Because the wonderful bcbdrums wanted fluff... so I delivered.

The rain poured buckets on them as they tried their best to hurry to the nearest town. It was just their luck the hovercar would run out of power in the middle of the monsoon season. Drakken was just glad the terrain was turning more solid. He and Shego we're already covered in mud from a few spills. Most of which, for her, was him grabbing for her as he fell.

"How far is it?" asked Drakken. Shego looked at him with a raised brow, "What?"

"I was following you," scoffed Shego, "You said the town wasn't far from here?"

"No. I asked 'Is the town far from here?' and you started walking," responded Drakken.

"Great! So we're nearly a mile in some random direction," sputtered Shego as the rain ran down her face.

Thunder boomed and the rain, if possible, came down even heavier. Drakken could tell Shego was shaking and it wasn't from anger. He didn't know how long they had to go yet and it was at least another thirty minutes if they turned back around. He quickly undid his belt and pulled his coat up. Shego raised a brow at him but before he could say anything, she'd nestled under his arm and out of the rain.

"We can go back to the hovercar. It at least has some shelter," said Drakken. Talking louder over the sound of the rain.

"We passed a hunting shack a few minutes ago," spoked Shego. Drakken could hear the shake in her voice, "We can stop there until the rain breaks a bit more."

Drakken tried to look at her in the dim light of his coat. Her face seemed flushed and he could see her jaw shaking. He knew he had started to shiver as well, but she seemed to have the worse end. He supposed his coat had blocked a majority of the dampness.

Drakken nodded and turned as they headed back up the embankment. He pulled Shego closer to him and hoped he didn't slip again and cause them to fall. He was certain those hadn't helped her stay any warmer. He felt Shego's arm wrap around his waist as she pulled herself as close as she could without causing their footing to be off.

Drakken felt his heart speed up and fought a glare at his reaction. He wasn't about to have this internal conversation about Shego and he's relationship… while freezing in a rainstorm. As they made it a few yards and back into the wooded area they'd barely escaped from… the small shack cabin came into view. It looked even worse than when they'd passed it. Barely a 10 x 10 square with cracked windows, a patchwork roof, and a broken step.

Shego must have read his expression.

"It's better than out here," she stuttered.

Drakken nodded and let Shego dart in before him. He wanted to tell himself he was being a curious gentleman, but a part of him was also concerned there was some sort of wild person or animal living in it. He followed right behind her and closed the door behind them.

It was dark and chilly, but at least it was dry. There was a small square window on either side of the shack, the one cracked one was near a small wood stove that was covered in cobwebs with chunks of wood layered in dust. A small kitchen sat in the back of the small space with an old sink, a doorless fridge, and a cabinet that presumably held linens as plates were stacked in the sink. They too were left to rot it seemed. The wall to their left and under the other window held a small bed that despite the dust and cobwebs appeared to have been wrapped in plastic and forgotten.

"Looks like no one's been here in a while," muttered Drakken as he noted the chair layered with dust and dirt in the corner.

"Good," muttered Shego, "Don't need to fight anyone off to stay here then. Drakken, can you see if the metal vent clip moves on that thing?"

Drakken followed her gaze to the wood stove and assumed it doubled as the heater for the shack. He nodded and with some yanking the vent turned. Shego, still wrapped in his coat, moved to open the stove quickly. Drakken barely had time to move as with a faint flickering green light a fire started. The light illuminated just how cold Shego clearly was. Her skin almost seemed to have a blue hue to it despite the firelight.

"Shego, are you okay?" asked Drakken quickly. He knew the answer.

"Just cold, I'll be fine," she stuttered.

That was not the answer.

Drakken looked around the shack for something and opened the cabinet. It was, in fact, the linen cabinet… partially. Under the shelf of linens was what he assumed was a makeshift bathroom. Drakken was pretty sure he saw movement in the dim light. He snatched every linen he could and slammed the door quickly. He used his other hand to pull the plastic off the bed to have something partially clean to put them down on.

"Shego, how are you feeling?" asked Drakken. She'd been watching him the whole time but hadn't commented.

"I'm fine. Just cold," said Shego, "A little tired and sore… But some blue oaf fell on me three times down some hills, so that's to be expected."

Drakken nodded and looked at the blankets. They seemed relatively clean at least. He mentally wondered how to word his next statement without getting blasted. He glanced at Shego. He doubted she had that much energy but still. He was becoming concerned with her shaking and color she might be going through mild hyperthermia. He knew Shego needed warmth, but wasn't exactly sure if it was a preference or a need because of her powers.

A question for later.

"Shego, you… you uh… need to get out of those clothes," he cleared his throat and held up a blanket.

Shego looked at him with wide eyes and Drakken waited for them to narrow and a snide remark to follow it. Instead, he saw her face darken and her hands pull his coat closer. Drakken put the blanket down. He gave a nervous laugh and looked around.

"Not because… it's just… you are cold… and–"

"I got it," Shego rolled her eyes and slowly stood up and handed him his coat, "I would hope if you were trying to just get me naked you'd have a better pick up line."

