it's a widely debated question of how his mind degraded to the point of forgetting that the faunus had such an advantage during the battle at Fort Castle, but that's a different lesson. This book contains a list of historical battles and tactics used in the last thousand years of recorded history. If you want to know more, I can lend it to you whenever you have , back to the lesson at hand, can anyone tell me-"

Weiss actually looked slightly impressed that Ruby had, by all appearances, understood the whole spiel. she had a recorder out, since blindness makes note taking hard, while everyone did their own thing. Nora was shocking herself with a small handheld taser, Yang was doodling, and Ren, Pyrrha, and Jaune trying to listen to Oobleck. Weiss bemoaned her luck once more when she noticed this - after all, she was the only person taking notes in her entire team. Yang, Dove, and Nora weren't even paying attention. 'Instead, the sneak got Pyrrha as a partner and that guy, Ren, as a teammate. Weiss would even be willing to put up with Jaune to have those two on her team. Well, nothing can be done about it now.

Class ended quickly, and the two groups headed to their next class - Grimm Studies(nap time, to veteran students) with Peter Port. They got in there, and ten minutes later, the only people still listening were Weiss and some guy in the back. Weiss, getting increasingly fed up, jumped up immediately when Port asked for volunteers to fight a Grimm. Weiss got her gear, idly noting with some degree of annoyance that Pyrrha and Ruby were the only other people with their hands up. that her team didn't even look up was making her even angrier.

Weiss walked back into the classroom clad in her white combat skirt and bolero, her chosen clothing for fighting in. Port brought forth one of nine cages, "This is a test of courage, not skill, and not bravery. Before you, I have nine crates, each containing one of three types of grimm. Weiss, you must choose one, out of a fledgling Beowolf, Boarbatusk, or Ravager. you will fight the one of your choosing."Weiss nodded. "If I don't choose?" He nodded. "A good question. you will fight all three."

She sighed. if she chose the Beowolf, a grimm with no armor, she would be seen as weak, but she didn't know if she could beat the other two. "Give me the Boarbatusk. I would rather restrict my enemy to ground level combat." she said.

Now, it's weakest point would be the rare spot with no armor, which should be easy since it's armor is apparently very fragmented. she let the beast charge, and sidestepped it, stabbing into its side, and her rapier bounded off of the shell.

"ho ho, didn't expect that, did you?" he said, as her team finally woke up and paid attention. of course, now the attention was unwanted, and distracting. Hmm. if it's back is solid, then it's stomach is the next logical step. but how to turn it over? Weiss let it charge again, and caught her sword in its tusks, trying to turn the grimm over or on its side. Yang was loudly questioning her partner, as were her teammates.

"A bold new approach! I like it!" Port interjected. the sounds cost Weiss her focus, and her blade went tumbling to the other side of the room.

"What will you do without your weapon?" He asked. Weiss shook her head at herself. there was, of course, only one way to defend herself without a blade. as the Boar Grimm came charging once again, she lifted her hand, and with a projection of aura, she summoned a glyph, which the Boarbatusk bounced off of. she quickly made her way back to her weapon, and summoned two more glyphs. one pushed the Pig into the air, and she jumped at the next one, slamming her blade into the grimm from beneath. she and it both fell, and it landed further on the blade which she dropped when they fell.

"Congratulations, Ms. Schnee, although I would suggest, next time, to beat it without losing your weapon. if you had not chosen, you would have lost that battle, as three grimm would have attacked at that moment instead of one. Ms. Rose, I believe you were the second to raise a hand. you have the same dilemma. Beowolf, Boarbatusk, or Ravager?"

Ruby looked at them. "I choose to not choose." Weiss snapped back to attention - she had trouble with a single armored grimm, and the sneak wanted that one, and two others? she'd die!

"Rose, if you want to get yourself killed, don't do it in the classroom!" she said loudly, making Yang glare at her with red eyes.

