Hello! Hope you're all doing well. Here's the next oneshot. Enjoy!

The Mother Bear

Rosie and Mike ran and hid behind Hermione, who at the time was looking over some artichokes. Absently, she put down the unopened flower bud. Putting silent and wandless protective and shielding charms on them both, her eyes flicked over to a man who was focused on the children as he charged over. Assuring herself that both of the children were safely behind herself, she did the first thing that came to mind.

Waiting until he was closer, she kicked him in the groin. Hard. This was followed up by a knee to his nose, when he folded up in pain. Thank goodness James insisted he teach her a couple of new moves to add to her already pretty potent kick of death. Several gasped at her actions, but this was nothing to what was coming up next.

Yanking his head back, she snarled, "Who are you and what do you want with those children?"

"None of your…" She slammed his head into the table of vegetables.

"You were saying?" she drawled. "I'm giving you to the count of three."

"You can't…"

"One…" Her voice was hard and dispassionate.

"…See if I…"

Hermione's eyes went darker as she muttered, "…two…"

"…Do your worst, bitch!"

She put her finger and thumb together in front of his face, sending off sparks before saying three. She sent a snap of a current through the man, sending him flying backwards ten feet.

Turning to the Korean grocery store owner, she asked, "Can you please take in the children while I see to this man trying to harm them?"

With a stiff nod, he pulled them back into the store with a firm, "Ye."

Hermione walked briskly over to the man yanking him up by his jacket, snarling, "What do you say now, little man?"

"Who the hell are you?!" he stammered.

"Your death if you don't answer every single question I ask," she replied, making his eyes go wider.

Needless to say, he answered her questions.

"You should have seen her!" Rosie told Bucky. "She kicked him really hard in a place she shouldn't."

"I bet," he said, giving a wink to his wife.

Hermione was still blushing, as she said, "Go get washed up for dinner, Rosie. And don't forget to use your stool."

"Okay!" she called out behind herself, as she went to do as she was told.

"So, what's for dinner?" he asked her, as she was unboxing the food from the to-go containers.

"Halmeoni Pang said that we were good and that our mother was a good woman," Mike told him. "She fed us mushroom stew and told us stories while Hermione dealt with the bad guy and the police."

Hermione went over to Mike, hugging him from behind and kissing his temple. "I'm so proud of you and how brave both of you were today." Rubbing his arms, she added, "Did you like the stew over there?"

"It was nice," he admitted. "I never had Korean food before."

"Well, seeing as she sent enough food with you two when you left to feed an army, we're feasting tonight on Korean food."

Laughing now, he said, "Cool."

"Now go get washed up," she murmured, sending him on his way.

Hermione went straight over to Bucky, hugging him tightly. His arms went around her and the two remained silent for a moment before she said anything to him.

Kissing her forehead, he murmured, "Sounds like you were pretty fierce out there today."

Looking into his eyes, she admitted, "I was ready to seriously hurt him, I was so angry, James."

"I know, sweetheart," he said, finger combing her hair out of her face. "That guy was a fool. He should have known better than to mess with a mother bear looking after her cubs."

Frowning, she asked, "I'm the mother bear in this scenario?"

Chuckling, he said, "That you are."

"Oh." A small smile came to her face, as she told him, "I'm not angry at that name."

He was still laughing when the kids came to eat their dinner a few minutes later.