Drakken flushed and nodded. He doubted that very much but he wasn't about to make a comment to make it even more awkward. As Shego went to unzip the top part of her attire, Drakken quickly went towards the door to hang the damp coat upon a large rusted hook. He focused on the doorframe and waited for Shego to let him know when she was covered. It felt like ages ticked by and Drakken felt his own jaw shake from dampness setting in. His shirt had mostly been protected but the bottom part of his pants we're soaked and his boots made a sloshing noise.

"Shego," he called as he heard stumbling. He took a deep breath, "Do you… uh … need help?"

"Getting dangerously close to a pick-up line there Doc," he heard her give a faint chuckle, "I'm fine. You didn't have to hide in the corner."

"Well I wasn't about to watch you undress like a common pervert," scoffed Drakken as he turned around.

Shego was curled up on the tiny bed and only her head poked out from the two blankets she was wrapped in. The other two blankets on the end closest to him. He noted she'd laid her clothes over a small chair he'd not noticed before in hopes to dry them near the fire. He felt his face grow slightly warm as he noticed it wasn't just her suit hanging there. He took off his boots and indeed they were heavy with water.

"Uhg, great, now its gonna smell in here," Shego gave a shaky chuckle. Drakken rolled his eyes and tossed his boots, "I left you two blankets. Your clothes are damp too."

"I only need one, I'm nowhere near as cold as you," said Drakken as she began undoing his belt.

Drakken looked up to see Shego watching him and froze.

"Uh, Shego," he stammered out, "Do you mind?"

"Hmm?" she looked up at him and gave a slight smirk, "Oh, did you want me to look away?"

Drakken raised his brow and she smirked before pulling the blanket farther over her head so Drakken could finish undressing. He'd never gotten undressed this fast in his life and was grateful at least his underwear we're dry. He pulled the blanket tightly around him but tossed the spare blanket over Shego.

"I assume you're done," he heard her muffled voice before her face came back into view.

"I didn't respond yet," responded Drakken as he sat at the edge of the tiny bed.

"Yes, well maybe I'm a common pervert and I wanted to see," smirked Shego. Drakken saw her shake slightly.

It was silent save for the sounds of thunder and the occasional chatter of teeth. Drakken did his best to remain in his corner of the bed but try and get his feet under the blanket. He glanced at Shego who was staring at the fire and slowly slid back against the wall so he tucked his feet under, but keeping his distance from Shego. He heard a snort and looked back over at Shego who was shaking her head.

"What?" asked Drakken.

He readied for a rant of his competence perhaps. A lecture about the battery of the hovercar. Things that he'd dwelled on in their walk already. Nothing came. Just Shego looked at him and the space between them before sighing. Drakken went back to his thoughts about the hovercar, trying to figure out how he'd managed to not charge it or put a backup solar generator in it like normal.

"You don't have to sit so far away," scoffed Shego, "We sit closer on the couch for movie night."

Drakken looked at her for a second. She was right.

"Yes, well… we're normally in clothes," he chuckled.

However, now that he'd said it allowed he felt the need to shift a little more away from her.

"Gee, Doc. You really know how to make a woman feel attractive," scoffed Shego, "Did you want me to sit on the floor or is that still too close."

"I didn't want to make it more uncomfortable," muttered Drakken.

There was silence again until Drakken heard the low chuckling of Shego. He looked at her as she stared out the cracked window and pulled her blankets closer. Her teeth chattering had stopped finally, but he noticed her shoulders were still shaking as she pulled the blanket over her face. The shaky chuckle continued and Drakken leaned against the wall and watched the fire.

His mind played back to their trip, trying to figure out how he had missed the malfunctions and why the battery had drained. When he and Shego had decided to go out and grab food instead of eating at the lair or ordering in, it had started fine. He hadn't really paid much attention to the flight because Shego and he had kept talking and laughing the whole flight.

He stopped on that again, picturing Shego's soft smile and leaning on his shoulder. He let that fall away as he recalled dinner where they had sat at a tiny booth away from everyone. He swore he'd put the charge on before they had gone in. He tried to remember if he'd turned it off when they'd left but Shego had kept fixing his glove which had distracted him too much. He'd felt like she'd been trying to hold his hand and he'd been too flustered to recall if he'd seen the charge on or not.

The flight had seemed normal, Shego had kept messing with his hair, to annoy him he was sure. He'd been too distracted by this to remember if the hovercar had shaken before it powered down. It had just gone silent and they'd landed it before it fully turned off. It had started to rain before he had a chance to check the power sources. Shego had insisted they just stay in the hovercar and let it self charge, but instead, they'd gone into town… or tried too.

"Shego.." he asked in thought. Maybe she noticed something.

"What?" came a harsh reply. Drakken looked at the pile of blankets.

"Shego did… Shego, are you feeling okay?" asked Drakken as he inched a little closer, "You sound off."

"I'm fine, what do you want?" came a forced softer response. He knew it was forced.

"Shego, you don't sound fine," Drakken hesitantly scooted closer, "Do you have a fever? Are you nauseous?"

"No," snapped Shego as she pulled the blanket from her head, "Now, what did you want?"