Ruby stood, and without going to get her combat gear, drew her beloved blade from her back. "Yang, if your BLIND sister was intelligent, she would have chosen the Beowolf. I actually trained to get here, and I can see, so stop glaring at me because she chose to be stupid!" the air around them was getting stifling.

Yang forcibly drew in a breath and held it until the air cooled down to normal. "Schnee, shut up, and watch the fight. maybe you'll learn something about how to fight." she ground out before pointedly looking away from Weiss to the battlefield.

Ruby had shifted her stance, and turned the scythe blade behind her. as the trio of grimm were released - one flying, one running, and the last spinning, she stepped forward.

The blunt end of her scythe plowed through the boarbatusk, and it rolled up her weapon into the air. in the same movement, her scythe turned, and pulling the trigger to power her cut through the ravager shot a bullet into the Beowolf. with the blade pointing upwards as she completed her spinning strike, the boarbatusk hit the ground, impaling itself on the large bladed side of the weapon. the entire battle took less than five seconds. Weiss gaped.

"That was well executed and thought out, Ms. Rose. Ms. Nikos, your choice."

Pyrrha stepped up, and chose to fight the Beowolf. she quickly grabbed her sword, and in less than a second, speared her quarry.

"Excellent. it seems we are in the presence of several true huntresses in training! those of you who did not fight are dismissed, you three, I would like to speak to you before you go."

Weiss, Ruby, and Pyrrha walked to the desk as everyone else left.

"Weiss, you should not choose to fight a battle you aren't sure you can win unless there is something important riding on the outcome. Ruby, why did you choose to fight all three?" Ruby blinked.

"Um, well, I knew I could beat all of them, and if i didn't, then they would grow and become more powerful. they could hurt someone later if I didn't stop them now."

"Well put, and if you know you can beat them with ease, you should always do so. Pyrrha, I know you don't want the attention, but you should not try to slow yourself down to the average student's pace just to avoid it. I know you all can be even better than you are now, if only you stopped restraining yourselves. you are free to go." Port said, scribbling out a set of notes for the students. they did, after all, have Glynda's class after this.

In the meantime, In Combat Class,

YANG XIAO-LONG v.s. CARDIN WINCHESTER

Yang slipped on her gauntlets, and stepped into the ring while Cardin hefted his Mace over his shoulder. Blake looked on impassively, hoping the racist of a partner she got was beaten badly. at this rate, if she let her guard down in the slightest, she would accidentally expose her secret, and would have to flee yet again. and this time, she wouldn't be able to find a spot in the ranks of the good guys. she would forever be nothing more than a villain hiding away from her sins.

The match started, and Yang let off with a dash forward and a punch to the stomach, hoping to knock the wind out of his lungs before he could get any steam. Cardin ignored it and slammed his mace down on Yang's head after she did so, and grinned. that grin fell, however, a moment later when she straightened back out and simple tried the same thing again. again, Cardin smashed her halfway into the ground.

"Are you even going to try to fight, or are you just going to try to knock the wind out of me? 'cuz that ain't working!" Yang only responded with a grin and another charge punch to the stomach. oh well. no fight then.

Cardin smashed her into the ground one more time, but this time, she stood up and caught fire. her eyes turned red, and, flames licking her hair, she charged again, but this time, her punch to the stomach sent him half way across the field and cut his aura in half, and she was approaching so fast that he couldn't stop it from happening again. the bell rung, and he looked as her aura bar, which he gaped to find was no less than 98% full. she was barely fazed by his weapon at all!

it was to the scene of Cardin gaping at the screen and Yang laughing her ass off that the trio of 'true huntresses' entered. Glynda looked up, and frowned at the three until she was shown the note they brought. well, better luck next time finding an example for what happens when you're late to her class.

Additional AN: Fuck this, in no way do i have the writing experience to keep in mind and effectively portray a blind person in a story without focusing on how they get around, This story is officially up for adoption, as I cannot get anything done regarding it. have fun, and post a review here if you choose to adopt it.