Drakken looked at her, her face seemed flushed and her eyes seemed off, patches on her cheek and nose made him wonder even more about the fever. He noticed her shoulder's had stopped shaking, as had her jaw. His lips seemed to still move. He was about to state this when it suddenly clicked.

"Shego… we're you… we're you crying?" asked Drakken. He'd moved the distance between them now to look closer at her, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing. Now, what did you want?" asked Shego. Drakken watched her shift uncomfortably.

"I.. I was going to ask if.. if the charge pack acted off," said Drakken quietly. Shego rolled her eyes and looked at the blanket.

"It wasn't fully charged," she muttered.

"What?" asked Drakken.

"It wasn't fully charged because I didn't recharge it," snapped Shego.

"Oh well great going Shego," scoffed Drakken, "I've been trying to figure out what I did wrong and you didn't charge it… you could have said something before we left the city."

"Yeah, well, I'm not thrilled with this evening either," she scoffed.

"Yes, I suppose," mumbled Drakken, "I see why you were upset."

"That's not why I'm upset," muttered Shego.

"Why else would you be upset–"

"Oh gee. I don't know, what could have possibly made me upset," she snapped, "How about freezing rain, feeling like you got hit by a truck, trying to plan a nice evening that no one appreciated and was clearly a horrible idea, oh and stuck in a rickety shack naked with an oblivious idiot who has to sit five feet away."

Drakken stared at her as she pulled the blanket tighter. He had so many questions about her statements including the fact she'd known the hovercar was low on power. Then to her last statement. It took a quick replay of the night to suddenly see things a little differently. Knowing the power was low, she'd still wanted them to go out… suddenly her sarcasm and jokes seemed more like flirting… the insistence on the small dark booth… her fixing his glove now seemed very different… her playing with his hair…how calm she'd seemed when the hovercar stalled. Any other time she would have berated him for not fixing or updating something.

"Shego, we're we on a date?" he asked softly.

"Doesn't matter," scoffed Shego, "I got the message."

"What message? I didn't even know we're on a date," said Drakken. He felt a mix of embarrassment and anger at this.

"When someone asks if you want to go out to dinner… it's normally a date. Drakken!" snapped Shego.

"Not when you eat with that person all the time… then its just a location change," retorted Drakken, "Were you flirting with me tonight?"

"Have been for a year, but nice of you to notice tonight," scoffed Shego, "Whatever, I'm over it."

"Well I'm not," stated Drakken, "It would have been nice to know we're on a date."

Drakken watched her roll her eyes and mutter under her breath. His chest was pounding as he stared at her and then glared at the door and back at her. He wanted to continue to be mad but his mind kept fixating on her last statement of her rant. He glanced at face. The blanket was covering her face save for her eyes. They were wide and darting back and forth.

All night, Shego had been on a date… with him… and he'd just only found out. He'd pulled his hand away from hers when she'd clearly been trying to hold it. He'd complained about the secluded dark table and how he couldn't see the menu. Had waved her off when she'd played with his hair. He felt suddenly warm as his chest pounded and his ears felt hot.

"Shego–"

"Let's just pretend–"

Drakken moved quickly before his inner voice could stop him. He kissed her a little harder than he intended and half expected a plasma blast to hit him. Instead, he felt her lips kiss his back before he pulled away slightly as her hand peaked out of the blanket to touch his face.

"Next time… can you tell me we're on a date," said Drakken. He swallowed hard and smiled.

"Next time?" asked Shego, "After this horrible date?"

Drakken felt his heart sink as his smile fell away.

"Well, it would have been nice to know that beforehand," muttered Drakken as he went to pull away.

Shego grabbed the blanket and pulled him back towards her.

"How would this date have gone if you knew it was a date?" asked Shego quickly. Drakken stared at her for a second before talking.

"I would have picked a nicer place to start… ordered a better wine… held you're hand… because clearly, you weren't fixing my glove," Drakken rolled his eyes.

"I was actually doing both," nodded Shego, "What else?"

"Well for starters we would have made it back to the lair–"

"No we wouldn't have," whispered Shego, "Continue?"

"Reguardless… we wouldn't be held up in some shack in a rainstorm," said Drakken. He looked at her lips again, "I wouldn't have sat so far away… and there would have been much less arguing."

His eyes went to hers.

"Then what?" she asked. There was a smirk on her face now, "Good night kiss?"

"If that's what you wanted," responded Drakken.

He kissed her softer this time as he moved closer to her, his hand touching her still-damp hair. She pulled away.

"What if I wanted more than a good night kiss?" she breathed.

Drakken's heart felt like it was in his throat as the words hit his ears. He wanted nothing more than to pull her into a deeper kiss and let the blankets fall to the ground. But… Drakken smiled and kissed her again.

"That would have to wait till next time," smirked Drakken. Shego laughed.

"Ah, and the gentleman secures a second date… well played," she sighed, "Hope you're not opposed to more kissing?"

"We're still on our date, aren't we?" asked Drakken.

The answer was Shego's lips on his. The sound of the thunder and wind outside shook the shack. As the rain became heavier, it wasn't the only thing falling.
